Love this hospital they've taken care my daughter there. Dr. Urata and Dr. Magee in plastic surgeon does an amazing job.

The medical care at this hospital was excellent, but they overbilled us. I have been trying for six months now to get the refund of $1140 but to no avail. I've called a bunch of times and spoken to several people, but they still cannot tell me when I'll get the refund check. It is very sad that a great institution like this does such a poor job of billing.

This is my dream hospital one day I will be in this hospital as pediatric orthopedic surgeon

I have never received such attentive and thorough Doctors in my life. Their bedside manner is world class. The orthopedic department, Doctors, Nurses and staff are amazing human beings. They have fixed my 4 yr old son, twice . Dr. Meisel, Dr. Vandenberg, both 5 star Doctors! The sense of comfort that they provide, knowing your child is in the best hands, is priceless. Thank you, CHLA!

Just hated this because we had to wait for 6 hrs with my kid who was in the risk of dehydration.

My two beautiful boys were born here. Lovely hospital, and as everyone agrees, the best pediatric hospital west of the Mississippi.

While I am absolutely sure those who actually are seen here get stellar treatment, we keep getting told we cannot be seen because we are "out of the service area". We've got referrals from our sons pediatrician and insurance with authorization numbers and apparently that doesn't matter. We are in Los Angeles county, albeit a distance but technically local. Why would their hospital allow insurance to approve referrals for drill? I was given an 800# and a good luck. No one even asked for our authorization numbers on the referrals any time I called. This was literally the only place that insurance would approve the tests my son needed done. I was excited my son was referred here until we were written off so easily. We've gone a different route and will seek out some of the other services and tests we need to complete elsewhere, obviously, as a result. I have received the most guidance on next steps from other parents in a similar situation.

Some Doctor are very rude, they don't know how to treat the patient and family with compassion. They shouldn't be working with children's.

Review is for ER: if they don't consider your case as TRULY emergency (whatever it means for them) - forget about it: MANY HOURS WAIT.

Horrible Service........the worst service ever from a medical facility. No sense of urgency or compassion.
Lack of follow up, especially when dealing with children.

For children the best hospital in all of California.

This hospital is a rip off hospital. My child had a surgery at this hospital,and my insurance did not cover. I got a phone call two days after my child was discharged from the hospital and they said that it will be $9,000 and then a few days later I called them and they said that the price is $32,000. I was about to faint when they said that. I finally paid $16,000 for the surgery. They charge me of one day in one of the room $9,000. Do not go to this hospital if you do not have a good insurance because they will rip you off. This is not a non profit organization. This is money making machine.

The best hospital for kids in California, the only place I take my son when is an emergency. Love the doctors and nurses.

I'm about to go there any soon cuz I'm having a heart attack and I want to recover from it but my parents said I should go to bed

I called this morning for medical advice and spoke with the pediatrician on call who had a nasty attitude. I'm dealing with my child's illness and now I have to deal with a rude doctor? So unprofessional!!

This hospital is ok. Nurses were mostly terrible, unfriendly, and inconsistent. Staff does not communicate with each other and you get the privilege of seeing a Dr. for 5 minutes when they make their rounds. Their highest concern is money. My daughter was in the hospital for 5 days (which was authorized) and had an outpatient follow-up appointment a week later. They hassled us repeatedly about authotization for a $200 follow-up appointment. Essentially their message was pay or you don't see a Dr. They have big donors (which is great) but they also care more about money than they do their patients. I'm sure this hospital is ranked so high due to the specialty doctors, it's certainly not because of the friendliness or professionalism of the nurses and administrators.

I just love this place my son had his tonsils removed as well as tubes in his ears by Doctor Dawn. She's the best!

14 years ago Dr. VAUGHN STARNES performed an open hear surgery on my first born alot of miracles happened to us on those days. I didn't get to thank him enough at that time but he did such an amazing job on my kid. I had never felt God so closed to us. All the glory to God and bless that doctor and all the staff. I Have my miracle kid who now is a teenager. Thank you

Good service but wait for doctors can be pretty long. The parking is so inconvenient.

Just here visiting and besides the female security guard who was sumwhat short and rude my visit was as expected

This is not my first time I chla but this is my second time not as a parent because I have no kids I'm basically working it I'm here helping out with the lady chla Network upgrade project even though I've done other projects and other hospitals this by far is the most difficult for me personally because it's hard to see kids that are hurting.

What I noticed from day one when I first came on board this project is that Children's Hospital does cater not only to parents and familes but more specifically and importantly the children the kids I mean from kid friendly waiting areas with tables and chairs knee high, some witj slides, someone cartoons even I noticed in one of the recovery rooms were a child was getting a cast put on little watching Elmo pretty cool.

Now the hospital does have a cafeteria I can't remember what the name of it is the expensive and restaurants around the area but it's the hospital that's all about the kids and that's what I appreciate

Left my daughters gold necklace by accident and when I called the hospital it wasn't returned to lost or found. The person that cleaned the room must of seen it! Took it off of her because she needed a few x-rays done. What kind of criminals are hired to be around our children. Sad !

This place has everything any child and parent wants and needs. Best service, and amazing nurses, doctors, and staff. If your child or anyone you know needs a doctor definitely go here.

If I could give this hospital 0 stars I would do it, I know they don't care about these reviews but the service is horrible, nurses in ER are extremely rude and always have an attitude. If you come to this hospital be prepared to wait minimum 5 hours no matter what symptoms your child may have. Also don't expect good service because you're gonna be disappointed. This hospital needs more doctors and NICER nurses. Unfortunately this is the closest hospital that we have so we have no choice but to come here. So many people just walk out because they do not care about your child's health and how long you wait.

Excellent hospital in quality and service. It has its own parking lot. The waiting room is super comfortable and clean. The cafeteria is also super spacious and enough. In addition to that, it has a children's play area.

We Loved This Hospital But Today We Left Very Disappointed i told The staff all My concerns and Yet she referred me to my daughters primary health care when i had already told her i had already taken her. I thought hospital was our second choice after medical clinics. The way She direct us i found it very inappropriate she kept asking me is i had any questions and so i did and for her to just shut me down and say oh you see now this is a hospital that's why there's pediatric clinics take her to her primary doctor if you have any questions why would they refuse to check on her that's my question.

I do not recommend the service is extremely horrible. Do you need to take your child almost dying in order to be treated? Is a pediatrician referral really needed if your child is in pain, what is the point of a children s hospital if the doctors aren t wanting to help a child in need.

The doctors and nurses are very compassionate and caring. They made my baby and I feel very comfortable during her care there. I will be forever grateful. Thank you.

I have to give CHLA a five star rating because they saved me during my first year or so of life. My parents were in their 20s and poor in the 90's, so they couldn't afford the procedure to correct my congenital heart defect. However, there was a foundation which covered the expenses for my surgery and recuperation. According to my mom, the surgeon could "do the operation with his eyes closed", since he has fixed VSD so many times. I donated to the foundation, which is the least I could do. Thank you.
