Too expensive not worth it . Not too impress.msybe six flags needs to take over .
Over All it was a great place to visit..that place is huge we went after four so the sun didnt bother us as much we purchased a 30 dollar vip parking it was a waste of money because the park is literally next to parking dont waste your money food is OVERLY expensive 5 dollars for a 20 oz coke product...14.99 for a souvenir cup with refills....i have a 1 and 2 year old my 1 year old couldn't get on many rides so that means my 2 year old couldn't get on rides either even though they had plenty rides for the 2 yr old so we just sat at the playground and watch my 13 year old ride rides...there are a few rides a one yr old can get on like the train and the teacups...thats all i seen..luckly they were free...
The smaller kids activities were lacking alot this year. They had 5 Trick or treat stops. Not sure why they gave out Trick or Treat bags for 5 pieces of penny candy. The prizes at the kids games were less than desirable compared to the other games.
I went to carowinds last week for the first time ever and I had an absolute great time!! Great place to take family and friends. I am definitely ready to go back!!!
Great amusement park offering a great selection of world class rollercoasters.
Overall it's fun. Friendly staff and majority of the rides are up and running. Not a long wait to get on rides either. We enjoy having the meal plan and refills on beverages. It is a very clean park. The only problem was the music was excessively loud throughout the park making it hard to hold a conversation. That is the main reason this only got three stars. We left early because of how loud the music was playing all night.
It's really nice. There are many roller coasters, I enjoy them a lots. The water park is also really good.
Alot of stuff was closed but other that that we have a good time till it started raining and they closed early.
This is a super mini vacay for the weekend getaways with your children!
Always a good time here. The fast pass still took nearly 30 mins for every ride tho.
Loved carowinds - sucks that it was closed throughout the 2020 season but i will definitely be there once they reopen whenever that will be as it is our annual family outing every summer!
Lots of fun. Went on a Wednesday and bought the Fast Pass Plus. It was worth it as we did not have to wait in line at all. Some rides don't have fast pass lines though.
Make sure you get a drink package, the lines, etc, you're gonna need it and at the cost of near $5 a cup, or 13.99 for a souvenir cup and you get free refills on the first visit, everytime you bring it after, refills are $1. They also have dining packages, various prices. Food is expensive without a dining package. Just be ready to sweat alot, look for shades.
Disappointing. As an Ohioan and someone who grew up at Cedar Point, I would think their sister park would be up to the same standards. Turned away for drinks, with THEIR unlimited drink band, after waiting 15 minutes in line, saying they don t take wristbands, although they sold them and we were told all kiosks would supply us. Half the refresh kiosks were closed, quite a few of the rides closed, and most of the water park was closed. It was a beautiful 90 degree day, not even the lazy river was open. I expect more from this place, my family and I drove 9 hours to come here as we are thrilled seekers and it s completely underwhelming. Fury ride is amazing though, pretty happy I at least got to ride that a few times!
Season pass holders. It's something fun to do when the lines aren't long! The children love it although I wish there were more rides open during Winterfest....
Fantastic family fun. The membership option is great for anyone who plans to visit a few times a year. Plenty of rides for all ages and interests. My daughter really enjoyed some of the smaller rollercoasters. I figure she'll tackle the bigger ones as she gets a little older.
Plenty of stuff for everyone to do. Water park is really nice. I went on a Monday. Longest wait in line was maybe ten minutes.
Buy the big cup and get free refills of Coke products all day.
Best experience I ve had at an amusement park. Some of the rides weren t open though other than that it was so much fun. The food was expensive so be prepared. Minus those few things it was so much fun. The seasonal passes are worth it!
Eventhough 2 rides were shut down during my visit & the line for the Fury was insane-Didn't get on for this reason- still had a blast. Lots to do and see.
Carowinds is a great place to go. We always get season passes, and the season souvenir cups. It is excellent for the kids too, as that's why we primarily go, but there are ride types for everyone there.
Great amusement park. The Fury is a fantastic rollercoaster. Great fun for the whole family.
Carowinds is so much fun! There is such a variety of roller coasters for all ages. Also Fury is so smooth and so much fun to ride (it was my first really big roller coaster). When you go, you should get the water bottles where you can refill, but if you just plan on drinking water, there are water cups that are small all around the park on hot days.
Fun place. If you're looking for aggressive, nail biting, adrenaline pumping roller coasters this is your place.
I always love going to Carowinds. It's crowded, the wait times for rides can be up to 2 hours, but my favorite experience in Carowinds, the park was just empty enough for me to ride my favorite roller coaster, The Fury 325, 12 times, in the six hours I was there. All of the food at the vendors is higher quality than I would expect at a theme park, and there are also a brand-name locations, such as Cinnabon and Starbucks. All of the rides at Carowinds that I've been on have been very entertaining, and the drop on the Fury 325 will never get old. some other notable coasters are the Carolina Cobra, the Afterburner, and the Nighthawk, and all of those roller coasters are absolutely incredible and very diverse. Carowinds is an amazing destination for groups, as package deals are available, and a buffet meal service for groups is also available. I would recommend bringing sunscreen, as most of the major operating hours of Carowinds are going to be very hot outside, but check the weather beforehand. Additionally, I would recommend that anyone going to Carowinds packs as light as possible, because you are unable to bring all of your belongings with you on the ride. Carowinds is an amazing experience, and I hope you get the chance to go!
Had a great time, loved the new copper head strike!
Had such a great time with my family. I love having season passes!
Love Carowinds! An amazing place to enjoy a date day/night & great place to take the kids! Of course the food is pricey but that's normal. I do suggest a season pass if you plan on going more than once.
Winterfest was gorgeous...so many lights. Had all of my favorite rides open. The characters and show staff were fully committed and put on spectacular performances. Couldnt ask for a better day...or a better turkey leg
Real mind blowing rides the fury was my favorite and very scary experience thank u for the fun
Nice amusement park, not too big. Water park side needs a calm pool, both wave pools are the same except one is salt water and one is chlorine. Like most amusement parks it is pricey. Needs more rides for larger people and people with larger chest sizes. Also could do with some more less intense rides for people that cannot ride coasters or rides that go upside down. Parking could use more handicap spaces. Concession employees could use some more training & be friendlier, they seem to look at it as "just a job they have to be at" they don't seem to be able to answer any questions and were more interested in socializing with each other or their phone rather than working.
Oh goodness! What fun! My daughter and husband and I had an awesome time. The lights, music, cold brrrr, the food, hot cocoa, the stage show, just amazing! Worth $105 that we paid.
I have the gold pass that I renew every year. Lots of rides and attractions. Plenty for all ages even little littles! My 2 year old really loves it there! Around Halloween they have haunted houses "Scarowinds". And around Christmas they have Winterfest. Both are fantastic. Definitely worth visiting more than a couple times!
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The park is very clean. Top of the line rides as well. I went there for Halloween Haunt and the actors were average but the attractions were over the top great.
Good, Clean, Family Fun.
The park is well run, clean, and full of fun things to do. Whether it's thrill rides like Giga Coasters or a petting zoo during Winterfest there's literally something for everyone.
Recommended.
Had a great time with the family. Snoopy and the Peanuts gang, what's not to like. Plenty of rides, games, and food for everyone. Fun for all ages.
First, the good: much cleaner and better landscaped than our last visit many years ago. They did a really nice job on creating/updating Camp Snoopy. Lots of coasters to choose from! Now the not so greats:park map a bit hard to see n navigate, restrooms seemed to be far apart, alot of the photo ops were closed as well as some of the food places...customer service was non existent! undecided if we will return..much rather suck up the drive to Busch Gardens!
This place is so fun for family and friends and the rides are safe and really fun!
CAROWINDS is the best of both worlds... An amusement/water park
HAPPY Fri-YAY!!!
Yes it's the same part that I wrote about before it Camp Snoopy the park is pretty good it's not what Disney like I said before but you have fun and you enjoy it and I think the price is pretty good for the parks and the rise and the fact that you have a water park to it's kind of pretty awesome
Love taking my kid here but some of the employees move very very slow at times. If they had better customer service and be moving a little faster helping the line not get so long. Especially amount people have to pay to get in. Make it worth there while.
Usually have a wonderful time here, but this last visit left me with a sour taste. Everything was shut down. All of the rides, very few open kiosks, many of the food booths were nearly out of options.. it was a rough experience
Absolutely amazing. There's something for everyone here. The rides are awesome and the staff are nice. The area is clean. I also personally believe a place like this is definitly safer than a state fair since the rides are not moved every month. The only down side is the price for some things on the inside such as food are more on the expensive side.
Amazing!! I absouloutly love this place!! Definetly a place for all ages of thrill seekers!! Snoopy land for the younger ones and then the main park for the older group!! I suggest going to their water park as well!! Super fun time! They have lockers in the water park, but u must have the tickets for the waterpark in order to have access to them... Lots of food options! Good variety! They do have tubs at each ride for people to put their bags, phones, money in while on the ride! (No security with them so could get stolen) Lots of school and camps go here! I highly suggest getting there when they open and already knowing what u want to do so u can get there before a line forms! The rides with long lines usually are the big rides!! I hope this has helped u!
I love this place. It's my favorite place to go in Charlotte. It's a lot of fun.
Great place, affordable for all incomes, and lots of fun! Water park included!
I usually love coming to Carowinds! The cups are now smaller! When you by the season passes you can go to the park for 2018 & 2019. However the fast passes that you pay a ton for are only for 2019! A little misleading when you purchase or as an add on!
Went about a year ago. AMAZING THEME PARK! Nighthawk is absolutely amazing, flying coasters are so cool. Intimidator Carowinds is an inversion-free ride that has some sweet hills and airtime. Afterburn is a coaster like all the others, but it s incredibly smooth, and is a suspended coaster. It s underrated. Copperhead Strike is one of my favorites. The line took an hour, but it was worth it in the end. Awesome addition to Carowinds. The Flying Cobras was a bit rough, but nothing much. The suspense as you climbed up the lift hill was killer. Carolina Cyclone, was PAINFUL. Beware! It s an old ride but it was so rough I legit had a headache. If you don t go on it you aren t missing out on a lot. Fury 325: really fun. It seems similar to Intimidator Carowinds but I like it a bit better just because it s the Fury. It doesn t have all the sharp turns like the Intimidator 305 at KD. Vortex: cool stand-up coaster, which I heard is only one of four in the US.
I liked this place a lot, you should definitely go some time!
My family and I had a blast there! Nice sized park. Alot of things to do. My daughter got on her first thrill ride here and cant wait to come back. We're visiting from Boston on a family roadtrip. Very convenient location as the hotel we stayed in was only 8mins away. The food was good. A lil pricey but its expected at an amusement park.
I love love love roller coasters and have been to amusement parks everywhere. This one will hold a special place for me as it was my first. Unfortunately I cant give a full 5 stars due to the absolute rudeness of the employees. They have no manners at all and treat guest as a burden. It saddens me that this is what I experience when I come back to my first amusement park.
We went here today for the water wave pool, was we our there for 2 hours and had a ball. They have two different wave pool seated coved areas life guards four on each side 9f the pool. Alot of working walking around being helpful the smoke wings and Hopper in I think that's the name of it is in the pool area or to water park. Carowinds has change a lot since I was a little child, but I had a good time..
If you want to go to SCarowinds and it opens at 7 you better plan to head into the parking lot by 5. Within a 3-mile radius of Carowinds is nothing but gridlock by the time we get in there we're going to have maybe two and a half hours... At 60 bucks a ticket this is bullcrap
Always fun, but very much over crowded on the weekwnds. Don't go on a Saturday it's #Packed otherwise very fun experience for the family.
Thrilling and fun coasters and attractions for all ages
Winterfest was pretty cool and was fun. All about the kids, nice amount of rides open and plenty for the kiddos to do. They do need to make exiting the park easier, and they need to upgrade the parking with some clear lines and markings and lighting on the road out.
Fun place for children and adults. Have good walking shoes!
Had a great time with the family. Spent almost all day at the water park bc it was so hot. As expected food/drinks expensive but that's no surprise. Lines weren't a problem bc we stayed at the wave pool.
Half of the childrens rides were closed, but same good old Carowinds as always.
Took the kids for their birthdays. It was OK but it's getting bad as far as customer service and people are so rude. Im.not blaming Carowinds, but what happened to souther hospitality, people are not bringing their children up to be polite and respectful anymore. But me and my husband may go back for scarowinds. Just us no kids.
Great park that improves every year. Cedar Fare clearly has invested a lot into it some purchasing. New Copperhead Strike is allot of fun. A completely different experience from Fury. If you live close enough get a Gold Pass and enjoy Winterfest along with the other special events...
This place has just about anything for anybody's style. If you use the discounted deals you will save and everybody gets what they want. Winterfest was Awesome, I can say that Staff work had in putting on a performance that will dazzle people and I may say they do it well. I will be purchasing a 2020 season pass before December 31 and you can too for a low price of $69.99 plus tax going just 2x will pay for itself throughout the year. Peace be with You and GOD Bless each One.
I absolutely love this park! We have platinum passes and frequent a fee different Cedar Fair parks. Being from northeast Ohio, this park has a Geauga Lake feel to it. It's a great people watching park for those like myself, that don't ride. The park is extremely clean and the employees all act like they love their job and want to make your experience the best it can be. We have found the food to be hot and fresh....more so than Cedar Point. My husband and kids love the coasters and other rides as well. They have a variety of activities for all ages. We have children who are teens and also an 18 mos old and we all have a great time! Water park is awesome as well. Slides, Wave pools, water spray parks and the best lazy river! Definitely a park more than worth visiting!!!
Loved it great place to take the family a sweetheart or a group of friends!!
My family has season passes and go often. We love it. It's very pricey and crowded at times but is worth it when you buy season passes and can go anytime(days it's not so crowded) (mid week and late afternoons)
We had problems getting into scarowins on sept 21. Purchased tickets online and ended up not being able to get into the park due to traffic. I sent an email to customer service about our problem and they sent us new tickets and free parking. I was very pleased at there consideration for our bad experience.
Amazing! Like almost every day that we are there!!!
Beautiful lights for Winterfest, BUT the prices advertised on the kiosks are INCORRECT!!! The sign says $8.99 for an Icee & a hot pretzel. I asked why she charged me more and she apologized and said they are special pricing for Winterfest and that they just don't change the signs or post it anywhere. I thought that it was illegal to post one price then charge something more. At the minimum it's completely WRONG to do that. And holy cow $20 for parking??? And $46 for 2 people to eat nuggets, fries and drinks at Chick-fil-A???? Disney is way cheaper!! I will definitely NOT be going back!!!!!!
Awesome rides! & Half price admission if go after 4pm! We had a Great time! They have reasonable prices on most things!
Average size crowd, on a very hot muggy day. Had Fast Track passes, so getting rides was not an issue. The Fury and The Intimidator was crazy good coasters. Enjoyed the classic Carolina Gold Rush coaster. Which was the first adult roller I ever road, back in 1973, with my dear late father. That was very memorable. Overall, the rides were great. On a diet, so i didn't eat or drink there, except for water. Food looked good though. Great time.
It really wasnt a bad place to come have fun for a day but the bathrooms where the water parks are at are disgusting I understand the overpriced everything but for the bathrooms to make you feel gross by just walking in that's how I felt. Also the water in the slides was gross and salty from so many people going through. They really need to make it a little better. On the waterpark side was extremely over crowded and that's scary to me.
Great place to go our with friends but a bit pricy and lines are very long. I'd reccomend paying extra for the fast line plus
I will never spend another cent at this place bought 2 season passes spent over 400$ and they are closed for covid and they won't give refunds
Granddaughter had a blast at winter fest. Parade was good.
This was way more fun than I expected! The theme of the ride was pretty fun too.
The CLEANEST Cedar Fair park we've been to so far! Like Disney clean! Nicest bathrooms as well. FURY 325 is amazing. Much better food options than most parks as well. (Salads in big marketplace, and huge servings at panda express!) Equiv to Kings Island in rides, but not near as big of a park. 2 full days is good. VERY nice park!
