Love going to the symphony! Incredibly talented musicians in a classic building. Use SpotHero app for less expensive parking in Grant Park North garage.
The Symphony Center is a superb classical music venue, with excellent acoustics all round. We bought tickets for the CSO on the front section of the lower balcony, which were cheaper and still had a great view. They also have some very high quality free concerts, such as the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, which are amazing value. The staff are all lovely and having a box of free anti-coughing sweets in the foyer is a brilliant brainwave!
Every time I attend a CSO concert, it is the highlight of the season. Listening to and watching some of the world's greatest musicians perform is a dream come true. I am absolutely blown away by every performance.
The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is universally recognized as one of the world's best orchestras. I have been a patron and subscriber for 40 years and always look forward to the concerts.
"Verdi Requiem" conducted by Muti impressive large performance. Solo singers thrilled especially sopranos. Symphony Hall wonderful acoustics. Narrower original seats. Good elevators to upper balconies.
We came here two years ago for the Distant Worlds (Final Fantasy) orchestra and had an amazing experience. The staff were the picture of professionalism and the venue was superb. Great acoustics (from the left main floor) and the seats were comfortable. There were plenty of cheap parking lots around the venues so we didn t have any trouble finding somewhere nearby.
This year, Distant Worlds is offering a couple performances within driving distance for us. Even though their Columbus performance is both sooner and closer, we decided to return to the Chicago Symphony Center simply because we had such a wonderful experience with this venue and the staff last time.
When I went to purchase the tickets online, I had an issue where the link was redirecting me to their episerver (the software company that manages their ecommerce) asking for a login and password... whoops! I wasn t sure if the tickets weren t on sale yet or if there was an issue with the site, so I emailed their customer service using the leave us a message chat/email box that they make super easy to find on their website, which I was very grateful for. I emailed them very late at night and received an email before noon the next day.
So, Chicago Symphony Center, I don t know how much you re paying Aislinn G., your patron services supervisor, but it s not enough. She was so helpful and seemed genuinely kind. She apologized, informed me that the glitch that was causing the issue had been resolved and conviently provided me links to both the show times for that day and their phone number to order that way, as well as thanking me for my continued patronage.
I m including this little blip because I value good service more than perfection from any company. The super quick response telling me they had /already/ resolved the problem mere hours after opening AND taking it a step further by making sure every step after was as convenient as possible is, for me, a more positive experience than if I had no issue with the website at all.
We love going here the sound is fabulous and we always sit in the terrace so you can see orchestra fro above and behind but you can see the conductors expression. Cso is an exquisite orchestra and well worth the investment for a ticket.
This place is the epitome of culture! It's a beautiful place and every seat provides an interesting view of the orchestra. I can't wait to go again. Oh and it's very close to the underground parking.
My friends and I had an awesome time at the DePaul Spring Concert here. They had a large drink selection outside the hall. Inside the theater is beautiful and it has amazing acoustics!
On this occasion we saw Star Wars in concert and as always it was amazing. Pick a performance any performance and you will not be disappointed this historic venue.
World class music experience offered at affordable prices for the tremendous performances presented. If you want an informed performance that grips your soul and is of the highest quality, this is it. Great variety of music from the classics to avante garde and even jazz and pop. Occasional pairings of music and movie or song and dance to embrace those with all kinds of music tastes.
Like a fine wine, it this magical orchestra only gets better every year. This treasure must be supported by future generations who will grow to appreciate the quality of perfection.
Some of the best music and greatest artists in the world, made accessible to the citizens of Chicago, not just the superrich! Way to go Chicago! And such a beautiful hall, with great acoustics.
Wonderful event. Premier Tuba Concerto was wonderful. We had seats in the upper balcony and atill enjoyed the performance. Did not feel we were too high or limited viewing.
This place is awesome. I went on a thursday and the conductor was Riccardo Muti. He led the chicago symphony orchestra along with a bass a soprano and two other talented singers. The performance was amazing and the place was beautiful. Great talent! The negative I found was that during the performance they leave the lights on the audience and the chairs and seating is cramped and this performance was 90 minutes long. So if you are sitting somewhere in the middle of the row and need to get up and use the restrooms or something. The people on the side have to literally get up and get out of the row or you have to squeeze through. Nice theatre and great show but very tight seating. They should renovate the seats making more spacious for the audience.
