People do not waste your money on Scarowinds! It has taken 1 he just to get into the parking lot and now the lines alone to get into the park are ridiculous! You can go to a regular haunted house for half the price and less hassle! The lines are so long you may mine lucky to ride one ride and through one haunted house! Not worth the aggravation!
The park looks a lot of fun and there's a lot of rides to try. However, we were unable to try any of them because they closed the park the moment we walked in due to the weather, which we understand. The customer service though is nothing but a lack of professionalism. They literally told us that they can't do anything about the situation. We also called customer service and they hung up on us. We got nothing from the $200 we paid or the parking. The worst customer service experience I've ever been through.
Pretty good rollercoasters, parking is a disaster though,dont waste money on prefered parking cause no one is out there and people park wherever they want. Came here from ohio, still like cedar point better.
Carowinds rocks and has some of the best coasters around. Almost all of the staff are professional and friendly.
If you're planning to eat or drink in the park, make sure you are prepped for the procedure of getting one of your kidneys removed to sell to science to help pay for it.
Just getting fast-food for two, you're looking at almost $40. Drinks are $5 a pop almost everywhere.

We visit every year but we were very disappointed this year. The park was supposed to be open to 10 and ended up closing at 7. There was some storms early in the day and the rides closed for a couple of hours. The storms passed through around 5 pm and everything opened back up and was operating. The weather had cleared and the weather radars showed that no the storms and rain was over for the day. However the storms earlier had caused a lot of people to leave the park. Those of us who say for over 2 hours through the storms and waited them out were ready to finish out the night and have a good time only to be told over the intercom the park would be closing soon. Many people were disappointed. We drove over 6 hours and was very disappointed. We have loved Carowinds and always enjoyed vacationing here but now we think it is time to start trying to find a new place. We would totally understand had they closed when the storms where there but to close after it was all over and they had resumed normal operation was uncalled for.
This place is fun, but it seems like a less well-balanced experience than it used to be. Makes sense, with the move to Cedar Fair, that they are more geared up for max-intensity rollercoasters, but I miss things like the James Bond/Spongebob motion theatre.
The rides are fun. But my favorite is certainly the waterpark
If I could, I would give this ten stars. Carowinds have been on the come up since cedar Fair took over. You need get the fast lane passes to have a great time and day.
Great rides for everybody. Imaginative fair rides with some cool interactive mechanics, small little coasters for casuals, and even great adventures for thrill seekers. The Fury deserves it's reputation as does the rest of the park. After Burn being a personal favorite. Highly recommend going especially to Rock the Park. Skillet is an amazing band to end on after a day at Carowinds.
So i gave Carowinds a 5 star because it's so much fun for the whole family. That being said, it's a smaller operation and expect ride closures in both the regular park and water park on a daily basis. As a passholder I'm fine with this, but would be aggravated if i was only going for one day.
This is my home park and I absolutely love the direction that it's headed! Fury 325 is a must ride and Copperhead Strike is a great addition to the park for 2019!
Winterfest was awesome. Enjoyed the Christmas music and the vibe was festive.
Carowinds is a great place to big a Kid it has the entire areas just for kids including new rides every year, Like This year they even added a playground, don t get me wrong if your a teenager or an Adult, You will enjoy everything the park has to offer, one things for sure, it s impossible To visit everything in the park, so I recommend getting a season pass, better year get a Gold Pass, because with a Gold pass you can come and go as much as you want, Parking is Free, Live music in multiple places of the Park, and you get access to Scarowinds and winter fest for FREE, there s also a dining plan and a food plan, This year we got both, normally we just get drink plan and get free refills all year for $30.00 this made allot of sense, there s many hot Days in the summer and having drinks just does it for me, but this year we decided to splurge a little and got 2 food plans $100 each, they say it pays for it self in 4 visits, I was skeptical at first, but later on I knew I made a right decision, food plan allows you to eat every 4hrs and only 2 times per day, turns out each meal is $12.99 so yes $26 buck per day in 4 days more then pays for it self, about the food portion sizes, believe me it s plenty to eat, be prepared to have a lunch box for left overs or a ziplock bag, The Food many is very nice, there s something for everyone, Salads for some, Burgers and Fries, even Veggie burger, I tried it couple time and it tastes great, the French fries are amazing, they are kinda like curly fries but in there own way, I never seen fries anywhere else like this, they come with a cheese dip, which is absolutely amazing, you got to try it, moving on There s very nice Mexican style food, you get colored chips, red white and blue with your choice of chicken or steak quesadilla also moving on there is turkey leg this turkey leg is so much food to eat it comes with your choice of beans or Mac and cheese, there is also barbecue sandwiches steak sandwiches and everything taste so good moving on there is a bread bowl style bowl filled with meatballs it is very interesting and tasty and there s pizza there as well besides all this there s plenty other stuff to choose like yogurts all kinds of drinks. Carowinds is so fun i love going there. My family has been there like over 30 times. The water park is fun to so is scarowinds and winter fest
this place is great but, on thursday they close a little bit too early because i am in elementary school so i have to wait till i get home from school in order to go there and my parents have work so they need to make the hours longer during the weekends
It would have been nice to ride the roller coasters while were there but they shut down as soon as we got there. We understand weather changes happen but the worst part was the customer service. There was no compensation for have just spending over $200. The people working there could care less. I will not waste my money there anymore.
Have a great time everytime we go there!! Warning though watch your belongings. Someone stole my boyfriends cell phone so just keep a close eye on your stuff. Other than that, its a great time!!
For the price we were not super impressed. Signage was severely lacking and the map wasn't clear which meant we wasted time searching for ride entrances. Lazy River attendants were doing a lot of rudely yelling conflicting directions at visitors. The rides that we were able to ride were mostly good, though we were limited because we had a child at a 44" height. Aside from the Lazy River, attendants were generally polite and helpful. Food prices at the Chick-Fil-A in the park were steep ($8 sandwich, $5 fries, $5 drink). Perhaps it would be better with a season pass, but we will not likely return.
Brought my family to visit Carowinds last week. Daughter had fun, but my wife and I were not nearly as enthused. The food is very high in price. Many rides were out of order. Overall disappointed.

My family and I love Carowinds: 5, 9 and 12 years old. The rides for 'short' ones are great in Snoopy land. My 9 year old qualified for the 325 Fury last summer and it is mind blowing. I enjoy the tavern next to the Dale Earhardt coaster for cold beer. Don't forget the waterpark which is great but can have a 30 minute plus security wait line to enter at opening!
So, so, so much fun!! The rides are fantastic, the food is pretty good too!! I highly suggest going there for the day!! Just don't forget your sunscreen
Fun Experience with Family. I feel like, i am a kid when i go on Carowinds rides. I also love Christmas Decorations during Christmas time.
The new Snoopy area is wonderful! I enjoyed bringing my grandkids. However, the water area is not a suitable place for little ones because of the presence of thong bathing suits and several males that were walking around with their pants unzipped showing their underwear. Can t there be a dress code? Please!
Carowinds is so much fun, I have a great time Everytime I go, you never get bored, full of surprises and great food.
Have had many fun trips to this place. Some great rides, and some neat stores. Watch out for wasps! Got stung while reaching for a napkin.

Amusement park located near Charlotte but sitting directly on the NC and SC border with the park sitting in both states. Features a number of coasters and rides as well as a large water park. Easy to spend a full day of longer. Can have huge crowds. Everything is expensive when they get you in and getting in is not cheap. Season passes should definitely be considered even for just a couple of days. Fast pass option adds even more to cost, but worth the expense if visiting on weekend or other traditionally crowded days. They do offer discounted admission is evening which is good deal as park is less crowded, but water park not open.
Me and my family had 5 season passes and we went to carawinds my kids had such a great time but be ware of the HOT sun!!!! And a WHOLE lot of walking!!! But we rode 8 rides in 3 hours!! I hope we can come again soon!!!!

The new snoopy peanuts expansion makes the park much more fun for the little kids! More rides for them. Also, the Winterfest was spectacular. This year they did a parade. All of the participants in the parade were smiling and waving which in return put a smile on the childrens face.
I have purchased a season pass with a dining plan for the past several years. I had my daughter and husband with me today. They were standing in line to ride while I got the food at panda express. I had to pay for our food after I had already spend $300 on the season dining plan alone simply because they were not with me. Ridiculous! I paid for the plan why do I need to pay for the food again???
most of the rides and stores were closed and they should start letting people get refills for 20cents if they dont have those plastic cups.
We went to winter fest at Carowinds. The atmosphere was very festive and the decorations were beautiful. It was not crowded and the lines for the rides were short. Maybe because it was a Thursday evening. The parade was really nice but it is not get to the front of the park until 9:30. It was a cold 30 min wait outside.
Make sure you have enough time for all rides. Staying till 6 pm will not cover all rides. Fast pass is very expensive. A bottle of water is five dollars. Best is to take a bottle and fill it up at a water fountain.
Great for families and roller coaster enthusiasts. Always live shows going on. Gets very busy on the weekends. Food is a bit expensive. If you're vegan, you might want to eat something before you go in because their vegan choices are very limited to salads. Or, you can email them and let them know you have dietary restriction and they will send you a letter giving you permission to bring outside food. You just have to show the letter to the employees at the security scanners.

It became a better experience when you purchase their selected packages witch cost quite a bit. Once their several packages have been purchased then the experience is a lot better.
The staff were generally really nice and helpful despite how cold it was. Everything is overpriced, but it's a theme park so that's to be expected. The app with the map made things easier to find. My toddler loved camp snoopy. If you don't want to watch the parade at the end of winterfest leave before 930.

Good park with fun coasters, but I think it's lacking in atmosphere. I'm used to Busch Gardens, which is frequently awarded most beautiful amusement park in the country, so I'm spoiled. But the rides have no character. The food was also just okay, not great. The standing up coaster was incredibly uncomfortable for me, but the coaster which tilts you backwards until you are laying flat was fantastic. Longest line in the park, but well worth it.
NEVER EVER go to Carowinds unless the weather is absolutely perfect. I went with the wife and two kids. We paid all the money to get into the park including the fast pass +. The kids rode one ride then a small rainstorm came through and almost all the rides were closed for the rest of the day. It was a little windy after the rain and everything in the park was closed the rest of the day. Extremely frustrating experience. Kids were crying and wasted hundreds of dollars because they won t refund money due to weather. UNLESS THE WEATHER IS PERFECT DONT RISK GOING TO THE PARK. WORST PARK EXPERIENCE EVER.
Feels like hell. Spent the majority of my day in a small patch of shade I found. Carowinds needs to invest in mister stations to cool ppl off while in line. I will never visit between March and October again.

Love the roller coasters buy food tickets online as food can be costly. The only bad thing was some our larger family couldn't ride the rides just wouldn't close on them rhey were like 290lbs.

Super fun! Their is alot to do. The dinosaur trail was really cool! Planet Snoopy has a good selection of rides for the kids l. And the water park was awesome except that it closes at 5 which sucks for the ppl that have to drive an hour to get there and don't get up at the crack of dawn to be there. Super busy the day I went so long waits but was worth it.
We had such an amazing time. We have never spent a holiday like this one and we loved every minute of it. Carowinds surely went out of thier way to make it exciting, fun and magical!

I have been coming here since I was a teenager, more than 30 years ago! This place has changed so much and gotten better each year. This is a great coaster park. My kids love the rides. I always enjoy the live music and shows.
The fury is the best . Especially at night near closing time . It how's faster. You should also go to the water park it's cool too. You will the best time ever. I promise..

While there is LOTS to do I deduct two full stars for this review for one reason. Their lockers are absolute horse hockey garbage. It's all done electronically with credit cards.
Size: Their "jumbo" locker is maybe 1.5 by 1.5 by 1.5.
Price: It costs a whopping 27$. Absolute bonkers.
Maintenance/service: They are auto shutting so if you aren't paying attention it will shut and lock and force you to put in the code (that you selected) on the keypad. When we entered the code that my friend had put in. The locker refused to open. My friend tried to flag over a worker in the adjacent store. And he was told he had to wait in line of 5 people before they'd help him. Upon receiving help 10 minutes later the maintenance worker told my friend we had put in the wrong code... But I watched him enter it both times and the code history showed we did. Later in the day there was not 1, not 2, but 3 separate groups that were unable to get into their lockers. So it's not a solo problem...
Other than that the lines were short and the rides were great.
Had a great time with the family! No matter what are6 group your children are in, they'll have something for them! Great place to visit.
