Horrible place charges additional fees on top of how expensive it already it is ie you have to purchase separate fast passes for different things.

Scarowinds back in 2017 was awesome! Proof of this fact: that was my THIRD time coming!
Many complain that the scary components have been dulled down a bit for family-friendly purposes, but honestly, it all depends on who you go with. Luckily for me, I went with an eclectic group - ranging from teenage all the way to late 20's - and we had a blast! We enjoyed the Murder Inn in particular, and the girls in our group made screaming a 100% guarantee.
We capped off our experience with riding the Intimidator, and then quickly squeezing in back-to-back haunted houses as the park was closing. It was an excellent time, and was followed by a good ole-fashioned Cookout run.
Will be back next time I'm in town, for sure.
We went during the Scarowinds hours and we had a blast! The haunted house actors were pretty frightening. They even took extra care of my wife, who was in a wheelchair.
The food is ridiculously priced. Feeding a family of 4 would easily be close to $100 for lunch. Have to pay for a locker just to ride the featured roller coaster. Feel like I'm getting swindled at every turn.
Camp Wilderness has a tram taking you to the park it's great we came and went as we pleased
Obviously an amusement park is going to be fun, so I won't state the obvious, but other than that it's a bit pricy for food and drinks. Plan ahead and being your own water bottle or eat before you go, but if you do decide to eat at the park make sure you try some of they're potato wedge fries! Or eat at Harmony Hall, both are exceptional.
Me n my kids love it my oldest loves fury n my baby girl loves Snoopy land
Been here a few times and it's really fun I had a great time and it is an amazing place to take the family however if you go bring money because you're going to need a lot of it. Everything in here is expensive and if you go and decide you're going to eat here expect a walkout paying more than $100 by the end of the day. Overall it's a fun place but I recommend eating lunch before you go in. Me and my wife went here with my two children and spent all day got lunch and throughout the day I got a few brews and a couple bottles of water and I ended up spending over $300.
An absolute rip off!!! Took me and my family of three for two days with fast passes cost 940.00. Only for most rides to be down. We got stuck on their new copperhead strike for over thirty min and not so much as an apology when we spoke to a supervisor. The water park on its FIRST day had most of its main thrill rides down even the lazy river. When we asked about the lazy river they said we don t have enough life guards to operate it today. Pirates plank broke down three different times on us each time after waiting in a 45 min line only to get told it s down you have to leave. The fast pass is a joke in the water park as there is no fast lane. When we went to guest services to tell about the experience the supervisor David said were sorry you got stuck and didn t enjoy but we don t do rain checks or refunds. I have been coming to carowinds for years but never again will I waste my time and money. Absolutely ridiculous!!!
Fun rides, great place to just spend the day, be prepared to walk.
We went yesterday(Nov 3rd) almost no wait for the coasters, great weather, and had a wonderful time. This would be a five star review if it wasn't for so many rides being down. In their defense all of the newest coasters were operational.
The park is so much fun and creates memories with my kids. If it wasn't for other patrons having no common sense or courtesy, I would enjoy myself 100%. The workers at the waterpark and the restaurants are nice. The ride workers are sometimes nice.
Great new year's eve with the family. Fireworks were great it was about a 20 min show.
Great. I came for the festival of music. I played and I got a great score. The food was great too. Go to Philly Cheese steak. Reasonable price for soviners. Great service. Super nice people.
Fun for the family. We went during the week and there were no lines for any rides. We waited no more than 3 minutes at each ride. Food is expensive but that s to be expected. Lockers available, and good parking.
Great family fun if you have never been you should go enjoy the rides and water parks !
I love Carowinds. They have so many rides for all ages. Get there early and park on the far entrance to beat lines.
This is an amazing park for the family. The adult rides tend to move fairly quickly. The kids rides however take way to long. It takes a long time for the rides to start even when kids are seated. I would give 5 stars if it wasn t for that.
I am as almost 40..just as much fun now as when I was a kid
A $20 parking charge on top of the general admission is outrageous. Winter Fest was nice. Glad we had free tickets, since only about few rides were open and the lines were long.
The shows were really good. Impressive actually. The park has improved a lot. Not as ghetto as it once was.
Long lines but great adventure and fun my son had the time of his life it is a place that isn't cheap so any kind of pass you can get will save you money in the long run they have so many things to do for not only you but the whole family DONT FOR GET SUN BLOCK!!
Nice. Just wish there was just a few more rides to enjoy
We went to Dollywood last year 2018 and there was only 1 ride my daughter could ride. So I was leary about going to another theme park but Camp Snoopy has it set up where if they are one height they can ride alone but if they are to short they can still ride just with a parent. My kids could ride everything in Camp Snoopy. We were there all day. Had a blast. We even ate there. Prices for food was crazy of course but worth it to not have to leave. Bought 2 souvenir cups and had free refills all day. Didn't do the water rides or park.
Great amusement park for all ages & I like the waterpark was included with ticket purchase too, 2 parks 1 price! We will definitely be going back!
Great amusement park with a water park included in price of admission
Best amusement park experience ever. Mostly thrill rides and rollercoasters. Lines were short, except for in the water park. Had a lot of fun and we will definitely be back.
Had so much fun at carowinds! Highly recommend the meal plan if you are going to stay all day. Definitely worth it. The lines were not terrible on the roller coasters and they were almost nonexistent at camp snoopy. We spent a short time at the water park but that was great also!
It's no Cedar Point, but it's still a great amusement park. Have visited 3 times this year. My favorite ride is Fury.
I don't know if I luck out, but every time I go here the lines never seem that long. Much cleaner and not near as crowded as Six Flags over Georgia, and they seem to continue to just add more coasters. Plenty of other attractions to entertain you as well.
Enjoyed the day with my family. Will definitely be back again. The all day meal passes and free refill souvenir cup saved us a lot of money.
We have stopped at Carowinds Amusement park on the way home from Summer Sleep Away Camp in the Poconos(Pennsylvania) for the last 4 years)! We drive up from Ga as we have lots of camp gear and triplets 2 boys and a girl(tomboy) who are now 13! They love Carowinds and this year wanted to go there for their Birthday also which we did.! We love Roller Coasters of all kinds and cant wait to try the water park! We are Hoping to work it out to be there for Halloween sometime in the very near future as we have heard its quite the place to be!!! We have never been disappointed at Carowinds! Even my land loving triplet Christian! There are plenty of rides for him to enjoy as well. We loved the shows and the food and everything about Carowinds! Its very family friendly and that's what we love most! Hoping to get there for Halloween this year if we can pull it off! We live in GA and so it will be a bit of a drive, but well worth it we hear!!! We have been to Universal Studios and Walt Disney World for Halloween and so we are really looking forward to Carowinds at Halloween!!! Thanks for a wonderful family holiday! I say I have triplets...its actually quads if you count my husband (their Daddy) who is a big kid!!! Adelyn, Brayden, Christian and Daddy!!!! These are the kids I live with and have fun with as often as I can!!!!!
This is the second Cedar Fair park I have been to recently, and it was fun, clean and very enjoyable
The PreK pass is fantastic! There are nearly a dozen rides available for our 4 year olds. The dinosaurs were a fun surprise, too! Great thrills for people of all ages!
Very fun for all ages definitely take advantage of the fast lane or get there early before it gets to busy and the all day dining and drink refills cup
Overall it was a better experience than Dollywood. That being said, everything is overpriced, a lot wasn't open, there are no signs anywhere! The maps are not the greatest...cant tell where the restaurant's are on the map in location to where you are. The measurements are incorrect for the rides. My daughter is not 48 inches. Lack of benches kinda stinks as well. As big as the park is, you'd think there would be more places to sit. Especially outside of rides.
But, the rides were fun and in better shape then dollywood. There were more to entertain young children, which really was great and satisfying for my little ones. I would have liked to bring my toddler a lunch however. He doesn't eat anything in the park and that made for long day. Kept him hydrated, but he was starving!
Would recommend for families, but it will be a long uncomfortable day.
We only got to ride one ride and my mom axudintly left my purse on the bench where the dale Earnhardt ride was we noticed within like 5min and so I used her phone to call my phone bc I
My phone was in my purse and we got an answer the security guard answers and says that he had a wallet and was looking for Victoria Davis and I said this is she,and he let me know that my purse was in the lost and found so we go to get it,I checked my wallet and there was at least $150.00 missing!!! And did nothing about it. They could of at least gave us our $ that we paid to get in excpacley since we only got to ride one ride and on top of that someone stole all the money I had!!!!!
Went during the end of summer didn t have to wait much in lines smaller amusement park compared to 6 flags
Good place to hangout but on the expensive side of things. Food is costly!
We are five people we paid $227 to go to Scarowins, it says online it starts at 7 and ends at 12 AM at 9:30 they already started closing most of the rides we have only been on two rides and every time we go to get on one that has a massive line they tell us they re not excepting any more people for the ride! why did I just spend all that money for nothing extremely disappointed first and last time I will ever come here what a waste of money
When I lived in North Carolina I always got a season pass to carowinds. I love the rides especially the roller coasters, and the entertainment. The food is of course standard amusement park food, hamburgers, hot dog, pizza, chicken. We always brought sandwich material, chips and drinks and sat in the back of the truck to eat. Food is way to expensive
The best amazing park ever!!!! This place is amazing I would recommend this park to anyone that wants to have fun
Awesome place for rollercoasters! Cooper ride is a thrill!
Great park.i wish the employees were more friendlier. Copperhead Strike is awesome..get a fast pass and get your ticket at AAA for a great Discount
Fun but pricey especially since several water slides were still closed.
Is a fun place to be there lot of kids ride and fury 325 is the best ride there
I work there! I make it the best place in the world with my service
Best place Ever.. Has season pass.. But less packed during the week.. Just make sure if if u visit water park to bring flip flops cause the payment is VERY HOT to walk or stand on..
Fireworks for the 4th of July were really fun. But it took 2hrs to get out of the parking lot
When I went there with my family I was always exited to go some rides are high and scary for me.
This was our first time attending the Christmas event at Carowinds. It was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be doing it again. Well worth the trip for sure.
First time. Loved it. Got there early line were not long and tiring.
Beautiful park with thrilling rides. The only problem we had was with some lackluster ride operations but we would definitely return.
Carowinds has a great variety of rides and I definitely recommend this amusement park to anyone and everyone visiting.
Went with a group of kids. They had a blast. The food was a little pricey and parents did not sent sufficient funds for their kids.
Great rides and when it gets too hot just hit up the water park. Both parks included in 1 fee
Been going since I was a kid ...tons of fun great fir kids and the whole family
crazy place. we went last weekend and there was not much waiting for rides. Nighthawk at this place is my first rollercoster in my life and it blew my mind. All rides are fantastic. I suggest to experience small rides also. Bathrooms are neat and lot of parking space available. Better to book ticket online to save some money.
Took my daughter for her birthday. Terrible experience. Horrible food and WAY too expensive, even worse sanitary conditions. Most of the food was pre-made, been sitting there awhile. Carowinds cafe would only do a refund on a card. Potatoes were not edible, overdone not even hot enough to melt any cheese AND they were $12.99!! For a baked potatoe! I expected food to be high but not that ridiculous. Juke Box Diner had the hamburgers sitting out, again, not hot. The cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes were also sitting out where flies were just sitting on them. Told the girl about it she said you can complain but "they" won't do anything about it. Very disappointing visit. Nothing like what it used to be when I was young. Do not recommend season pass. I will be getting our season passes at Busch Gardens even though it's farther away. Done with the food rant now to rant about the ride maintenance. Rust everywhere. People running the rides are more interested in talking to each other than making sure people especially children have locked their belts correctly. Safety should be first and foremost at ANY place/job. Lots of the rides among other areas needed paint. If a ride has rust and is not properly maintained, tell me, what do you think will eventually happen? Thank you, rant over.
Carowinds is AMAZING!!!
When we went, it was spring break for pretty much ever school in NC and SC so the lines were insane.
I felt very safe the entire time. I think it seemed more crowded as the waterpark wasn't opened yet as it was too early in the season (First week in April).
The coasters are amazing! The food is subpar at best. I tend to bring PB&J fixings and have a tail gate in the parking lot. $10 for the entire family :)
The best amusement park so scary and fun at the same time
Carowinds is just a staple around here. We get passes nearly every year. The park is so much fun, there is plenty to do, tons of places to find food. Scarowinds is the best. We enjoy it all!
Beautiful transformation to a winter wonderland. Fun for everyone.
Great thrill! Park offered cups of water for free due to rising heat levels... caring.
A great place for couples or families. Went Saturday and Sunday. An awesome way to spend a weekend. Most rides were running. Park is clean. Friendly and helpful staff.
My kids love this place and I get a good workout just walking around
Absolutely great family fun place. Food and drinks are expensive.. And lines are usually kind of long but the fun the family has is worth it...
Me and my family LOVES this place with all our heart! Great rides and I love how there are some calm rides where if you don t want to ride anything crazy, they have a lot of those. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! During my free time, I always see if I can go here. Keep up the good work!
P.S. the electro spin is AMAZING if you like wild rides.
Our visit was lots of fun. I'm looking forward to many more visits this summer.
Fun place to go especially with the family. A little pricey. Food prices are to be expected. Entrance to park is great if you get the season pass. Out of town visitors, do your research and find the best dealto get you in.
Something for all ages. Love the fact that they have family restrooms everywhere and a nursing room.
The VIP Should have a special line for people with disability no matter what the disability is. People with disabilities matter. Other than that I'm having a good time.
Lines are long, but the playground is good for parents to let kids play with no wait. Free small pumpkins for the kids. Pumpkin painting tables are set up along with coloring pages. Park is deck out in fall colors. Great atmosphere and excitement for all ages.
Carowinds is alot of fun! They have continually made improvements to the park each year. The Fury rollercoaster is by far my favorite ride!
My 3 year old was intrigued, but shy about walking up to the realistic looking dinosaurs. He warned up to them and had an best day off his life.
Our family loves visiting Carowinds. We are pass holders. In the Spring, it is awesome. We even get to see the Easter Bunny. Summer weekends gets really crowded but it is still a lot of fun. We try to go during the week. Especially in summer we spend a lot of time at the water park. There are a lot of rides and things to do. Scarowinds and Winter fest are awesome events to check out. I would give a 5 but gave a 4 for... I wish they had more day options to go for these events, also I noticed they served beer at Scarowinds, which their were people that drank too much and the environment became less family friendly. Also, people were smoking in lines and not in designated areas, no one was enforcing that, and we opted out of some activities for better quality air and avoided allergy flare ups.
Love everything about Carowinds! Cant wait till our next visit!
Carowinds really doesn't have a clue how to handle large crowds. I really believe they purposely make it bad and then charge double for the fast pass, but wait, the fast pass only works on the rides you want if you get the more expensive gold fast pass. Wont be going here on a weekend again.
