This hotel was wonderful. Huge bathrooms, with tub, 2 sinks, makeup area, with chair. Glass shower door, not a curtain.Decor is very tasteful, bedding, you can just feel the thread count, amazing. We had a fireplace in our room. Desk with hand painted art on it.
Super clean, very specious rooms. Great balcony. Overlooks the marina, harbor. They have watertaxi, right there. Also they have small trolley that can drive you to old town.
Restaurant next door, as well as a store/ gift
I can't wait to go back, and stay here again

The resort itself is very nice. I stayed on the Harborside which is the older of the two. Staff was very nice, rooms were comfortable and nicely styled. My biggest complaint and why I am knocking off 2 stars is because of the resort fee and how it was handled when I asked about it. $28 a day...during the off season...when the resort was basically closed. So I asked what I get with that fee? Gym & Parking (I did not have a car) That was about it. And they just kind of said "Sorry! Nothing we can do." So be aware, if you go in the off-season, you will be paying $28 extra everyday for no reason.

Excellent customer service and beautiful location. If you go visit the upper deck of the restaurant/bar there's the most perfect view of Patriots Point and the Ravenel bridge. Absolutely gorgeous. The rooms also have a rustic beach vibe which is quite cute. The food is really good too. The only minus I would give this place is the a/c unit was quite annoying, loud and noisy whwn turning on and off.

there exists a distinct difference in between what is advertised and what actually is offered at this Resort. We had originally started off on The Harborside Resort. Although interesting terminology like quaint was used to describe the location, it would have been more accurate to use the words dated and old. There are many things wrong on the Harborside. Paint was chipped, the tubs were old and stained, the rooms are extremely small even though they were written as Deluxe. We used this opportunity to contact their customer service and see if we could be switched over to the Beachside. The experience that we've had at the beach side has been nothing short of stellar. The rooms are phenomenally decorated, very spacious, and even the customer service is miles above what it was on The Harborside. I would recommend the Oceanside Resort any day of the week and I would ask people to avoid the Harborside as if their life depended on it.

When I first arrived at this resort the staff wasn t welcoming and I soon discovered that the room I had requested was unavailable. The staff claimed the resort was completely booked, but the parking lot didn t reflect that. Having access to 3 pools was pleasurable, however the water was not refreshing. Whilst using the fitness room, I was unable to get a good workout because half of the equipment didn t work properly. After spending my days at the pool/beach, I realized that my room hadn t been cleaned in a timely manner. As well, the toilet constantly made a gurgling noise and didn t flush properly. To top it all off, parking and the amenities were a extra charge for every night of our stay. I don t recommend anyone to stay here. This place caused unnecessary stress amongst myself and my family while we were trying to enjoy a relaxing vacation.

Great location, but disappointed in the resort. It s run down and beat up. The pictures on the website look nothing like the actual place. I can probably go to the days inn with free breakfast that was in better shape. I would not stay here again and recommend they shut this down for renovations.
Update: we found black mold I the bathroom on the cabinet and floor. **very dangerous! We will be leaving; manager stated he could credit our account the resort fee (66.00) but since we booked through a third party and not directly with the hotel, he could not do anything. I certainly hope it s not in the duct work. The department if health/EPA will have to determine that. **

Exceptional harbor resort with beautiful views. I am very particular about lodging and very seldom write a review, but felt the need to do so. I was really impressed with the resort and the staff. Harborside Charleston is a beautiful resort with friendly staff and located right on the harbor. Our check-in was easy and we were even able to check in a little early. We booked a deluxe room with partial view and balcony. The room was clean, beds are comfortable, and larger than I expected with an amazing view of the harbor. There is plenty of storage in the deluxe room. The bathroom was clean; the only issues that I noticed was a small amount of rust on the metal rack in the bathroom and the pocket door is very heavy for children to pull shut. Also, we had to ask for more towels, but the staff was very accommodating. The pool is very nice and overlooks the harbor. There is also access for the sister property's (Beach Club) pool only a few steps away. There is plenty room for parking; the cost is $12. There is a lot of shops and restaurants within 2.5 miles of the property. The Fish House restaurant is within a short walking distance. This is a great place to stay. I would definitely stay again.

The room was filthy. Even after being cleaned there was still trash and dirt on the floor. The sink was covered in dirt/dust and smeared tooth paste was still in the sink and hair was in the shower when we arrived. The toilet was not cleaned before our arrivals and was not cleaned during our stay. The bedding was falling apart and the dust ruffle was torn and falling off the bed, making the whole bed look cheap and trashy. There were dust bunnies in every corner and around the bottom of the dust ruffles around the entirety of both beds. I locked myself out of the room and asked for a key at the front desk...she didn t ask for my name or photo ID, she simply asked for the room number and she made a copy of the key. We won t be returning.

Not worth it. The will file your credit card for incidentals and charge you $128.44 for a room you never checked into that was booked on a company card. If you have stayed here review your bill and all charges.

Accommodations were not as luxurious as I expected. One would think that if you book a king deluxe room that it comes with a harbor view and balcony.....not all rooms do, so specify at check-in. Some are parking lot view and for that price it's disappointing. Awkward doors on bathroom do not allow for easy open and close.

Why would you advertise fire pits and smores, then never light the fire (I did it myself at the fire pit I was at and so did people at other pits) and then make it difficult to find where to buy smores stuff.

Not worth it.

Not worth it.
View was great and the Beach Club pools were great.
Harbor rooms were extremely small- not what are pictured on their sight, toilet stopped working, extremely dirty, overpriced for what you re getting, and you could hear everything that went on in the hall.
Will NOT recommend. Yikes!

We hosted our destination wedding at CHR&M on April 19, 2019 and worked with Kaitlyn one of the resort s event coordinator. At times communication was slow and delayed throughout the planning process, however the staff and Kaitlyn proved to be adaptable and prepared when our day of plan was altered because of severe weather that moved everything inside. The resort is a beautiful venue and the staff does take pride in making your event and stay as comfortable as possible. Our guests we very happy and said the food was delicious!

Absolutely wonderful stay. Terrific location so close to popular locations. The water taxi was also lovely. A little disappointed the $30 upgrade ended up being much more after extra taxes and surcharges on it. Definitely was not worth it for a faux fireplace and different view. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

I ve stayed here twice. The outside is beautiful. I love the location. I enjoy riding my bike over the bridge. Tomorrow I m going to take my son to Patriots Point (military museum locates on an air craft carrier beside the resort). The staff is friendly. They were happy to accommodate a request for a late check out at no charge. It s nice to have a fridge in the room. The pool also looked inviting and located beside the harbor which is pretty.
But the rooms are looking a little dated. The bathrooms could use a heavy dose of bleach. The king room is spacious and nice. But the double queen room is cramped (and not just because there are two beds; the rooms are actually smaller).
Lastly, I haven t taken it, but it is my understanding that there is a harbor taxi that will take you to Charleston that leaves from the dock behind the hotel. I believe it s free.

So very accommodating. We were booked i n a standard room, but when we arrived we were given a complimentary upgrade to a room with balcony and harbor view. Such wonderful amenities and so very clean and comfortable.

Found it on Hotels Tonight so got a very good deal. We much enjoyed our time there. They have free hourly shuttles to downtown Charleston. Very nice front desk staff. Nightly bonfires. Breakfast not included but not a problem for us. Very clean. Easy free parking.

Have stayed here twice. I would recommend always getting a balcony room that looks out to the Charleston Harbour. This was consistently interesting and provided free entertainment as the view was beautiful by itself but the activity on the water ranged from pleasure boats and jet skis to Coast Guard water operations exercises, dinner cruise vessels and the occasional huge, and I mean HUGE cargo ships coming into the harbor. Makes for a fun evening after returning to your room. Pairs nicely with a bourbon.

We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was good, a bit pricey. There is a sandy waterfront beach but it's NOT for swimming, just for the view and playing on the sand. There is a nice waterside bar and live music on many nights. The resort's water taxi is an easy, stress-free transit across the harbor to downtown Charleston and yay, no designated driver needed.

I recommend staying here for a few days if you can. Enjoy!

My family traveled here for a wedding just a few weeks ago. Were were excited for a hotel just off the beach! When we arrived at the hotel, it was well air-conditioned and clean. We checked in, got to our room, and it was a very cute room. The issue we had though is that the room was not well taken care of. There was a large dark stain on the carpet, the door to the bathroom was a sliding door that didn't close all of the way, and the bathroom has absolutely no counter space. The TV was made to look like a flat screen since it was inset, but we don't think it was at all. They had no HD channels so the picture was very fuzzy and hard to see. When we opened our curtains we had a view of the parking lot, not exciting at all.

During our stay, the power went out at night for 3 hours! We had no air conditioning, TV, or anything. The room got very hott and stuffy in the South Carolina climate. We never heard any reasons for it going out nor did we get an apology or anything like that for the major inconvenience it caused us.

Upon checkout, we noticed that the hotel charges an additional $40/day in taxes, accommodation fees, and for "amenities". The Amenities charge was $12/day for wi-fi and bicycle rental. Basically, when you use them or not you are charges and its pretty ridiculous.

Overall, the experience was not so bad it deserved a 1 star, but we were unhappy overall. I hope this helps!

Staff was great, room was clean, but the bathroom was odd. The door was very difficult to open and shut because it was on a track but had no handle. The bath itself had what I typically would expect the direction for hot and cold water to be reversed. Pool area and faux beach out back was also very nice. An evening stroll down the marina boardwalk was a great end to the day. I found myself wishing the room had a microwave in it.

I was on a business trip and really enjoyed my stay at the resort. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and very spacious. They have a great little gym on the ground floor and a beautiful pool area- that I didn t get to enjoy. Every morning I got up and took a long walk around the marina. It s just beautiful. I will definitely stay again

Our wedding day was absolutely perfect! Everyone of our guests were impressed with the quality of the hotel and its beautiful surroundings. The staff was amazing to work with and Kaitlyn was an absolute gem during the entire planning process. We can t wait to come back and visit year after year!

My family and I had to wait an hour for our dinner at the Reel Bar.... An hour! Then the next morning at 8:00 the drilling and banging begun. When I called down to the service desk I was told it will continue. I m so disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice place, brightly colored room was a treat, good views of the harbor. Check in was delayed for an hour, a little aggravating. Food was great, best corn bread starter was best I've ever had. Pools were really nice, 4 to choose from. Activities on site was nice. NO HBO, to watch game of thrones ending, grrr. Will stay here again, love the area.

Only had one wash cloth, we had to ask twice for more on 2 separate occasions. The refrigerator had leaked water when we arrived, maintenance came, but no one to clean up. The room floor was never cleaned during our stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! Too pricey for what you get unless you want to stay outside the whole time you are there. If they put the time and energy on the interior as they did the exterior. The room we were in was filthy. The duvet had stains on it everywhere. The grout in the bathroom was black it was so dirty. The soap dispenser didn t work and was never fixed. The sink did not drain. The light fixtures were burnt out. The floors hadn t been cleaned. The clock wasn t even plugged in. The ceiling fan didn t give off air because the blades were warped from the outside humidity. We were only there 2 nights. The food is way overpriced. We will not be back!!

The hotel was pleasant and the staff were very helpful. The shuttle bus service to the city is great. My room lacked a desk which was a surpise. Breakfast was 500 metres down the road in the Fish House. Excellent food, also for dinner. The pricing was incomprehensible. Every day we were charged different amounts for the same breakfast. The hotel voucher system is likely incomprehensible; I had a 10 dollar breakfast, a 12,5 dollar voucher and ended up paying 6 dollars without having ordered extras. No explanation from staff. On other days the same voucher had suddenly transmogrified into a 10 dollar voucher. Beware!

There is no breakfast buffet so don't be in a rush. Breakfast is excellent but it takes >1h when there are >10 guests inside. This is partly because the layout of the restaurant is inefficient. Much time is lost by staff having to cover large distances. If you have the time than that's the place to be for good food.

For a four start hotel, we were expecting a little more from our experience. The hotel hallways were dirty with food and stained carpets, and we made a reservation for a room with a view of the harbor only to find a view of shrubbery and bushes when we checked in. When I asked at the check-in desk if there was a difference in what they charge for rooms with a harbor view vs. those without, they said that harbor view rooms are more expensive. When I pointed out that we were charged more for a room with a view and ours didn't have one, they offered a 10% discount on our room. Why wouldn't they offer us the non-view room rate instead? Thought that was kind of cheap and not quality service. Make sure if you reserve a room with a view, you ask if the room actually does have a view or it's blocked by bushes. Rather disappointed with our experience here but will have to say the grounds and outside decor were pleasing.

Love it

The room is clean but small for the price. Bad shower design let's a lot of water get on the floor which is a hazard. This is definitely a money grabbing hotel. No breakfast included even have to pay for toothbrushes and toothpaste if you didn't bring any. Very few free amenities.

Great location. Stayed in older section. In need of much maintenance and updates
Room not cool. No drink machines on floors. No where to get coffee in resort without dining. Additional fees once checked in. We gonna make best of it but not worth the money. New pools nice but not 4 or 5 star....No way! Finally moved our room after water from a.c. poured on my child from.maintenance man. Front desk and staff nice but all the,way around a bad experience.

When you throw an event, you probably should know how to actually handle the people who show up. Blocking everyone from entering and saying you're at "full capacity" while groups of 20+ people are leaving every few minutes isn't an excuse. Also the sad excuse for a manager kept running away and leaving frazzled employees to deal with customers. Terrible venue with terrible management and I will not be returning.

Got a room here so we could catch our cruise boat the next morning. Location convenient. The room was nice enough although overdue for updating and refreshing. That explauns the online special rate we got. Lots of amenities we didn't get to take advantage of. January is too cold for swimming even in S.C.Would recommend this place in the warmer months for sure.
