Went here for Rock the Park, it s been years since I was here before this summer. Nice place. As expected with any theme park -food costs are astronomical, so eat before you come and expect to pay nearly $50-$60 or more for a family of 5...parking, is rather annoying, but again-that s to be expected! The event was on a Saturday. Bathrooms could use more attention but, again-it s a theme park! Pack your sanitizer, and Wet-Ones!!

Tons of fun very clean facilities, the lines were extremely long we rode 6 coasters in the span of 10 hours with no breaks in between. The coaster are a lot of fun for thrill seekers. Staff is friendly and helpful, can t say the same about the other patrons.

I get a ticket to have fun ride rides and can't cause nothing in the park is fit for a 6'4ft 330pounder so watch my kids and did nothing it know people is that big can't ride and just there watch kids and walk around think it should be free since nothing y'all make is all size fits ride come on HELLO SEE THIS SEE ME NEED RIDES OUR SIZE NOW

I will start this by saying I am partial. I live in the area and my season pass is amazing. If you are considering going that route, the pass pays for itself after two visits. Otherwise, expect $20 parking + park entry. Its not terribly bad compared to some other parks I have been to in my life, but it is still pretty steep.

Inside the park, there are tons of details I think they excel in. The park is very clean, there are interactive experiences for kids in the form of characters and shows, they have places to eat that your kids will recognize such as Chick-fil-a, and they have a pretty good selection of rides.

The park is split into - what I would consider - two sections: Camp Snoopy for kids and EVERYTHING else for adults/big kids. It is easy to get caught up in the kids rides and not find your way out of it... but the selection of rides for the adults I think is pretty good.

I forgot i had a pocket knife in my bag given to me by a deceased close relative, and not only did they remove it from me, but refused to give it back as i was leaving the park. I will never go here again.

Went on 8-31-18 only to find out they dont open until 5pm. Came back the next day at 10am and it went good. Only complaint was food and drink prices. Sad how much they charge on mediocre food.

My best friend and I went as a day trip. Worst experience! My best friend couldn't fit in any of the rides we tried because she is a larger girl. We tried to get our money back, and when we told customer service what happened, this lady named Ms. Christian, who was horribly rude and disrespectful by the way, accused us of lying. We wanted to leave because she couldn't fit in any of the rides we wanted to go on, and instead of trying to reason with us, Ms. Christian accused us of lying and trying to scam them out of money. Wow, lady, you need to chill out. The childish and immature reaction from her was ridiculous she had to have been 50 years old but acted out like a child. Not a good look lady!. I'm not mad that they didn't give us a refund, I'm mad about how THEY responded to our situation. I can't believe how rude she was and she did not even try to help our situation.

It was enjoyable; all of the workers that I encountered were very polite and helpful. The park was very accessible, and I did not have any difficulty maneuvering my wheelchair around the different attractions.

The entire park and quality of the rides is equal to (and some parts better than) Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Orlando. For the price it s absolutely worth it! You will have fun and a great time!

The park is great it's always clean and it's always fun but can you please open a separate line when you get your hand stamped for reentry? It doesn't make sense to have to wait in line with all of those who have not yet entered. It just doesn't make sense.

Been going since I was a child & worked out here, it's growing & I love the new rides to experience & old ones to repeat every year & of course some that are gone I miss as well but overall excitement every time!

Closed..

It's been closed the whole winter and summer, so at least the last 9-10 months or so. How are all these 5 star reviews showing up within the last week to a few months ago when it has been closed the entire time? Sounds a little fishy. Maybe they are having friends and employees etc. come on here to run up their numbers, kind of like the covid numbers. Anyways, it's closed and has been closed the entire summer so no idea how all the 5 start reviews are getting on here for a closed park.

We bought the platinum passes and have been to Cedar Point in Ohio, Kings Dominion in Virginia and of course Carowinds since it's so close to home. Carowinds out does the other 2 parks easily. We had a good time at all 3 parks but none match up to Carowinds. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The park is always clean. The rides are fun and we have yet had to wait a long time in line. The food is always very good and large portions. The food at Kings Dominion was not good at all. We would recommend Carowinds to everyone!

Fun place for families complete with thriller coasters, themed rides, and a water park. The food is a bit high priced but that is nothing out of the ordinary for an amusement park. Sunscreen is a must and it is best to buy a beverage pass ahead of time.

What a great place! Camp Snoopy has rides for the younger set that includes a small wooden roller coaster and a suspended upright coaster.
The Fury 325 is a 90+ mph coaster that ranges from the back of the park all the way to the entrance and back. Nearly a dozen coasters and a new one on the way for 2019.
Summertime can be sweltering and lines can be long, but the fall weekends are a great price and have great online pricing. In fall some rides are closed as the high school and collegiate workers are back in class.
Cons: Parking can be upwards of $20, and regular ticket pricing is near $70. Take the time to look for deals. Food can be costly as well. Red Panda is a good place for a good sized plate of food.
Considering what most amusement parks go for, Carowinds is an outstanding experience.

Carowinds was a great park when we visited. They had a very nice selection of roller coasters and flats that gave great variety for the whole family. The recent additions and changes to the park are very nice. With the expansion of the water park the crowds can be more dispersed on slides which is always nice. Of course, the crown gem of the park is Fury 325. I'm not sure it's possible to come off of that ride in a bad mood. It is simply sublime as far as coasters go.

The other aspects were also nice. There was a lot of shade except for a few areas. The staff were all friendly, the food selection was better than a lot of parks, and the rides were all pretty good. We stayed at the campground on site, and the biggest complaint we had was the last shuttle can easily leave before you get through a line if you are in a long line around closing. Although, that did allow us to walk back which gave some great views of Fury. So, not a total loss I suppose. Related to that, it'd be nice if there was an entrance for campers closer to the campground, rather than the two main entrances. All-in-all though, it's a great park!

The water park was decent. The food was terrible and ridiculously expensive. No lids or straws for drinks and cold food. We paid 70 dollars for a hot dog, po boy and pork bbq sandwich( cold) and fries. A beer and 2 teas. Outrageous!

At the time I did not know there was a swimming area so I would have brought a swimsuit but I was able to purchase one from their gift shop. all the other rides and attractions were great

We all love Carowinds!!! I have a Season Pass!!! Clean park.... fun rides.... great park, all you can really ask for in an amusement park! All Cedar Fair parks are great! The only thing bad about the park is.... not big people friendly there is some rides bigger people can ride but.... Intimidator.... Fury 325 COUNT THOSE OUT! Being a bigger person myself my legs were just to long, or should restraints could go an inch more and it would be perfect.... I just think carowinds should add a good inch or two on their ride seats and restraints that s all other than that great park!!!

Nice park. I like having the water park connected so my older kids can go on rides while the younger ones swim. Park is not very pretty but it is convenient the and cheap enough to make up for any shortcomings.

I've always have enjoyed Carowinds it's bout the best place to take your children and grandchildren or just your self, you just can't go wrong by making your plans to get out of the house to go and have fun at Carowinds cause they do have something for everyone to enjoy their selves and that's why if we go once we just have to get season passes cause it's well worth it and then when you do go once your gonna be wanting to go back again..trust me I know

Sunday, May 26, 2019. We came from Ohio, this was part of our vacation. For the most part, we really liked it. Only 2 issues:
1) handicap accessible bathrooms SHOULD be big enough to fit my wheel chair into. The bathhouse was fine, but the restroom not far from the carousel was not.
2) 95 degrees out + memorial day weekend and the lazy river was closed!!!??? ( yes I know that isn't the correct name). I think I'll stick to cedar point!

Fun fun fun! We went 2 weeks ago on the weekend, the time between the Scarowinds and holiday fest and the lines were rediculously short. Some of the larger coasters took longer to open due to cold weather. There is a Starbucks inside the park which is awesome and all together it was an awesome day! We will return next year the same time.

This was my first time here. I enjoyed all the shows that we saw there. Our grandchildren enjoyed all the rides. We all enjoyed the Peanut Characters and getting pictures with them. At the waterpark we rented one of the premier Cabanas which was great for us. the only thing that I was disappointed and is that one of the chairs that was in there was torn up pretty good. We also had to have someone come down and spray the area on the roof and in the electrical socket for wasp that were flying around. We movedmost of our items out of the way so that the spray did not get on them but when we turn the fan on apparently they had sprayed it on the fan two and it dripped all over us items that were down there on the ground and table. I feel that those cabanas should have been checked out for things like this before customers come to stay at them especially for the price you pay. The other thing was at the lazy riverwhere the life guards were telling you and pushing you through telling you to just grab a life rings as you go through the water which is dangerous. there were so many tubes in the water you would not have been able to see clearly underneath those if a child had got caught under there which I would have considered a drowning hazard. the lifeguard should be given those tubes as people go into the water and making sure that well everyone is going down the lazy river that they stay in those tubes until the very end. I don't believe that the lazy river was properly supervise them my opinion. We were trying to get my granddaughteron to one of the inner tubes we were next to her and did not get that chance to do it properly the way they were rushing us. I also believe that they should open that water park up at 9 a.m. during the summer months, which would give us more of our money's worth when renting the cabanas and using the water park.

Genuinely wish the water park didnt close at 5pm- the sun is still up after 8pm PLUS 8pm is when the park closes right now anyway, which is weird for a Friday. Got super lucky today & basically had a 5 minute wait for all of the rides. It was exhilarating! Im pretty sure i road ALL of the rollercoasters AND one waterpark ride that was definitely worth the price of admission. I think its dumb that newer rides expect you to pay for lockers to put your stuff up- we paid a bunch of money to get in there then they wanna hustle for MORE money, especially for parking. That gets me everytime- lemme pay y'all almost TWENTY bucks to leave my car here for a bit.

The park is closed due to weather although the app and website say they are open. The weather is nicer now that they are closed than when it was open in the morning. When the park closed the employees were going to ride rides after the guests if the weather was too bad for the guests to ride it s too bad for employees! The park did nothing to compensate me I came from Houston to visit the park. I am also an industry professional and know that there is no reason that it would be dangerous to operate the rides right now. The park just closed because they were not making enough money. If it rains a little don t even bother going.

Lots of roller coasters but food and drinks way overpriced. 5 bucks for a soda and all the drinking fountains had warm water. Not good on a hot day in the South. Intimidator and fury coasters are long and intense, be prepared!

So much fun! This was an unplanned stop on our Spring Break trip and SO glad we did! So many coasters of varying degrees of excitement (good for the meek ==> or daredevil). Our daughter conquered her fear of coasters with loops and fell in love with the Copperhead Strike!

This Amusement park was incredible and amazing , I went with my cousins last Saturday and I had a blast ! However , some criticism that I would have about carowinds is that the food is way too pricey and would recommend not buying food here ( if you want too ) and the line for the nighthawk was way too long ( I waited 2 hours in that line ) but the rest of the lines for the rides such as fury 325 , hurler , afterburn and vortex were pretty good ( I m definitely coming back for 2020 Summer , hopefully scarowinds ) but this place was AWESOME !!

Its a shame when you can t get on your favorite rollercoaster, because the seats are too small for your thighs. I think maintenance needs to work on building wider seats for us plus size people, because we love rollercoaster just as much as everyone else!

Fun place but I think they should give people who are not going to ride anything a special bracelet so they don't have to pay 60 just to walk around with their families. Everything is to expensive in there need to lower prices you already paid for parking 25 and 60 to enter you should be able to get a drink of water for cheaper than 2.00
