This place is incredible!! Every T crossed, every I is dotted. The staff is friendly and attentive, everything is clean, location is central, food and drinks are excellent ( I am an ex chef). We stayed in the club level with a lounge dedicated to guests on the club level. I have stayed at other Hotels with a special level and dedicated lounge, never any that came close to the level of food and drink provided here, we were amazed at the quality of food drink and service in the club lounge, well worth the upcharge!! You will not go wrong booking here!

This place is nearly perfect with one major flaw. Everytime we turned on our tv, we watched the Belmond commercial and it was a little disheartening that there were no people of color and no women or men that weighed more than 100 lbs. This made me feel as if I wasn t welcome. Other than that, the food and drink were amazing. The massage was one of the best I ve had, location perfect, cleanliness top notch. Thanks for an amazing time but diversity and inclusivity would add to the experience.

Very well appointed hotel, great service, clean, luxurious rooms, excellent fitness center. One of the most beautiful indoor pools and spas I have seen. Excellent restaurants and excellent nearby shopping. Great location all around.

When booking, I mentioned we were staying for my wife's birthday and a concert she wanted to go to that night. When we got back they had left us a bottle of champagne and a chocolate birthday cake. We've stayed there many times and I don't know if they do this all the time, but that pretty much sums who great this place is. My wife and I were very grateful.

Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff. The nearby shopping and restaurants are fabulous. My only wish would be for somewhere to get tea in the evening, as the hotel coffee shop closes early and room service is a bit pricey. Had a wonderful and luxurious stay.

The rooms are wonderfully appointed. Every member of the staff has been very helpful and welcoming. I can't find a single fault with our stay. The venue has been great for the conference. Oh and room service is lovely, I recommend the french toast!

I stayed here June 14-15 and loved every minute of it. I can't wait to come back. The room was beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We ate at the Charleston Grill while there and the food was visually stunning as well as a delight to the palette. I recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone coming to the area.

Every moment in the hotel was wonderful. I was impressed with the decor of the rooms- elegant yet comfortable. From the rain shower and marble in bathroom to the chandelier in the room. Beds turned down nightly with slippers at foot of bed.

Location is amazing. I highly recommend paying more for this hotel and club level. You won t be disappointed.

Great.

Better hotels for the money. Location, location, location but they certainly take advantage. Pay for the cab! Then again . . . if you are into flashy, it certainly is NEW south w/o old south manners or style.

Amazing hotel! The entry driveway and lobby were beautiful, and we were upgraded for free to an amazing 1-bedroom corner suite with really great views. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was huge and really nice. Everyone we met was very friendly and welcoming, and we also enjoyed the location being right downtown between Kings Street and the Market. This is definitely a high-class hotel, and I would easily recommend it to anyone!

My most favorite place to stay in Charleston! Clean, beautiful, friendly staff, Kristina has taken care of us pool side for our second visit and the hotel made a special little cake for my birthday! We ve stayed several days and this time just a quick overnight trip and I just can t thank them enough for taking such good care of us!

Whew. Let s get this review on the road.

Whew. Let s get this review on the road.

Preface: Absolutely all staff wore masks at all times and followed social distancing guidelines. Big plus!

We came from Myrtle Beach just to relax and enjoy the area, we re new to the east coast. I chose the Belmond because it s smack dab in the center of all the shopping, good eats, and includes a spa and rooftop pool (how cool is that?)

From the moment we arrived, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. This was especially refreshing considering that my partner often gets stared at or treated differently because of his hair (he has pink dreads ) also we re black. And if you didn t know, Charleston is 90% white so we re always on our guard and making sure we watch our step.

We didn t have to do that at the Belmond. No looks, no profiling. Just great service and smiles. Bonus, the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and you will get many great pictures to post show off on Facebook. Let em know you re livin lavish!

Although we didn t have a penthouse suite or anything, our room had to be one of the best in the hotel. Our balcony overlooked King street (the major shopping street) and I could see the Louis Vuitton store directly below us. It was beautiful. I left the balcony door open the entire stay, listening to the people below and enjoying the great weather. Not a single bug flew in either.

Room service, although pricey (22% gratuity so watch out), was exceptional. Make sure you take a visit to the Palmetto Cafe for breakfast. I believe our server s name was Paul (he was bald and had blue eyes) and he was FANTASTIC! What an awesome guy! Shout out to the chef, I will gladly spend another $63 on breakfast there any day.

The ladies at the spa are so sweet and wonderful! They made booking a breeze. Please don t get me started on my masseuse. Thankfully, I am in a relationship because I was dangerously close to asking for his marital status once he was finished. Ask for Luke, I will go as far as to say Luke made sweet love to my back. My only complaint (and it s not the staff s fault of course) is that the spa is pricey. It s too bad that guests do not receive a discounted price. $165 for 50 minutes, you have been warned. $100 would ve been much more reasonable.

Lastly, let s get into the pricing. Our room was roughly about $450 a night. For that price, I do believe that at least a full, complimentary breakfast from the Cafe and some sort of spa discount should be included. Instead, what you get for that price is what I listed earlier easy access to the shopping district, a good view (and that s IF you get a balcony on King Street, not every room will have that view) and a couple of restaurants.
Belmond, if you were to ever make this change, I would definitely be back much more often.

All in all though, I had a great and luxurious experience. Belmond s staff exceeded my expectations and I will certainly be back to stay again.

Thank you!

The location is great and central to lots of great stuff. The room was clean and beautiful. Service was wonderful. They accommodated any request and were all very kind. It's great to have a pool at a downtown nice hotel. The only downside is the price is higher than other 5 star Charleston hotels.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are clean, quiet and very spacious. The pool on the roof of the 4th floor is a great feature to have during the hot days of summer.

Everything was going well until one of their employees damaged my car and broke my mirror turn signal cover. I used valet my whole stay and I informed the manager. I drive a Bentley and each part on that car is very expensive, so I asked them to check security tapes since I take care of the vehicle and I knew it had to have happened outside of my watch. Paul, the manager, took responsibility for it and comped my room the repair cost. I spent over $3500 because I stayed in "The Club", which is supposed to be better service on the top floors of the hotel. I m not upset of spending that much, I m upset that my stay was interrupted and I was still charged for valet when they damaged my vehicle. I was expecting some other kind of compensation for taking time away from my trip and future time I will spend dealing with my damaged vehicle. Also, room service has walked in on me everyday so far when I have been in the shower with my dog in the room. They disregard the signs on the door. Overall, paying nearly $500 a night isn t worth it and the room is outdated.

On the bright side, the over $1,000 I spent on room service was well spent. The food was pretty good and I didn't mind spending extra for the convenience. I spent more to stay in "The Club", which came with free drinks and snacks during certain hours. The bar tender made a decent manhattan.

This is quite a luxurious hotel and well worth the splurge. Our room was spacious and luxurious. The rooms are pet friendly. The entire staff is very friendly and approachable. Dan and Lee at the Concierge desk were absolutely delightful to work with. Mickey in the Grill made our evening very memorable. We cannot wait to come back next Christmas.

Beautiful hotel. Just driving into the quaint courtyard driveway sets the mood for a wonderful stay. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. Need suggestions on what to do, see and eat? The entire staff will gladly share their favorites and offer suggestions. Enjoy the luxury and the relaxing pace.. This is a place to remember.

Currently under construction outside, staff are very friendly and informative, super close to all the hot spots to visit in downtown Charleston. Excellent service and parking is right next to hotel, very safe area. Great restaurant attached to lobby as well as an upscale bar with a very classy atmosphere. As for the construction, they are very circuitous and don't start woring until after 9am and stop around 4-5pm so not to disturb guests. Very professional people and nice as well, stopped and asked one of the scaffolding workers what they were working on, they are replacing the slate roof. Asked if there were any places he would suggest in the area and he sent me to Theater 99 down the street, haven't laughed so hard in a long time, great comedy show.

Real estate is about Location, Location, Location. This hotel has all three attributes. Situated in the heart of Charleston, this luxurious hotel features historical charm, oversized rooms, a grand spa and pool, and a small shopping mall attached with stores such as Gucci, Louise Vuitton, and Tommy Bahamas. There is also easy access to King Street with a wide array of stores and restaurants. If you stay in Charleston, this is is the place you will want to be.

A rats nest fell through my vent in the bathroom one morning and then they switched my rooms which was fine proceeded to tell me it was the same size room and it was smaller as I called back and a little upset as I was at 4 in the morning they made me feel lower case. So I proceeded to get a new hotel room at the Bennet which is a lot nicer. I couldn t check into my hotel until later that afternoon. So I sat down at the bar had a few drinks. I was surrounded by managers and it was weird as soon as my cousin picked me up they told me I had to leave
