Has an expensive parking structure that has you paying a premium for the convenience of being right next door to St. Paul's Hospital. Rates are double the open lot a few more seconds down the street, so save some money and id youre parking for St. Paul's, go to the end of the block and on the left is a lot 1/2 the price.

Comfortable room. Great, helpful staff. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant- it was delicious. I had the corned beef hash and give it two thumbs up. The drawbacks were the long waits on the elevator and the occaisional siren noise from the medical center next door. If you use ear plugs it completely blocks it out, so it wasn't a big deal for me. The location was conveniently located to a lot of fun. I'd stay here again.

Great location but very small beds, no travel cups for the coffee in the room and a very run down and under construction pool. We specially booked it for a day of swimming and confirmed the pool was up and running before booking the room and were very disappointed.

We got free breakfast and free parking so the price was amazing for what we got. The room was huge, but a little noisy. It's beside a hospital so you may here an ambulance here and then. Bed was huge but not extremely comfortable in comparison to a hotel we stayed at later in our trip. Break fast was appropriate but don't expect a lot. The non meat breakfast was better than the meat as it's a lot of grease.

Very central location in Vancouver. Short walk from the beaches and other downtown sights. Downstairs there are two restaurants, the C Lounge and a small Cafe. The Cafe is excellent for breakfast and small snacks, and serves very good Ily coffee. The rooms are clean, and my suite came with an inflatable bed included. The kitchen lacked paper towels, however.

I was here for a professional conference and staye...

I was here for a professional conference and stayed as an overnight guest. The hotel was very nice, with a few minor negatives. One was the temperature - the whole hotel was very hot, and I say that as a woman who is always cold. We were all sweating at the conference, and I had to open windows in my room to fight the heat. Similarly, the shower had poor temperature control - it seemed like my choices were either scalding beyond where even I am comfortable, or with the cold tap turned a half turn instead of a quarter, freezing. My last negative is about the conference food - it seemed like the hotel did not/wasn't able to handle special food needs, at least on the budget my group had. (An academic conference, so likely the lowest price range). I personally have a lot of allergies and asked the organizer ahead, and they weren't able to make me anything - totally fine; I'm a pain. But I did notice that there didn't seem to be a gluten-free or vegan options at either lunch - those folks had to make do with lettuce and crudites. Overall though it was a great experience. My bed was really comfy, and I ended up in a huge suite I didn't have enough time to fully enjoy. One great perk - I was able to pass on maid service, and in return, got a $5 gift card which was just enough to get me a scoop of yummy gelato from the hotel coffeeshop. ^_^

Beautiful view, great service, and comfortable beds. The restaurant is nice with quick bites, and a happy hour. I was surprised that items like toothbrushes weren't complementary, but was told they cost $7 from a vending machine. The clerk advised me to walk down the road and get a 99c toothbrush from the 7-eleven.

Pros:

Pros:
Lobby is exceptionally clean and gorgeous - almost looks like a 5 star hotel
Very good location

Cons:
1. Room carpet is filthy.
2. They charge you extra for parking ($12.5 per night) - they don't even tell you that until you check out. At that time they will say that they are sorry for NOT mentioning that earlier, but there is nothing that they can do about it except for being sorry. Their excuse is that they have new staff.
3. I booked a room with two double beds and got one with a king bed - was very inconvenient for me. They said they were "sorry" but they were completely full.
4. The bathroom fittings are pretty old, and crappy.

Overall - I would never go back to this place again. For the amount I paid (plus the parking) I could have gotten a far better deal.
Stayed April 2007

Great hotel near the centre of Vancouver. Easy walking distance to the tourist information and Canada Place. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Our only down comment would be that you have to be tall to use the room safe effectively.

Employees feel good too
Bed was soft and was easy to sleep
The bathroom and bathroom threshold are only curtains so that bath can be put alone
The key to the door to the bath can be opened with a single coin, so it may be a bit bothersome to go with the prank like w

AWFUL! STAY AWAY!

AWFUL! STAY AWAY!
We booked 2 rooms on the same floor, and upon confirmation we were told check in was at 3pm. We get there shortly before 3pm, and we're told "check in is AROUND 3pm." Ooook...Well I suppose we'll wait. For 40 minutes. To get into the first room. We had to wait an extra 30 minutes to get into the second room.
(quick backstory...we were 2 small families, with 2 toddlers, who needed naps, at 3:15. We had to put the kids down in the room and LITERALLY hang out in the hallway waiting for the second room to be ready)
We were trying to voice our concerns with the hotel manager/shift manager (not sure which) and not only would he not leave his desk to speak to us face-to-face, he seemed to be offended at the very notion that we weren't happy with the situation.

Anyone who has been here will know about the absurdly slow elevators (of which there are 4, but never more than 2 running...) we mentioned the elevators to him, and our many conversations with other frustrated hotel patrons as we waited between 5-15 minutes at a time for an elevator... And he was incredibly rude and sarcastic when telling us to take it up with the owner of the building. Really. Customer service!

You get what you pay for. If you enjoy snippy sarcastic service, waiting forever everytime you want to use an elevator, and checking in +/- an HOUR of your confirmed time, by all means, book this place.

I wish I stayed home.

Wonderful customer service. Friendly and accommodating. I loved the view from the 9th floor.
Sorry to say, there were stains on the carpets, the bath tub drained slow and the bed could have been more comfortable. Over all....a very nice stay :)

We went here for our anniversary and really enjoyed it. The hotel helped me with all the booking process and when we were accidentally woken up early by housekeeping the management went out to their way to do something nice for us (breakfast at their amazing restaurant). The restaurant and spa was phenomenal, and the king suite was huge.

One star for good staff and one star for their restaurant. If I was to rate their staff and restaurant, they would be getting 5 stars. The staff is really nice and helpful, the lobby and the restaurant look really neat and the food is great, including awesome service. But that's about it. You enter the lobby and you have the impression of a nice hotel. As soon as you go up to your room the entire impression turns 180 degrees. Seriously, I've seen much better affordable housing for recovering people than this hotel for $200 a night. Their rooms haven't been renovated since at least 90s. As soon as you enter their upper floors, you have the impression it's a cheap motel. Yes, it's literally that bad. The walls are scratched and with dents, paint is coming off, their kitchen appliances... You remember your old kitchen appliances from 90s that you recycled, hoping it would be a good deed for the environment? Good news, it ended up here and it's still working! Isn't that a great green initative? The washroom fan is louder than the jet engine during the take off. Their toilet seats have a great yellow perimeter around it. The windows are so well soundproofed that you'll end up waking up thinking you somehow fell asleep at the curbside of the Vancouver's downtown busy street. I can't even imagine how bad it must be during a cold winter. The carpet is so old and filthy that my wife reminded me every hour not to walk on it barefoot. The toilet flush stopped working TWICE in one day. Yes, twice. For the first time one guy came to fix it. He didn't say a word and left but at least he left it working for the next two flushes (prepaid top up required if you want more?). For the second time the janitor came to my room informing me the previous guy sucks and that he didn't know what he was doing. But he fixed it for my stay, thank you. I'm not overexagerating, safe yourself your time, money and the embarrassment when you wife sees the room you booked for your precious money. There are hotels around this one that are not that much more but they offer a 100000x better rooms. It's mind blowing how a downtown hotel can leave their guest rooms in such a bad condition. The pictures don't show even half of what's really there. I have an impression the owners just gave up on the hotel hoping it would be bought by a developer to build another new downtown tower.

The entrance to the hotel is lovely. We were told we were upgraded to a suite which was great but the room is very tired. The curtains have some damage to them, the walls need some freshening as does the carpet. The shower is dated and the bathroom small. There is also a distinct lack of storage space for such a large room.

Stayed here last night. Room 1201 Overall very dissapointed. Front desk staff were not the friendliest. The lobby is nice but the rest of the hotel needs updating. There is a gross smell in the hallways. The room/suite was old smelling. Bathroom is grungy. Fixtures are cheap. The furniture and drapes are 40 years old. No artwork. It just had a tired and rundown feel. Much preferred the Executive Vintage in for room quality and staff friendliness.

Lovely family owned property in the heart of downtown. Stop of the Hop On and Off bus.
Extremely clean and well-appointed one bedroom suite with a full kitche.! Only thing that surpasses property is the wonderful staff who takes care of their guests as if they are family! Highly recommend.

Located on a very busy street, so noise was a HUGE issue. With only single pane glass in the windows, you could even hear people talking and laughing as they walked by. Also, when the person above us took a shower at 11:00pm, this created a LOUD squealing whistling noise for the entire shower. Plumbing definitely needs updating.

We likely won't be back but it has nothing to do with Century Plaza. The hotel and staff were great.

The main issue is the city. It's overrun with homeless and aggressive drug addicts. My family did not feel safe and while we love the city itself and the hotel, it's just not somewhere we'd return unless the homeless situation drastically changes.

Thanks for your hospitality. You guys were great.

The lobby is beautifully decorated, but the rooms are old looking. The carpet is filthy, the air conditioning didn't work, the windows are not sound proof, and the cost for the room was nit appropriate for what you get.

Excellent service, comfortable room and very good food but it could do with smartening up in places. Unfortunately they forgot to refund our deposit deducted from our card on arrival. Thank goodness for email as they were able to remedy the problem quickly and without the need for long distance phone calls. Nevertheless, a bad mistake.
