The best show ever! We love the CSO they are the best in the world.
I love the acoustics, but the seats need to be updated.
Great experience when in Chicago and very easy to get TO on CTA.
If you have a chance to visit Symphony Center don't miss - one of the most fantastic music venues in the world
While the acoustics are superb the days of cramming in patrons like sardines should be gone. They couldn't come close to filling the place for the "Messiah" for heaven's sake. Over priced to get young people to cramped for those of a certain girth.
Wonderful experience for the family, clean restrooms. Good customer service!
Symphony Rehearsal with conductor Muti. Beethoven's 2nd and 5th Symphonies. Very entertaining conductor and the audience hanging on to every note. Enjoyed each piece of music.
Wynton Marsalis is an icon as you know. The venue was terrific as was the performance.
Love this classy venue. Sound wise there isn't a bad seat in the house, great lighting, and that old school feel. comfortable seats and a great view of the stage from almost anywhere. We sat on the main floor but others in our family sat in the balcony and had a blast up there too.
What to say, it's one of the best symphony experiences in the US.
Our Bagpipe Band played onstage for a graduation. The place (and pipe organ) are magical
Good. But there is a woman sitting next to the conductor, listening to the music and without buying a ticket.
Great location where there is not a bad seat in the house. Located right on Michigan Avenue and across the street from the Art Institute. The acoustics in the hall are amazing as well. They offer a limited wine and beer selection for consumption during intermission. Have sex a number of performances as well as the orchestra performing the score to "The Bride of Frankenstein". Can't wait to go back for another performance.
Great concert! Beautiful hall. Historic background given in the program added to the enjoyment of the music.
Wonderful venue..wish tickets were more affordable.
So pretty Inside! If old times architecture makes you swoon, you'll have a blast here.
Great staff and audience.
How mankind should act and react to the gifts of others.
Second visit to the CSO. Such a beautiful theater. We were in the upper level and still had a fantastic view.
This theater is so beautiful inside and out. Yo-Yo Ma was amazing!
Great performance and great staff. Went for a class project but turned it into date night and had a great time!
Landmark of Chicago. Great place to take in a concert and enjoy the city afterwards. Parking easy and close.
CSO is one of the world's top symphony orchestras. We sat in the terrace seats above the orchestra--stunning. I suggest holding onto your jacket and using it as a lumbar support. The seat backs are a bit too perpendicular for my taste. Beautiful venue.
There isn't a better place in Chicago to see classical music. I've sat all over this hall, and while there are definitely good seats and better seats, there are no bad seats. Sit up close for chamber, a bit back for the full orchestra, but if you like the style this has the style.
One of the "Big 5" symphony/orchestras in the U.S. The music hall is smaller, but the symphony is marvelous, and the sound quality within the space excellent. Definitely worth a visit - a must for Chicago.
Home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, as well as hosting an ever increasing variety of jazz concerts and letting other music professionals play there, providing exposure that would otherwise not be obtainable
It's was a beautiful experience with joyful music on ears.
World class symphpny orchestra & conductor. Both are Chicago treasures!
Beautiful inside but cramped seats that should have been replaced along time ago..
Absolutely beautiful symphony center and orchestra.
Beautiful building, great sound. Felt a bit like a mountain goat getting down to my seat in the upper balcony. Holding on for dear life. Once in place it was a great show.
I mean, it's the best orchestra in the world, so yeah, definitely go.
It was an unreal experience... 110% of pure awesomeness!
The music hall is beautiful with great sound regardless of seating. And the orchestra was fantastic! Very impressed! The older style with newer touches worked very well.
A lovely date night. Its so beautiful. Don't like that you can't bring in anything other than water but I understand.
The concert was among the very best - if not the best - of the season.
This is a beautiful performance hall with a great resident orchestra.
Easily one of the top ten orchestras in the world, having won over 60 Grammy awards. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) performs all year round at the Symphony Center, except in July and August.
Fantastic acoustics. The building is a wonderful showcase for the world class CSO. I don't enjoy symphonic music as much as the Opera, so I don't subscribe. But I go to this at least 3-4 times a season. Some seats are obstructed in the balconies, but the sound is clean. If you can afford it, avoid the gallery seats. The view from the top gives me vertigo.
Great music and everyone's very courteous and professional
A fresh exiting set of musical pieces on a day when a large number of young adults were in attendance at least four or five stunning musical high moments that wowed or took the best away so much better live.
Awesome experience! If you love the Symphony this is a must see!
The music is always good. Better when maestro Muti conducts.
Great acoustics and visibility even from the second to last row in the balcony!
My favorite in Chicago. CSO with great music director Muti and the best musicians ever. Music choices do not disappoint.
Lovely acoustics and really enjoyed the terrace seating... It's like getting an inside view of the instruments and musicians!
Great show for the kids. Intro to the Symphony with the Second City crew.
Nice sounding venue. Good acoustics. Conductor is a little over the top. I expected him to break dance at any moment.
Mahler's cello concerto and the New World symphony with the Czech Orchestra - sublime
Love attending concerts here by the world-class Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the building itself is beautiful as well. The seats are rather hard and not particularly comfortable, but the acoustics and incredible music will quickly take your mind off that. My one quibble with the building is that the CSO Shop, which used to be a great place to find music-related gifts and other items, has been downgraded to an afterthought and moved to another location.
We enjoyed very much the concert celebrating100 years of Polish independence The Paderewski Symphony orchestra was amazingly good. The best part was the Tre Voci tenors singing together We had wonderful time at Chicago Symphony orchestra place.
One of the best symphonies in the world. I recommend catching a Muti performance if you can. A must do for any music enthusiast, local or visiting.
The center was a very elegant place with ushers all over the place to redirect you to where you want to go. I would recommend that seeing the CSO is definitely worth the money. I attended a concert that was just spectacular and my seats were in the balcony.
Sublime experience: Schuman violin concert in D minor. Saint Saens organ concert: impressive

Great Show this was my first time but definitely not the last
Always a pleasure to visit. Theater could use some rehabilitation.
World class symphony orchestra playing in a historical beautiful auditorium with professional and experienced volunteers' help - this is the best classical music experience you can get in Chicago!
I listened to John Williams perform his soundtracks and his violin concerto there. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra is one of the best in the world, and the venue itself is everything you'd wish from that kind of caliber (not to mention the location in the city).
Premier space for serious performances by world class artists, directors and groups. Chicago Symphony orchestra is a spot as well as institution that has impressed audiences for decades. The location on Michigan Avenue in Chicago is close to lake Michigan, the Art Institute, the Millennium Park and many other attractions. A destination in itself it will continue to please patrons for years to come.
