2 Social Events on different occasions with a big gap in years at CSC has a bottleneck effect, madhouse, crowded with DIRE necessity for ventilation. It s great that there are plentiful of seating, but food and drinks are NOT allowed.

The CSO is one of the best in the World and Ricardo Muti is the principal conductor. The Grant Park underground parking garage entrance is right across the street so parking is easy and out of the weather. It is literally 40 steps from the door to the garage stairway. You are a 20 minute walk from the two train stations serving Chicago. You can also bus to/from the train or obviously cab it!

The Chicago Symphony Center is a delight. The building itself is a wonder to behold, but the orchestra will blow you away. I love music, but I typically prefer current artists that are more or less rock'n'roll, and I'll tell you, I still enjoyed this orchestra. I sat in the balcony - judging by the map, you'd think that they were bad seats, but the sound was still magnificent, and the price was even better (be warned, the stairs were surprisingly steep).
If you enjoy live music but don't typically go to an orchestra concert, I bet you'd have a good time. Check it out!

Went for the children's series. Nicely done, conductor explained it well for children to understand. Dancing from Joffrey ballet was very good. Perfect length for kids' attention span.

Riccardo Muti, the CSO and a mild evening in the windy city, what could I ask for more. I got the tickets on the spur of the moment, when I suddenly realized that it was a Gala Event which of course meant shopping. Nonetheless it was a wonderful expeirence.

Definitely pay attention to the address of the theater.
I booked a ticket online. When I went to the theater at Michigan Ave. There is no one there and the guard told the me that the concert was cancelled. The next day I called the box office (they didn't work at night), they said that show was not cancelled but happened at another place and I can't get any refund. I checked my confirmation email again. Yes there was one line saying "Harris Theater" but very small, and didn't show any address information. However down below, there was a very bold and bigger text saying "Chicago Symphony Center" and the location on Michigan Avenue. And then it's everything about the rules at the Symphony Center. Such misleading information.
Very disappointed with the experience. Hope they can improve their confirmation email and tell the guard what is really going on.

Great location, excellent sound, but that gallery seating is rough. Very high up and cramped seating with obstructed view from the railing. That said, there's a lot of other seating in the place that will improve the experience exponentially. Very friendly agents, clean and smooth operations, coat room available, good temperature (not too cold or hot during the show). The stage is versatile and accommodating to various stage setups. Pay for better seating and enjoy the evening!
