CSO delivers a consistently awesome musical experience enhanced by the venue's terrific acoustics!
Music just sounds better in a place as beautiful as this.
One of my favorite places on earth. The acoustics here are perfect, the symphony and its directors (I think I've seen three world-renowned directors now) are on almost every top ten orchestra list, and their programming is always perfect.
Fantastic experience! The Soweto Gospel choir gave a fantastic and inclusive performance. It's much different from the other concerts/symphonies that happen, but still a lot of fun
Beautiful home for the Chicago Symphony, but the acoustics have been lacking since the redesign in 1995-97. The best seats for sound are in the lower balcony. Higher pitched tones are harder to hear unless you get to experience a visiting European orchestra with precise ensemble playing. The brass is hard to hear from the main floor and upper balcony sound is muffled by a huge and low overhang.
A very historic venue built in 1904. The exterior is full of masterpieces with Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert and Wagner.
Before he died, I was happy to see Ricardo Muti and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performances here. The pre-performance commentary is also good and the staff is very kind.
Love CSO programming! Went to my first movie showing/ symphony accompaniment. Looking forward to the next.
Unbelievable symphony, fifty in the world
Will defiantly go again
Very nice venue, found reasonable parking nearby. Tickets were a bit pricey, but I expected that. A very nice experience.
Beautiful theater, not the best acoustic, CSO has free concerts;)
Amazing experience. I watched Vivaldi's four seasons led by Julian Rachlin. Earlier I watched Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma.
Very nice concert of Zakir Husain and his team. Nice theater with v. Good sound quality.
Historic and beautiful venue with a great acoustic and world-class orchestra. There is no doubt this is an absolute must for any visit to Chicago!
Worth every penny,: timeless , world class performers in a superb space. Everyone should go at least once.
The CSO is world class- one of the top five in the world- And nevers let you down. Always top-level soloists. Very helpful committed dedicated Ushers and box office.
One of the world's premier orchestras, the CSO is about as good as it gets.
What is great about this place is the CSO. And the history. Honestly though, the hall is a little long In the tooth. If you ever hear the CSO in another venue you ll hear the difference. But they still sound great here. Sound quality on the back of main floor is so so. Once you get under the balcony the sound can get muted and flat. The seats behind the stage are pretty cool if you have a good conductor, but the sound is a little off as half the musicians are facing away from you. Lower balcony is best, but sound quality in the cheap seats is actually quite good.
Old school vibe and brand new music. The blend of old and new was great the night Common came. Looking forward to more like this
CSO is in my opinion the greatest symphony orchestra in the Midwest. If you haven't been to see them, you should!
I don't personally understand the appeal but if you like it they do it well
If you want to hear some of the best music you have ever heard, find some tickets and go here. You won't regret it.
The CSO is one of the best orchestras on the planet. Their performance was excellent.
Great music
Keeping quiet is key
I took my mom here for mothers day and it was the best symphony that either of us have ever heard!!! AMAZING
Amazing experience! The sound was surreal and I can't wait to come back for more Tchaikovsky
The Brahms Double Concerto conducted by Riccardo Muti was gold
Had the best night with my father. Thank you for the exceptional talent. Will return when I am back in Chicago. Definitely the highlight of my entire trip.
Incredible performance of Star Wars, A New Hope! Looking forward to our next concert.
Classy orchestra, on opening night even with a bit of color on stage.
Stunning venue. Appreciate that it can be rented out by various performance groups
Insider tip - there is a coat check on the third floor so you don t have the long lines downstairs. There is also a set of restrooms on the fourth floor.
Any program the CSO has to offer will be something special. The musicians are world class. A special gem in Chicago.
Chicago's jewel. A concert here should be on everyone's bucket list.
Beautiful venue and an incredible musical experience.
This is a great venue for music lovers to hear world class performances. We went to hear the CYSO perform and they did a great job.
Amazing performances... Breathtaking performances hall.
Love this place! We are the symphony subscribers. The customer services are wonderful and people are really polite and helpful. You will enjoy some world class performances from Muti, Robert Chen etc who are the well know performers of the world. CSO also bring some fun programs like movie series like Harry Porters which are just Amazing! Last but not the least, CSO is also focusing on culture exchange. They have been Asian countries and also bring Chinese performers to perform at every Chines New Year.
An absolutely amazing experience to listen to the music live! Beautiful place too!
Been to one event here and I really enjoyed it! The acoustics are fantastic and all of the seats are great! I would highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a good show!
Sunday afternoon piano solo concerts are excellent!
Amazing place, even in upper level, you have a greate view of stage.
The acoustics are incredible and the quality of the sound is super crisp!
Chicago Conservatory of Music Symphony playing at the Symphony Center Hidden Gem every November. Free to enjoy.
Beautiful 100 year old building. Avoid the last rows of the main floor and of the balconies. For the money you can't go wrong with anywhere in the lower balcony within the first 12 rows or so.
In my widely-shared view, the best orchestra in the world. Very good acoustics in Orchestra Hall, bu nit the best in the world.
Truly a fantastic space and ensemble. Words can't describe how great it is here, all I can say is come see/hear a concert for yourself!
It is a building with history, and the staff working there are the best!
The building was absolutely beautiful and the orchestra was perfect. Can't wait to go back.
Sound wasn't great where we were sitting but the orchestra is clearly world class and overall I like the experience
Amazing experience! I attended the Mozart concert in November. After I stepped my foot into the center, I can already felt the hospitality.
Harry Potter was amazing. Whole family enjoyed it.
They have some of the best orchestral performances. As I'm a student I've only got 10$ student tickest for some of the programs. I loved the performances a lot but I also have gotten to know that some of their seats really sock!
I like that place. I sing there for the first time and I'll continue singing there whenever there is a program.
We watched the orchestra play the soundtrack to the Chamber of Secrets. They were amazing!! The ushers were very polite in helping us find our seats. Coffee was $3 but to drink inside I had to buy a souvenir cup for $5. The coffee was okay.
Literally was sweating bullets. You need to have the temperature regulated. It had to of been 79 degrees in there. Other than that it was a lovey show.
Beautiful building. Just alot of stairs to 5th floor.
Magnificent experience! Arrive 30 min before show time.
