I LOVE the CSO. The prices are more affordable than you'd think, and it supports a major institution. I find the orchestra soothing and enjoy going here with others. At Christmas they do wonderful concerts themed to that end.

The Chicago Symphony Center, home to the world-renown Chicago Symphony, is one of Chicago's historic landmark buildings. It was designed by Chicago's famous architect, Daniel Burnham. The building, completed in 1904, is one of the architectural jewels along Michigan Avenue. The interior was designed by Van Doren Shaw. The vast Orchestra Hall can seat 2,522, but it still retains a certain intimacy. The acoustics are terrific. The building also houses Buntrock Hall, a training facility for future musical artists, and Grainger Ballroom. If you cannot take in one of the incredible performances by the Chicago Symphony or one of the visiting artists, at least take in an architectural tour.

For those of you who think Classical music is dead- go to the CSO! Whenever Muti conducts, the concerts are sold out, otherwise they are VERY well attended. One of the best orchestras in the world, Chicago Symphony does not disappoint in terms of quality musicianship, beautiful acoustics and accommodating hall.

Just a note for anyone looking for Buntrock Hall, common location for lectures and such: Go to the very end of the long arcade located to the right of the main hall. Go one floor up the spiral staircase and there you have it.

My husband and I enjoy coming here about once a year. I am always amazed with how all the staff truly enjoy their jobs. I can just tell by how they always want to tell more about the building or the services/shows offered. We are never disappointed with the facility or the services! The best part, I dont think there is a bad seat there! We usually sit in the cheaper seats, all the way up! I actually really like them, you can see the entire theater and hear everything perfectly! The seats are rather deep and you feel like you can fall, but I'm fine with heights.

Great service by the staff. They do a wonderful job seating everyone and they are super polite. The only word of caution I have is don't get anything off the drink menu during intermission. The line was super long and by the time we got our drinks it was time to go back in. Understandably, no food or drinks are allowed in the concert hall, so we had to ditch them. Not a huge deal, but when you have to pay $4 for a can of sprite, it's kind of nice not to throw away half of it. Our seats were H9 and H11, on the left side of the hall about 8 rows up, 4 seats from the aisle. The sound was fantastic.

Always something good to see and do at the Chicago Symphony Center. On this occasion, I went to a special program presented in celebration of the Chinese New Year. The program was excellent. A good mixture of song and dance. Definitely, a must see!

Best in the midwest. From the surroundings, decor, and how the staff is dressed all contributes to the the amazing ambiance of this place. So romantic. Great evening with the inlaws and husband!

The Chicago Symphony Center is, not surprisingly something of a grand place, and I always enjoy the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. However, the facility itself is starting to show its age. The seats are worn, the amenities are minimal, and it just looks like it could use a refresher. Perhaps more significantly, the sound varies a fair bit depending on where you are sitting. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a characteristic of the hall.

Absolutely speechless after seeing Gustav Holst's the Planets in this world-class concert hall. Astounding acoustics, incredible interior... basically a hall sufficient in quality for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra to play in. I highly recommend any classical music listener to watch at least one performance here, because regret is close to impossible.

BEAUTIFUL and historic theater! Seats are old and need replacement to more comfortable and modern seats, but no obstructed views and the architecture is astounding! If you're in the Gallery, expect a long mountain climb to the top! (or you can cheat and take the elevator)

Gorgeous! We loved the free cough drops. The music hall is beautiful with great sound regardless of seating. And the orchestra was fantastic! Very impressed! The older style with newer touches worked very well.
