McAlister's Corporation Review

It was a little more than we expected, but the food was really good.

The food is great. The portions are big. Most everyone had a smile on their face. We also got our food quickly.

Wow. This will be the last time I eat at the original McAlister's.
We, along with most other customers, had to bus our own tables and use napkins to wipe them down. There were very few customers, but hardly anywhere to sit due to the dirty tables. No one seemed concerned about cleaning the tables.
One table sat dirty our entire 45 minute stay. One worker did remove a couple dirty plates off it, between bringing out another customers orders.
I don't know if this store has a management problem or worker shortage, but something is wrong. A store that used to have lines out the door on Sundays after church, only had about 10 tables with customers today. I imagine the ones there today won't be back, as well.

Nice atmosphere, friendly at the register, good sandwich, great tea!

Sitting outside right now waiting on a curbside order that was made 54 minutes ago. The store is now forwarding, or otherwise not answering, my calls. Had I not paid online, I wouldn't have waited half the time. For those reading this, there is a Newks just down the road. EDIT: All of this only to get home and not have au jus with my French dip. And they STILL WON'T ANSWER THE PHONE.

This is the original McAlister's. Good food, fast enough, and the building is unique.

Do yourself a favor and get the French Dip. Big Nasty is also delicious (if not on the menu ask anyway, they know how to make it). You re welcome! Highly recommend the chili, no beans!

The broccoli soup was delicious, sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Friendly fast service.

Had an hour for lunch, with a group of 8 each ordered individually. 3 recieved food in a reasonable amount of time. 2 after 40 min, and 3 at almost a hour after 3 trips to the counter. Absolute cluster, no visible management. We weren't the only ones either. Ended up getting it to go and only 20 mon late ti work.

Mcalisters deli is go to spot great sandwiches and fixings tea is spot on

Incapable of fulfilling the simplest orders. Called in an order for chips with veggie chili and queso. Picked up, got all the way across town, and all I had was a bowl of gravy.

Called to let them know of the first mistake and that I would be back to pick it up. The manager came out to talk to me and we verified with the counter person that this was veggie chili with queso. Got back all the way across town, and I had regular chili with queso.

Called to let them know about the second mistake and asked how they were going to make it right. To their credit, they did finally fulfill the order properly and also issued a refund, but I will never go back.

TL;DR - go to Newk's instead.

A friendly down to earth atmosphere with good food. I'll definitely visit again.

the food here is delicious and of reasonable price. its the perfect kind to eat on a hot day when things are too hot to cook and you dont want anything too hot. That being said the soup that they serve here will warm you to your heart during the winter.

This place was nasty. I sat by the wall and a roach crawled on my table. UGH! I won't go back.

They out source their call in orders!
Unfortunately, the out source switch board is out of country! ! They don't speak good English! !
Which explains why we couldn't recognize the sandwich I ordered after we got home.
Won't try that again! !

Great food and friendly staff, atmosphere is fun especially with friends.

Never order online. Sat in car and waited an hour for a paid online order. As I watched people go in and get their food and come out before we got ours.

Chicken Club, fresh, good, nice people working there, fast service. Clean restroom.

This place was probably the best deli I've been to. I got the chipotle chicken sandwich and the sauce was so good. My wife got the New Yorker which was also very good (perhaps a little too much meat on it). It was a little pricey, but it was very good.

Every time I call in an order they get it wrong. Be sure to check your carry-out order before you leave

Pretty neat experience because it is the first of many McAlister's and the staff is generally faster here than at other locations.

Deli with a unique selection of sandwich choices which I always enjoy during my dine in experience. Generous serving portions with delicious bread, freshly baked desserts that are quite tasty, great customer service, friendly and fresh ambience. Sandwiches can be a bit pricey. Take a bite, you'll sure to love it.

They employees all wore masks and wiped the tables down after each use (even outside tables). They were also extremely friendly

McAlister's is a great place to go with friends. The food is really good and fair priced.

Best tea in town. But the service has gone down the last several times we've been in as well as slow and we never go during peak hours. I'm even more disappointed since they took the muffuletta off the menu

3 out of 5 trips results in the order being wrong in some way. How the hell do you read cheddar broccoli soup and give me chili? Can you not read?

Better than your average McAllister's. This location in Oxford beats every other I've been to

Loved the food. Lots of tastes, lots of flavors, priced reasonably. Their Reubens are unbeatable!

It's dirty, it's old, and the food is liable to lay you up. Every time I go here (which is every decade or so), I am reminded firmly as to why neither I nor anyone I know eats here.

Not the worst meal I ve had in Oxford but the lackadaisical in house service leaves much to be desired! Call in orders are processed by a third party service provider & to go orders typically are missing items or not prepared correctly. It is rumored there is a new McAlister s being built on Jackson Avenue. If this is true, I will give it a try & hopefully have a better experience.

This place doesn't even deserve a single star. It was not even busy and it took them an hour to bring my food. Cashiers are rude. Place is dirty. They haven't cleaned the tables the entire time I've been here.

Super fast service every time i go to pickup an order

Came back home for my brother's wedding and had to stop by and get a club and tea. Amazing as always.

One of my favorite places but I got a to go order while in the hospital that was picked up for me. Ordered a turkey melt on wheat and they sent a wrap. It looked like a dead rat. No way to take it back. I was so disappointed. Have always had good service here and after not eating for several days just wanted a good sandwich. Just a disappointment.

I got a turkey sandwich with steamed veggies. It was very dood.

The last 3 times I ve came here my order was either completely wrong or missing something. I emailed them about the incorrect orders and they never even responded. My fourth time to Try to order I called the store 2 time with no answer. Then, i came in to order and the phone was ringing the whole time and no one answered. My order was wrong AGAIN! I went to get it changed and they told me it was correct. I get this same order every time. It was
Wrong. This my be the original McCalister s but it s the worst. They should probably change it back to a service station/tire shop.

My girlfriend and I are really never ones to complain or get upset in these types of situations. We understand working in the food industry can be very stressful. But the service we experienced at McAlister's last night was probably the worst service I've ever dealt with in my life at a legitimate restaurant.

I ordered the choose, 2 a McAlister's Club and rotel and chips. She ordered a sandwich and a spud. When we got home, we noticed that neither of our sandwiches had the honey mustard they're supposed to come with. My sandwich was also without mayo. We both love those sandwiches, so we were pretty disappointed. She called up there and politely as possibly conveyed her displeasure. They asked her if they could remake the food and she said that would suffice. So as I was leaving to return to the store, my girlfriend brought out her spud and told me there was no bacon on it as there was supposed to be. So I brought all 3 of those items back up there to show that we were not trying to lie or be those annoying customers. When I walked back in they asked if something was wrong. I told them who I was and I also mentioned the spud not having bacon. She asked to see the spud so I gave her the bag with all 3 items in it. She said there was "probably" bacon underneath the cheese. She had her staff put bacon on top of it and gave me the bag back with 3 containers of honey mustard and the same food that had been sitting out for close to an hour at this point. They had not remade our food as they said they would over the phone or even considered it. We were starving and I really wasn't willing to wait another 20 minutes or so for them to remake the food. Not that they had asked to do it. I just decided to return home.

When I returned home, my girlfriend once again checked under the cheese of the spud. Sure enough, there was no bacon underneath like she had originally claimed.

Again, we aren't ones to write negative reviews like this online about restaurants or get upset when our food isn't correct. Everyone makes mistakes. It's not like anyone was rude to us either. But it certainly would have been nice for them to remake our food seeing as 3 of the 4 things we ordered were incorrect. At the very, very least, an apology on the phone or to me in person when I brought back the messed up items would have been okay too. But we didn't get either. The McAlister's Club is one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had and I always look forward to eating it. But as much as I enjoy it, I really don't think I'll ever order from the one in Oxford again if that's the kind of service that we have to experience.

I guess they used the A Team for this past weekend for the LSU game. Wednesday night was a bad night to be here. Terrible service, long wait, and food order was not right when we got home . Food was not good. I guess they had the D team working tonight. However, there are way too many options in Oxford for this. Done!!!

Good food fast friendly service best sweet tea around

This is the original McAlister's location but now it's a ghost of its former self. Sandwiches are terrible and the value is a rip off. My New Yorker sandwich literally had stale, inedible bread. Veggie Sandwich was bland and dry as a bone. Tea was delicious, though.

This is a really good place for sandwiches and soups. The grilled cheese specifically is really good. Would reccomend this place for lunch or dinner.

Good Sandwiches, a proper deli. Have issues with the "to-go" orders. Great sweet Tea. Restaurant is old Oxford classic. Started by an Ole Miss football player in the 80's.

Great food special. Manager and staff very friendly.

Walked in at 4:00. Four orders of tortilla soup. It took 20 minutes just to get our soup while people behind us got their orders first. Trash from lunch on several tables. Food on the ground. It wasn't rush hour. No reason to be slow and not clean.

Worst location ever. The staff is composed of idiots of lower intelligence. Slow emotionally and physically. I keep forgetting it s Mississippi.

Had to return today to get part of my order that was left out. I'm sure this is a rare occurrence. They also add a $1 charge per order if it is to go. I rarely get food to go, but I must say this is a first for me.
