Start to finish amazing. It's obvious they pride themselves in service and a comfortable culture. The servers were very knowledgeable and wanted you to feel at home. But what really stood out is the food. This was one of the best meals I've had. The food is full of spice and unique flavors and done well. I had vegan dishes as well as camel, boar, and chicken. Everything was delicious!

Absolutely incredible! Had amazing service and owner interaction. Sad I didn't find this place sooner. If I could give 100 stars, that'd be my vote. Really cool display and presentation of delicious bourbon and ribs that fell right off the bone. Hurry and get here!!!

Never had Himalayan food before. Wonderful waitress explained everything to help us have an enjoyable evening. Sat outside on a beautiful summer evening . I would totally recommend this restaurant.

Must go to eatery when you re in the area. The owners are wonderful people and you can tell they put their hearts into the place. The food is delicious; they have some dishes from Burma too.

Don't be intimidated by the American & Nepalese concept, The Cheel provides a fantastic and diverse array of food choices and flavors that will satisfy almost every palate. To complement the food, the service is friendly and we'll informed and they have an excellent wine and beer selection which can be enjoyed on the outdoor patio. Highly recommended.

I've visited here a few times on the weekends. Every time I've visited the owner has done a fantastic job of ensuring I was satisfied with my visit. The food has always been good and I enjoy the live music they have on Saturdays. Whenever I am planning to grab a bite or a drink this place is a must.

Wow! We were referred to The Cheel by the lovely owners of Stagecoach Inn in Cedarburg. What a pleasant surprise in suburban WI. We sat on the patio which had these great shawls with traditional patterns to keep warm for those of us who run cooler. They had fans and a lovely breeze coming in if you lean toward the warm side. Not sure if it's just because we eat exotic cuisine from around the world on a regular basis or if it's just because we like spicy food, but we found the food to be under seasoned. I was expecting this cuisine to pack a nice punch with new flavors we are not accustomed to. The momos and aachars seemed especially bland to me despite everyone raving about them. I realize Midwesterners tend to like their meat and potatoes with just some salt and pepper, but ethnic cuisine is for the adventurous sort. I ended up ordering the intimidatingly labeled aago ("try it at your own risk"). After mixing that in with our thali, both my husband and I were pleased. I get it, you cater your restaurant to the local demographic. I would recommend the following solution: You have a staff that is well educated about the cuisine and seems to like to discuss the many options and how they advise enjoying the menu. Since it is clear you have a well trained staff and provide them with the time to discuss the cuisine before ordering, why not also inquire about spiciness and help the table to order the food in a way they will be pleased? Had I known the aago was a common addition to the cuisine for those who like it spicy, I would have used it on the momos as well. Or maybe we could order our food with extra seasoning? Overall, this is a fantastic place to get a break from the traditional steak, burger and fish fry. I think the fusion of cuisines is well balanced on the menu. I really appreciated the knowledgeable staff. Let's just put that knowledge to more use and get the flavor kick right from the start. I can't wait to come back and try out something new!

"the cheel" offers patrons an authentic immersion into the native spice profiles of Nepal and neighboring lands. Barkha Limbu Daily, restaurateur and creative power behind all that is cheel, exhibits a mastery level of care and craft regarding every entree on the menu. The addition of family reciepts, coupled with farm fresh components, lifts what some refer to as "ethnic dining" into the realm of authentic cultural experience. Furthermore, "the cheel" does not shy away from challenging proteins such as wild bore or camel, but bodly showcases how these proteins can be elevated to something extraordinary. Aside from the incredible food, the warm and welcoming staff create an environment where service exceeds expectation. I was particulary impressed with Drew K. (GM) and the drink pairings he recommended to compliment our meal. Overall, the best dinning experience found north of Chicago.

Wow!!! This was our first experience eating Nepalese food. We went with friends who had highly recommended this great little place!! What an amazing evening! Our server was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was so appealing we had trouble deciding. We were all very pleased with our choices!! Cannot wait to return the next time we are in town so we can try a few more things on the menu!!

One of the best dinners ever. Four of us decided to give this friendly, welcoming place a try. Our very knowledgeable and fun waitress, Cindy, guided us through the menu with the great advice to not worry about the names, just look at the ingredients. We all shared lamb momos, veggie samosas, paneer bhutawa and shan noodles with salmon along with a remarkable salad called lapet thoke. It seems like such a cliche to say a dinner is perfect, but this experience was just that. Flavor combinations that were a delight, perfectly broiled salmon, and a salad that complimented every bite of everything we had. Mix that with a very friendly and efficient staff and it was a very memorable experience. Will most certainly return when we are back in the area.

I had stopped in for lunch by myself. I ordered the Camel Sliders with French fries. Service was fast, server Rachael was very helpful and friendly, and the food was dynamite! Burgers had more flavor than I can believe. Fries came with a dipping sauce, and the plate had a small salad and pickle. Will definitely be back for this meal again soon!

Out of the ordinary food. Delicious flavors. Cool story. I would say the food comes out at a slower pace than I am used to but some fortunate appetizer ordering made it so that it wasn't much of an issue. It was worth it. We will be back. Lots of gluten free options as well.

Simply amazing, the fish fry is to die for and the service is stellar, we have been here more times then we can count and it's seriously the best date night spot. Jesse and his team make you feel like family!

Bartender was great; cocktails were good. We were seated for at least 15 mins before anyone came to our table and we had to flag someone down for that to happen. It took over an hour for our order to come out, including the appetizer. My husband ordered the boar and it was very good. When my dinner finally arrived, it was the wrong dish. They did give me a to-go version of close to what I ordered (I ordered the Shan Noodles with salmon; they gave me Shan Noodles without salmon), but we were still charged full price for our meal. Disappointing because it was our first night out together after having a child and friends had recommended this restaurant.

Food was very good, service was good. Dining room was loud. Not able to have a conversation. Male bartender, excellent. Female moved at a very slow pace. People are to close together for comfort inside. Outside much better. Go on a weeknight so you can enjoy it better.

I really liked the food here. They use a good combination of spices in all of their food. Spicy without all the heat. The wild boar was excellent. The duck samosas were very good. The fish fry was good as well. A little more on the pricey side but worth it. Give it a shot I don't think you'll be disappointed.

We have been back 4 times. Each time the food was outstanding, the service sincere and attentive. We always try something we have never had before. Like last night's Boar Shoulder, which was absolutely deeelicious. Jessie treats us like we are old friends. The music is always classy and makes us come by a bit later than we would normally eat. The outside patio has a secluded but unique feel. Long live The Cheel!!!!

I went here earlier today and the lady who seated and explained the menu to me was nice. I ordered their dinner special and when I received my bill it was not at all what I expected. I think there was a mistake and when I brought it up I was told of numerous upcharges. If I had known this I would have ordered something else at a similar cost. The food taste ok

Mouthwatering Nepal/Himalayan cuisine! The spices are perfectly paired. I had the lamb momos and the shan noodles. If you like the taste of Pad Thai, you can't go wrong with this dish!

We've been here before and love the food and atmosphere, but tonight was our first time with our kids. I have to say, my kids loved it as much as we do! The staff (and owner) were so welcoming (as always) but really catered to our girls and their enthusiasm really encoraged our kids to try new foods! The kids can't wait to go back!

The cheel is an absolute delight. I love making a meal of several of the "tidbits". The various momos (small dumplings) different fillings and some savory sauces. Himalayan spices are unique and worth trying. What a treat!

Always have enjoyed eating at the Cheel! Last night we tried out their new outdoor bar. The patio is relaxing and reminded me of a "down south" atmosphere. People were playing games and cards at the tables as a jazz band played. The casual menu offered sandwiches, brats and hotdogs. Should the weather change, there are heaters and umbrellas. We will have to go back and try the food soon!

This was a delightful find. From the second you walk into this restaurant there is a great fun sway (Feng shui). The bar area is open with plenty of capacity to sit waiting diners, and the wall to wall windows make the place feel very open. This was my first flirt with Nepal cooking and after looking at the menu it was difficult to choose from the wide assortment of unusual offerings. This foreign feeling of the unknown, was soon abated by a very efficient and friendly waiter (Dave) who, like a Nepalese Sherper, patiently guided us through the different sauces and the many varieties of meats, fish, poultry, and veggie dishes to select. I had the Sea Bass as a main entree' and the Samosa (duck filled pastry). The presentation was exceptional and the flavor was remarkable. We will definitely revisit to explore the many, many, interesting and exotic dishes to choose from. On Saturday at 9:00 they have live jazz bands and the place feels like a bit of California. Enjoy!

A little bit of Nepal goes a long way in Thiensville, adding some interesting spices and ingredients (curry, chutney, hot peppers) to more traditional Wisconsin dishes, like cabbage salad. Three levels of seating (inside, screened, and patio) make for many options.

Nine at night after the music in the park we walked over to The Cheel to continue enjoying the evening. We had multiple appetizers of savory dumplings filled with wonderful taste treats including camel, ginger and fresh herbs. It could not have been better. It is so fun to enjoy something different and so good.

Was great. A very knowledgeable server with authentic Nepalese food. The handcrafted cocktails were great. First time there and will be back. The fish fry was also very good if you aren't looking to be adventurous. Service was great and I look forward to dining in the 4 season room in the summer too.

Amazingly innovative and inspired menu. Cleverly contrived drinks. Live music for atmosphere. Love the outside seating area complete with ambient lighting. Very unique place that is a must try if you're in the area. Service is fantastic. I just asked the server what she recommended and had a delicious trip. Great for a small, group of friends or a romantic date out! Food is designed to be share friendly :)

Waitress knew very little about the menu - preparation, ingredients, etc. Some very strong flavors (too strong in the tea leaf salad) but excellent lamb shank, chickpea fritters, salmon was amazing (accompanying noodles also very good). Atmosphere was fun, band next door, indoor/outdoor screened patio, lively on a Friday night.
