The guided tour is a must if you are passionate about science! The tour is very well organized with different exhibits showing several of the ongoing studies at cern. In addition, our guide was a former researcher who worked here who was able to explain to us wonderfully the work carried out at CERN.

This place is the dream of every engineer or physicist. I really wanted to visit with all my desire and fulfilled my dream. Unfortunately I could not enter the tunnels underground because they perform maintenance of the systems for a few months and precise was during my stay. But the visit was amazing, the guide was a physics teacher who spoke English and Italian and explained part by part and the process of expansion of this complex laboratory. A recommended visit for those who love science.
Hopefully a black hole comes out that sucks all this marabunta of ignorant. The end of the world happens every day and we are all guilty. There is no god or satan, there are only humans.

CERN museum can be passed and then shopping can be done. If you want to use public transport, you can reach the center of Geneva by tram.

Unbelievable space. If you are interested in physics, it is worth visiting. The biggest research on particle physics is here, incredible experiments that can be explained to you by those responsible, and if you are lucky enough to watch everything. If you are near to go from here, you will not regret it at all, it is a unique experience.
Romantic city. Very impressive landscape with both sea and mountains! Delicious food, try osmizas!. On the boarder with Slovenia and Austria, so in Trieste you can experience a mixture of different cultures. I would define Trieste a "must go" city, also nice because it is a city not crowded as Venice or Florence, so you can appreciate in relax all the cultral stuff in it ;)

Never had so much fun splitting atoms! The black hole was the coolest part once we fought the aliens back into it. Next time I won't get so drunk. Hot broads too!
One of the highlights during our trip. Just think that below you is the world's largest particle accelerator AND is being used as we walk around the facility. It's mind blowing. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. I highly recommend this tour and get your science-nerdiness on.
Visit quite thin ... Not that it is not a good experience but all the boast that they did not reflect the truth especially because after a visit I did not understand the basic concepts that the guides have tried to explain about the laboratory ...
The CERN exhibition still opens on Saturdays and it is free. That was fun and there is a souvenir shop!

Interesting but to be honest didn't see that much except for a couple of videos and an empty control room. The LHC was shut down at the time, you'd think the ideal time to go below and actually see some of the incredible machinery. Drove from Spain to see a couple of videos basically.

One of the top priorities when you visit Switzerland Geneva! You have to visit and register for a tour to discover more about Cern one of the biggest organisations for nuclear research in the world. I both visited it and worked there and it was a huge experience for me.

This place was awesome. I missed out on the tour because online the days that I was planning to be there were booked. When I got there, the lady at the front desk told me that they usually have a couple spots open. I'd recommend that you pre-register, but if you're in Geneva right now, take the metro up there and try to sign up in person.
I was only able to visit the two museum areas. Both were pretty cool and had some cool things. My girlfriend even seemed to like it because it looked like it was designed by Apple.
It was great the tour guide was fantastic and had so much fun. We had a brief semester about history of CERN, and their next step. But if you don t have a tour or anyone who works there who can show you a lot about CERN then you probably won t enjoy. Oh and by the way, you can buy t shirts, eco bags, mugs, etc... and they are nerdy and not expensive at all!!

If you are in the city, it is really worth a visit to its premises.
Luckily I had the chance to talk to some of the scientists. It's definitely a great place for physicists to work - if not the best!
We went to our school with high school students and we saw that we were really amazed by the great and very interesting students I thought. As a PHYSICAL TEACHER I was really surprised at me but it was a wonderful and beautiful trip ...

Tour is hard to get, but free and lead by a PhD working at CERN, so you get to ask all of your physics questions. You don't really see anything noteworthy except for the control room.
The normal non-reservation exibits are very well done. Definitely a must see if you have a few hours to spare in Geneva.
Tip: Get the basic CERN mug for 12 Swiss Franks. It's unusualy heavy and makes a great souvenir.

I was on a tour 07.08.2019. A very nice guide ..... I liked everything, organized, very exciting, still impressed. There are souvenirs. You will definitely be in Geneva (!) To visit CERN. Do not forget to read the rules for visiting shopping malls disguise sandals under closed shoes-had to wear socks)

Amazing guided tour lead by an actual physicist. Can't believe they don't charge for the tours. Just so much to learn and take in. Thankfully the tour only glanced over the main bits, but we did some exploring before the tour and asked questions on what we found. The shear amounts of data they process is astounding. Will definitely have to go back whilst the LHC is off so we can go see it. Well worth the visit.
