Several rides where down for issues and two of them had riders stranded. Surprising especially since they just opened in march for the season. Me and my wife where disappointed since we purchased fast pass which is not cheap. The ride attendance where slow at getting people on checked and dispatched. We have season passes and will be back again. We will see if they have improved.
You need to make a section of the coasters with bigger seats for bigger people. We're not all small, you guys sell enough food to know that! Big ppl wanna have fun 2!
I've lived near Carowinds for over 20 years and have had season passes for much of that time. The park has evolved into a true vacation destination from being a small tiny little local theme park. Whether you like giga coaster or family rides or want to spend the day at a world class water park, Carowinds has it all
Interesting selection of rides - I've never been on one that lays you down or one that stands you up. The choice of concrete between water park rides, especially given the heat, was very hot. Perhaps it would have been wise to wear some footwear, but I feel like there are other less heat absorbent materials one could use. Standard amusement park experience - was a good time.
Amazing park. It's really enjoyable for teens and adults, where a lot of other parks fail. The intimidator is 'bell of the ball', worth the long wait lines. Must visit.
Easy to get in and out of. We picked a great day to go. It was not very crowded so very short wait times for rides. Our longest wait time was getting through the bag check line. I strongly suggest downloading the app. It will show wait times and also send you meal and ticket deals.
Thrill rides are fun when they're actually running. They are definitely understaffed, or at least under trained. Takes forever to get on and off of rides. Food and drinks are outrageous! The staff in the dining area, at least Harmony Hall, are rude. I saw one guy jerk a tray out of a customer's hand. I overheard one lady say "I'm gonna make them miss me. I ain't coming in. I'm sick of this." Clearly customer experience is not at the top of anyone's list. Save all your money from here and take a trip somewhere like Disney where they actually care about making your trip and day pleasant. These people could really use some coaching. Just heard an employee in the restroom say "f these people" to a customer who asked for toilet paper... sigh.
We have the season passes and they are so worth it! We also recently purchased one of the drink deals, it's free unlimited refills for the day and then $1 per refill for any other visit, you just have to bring the cup. I will say you should expect food and other more necessary items to be expensive, to example we got a whole pizza and it was $32 and we got a bottle of spray on sunscreen because we forgot ours on the way out the door and it was $18 so keep that in mind! The kids got their faces painted and played one of those games where you win a prize and you get a good sized prize when you win! Nowadays if you do those types of games you purchase a game card, it's refillable and you can use cash(exact change) or a card to put money on them. The water park was a lot of fun especially when it was so hot out!
Clean, safe, fun, Carowinds is by far the best amusement park I've been to. Everything from peaceful small coasters to ones speeding over 90 MPH. Something for everybody. Would highly recommend to anyone!
The non-water park side of Carowinds is great! The water park, not so much. Waited for an hour to get on a body slide only to be told upon sliding down that I had to take out earring in my cartilage, nose ring and my rings on my hand. A little extreme don't you think? Water in tube was absolutely ridiculous and made you feel like you were drowning. Lost my earring going down slide after having to remove it. All this for one slide? Come on!!! Lazy river was disgusting and smelled terrible. I miss the old water park, whatever they are doing now, is a bust!
Awful experience. All the rides were closed yet the park was still open. They gladly take over $300 for a basket of fries, 2 cups of water, and a nice stroll at the park. It's ridiculous.
disappointing visit due to some of the rides being closed for lack of employees or for employees training... but I still had to pay full price to get my family in. Also parking passes are as over priced as the expensive admission tickets.
My daughter Monica really want to wish to go to Carowinds Theme Park this year or next year on Summer 2018-19 maybe? She'd never been there before as well as she loves a perfect day of her own life.
Been visiting this park for over 20 years. It has always been a favorite, however this year i was especially impressed with the improvements to service and the new rollercoasters! A real coaster enthusiast's paradise! I highly recommend getting there early and making Fury 325 and Copperhead Strike first stops to avoid lines and have the best thrills in the park. And there are collectible cups that are about 15 bucks that give you free refills all day and $1 refills all season and for only 30 bucks you get one that gives you free refills all season!
I love it! I've been there a few times in my life. Just got to go yesterday (first time in about 10 years) with my 20-year-old daughter - we had a BLAST!
The Fury 325 is now the standard against which all other roller coasters should be judged. EXCELLENT ride! A lot of good rides. The park is also quite clean. Good entertainment for all ages.
My experience was absolutely horrible!!!!!!! I spent more than $120 for admission for my family when the park is only open for 5 hours. In this 5 hours we only had time to do 4 things because the lines were so long, and to be honest no one seemed to care. We spent the 1st hour we got there waiting in line to order food, it cost me $57 for 4 tender trays with no drinks, then I was left standing for 15 more minutes waiting to get my food, I had also asked for 4 cups of water and was ignored, when I was noticed still standing after ANOTHER 20 minutes I was given 2 tiny clear cups of water and was informed they were out of cups and i would need to go to another booth for water. So now after waiting to get our food and having to share 2 small cups of water between 4 people, we decided to get in line for the first ride, where we also stood for an hour (it was the haunted house shooting ride), it was 8 pm when we finally got on. After that we went to the theater to get in line for the snoopy show, the line was so long we missed the 8:30 showing so we stayed in line for the 9:30 showing, during this time I tried to purchase a bottle of soda from the vending machine outside the theater and was informed AFTER SWIPING MY CARD that it was broken. So I went to the next booth and stood in yet another line to pay $6 for a 30 oz cup of soda and they couldn't even give me a lid or straw. So now I'm back in line for snoopy, we made it to the entrance and I was informed that I would need to discard my drink or I could stand outside and drink it at the risk of losing my place in line, so I trashed the drink I felt like I had fought for since I had entered the park (I understand there are no drinks allowed in the theater, but I could have at least been offered a place to put it until after the show). The show itself was really good and the actors were extremely talented. After the show was over we caught the very last ride of the night on the way out of the park, and this was only because there was no line because everyone had already left. So long story short, If you are going to admit a massive amount of people into a theme park that is only open for 5 hours make sure there are enough attractions and staff to handle the volume that you admit. In other words limit the amount of tickets sold or add more attractions.
called to cancel season passes only to be told that when you agreed to have the season passes you signed a contract that cannot be cancelled! That is a federal violation of the united states unfair and deceptive trade practices law! Anyone else with this issue I implore you to contact the consumer financial protection bureau (cfpb), the federal trade commission, and the better business bureau.
Beautiful park. Clean. Friendly staff. Better food options than King's Island trip last year. However, only 4 stars as food and drinks are super expensive. We are talking like higher than Disney. They have a cup and food passes but we were just passing through so did buy. Did not to carry a cup around everywhere either. I will several places had cups of ice water available for free.
Thrilling and lots of fun. This park is a lot of fun to visit but with that said, be ready to pay some good money for this attraction. Parking costs $20, General admission ranges between $45 and up at the gate. Best advice is to get these online where you will find slightly better deals on these and other necessities like Fast Lane pass. You will wait in-line for long periods of time for less than 1 minute worth of ride time on major attractions like The Intimidator or Fury. To get past the line on these you'll require a Fast Lane Plus bracelet which will cost you approximately $70 per person. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, shades, and a pair of good walking shoes if visiting the park during hot summer days. It's better to buy the souvenir drink bottle at $15 which will allow you to refill for free all day long. Oh yeah, and on the Roaring Rapids ride.... take your shoes and socks off, and keep them above water. Remember to click and give me a like if I helped in any way. Also check out some of my other reviews around the city to get the scoop on other places of interest. Likes are much appreciated.
This was my first time visiting this park so I wasn t sure what to expect. The park has some really fun rollercoasters and rides. Copperhead Strike gives you some really nice hang time. Fury 325 is really awesome and makes Cedar Point s Millenium Force feel like a kiddy coaster in comparison. Nighthawk is really fun too, and only 1 of 2 remaining Flying Dutchman coasters left by Vekoma. Only thing that sucks is they only run 1 train and have no single rider line, which makes wait times for the ride the highest in the park. The staff here are really friendly and nice people. They have food stands and restaurants around the park. They give out free cups of water which is nice. They have a planet snoopy with rides for the kids to enjoy and includes a waterpark. This park has some shows you can watch also. I was surprised to see Dinosaurs Alive here, but apparently this is the last Cedar Fair park to still have them! This park also has the last stand up roller coaster that Cedar Fair owns, The Vortex. My overall experience was a very pleasant one and I hope I can get back out to Carowinds again someday.
Would be a MUCH more enjoyable experience if the prices were reasonable. Be prepared to pay double to triple for anything but tap water inside the park.
I went to carowinds for the first time today. It was a overcast and rainy day, so the crowd wasn't too large. Thankfully the ride lines were very short! There is a large selection of thrill rides, many rollercoasters, and rides/attractions for kids as well! I definitely recommend making a trip to this park. They were also doing scarowinds later tonight, where it's a more scary version of the theme park.
Excellent experience for the family. Pricey but you come to expect that. Buy the season pass if you plan on coming again. By the second visit itll pay for itself.
Crowds are tough even with fast lane. Pools kept closing and water play area for kids was closed on a holiday weekend. This will be my family's last year getting season passes. The only reason I give it 3 stars is because my daughter loves it and I do anything to see her happy!!!
I love Carowinds most for their commitment to providing awesome thrill rides! But, it also helps that the park is clean, staff is friendly, and safety is their top concern.
Half the rides are closed not even an exaggeration...really wanted to ride the nighthawk too a lot of money spent for half the experience... And we didn t see one character and spent the entire day... I feel a bit ripped off
Very fun amusement park awesome rides awesome things if you love Charlie Brown at super fast roller coasters and you're in the Carolinas or the southeast come to Carowinds
Been a season pass holder for 5 years now and it will be my last. The smoking in this place has gotten out of hand. People smoke wherever they want. How this is place is considered a family establishment where majority of its customers are children, and yet they allow smoking is mind boggling. Oh yes they have smoking sections....which are not secluded from anything ummmm smoke does travel. I went to winterfest on Sunday night and left with a sore throat I inhaled so much smoke. I will not let my children suffer in this place. Bye bye carowinds.
Love it!!! Dinosaurs Alive is depressing, though!!! Please clean & maintain the animatronics!!! They're beautiful and the bird poop all over them kills the illusion.
Don't believe the hype. I expected more for the price. The water park was nice but the other side wasn't anything to write home about. They also wouldn't let my son ride the bumper cars but let kids shorter than him get on which was unfair
Several rides were closed which all happened to be the ones for 46" . The place is filthy, the staff looks miserable. This was not a good experience and to be honest a big waste of hard earned money. If Six Flags buys this property they have a lot of work ahead of them.
I love Carowinds since 2006, 2009, and 2015. O wish Carowinds will have a B&M Wing Coaster themed to the Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp. It will have ten inversions, a drop track, and a backwards launch. I hope Carowinds will like this idea.
We try to visit a couple of times a year. Lots of fun with some great coasters. It does get hot and crowded so be aware and plan the time of year you visit carefully.
Expensive, but yearly passes include parking and include winterfest and scarowinds to make it fathomable, Although it's ridiculous that not all rides are operational during those seasons. The food is outrageously expensive so bring your own. The one disco ride was manned by one person so took way too long to begin. Still had fun.
Ingot a season pass for the second time. I never used it the first time I got it. I really like riding furry 325. Go during the week the lines for the rides will be less. If you are looking for a good fun day this is a good place to start.
I only got to experience a few rides but overall I had a great time, the staff was very nice and helpful and the rides are thrilling, the food is a little expensive but it's definitely worth it because it taste so good that being said it is a very long wait if you don't have a fast pass and you spend more time in line then anything else but what can you expect from a popular park
Great Park, but having a season pass and coming a lot really let some of the cracks show. All the performers are amazing. It seems that the park is severely understaffed. Dirty bathrooms and closed food and drink kiosk even on moderately busy days. Don't get me wrong this is probably one of the top amusement parks in the country for value as far as what you can get with one day admission. My family has already been there over 15 times of season so it's easy to pick up the small details.
The improvements to Camp Snoopy and the wide selection of rides make this a great value for both locals and vacationers. The new Pre-K pass meant that our 4 year old is free! Very easy to walk the park and plenty of places to sit. Good shaded areas. The water park is nice as well. The parks has improved greatly since Cedar Fair took over. Seems to be adding new things every year, too.
Many foreign people work there that didn't speak English...my credit card info was stolen by the photo shop there, and used all over Florida before I got it canceled. I will not go back.
My family went on Friday for my daughters birthday after driving 2 1/2 hours to get there, there is no rides open!! Why? Well we were told that the employees didn t show up for work but yet the people standing there hollering at you to play those stupid rigged games could have went and operated the rides cause they weren t doing anything else. That is the last time I will be going although I do have a season pass, just a waste of money. Feel free to refund our money to us for 2 season passes and 2 day admissions. From now on I ll just go to six flags
No baby changer at first rest room at park.. or I couldn't find it.. lol everything else was amazing. The bathrooms were kept clean and cool. Not a big wait on Mondays....
