Fun place with great rides, but the lines get long in the afternoon. I went on opening day for 2019 season, but only about half of the water park was open. Otherwise, a great experience.

My kids took me for my BIRTHDAY which was in Oct I love roller coasters, we had a ball.. then they closed the park up for a while all of there workers had changed and put on some very scary costumes on. I must say they had me screaming and running. One of my best BIRTHDAY ever.
Spent the day with my daughter, her husband and two teenage kids. We hit as many roller-coasters as we could. The Intimidator was the best, smooth and fast. WOW.
The rides are nice when they re not shut down. We went Memorial Day weekend and some of the rides were closed, lazy river is closed. Don t really care for the water park...people just hog 6 chairs and only use 1,too long of lines for the water slides . The app is useless tbh. Ticket prices I d say are affordable, but I d never buy a season pass. Also, just buy your ticket online to avoid the line. Don t bother buying drinks when you can get cups of water for free. The bottled water and drinks/food are overpriced compared to other theme parks I ve been to. In conclusion, for the price is it really worth it? I enjoyed my time, but i wouldn t see myself coming back for a couple of years.
I love y'all, and Copper Head strike is legit, but y'all really have the gall to charge me to store my bag for this one ride???!!??!??? like EVERY other ride in the park has a cubby but for this ONE RIDE I have to pay? y'all kill me. also get some fresh lemonade stands smh.
Best place in Carolina to enjoy. Lots of roller coasters, special kids planet. Year starts with winterfest and ends at Halloween. It remains closed in winter. Those who likes or enjoy roller coasters then this is the best place and highly economical with the annual pass.
One of the greatest theme parks of all time, Carowinds is a great place for a family to have a great day together. The food is delicious, there is always music playing or a live band, the rides are incredible, and there is a huge water park, that makes Carowinds a great place to relax and beat the heat. ENJOY!
Fun, easy, not to big to maneuver around. Rides are fun, but you ll have to wait in line. It s not too bad but under the heat can get a bit tiring. Make sure you were sunscreen and wear a hat - hold on to it when riding the coasters.
Had a awesome time with husband, kids and family!!
We have visited Carowinds several times over the years and it gets better each time. We have found that Cedar Fair parks are far above the rest when it comes to the quality and diversity of their roller coasters. We purchased the all day eating plan for the 2 days we went. However, next time we won't because the value isn't as good as it seems. You have to eat at least 3 meals throughout the day in order to make them worth it. In addition, the don't include a drink. Other parks that we have visited have better plans that include the drink and allow you to pick up fruit, desserts, and other snacks throughout the day. Besides that, Carowinds is a great park to spend a couple of days in.
First time I ever went to Carowinds Winterfest and I was amazed they really outdid themselves with the lights it was so pretty walking around. It was a whole different experience from driving and seeing the lights, when you're up underneath him seeing all of them as you're walking through it was amazing. I grew up going to Carowinds and I know that place so well and I actually got lost they put some new carnival rides in and they really had it lit up and it was so pretty I was looking up most of the time that I kept getting turned around in a place that I knew like the back of my hand. I'm not a huge fan of Christmas but I was utterly shocked at the time put in.
Great place to spend time with the family, absolutely love the place
LOVED the new roller coaster. One of the rides had employees that were letting ALL fast pass people through before any of the normal line... did not seem like that should have worked out in that format. Other than that, it was an amazing trip and great place to spend the day!
Love coming here! We got season passes again this year and have been almost every weekend. We love the rides, especially the Fury, Copperhead, Afterburn, and Intimidator!
Great coasters and great atmosphere. Not a full day park unless you plan on going to the waterpark.
Lockers for the water park run about $15 for normal size bags...more expensive the bigger the bag.
I would only suggest eating in Harmony Hall...pretty decent food but elsewhere is standard fare.
When I think of clean, safe and friendly employees at an amusement park, Cedar fair parks are always at the top of my list..
As far as theme parks go, Carowinds is like a state far on steroids. To me it doesn't have the feel of a theme park similar to those in Orlando FL. If you plan on visiting, be sure to check out the water park area, it's the best part about Carowinds in my opinion.
11 roller coasters plus the other rides and the water park was combined with the amusement park. Got free refills with the souvenir cups purchased then after the refills are $1.00. Food was great a little pricey but some things reasonable. They also had games, a dinosaur exhibit. Lots of fun!!!
Carowinds has great rides, BUT they sold me a $70 fast lane pas WHILE the rollercoasters were shut down. They knew it, but I did no . Non refundable. $210 down the drain. Absolutely shameful.
This theme park has been here many years. I have been going since I was an young child on family and school trips. My friends and I would go during the Summer once we could drive. Because it s close we went on cousin trips here too. The prices aren t bad. It gets hot in the south but there is shade every where. There is a section just for younger kids. The rides get periodic updates. New rides come often. There is a water park. It is a very fun family outing.
Carowinds is AWESOME! Did cost me $15 for a hotdogs and fries..but the entire experience is great
Great way to introduce your kids to theme parks. Wait times were relatively short.
Scarowinds was an utter nightmare! We drove 2 hours to get there and 2 miles from the exit we sat for 2 hours in chaotic bumper to bumper traffic. Once off the interstate it was another 45 minutes to get through the parking gate only to ride through the parking lot for 30+ minutes looking for a place to park where there was none! While riding through the parking lot with many other cars going all directions we saw the extremely long line of people standing in line trying to get in. Disgusted we decided to leave because with that amount of people still trying to get in we knew we would never get to ride anything before the park closed. Mismanagement, total chaos = huge aggravation & utter disappointment. Oh and to top it all off we tried to call today to see if we could get our $$ back and their call center is closed! WILL NEVER RETURN & WILL BE SURE TO TELL EVERYONE @ EVERY OPPORTUNITY!
I thought it was ok. A little expensive. I would prefer six flags
Great amusement park but the staff wasn't the friendliest.
Great rides and reasonably priced with the deal we got. Wish the fast pass was cheaper, but lines were not too bad.
Fun fun fun. Kids loved it we where there all day. Had issues with the prek voucher so prepare to pay just in case.
good park with insane coasters.
long abysmal lines
kids rides everywhere
HUGE
GREAT!!!!!!!
Nice video of carowinds.... Beverly Carowinds NC @ Youtube Grand Pepper
A great park for the whole family. Highly recommend.
My husband, son and I love Carowinds! My parents took me many times as a child and now I enjoy yearly visits with my little family!
Lines moved quickly and smoothly. Free water for hydration...great when you have several children. Patient and very courteous people operating rides and shops
The Fury is fantastic. Carowinds is great for the whole family. Souviner cup is a great deal. Thanks Carowinds!
lots of fun for kids and adults over 52 in lol .not much for the younger smaller one's. fast passes recommended to get more out of your day but makes it a lot more pricey .food prices are outrageous.
Carowinds is an obvious must visit attraction in the Charlotte area. They've done a great job over the past few years at creating great kids areas, fun roller coasters, and a very nice water park. For locals, the season pass is the way to go with just a couple trips paying for the purchase price. The one area they seem to refuse to improve on is the parking. The lot is chaotic and confusing with random cones all over the place. It's time to spend a little money there and make it easier for folks to get into the park.
Great place for family. During bew year it was absolutely beautiful.
Get ready for this place to open for the summer. And if you're a coaster fan this needs to be on your list to go to. Additionally if your a NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt Sr. fan the have the coaster for you!
Awesome place!!! The rides are more for big kids tho so don t bring little kids expecting them to be tall enough for everything
A great park. Always have fun here. no ferris wheel, but many coasters. I wish they had more casual rides that adults could go on. Like more dark rides.
My family and I really enjoyed the Holiday Special Celebration this year.
Carowinds needs to send people to Florida to learn how to run a well oiled machine as a theme park. Tickets are ok, but the fast lane passes are ridiculous! Its $70 extra on top of your ticket just to skip the lines. For a family of 4 you're looking at spending over $450 on tickets alone. Meals will cost $15 and up PER PERSON. Carowinds used to be a much better place and I wanted my kids to have the same fond memories I did, all we came away with were lines that were too long and, disgusting food in half the places like the pizza shop near fury.
You will have more fun then any other six flags because there is a waterpark section on top of many rides.
I'm a season pass holder, so I knew what to expect. Always fun here. Picked today to avoid massive lines
Staff could be friendlier. And it would be nice to know exactly which meals you can get with the dining passes. They also need to fix a lot of the water stations. Its a lot easier to use a water station than jave to go through the lijes to ask for water. Rides are great as is the waterpark though!
Scarowinds is not the same anymore. The hunted houses maybe had 2 or 3 actual people in it. The rest was just noise and props.
Great time with the kids. The roller coasters were legit. It had been a few years since I went to a park. The advancements in roller coasters are crazy.
Great place to have a great time. My kids love this park. Great rides . Great food.
It's not possible to cover everything in one visit - they have lots of wet rides ( Carolina harbor) , kids rides in addition to the dinnosure park which itself will need day. Carowinds rides will need a day if you plan it well otherwise more than day is required to experience different types of rides. season pass is best bet for folks staying in proximity of Charlotte. Kids below 3 years are free & senior citizens get discounted tickets ($20). Season passholder can bring in 6 friends per year by paying discounted price for tickets.
July 27 (yesterday) was the first time I've gone to Carrowinds and it was awesome, I almost got on every single ride thanks to the all-inclusive ticket (which gave us two important things along with some other things, the fast Lane plus, all day dinning plan), which honestly saved us (my friends and I) a lot of money. The food was great, Thank you Carrowinds for such an epic time!
Nice place, fee roller coasters are really awesome.
Bring lots of money! But it's definitely worth every cent!
Best time to.go after four on a Sunday . No long lines not crowded had a blast.
Nice amusement park, a little pricey $$$! My son and I did find tickets on Groupon though for $34.99 per ticket. Those tickets also had parking included, otherwise, it is a $20 parking fee. The regular cost of an all-day ticket is in the low 70's. So definitely shop ahead of time to save yourself a little bit of money.
For cedar point being my home park this park is something to watch out for in the up and coming years
Great Park. Plenty to do for the entire family. Will definitely be visiting again.
It was good but way too hot, fans were broken or just off, left throwing up with fevers and migranes. Carowinds just needs to have better cooling and customer care, sure it is fun but it worth it.
We had fun. The new cobra ride is awesome. Parking is $20. Lockers to use if you are doing the water side too are $20. Food and drink are sky high. Don t go on a weekend or during a big event because each ride will be a minimum of an hour and half wait.
Some roller coasters have cubbies to put your stuff in and some don't. Fury didn't have them and there wasn't any signs saying so. Waited in line and was told right when I boarded the roller coaster. They threw my bottle away because I left it on the ground and they made me ride with my hat and glasses on. If something fell during the ride it could hit someone and hurt them. A person sitting in front of me lost his phone during the ride. After I got off, I noticed lockers on the side but no signs saying you had to put your stuff up. The lockers are by the hour, to make more profit out of us. What if you only got a locker for one hour and the line ended up lasting longer than that? The locker would just unlock and your stuff would be stolen. I don't understand why they couldn't just have the cubbies like the other rides.
Basically it's a few roller coasters that you stand in line over an hour or two for and a carnival. Everything is very far apart. We spent most of our time walking and standing in lines. The food was not good and everything was over prices. It was not worth it at all and we will not be back even with the school field trips. Just was a waste of money. I'd rather go to Dollywood it is amazing!!!
Great amusement park! The roller coasters are the very good for the smaller size of the park. I recommend looking for a Groupon to find cheaper tickets.
SOOOO much fun, great rides... A little overpriced on food & bev.
My younger kids LOVE Camp Snoopy, my older ones love the bigger rides. The water park is very crowded but can't blame them because there is almost no place to shade yourself while there. The drink cups are WORTH the price, so is the season pass. I'm giving it a 4 star vs a 5 star because almost every employee we've encountered this year has looked as though they hate their job.
Lots of things to do if course.
Shows are nice
Waterpark is fun
Good value for your money especially if you do a season pass with the all season dining plan and unlimited drink cup.
The lady at their employment office was unfriendly she had an attitude.
I had questions concerning employment she was so sassy I didn't bother trying to stick around in a small area with immature teenagers.
Carowinds was a lot of fun. We had the paparazzi package, and my significant other loved it.
We love this RV park! So many squirrels for our little dogs to watch & spots are nice size. Only thing I wish you would change is that people could have rings for the fires at night to sit around.
Nice place to unwind and, spend some time with the fam or just relax and let go but it's far from easy on the wallet.
The water park is OPENED and it is awesome! Also the New attraction rides are great!
I really wish they weren't so bad at customer service. They don't have enough staff on duty on the weekdays. We end up waiting in long lines because the park is to cheap to properly staff the rides -especially at the water park. People just aren't a priority to the staff, and I assume that trickles down from the management. They just have frowning faces so often.
Lost my wallet on the Nighthawk. Gary, Brian, and Chris are the best. They work in security and maintenance there and fished it out for me. Thanks much fellows.
