Century Plaza Hotel Review

There was a hole cut in the sliding glass that wasnt sealed and pidgeons feathers were blowing in from them nesting on the deck, also no hot water.

Had nails repolished. Katherine was wonderful, even after I smudged

I loved the $25 voucher I was given when checking in to eat at the Italian restaurant downstairs. The rooms are really outdated. The tile floors in the bathroom are chipped as well as the porcelain inside the toilet, so it looks like they are always dirty. The windows are not very sound proof. The wifi in our room didn't work. It's a decent place to stay, but it just seems like there is no work put into maintaining it.

The comedians were amazing, the staff was friendly only thing was could have used more notice about seating policy as we lost front row. Oh well! Better luck next time ;) Great place to host Canadian talent and great prices on beverages!

Well, the view was nice..... that's about it. Very old rooms. Uncomfortable furniture, the tv didnt work untill after someone came and took 40 minutes to figure it out..... cracks in the drywall the phone didnt work so I had to use my cell phone to contact the front desk.... the C Prime was amazing food, that was the only good part of the stay. Also 7 days later today since uve left the hotel and my deposit has not been returned. They definetly need a facelift and a proper maintenance staff. Also the spa was excellent.

It's a great location and in dt core and if your on a budget this is the place.

Recently we stayed at Century Plaza hotel and our baby went into medical distress. Within 1 minute of dialing 911 there was a wonderful member of the hotel staff in our room with an AED. Though the AED was not required at the time we could not have been more grateful for his presence and to the entire hotel staff who effortlessly coordinated quick access for the paramedics to our 17th floor room. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this hotel and wish I had gotten a chance to properly thank them in person. Your quick response helped two very worried parents focus solely on our child at a difficult time. Thank you thank you thank you.

They take care of you from the moment you walk through the doors until you leave. I did not get a chance to enjoy the amenities they provide because it was a business trip, but I did get a chance to have dinner in their lovely restaurant. What a pleasure! The dinner special was prime rib roast, which happens to be my favourite when it comes to beef. Of course, I ordered medium rare, and it was so tender! I told my waiter that I was only using my steak knife for appearances, it was that tender! Next time, I would love to check out their amenities. Definitely, a thumbs up for service and cleanliness. I highly recommend the Century Plaza Hotel when visiting our beautiful city of Vancouver, BC.

Checked in very very late(1 am) on wed into thurs. Told staff in AM the bed was slanted (rolling off slanted). Next day same thing. Got home at night n still same bed. Called down. Finally moved to another room but took good bed from first room as second bed (we were with kids). The fact bed was bad is okay ...the fact that no one followed up on is two days in a row of letting them know isnt.

Stayed here for two nights in July. Location is fantastic and within walking distance to many Vancouver hotspots: BC Place, Rogers Arena, Stanley Park, Granville Island, as well as great restaurants.

The hotel is older though and in desperate need of an update, with many things worn out or just outdated. That said, the room was clean and we'll stocked with linens and toiletries.

Staff were also very friendly and helpful. The on site coffee shop is great and perfect for a quick breakfast or easy snack during the day but, has enough to fill you up for a meal.

Overall, happy with the stay but would probably not book again until they've updated as there are similarly priced hotels nearby with more up to date rooms and decor.

The Century Plaza Hotel has a great view of the city. The rooms are very clean and the amenities are great. Breakfast in my room the next morning we a treat! Only a couple of issues: the water took a while to get hot and the TV is too far from the bed. Other than that, it was great! Very friendly customer service, thank you!

I booked a room for my family and called to confirm the room choice. The reservations service, Ramen and her co-worker, were so unhelpful. Hung up on my and would not help me figure out my room. I ve honestly never had this experience traveling with my family and felt so unwelcome with kids.

I ve stayed here three times and every time it gets worse. This last time really turned me. Stains on the carpet, paint chipping throughout the room, stains on ceiling, hair leftover from the last guest... you name it.

I have been in there for 5 days
It has fine facilities and is located in center of vancouver. It can be enable to access nearby street by walking.
As a view of tourist, the point is convenient of this location and good facilities

Living on the top floor, there is an oversized terrace overlooking Vancouver, just in time to fireworks. The waiter is polite.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. I stayed here for a full week and loved coming back to this hotel every night.
The rooms are clean and big, with lots of space for luggage and whatever else you need. Upon check-in, I was given coupons for the spa and the restaurant. I used the spa coupon and got a massage, which was incredible.
The service here was great, all across the board. From check in to the spa to the restaurant to the cafe to the housekeeping staff - everyone I met was kind and professional. I would definitely stay here again next time I m in Vancouver.

There was a kitchen in the room and it was quite good. There was only one problem, and the sensitivity of Wi-Fi was poor. The Italian restaurant on the first floor is a nice restaurant from the outside and I would like to go there.

Renovated older building. Friendly staff. Great location. Can be noisy due to proximity to hospital across the street. Great view of the Sheraton.

My wife and I travelled to Vancouver from Seattle to see a concert at Rogers Arena. Spent 2 nights. CPH&S is centrally located for our needs. Our room was nice, clean, and spacious with a nice view from the 24th floor. Food and drink in the hotel restaurant were tasty and inspired. The pool itself was nice but it is located in the bowels of the hotel. It feels like it is in the middle of a parking garage, surrounded by concrete. We did have it to ourselves tho for the 20 minutes we used it over the 2 nights. The one really negative experience occurred when the restaurant closed earlier than we were originally told. We had rearranged the end of an evening in order to come back and revisit a really great bourbon drink they served for a nightcap. There was miscommunication between the restaurant and the front desk and we were talked down to by the desk staff in such a way that it soured a good chunk of our experience at the hotel.

Terrible!!!Absolutely terrible experience!!! Booked a room for me and my husband and children, was promised 2 bedroom.. get their and they say their is no more room? Why would you day That??? They try to get us into a one bedroom with one bed and old out... are you kidding me? The worst hotel in Vancouver!! Rude to my whole family, especially my children who were tired.. left hotel with no where to go first time in Vancouver!! Disgusting service. Owner should be ashamed!!!!!

I stayed here for week for my business trip.
This hotel was okay, because service was unfriendly and elevators were broken so only one was working.
I did try spa and restaurant and both were okay not worth it.
I feel like house cleaning lady just fix my bed and never change the actual linens.

Staff were all great !! The rooms are pretty good. Beds could be more comfortable for sure. Water pressure in shower could also be better. Good value for Vancouver. We had a fun weekend and would love to come again !! My wife had a great massage at the Spa.

Great views, affordable, awesome to find a hotel that has such spacious rooms at the price point plus a full kitchen! Everything was clean and the housekeeping was attentive. Dated decor. I've heard good things about the restaurant but have not eaten there. A modest hotel but well done.

Enjoyed a one night stay at the Century Plaza. Along with dinner and breakfast at the C prime restaurant. Which was amazing all was great. The lamb was incredible. My mushroom risotto was fantastic. I ate it so slowly savouring every bit. My gf just about ate the bone from her lamb :p. Room was nice 28th floor. View was nice didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool. But was happy to be there and would stay again.

Check-in was possible though it was past 3:00 pm due to the flight. However, it is necessary to contact through the accommodation site in advance.
From the airport, take the N10 bus and get off just before the last stop. If you search on the Google map, you can check the bus time and route. It was about 9 minutes on foot from the nearest bus stop. You need to climb a little hill. This bus runs until late at night.

There was a pool and a steam sauna (changing room) in the basement. There is also a gym.
The steam sauna is used by turning on a timer.
There is also a laundry on the 5th floor. There is a charge.
The room is kept clean. However, it seems that the building is old, and sound leakage is quite good. Therefore, I lowered one star.

The room is large, the bed is large. Good service.
I coped with my catapult English without a disgusting face.
Because there is a kitchen in the room, I was able to warm the ingredients I brought home.

Comfy for the price, rooms are clean, right in the middle of downtown, and a short ten min walk from the skytrain! What more can you ask for!

I always stay here when planning an overnight stay in Vancouver. The winter rates are very reasonable. The rooms are spacious with many having a full kitchen. Service has always been excellent.

Hotel and staff wonderful but sorry to say food was awful

Advantages: The staff are full of enthusiasm, there is a mini kitchen, the spare parts are sufficient, about 10 minutes walk from the shopping area
Disadvantages: There is no indoor slippers, the shower head is very weak, and the indoor lighting is insufficient. In fact, the sound insulation is not good.
Tips: If you push large baggage from skytrain, it is recommended to take 002 to the hotel, because the second half will be uphill.

Recently remodeled, rooms were modern and clean. The staff were friendly and the location was great. 5 minute walk to the shopping district and 15m walk to BC place.

Only complaint is the bed which was extremely firm and obviously of low quality but I slept well enough.

An excellent hotel in the downtown, the suite i had was clean and spacious. Comfortable and well positioned modern hotel right on Burrard. The room was fantastic, tho i enjoyed my previous stay more on a higher floor with superb views downtown.

So i will make sure to ask for a room high up (above floor 15) as the hospital and its noctural activity whilst great craic for a jetlagged observer, the silent movie version would be better.

Hmm. I have mixed feeling about this hotel. As I booked, they gave me 25 dollars for trying either the restaurant or the cafe but it's not included tax and tips. I expected it will include everything. The hotel's room has a nice view and a nice kitchen but feel blatant and not very nicely designed.

The rooms have not been updated to match the lobby, however i enjoyed my stay none the less! While the rooms were a little dated, they were spacious and came with a kitchenette. We did not have any noise problems and the beds were comfy. In the morning, we had a problem with our towels, a needle and thread had found its way woven in. The manager apologized, spoke with housekeeping and comped all of our food because our room was paid for by a third party. I was very pleased with how the situation was handled. No one was hurt and mistakes happen. Would stay here again. Location was excellent.

Not bad unfortunately we booked when everthing was being renovated and was no mention of any of this on website or hotels. Com so was a nasty trick making us pay full price for substandard facilities

This is an incredible hotel. Great room great location to Heathrow and I left my car here for two weeks. Shuttle ferried us with luggage to and from the airport. will definitely use this hotel again and again.

This hotel is quiet and he staff and room service was excellent and the food is really good, try the burgers you'll like them..

When an initial challenge on the room provided arose the entire staff was involved in completely exceeding my expectations of hospitality. Thank you.

The room was unexpectedly large for the price, and it was convenient with a kitchen

Great location in the middle of Vancouver, from here you can actually reach everything in Downtown, whether Stanley Park or Chinatown.
Each room is equipped with its own wireless router, which means you always have fast internet.
There is a large TV, stove, microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle.
No annoying mini bar, only a few bottles of fidji water for 3.50 CAD each.
Rooms are large and clean, windows open a crack and the view itself is great.

Located in downtown, convenient location clean and big rooms, suite styled with kitchenettes, friendly staff. Pool is very old nut clean, lovely sauna area. Con is that the water (shower) runs cold after 12am.

Absolutely terrible! While the rooms were nice the staff kept trying to scam us out of money. My friend paid in cash (which we were told meant that the card it was booked under wouldn't get charged) and then they still charged the card! We were never informed of a hold on the credit card, which all other hotels have informed me of. Then they tried to deny it even happening and wouldn't even believe that they card was charged, even though they said it is "probably" a hold. None of us will be staying again.

In the room with a kitchen, all dishes are prepared, and the refrigerator is slightly larger than the single size in Japan.
It was a very nice hotel for a long stay.
The shower is of the type that comes from above, so it was hard for me to use for short Japanese people.

Stayed for 3 nights. Enjoyed our stay so decided to stay an additional night. After calling down to the front desk to make sure we would not be double charged our deposit as they already had a preauth for the first stay. They said they would not hold an additional $200 on the card. Great! We could afford to stay the additional night. But wait!!!! Boom they took another $200 without my even knowing. Plus on my statement it says purchase not pre auth. Called the credit card company and they confirmed it is in fact a purchase and not a pre auth but the hotel insisted it is.

Just be sure you keep a close eye on your statements.

Up until this morning we would have gladly come back and stayed but this has now put a bad taste in my mouth about this place.

I was there with friends in celebration of our friend getting married, a little bridal shower mani-pedi with the girls.
It was fantastic! From start to finish, the were very good at handling a group of women, and it was extra special to all be able to get treatments in the same room, so we could talk and share wedding stories.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a top-notch experience!
