Service and staff was great. The view of the harbor was amazing.
Wonderful place, great service, and lots to do. Expensive. There are quite a few wakes.
The bartenders are great, the fellow guests are nice too. The front desk was great. My room on the other hand.... I booked "the secret room". There was nothing secret about this room. It did have a decent view. My plug in, in the bathroom was falling out. I could press it back into the drywall. They lowered the curtains covering the windows and forgot the paint back over where the brackets used to be. They also didn't fill the drywall where the old screws were. The walls had water stains coming down from the vent register. The walls had steel beams and the only way I know that is because where the paint was chipped, it had rusted. If I could upload he photos I took for proof, I would. I don't think I'll be wasting my money here again.
We are staying at the marina for a few nights and can't tell you how happy we are with the service and amenities. We tried docking but was having issues with only one person at the helm and no one to throw out fenders, Lulu sprang into action and jumped on the boat changing out the fenders with Liz fought keeping the boat close to the docks! You both were awesome!
My only very minor complaint is there is not a designated area to walk the dogs and the distant to have to walk them. We don't have any issue with the distance but for some, I could see it being one. Thank you for your great southern hospitality.
The Pates
The Fish House was decent. The view out into the harbor was amazing!
We went on the spiritline harbor tour. It was fun and informative. Good family activity!! We will go again!
They advertise what they want you to see. The actual Resort is much smaller than this photo, however it is next door
Beautiful resort right on the water with some great views and a nice restaurant within walking distance, my only gripe would be that the pool is too kid safety oriented as I like pools with a deep end.
Pretty fast and efficient, considering how many people they have to process.
Beautiful hotel with fantastic views of the marina, City, and water. The staff were very helpful and did their best to make our start enjoyable. For the price, this hotel is not up to The level of service, quality, an amenities compared to other hotels in the same price point was sub par. Our room was clean and very nice looking. The only negative comment I have is our ceiling fan in the room didn't work. I feel like this hotel should be in the low $300s per night after all taxes and fees instead of the $400s range.
For the price they make you pay we are really upset the way the place looked..... And the way they changed us $34.00 for using our debit card... It was crazy.... Here are some photos of the Resort cob web with dead bugs.... Fire place that didn't warm the room... Table in sitting area almost cut my wife... Trim missing.... Dirty floors... Cracked sink... Bathroom door won't close and lock.... Dent on corners... Paint drips on different walls.... Can go on but why you get my drift I'm disappointed... Wantedy wife to have a wonderful weekend..... Stage 4 lung cancer and she wanted to have a great weekend and see the angle oak tree while there she loved the tree....
Never went inside. We were there for a concert in the field and went walking over there to kill some time.
Resort setting with lack of attention to details. For the price of the rooms, they need to step up their maintenance program. Our room had a 12" crack behind entrance door on wall, the sliding door latch was pulled out of wall, and the shower head would only make a "stream" of water. Sliding door blew open during night, because the latch was broken, and shut the heat off. Bathroom was extremely small.
We have stayed here a dozen times and it seems that the quality is going down hill. We love the area, but we won't pay a premium to stay here any more:(
The Charleston Harbor Resort is AMAZING! The rooms are huge, news and very nice! All rooms face the Charleston Harbor marina. And it's right next to Patriots Point!
Incredibly average experience for the cost. Upon checking into our room, discovered that our ac in the ceiling was leaking water all over the place. It was seen as an inconvenience to ask them to address it. It was even out of question to ask for a different room. The ac continued to leak throughout our stay.
Very nice, new hotel. The pool is beautiful and has a decent view of the marina.
We love being able to look out our windows and see the water and beach. Also in our view, we can see the pool. The weather is hotter than we are used to, but it's a nice change.
I didn't stay here cuz I live in the Charleston area. I was here for a eclipse viewing party and it was awesome.
Attended a concert here, perfect venue, would come to more events here. Have stayed here as well. Rooms are small for room price, but the views can't be beat. Have attended 2 weddings here as well, which were great.
The only good thing was the tiny beach. My hot tub is cleaner after 10 kids then this one. It sounds like a vacuum cleaner. The rooms give you a headache feel. It was so bad we had to go to another hotel!!!! Rooms are super small!!!!you can save $200 and get a bigger room at the holiday express!!!
Four mornings in a row with no hot water. Front desk is quick to reply with an apology, but nothing has been done to correct the problem. Everything else was great, but over shadowed by cold showers. If your going to stay here, I recommend bringing a hot plate and pot to boil your water for a relaxing bath.
Our room was a four-star the pool was a four-star The View was a four-star the the food was good but too expensive.
Bit out of the way, but price is right. Don't bother yourself with the seafood restaurant next door. It's aweful.
Beautiful hotel and grounds, once you stay there all other hotels will be a let down .
Nice place to have a wedding. Nice pool. Little expensive but over all satisfied
It was great but the bathroom didn't have a fan so the room got unbearably humid every time i took a shower. Maybe mine was just broken idk.
Great stay with beautiful views and exceptional hospitality!
I was mainly coming through to check out the Marina for sightseeing and stopped here for a moment. I love the whole harbor in general! Friendly people and a wonderful view!
Amazing view from our balcony, polite and helpful staff, lots of things to see and experience within walking distance. We will definitely be back!!
Long walk from transient dock to restroom, showers & laundry. Nice, helpful staff.
This is an amazing resort! We spent 6 days there and couldn't have been happier. The resort and grounds are beautiful. The staff are friendly and accommodating to us. We came for Charleston Race Week. Lots of family and friends in and out of our suite. Everyone had a great time. I had a facial at the Spa. Loved Dori who gave me the facial. Took the trolley into Market st to shop. The views are amazing. We won't stay anywhere else when we come to Charleston.
Beautiful location. Room could use a little paint, but still a beautiful resort.
Friends and I booked services at the spa and then planned to enjoyed some pool time. For a Saturday that was absolutely packed, they had one maybe two pool waitresses. The one we had could have cared less about her job. She was rude and lazy. Our finished lunch plates sat for two hours until seagulls came and started eating them and spilled our drinks - we threw them away since our lazy waitress wouldn't consider clearing any plates or empty cups. We wound up closing our tab with her and just walking to the bar. The pool was filthy. Not only was it murky but had stuff floating all in it like it hadn t been cleaned in awhile. There were kids throwing hard plastic balls that hit our group multiple times before we had to say something to the parents - the pool staff did nothing and had no signs about throwing things in the pool. The massage was supposed to be 50 minutes and didn t go one minute over 40. I asked for a little more pressure and was given none. There were several 20-30 second pauses while she was massaging me where her one hand just sat still doing nothing and her other was most likely texting - highly disappointed. I am a firm believer that cell phones should be left outside a massage room considering how exposed you are. I will not be returning. Perhaps if you have lower expectations or aren't used to good service this is your place. Not sure how it even has a 4.2 review.
Comfortabke room. Great water pressure, air conditoner works great. Close to aircraft carrier. Fish house on resort has great food. Beautiful shrroundings. Comfortabke beds and pillows. Love it
Wish we had stayed at the Beach Club where they have room service, but otherwise it was comfortable.
Room was musty and in disrepair, poor ventilation, loud HVAC system. The free WiFi is useless. Overpriced, over rated. I've stayed in hotels half the price that were twice as nice. Keep looking
We highly recommend Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina to all of our fishing charter guest. Great location, on site restaurants and bars. A lot of our corporate parties stay there for the convenience of the location and marina.
The resort is in a good location right on the water and across the bridge from historic Charleston. Friendly check-in and clean rooms.
Attended party at the point when Sol Driven Train was playing, perfect sized crowd and venue was great.
If there was a negative I would select that one. For starters... it two days to book the room. Getting the staff in reservations to call be back .... unreal. It took days !!! That should have tipped me off. No apologies to boot. Then we arrive after a 5 hour drive... just in time for dinner. At check in i asked the front desk about the fish house. She said it was amazing ...I asked if i was dresses ok and if they took reservations. She said yes and no just walk in.
So we walked in and they very snooty hoste ... emma i think said that there was no room. Though there were tons of open tables. She said it would take 30 min.... so we came back
.. at the 7:30... which was 30 min later.
She then said i am sorry. Our kitchen is backed up. I said im sorry am i not dressed well enough. She said i was fine....
I said then what is it. She did not offer to seat me and advise it would be slow.
Just horrible service !!! All around. The entire resort. We bought a house in Charlotte and drove down for the night !!! Never again... I refuse to be treated like trash by a host !!! Though the entire resort seems to think we as guest should cater to them.
Nope nope nope !!!
Music was late and loud. Discourteous crowd and $$$ expensive.
The resort is beautiful! It's walking distance from major attractions and offers a water taxi right into downtown Charleston. We also got to be apart of the burger eating contest!!!
Paid for a harbor view for 2 nights. The room, faced the pool/alley and not the harbor. Small bugs and long hairs were left in the bathroom. The nation door was damaged and did not close properly. The a/c leaked all over the floor overnight and left a very slippery puddle. The room 2 doors away from us had a loud party that could be heard up till 1am. We asked to be moved to a more appropriate location for the price we paid and they were able to do so for our 2nd night. The 2nd room has an amazing view and is much more comfortable. Ironically, the bathroom door is damaged and does not close properly. The restaurant and bars due to covid had strange and confusing hours but seemed overall nice. Prices were a bit on the higher side for average concoctions but expected for a resort setting. The pools, beach, access to activities, and general environment were enjoyable. Staff at the front desk were less than excited to hear my complains and begrudgingly accepted responsibility but seem less than enthusiastic in correcting the problem. Actual quote of front desk for the air conditioner leak/slippery puddle: " yeah they all do that, just put a towel down"
Could have been better, we may try again after covid but for the area there are better places to stay with more reasonable rates.
Decent hotel, room was a bit dated. The sister hotel, the beach club, is much nicer
This will be our last stay at Charleston Harbor Resort. We have stayed 6 times now, each time the quality has deteriorated. The 3rd room they moved us (on this trip) into finally had working A/C, but was somewhat dirty. This was not the first time we've had a/c issues. The carpet and paint are updated in the building, but the utilities most certainly are not. The new security gate at the entrance is a nightmare, all automated and does not work properly. My wife and I had to get out in the rain several times and manually open the gate for a line of cars. Room/gate keys failed several times and we have to go back to the desk for new ones. There's now a steep parking fee on top of an increased Resort fee. The staff is friendly enough, but the resort has lost it's way, we have previously brought/reffered friends and family, but no longer feel comfortable doing so. We now recommend looking elsewhere if staying in the Charleston area, sad to say goodbye but enough is enough.
Beautiful place with water front views, awesome amenities, visited shortly after opening up from pandemic. No daily housekeeping, but got fresh towels when needed. Only caution is check your statement at checkout to make sure no extra charges are on the room.
Great staff; very clean rooms; awesome views of the river from our room with balcony; very nicely decorated room.
Very friendly. Very convenient location. Nice place.
A beautiful place to stay. Has good views. A prefect place for a honeymoon or anniversary.
The marina is very nice and we really enjoyed the pool and tiki bar
You would think you get better service for $300 a night! Our server poolside ingored us and wouldn't get us a drink. We flagged down another server and he said he would get ours. We ended up having to go to the tiki bar to get our own drinks. Our server then continued to wait on people around us, so we flagged someone else down. As he was helping us, she came over and said we were in her section. When I spoke with management, she sort of laughed it off and sent the server over to apologize. They asked if we needed anything and got us another round of drinks. They charged us for that rounD! We had to move sections so that we could get service.
I called guest services when we got back to the room. They transferred me to the voicemail of the director of food services. When he never called back, I called guest services again and then she sent him an email. I called back a few hours later and she told me that they never promised that he would get back to me. She said they were too busy dealing with events to deal with me.
I called back the next day and asked to speak with a manager about the ordeal. He told me that he was sorry and would have to research it further. He took down my name. When I asked if he needed my number, he asked what for. He said he didn't plan on contacting me.
I can't believe the level of customer service and the poor management for a hotel that charges over $300 a night! All we wanted was service!
The room decor is night, and the boardwalk provides a nice view at dusk. They provide bikes for rentals that will allow you to ride around town so you can see more of the city.
Great hotel, friendly staff, conveniently located and designed
This place is a hidden gem go if you just want to relax nice vacation spot
The room was nice and the bed was comfortable but the bathroom needs to be cleaned and painted a little better, maybe upgraded a little more as well. For the money spent for the room I was expecting more. Otherwise the view is great and it was very relaxing evening!
Very nice property, excellent service. Someone from Romania checked us in. She was awesome. Just finishing up a one year hospitality training.
We stayed at the Beach Club for 3 nights. The staff was friendly, the room was clean, and the area is nice. We came to visit Charleston and ended up liking Mt. Pleasant a lot too. We would stay here again.
Very scenic location and fairly close to downtown. The staff are friendly and the hotel and rooms look fantastic. For those that love their electronic devices though, there is a definite shortage of available outlets and it would be generous to say the wifi is spotty.
Place is beautiful.....but most of the staff are very rude and stuck up. The rooms are over price for what you get! You spend a lot on your room then have to pay for parking. You have to pay for all meals. And when I say parking I mean $25 a day and your meals are around 50 a person. We had to ask for someone to change our sheets and still found hairs on them from other people. Then I found someone had used my Mary Kay products up when I returned. I didn't try and say anything bc how rude most of the people where at the front desk. Will not be going back!
Just finished staying there over the 4th weekend. First our room wasn't cleaned each day. I had to ask for it to be cleaned the after the first night stay and then it was never cleaned after that. Rooms were worn and need updating and thorough cleaning.
Pool was way short in chairs and the hot tub was nasty and closed the majority of the time.
I will never stay there again.
Nice hotel, comfortable room, great customer service.
The resort is amazing!!
The staff is so helpful and happy!!
Our 1sr time here and definitely want to come back!! Our room was absolutely amazing and beauti ful
Ooh and the views from the room are incredible!!!
