Carrowinds Amusement Park of the Carolinas Reviews

These folks here at Carowinds needs to find some good help and get thier act together. We've visited this place several times only to find out many and I do many Vendors aren't open alot of the coasters aren't running and the ones that are I would be affraid to ride some of those kids running those are slow and on thier cell phones. I personally thing that if your working for a place like this you shouldn't be allowed to have your cell phones on you. I have season passes here and at Dollywood and i just don't visit Carowinds much because of issues there.

I will be calling customer service. Like $400 in not to mention all of the time lost and I only go to ride one roller coaster because they were down I mean I understand about safety and all so depending ehst customer service says I might up the stars maybe?

Haven't been in a while, must say, impressive; clean with a lot more rides. Lines were not too long even though the park was busy. Fury was amazing, you gotta ride the front. Water park had something for everyone. Live entertainment at Harmony Hall was on point, tight group. Stayed til park closing, so much to do.

As far as coasters and thrill rides, Carowinds is top notch. But for overall guest experience, it's a middle teir park. Customer service and cleanliness are minimal. If coasters are your thing, you'll love it. Don't bother with the photo pass.

So my school HRMS was supposed to go to carowinds for a choir trip but they canceled us all because they thought we duplicated out tickets!

We took our daughter to Carowinds to celebrate her 8th birthday and she had a blast! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because many of the attractions were closed. However, it was a memorable 8th birthday for our girl and us!

Best amusement park I've been too. Far superior to those in Florida. Fair price for admission, awesome water park, great rides for all ages, great shows, great Halloween events, great winter/Christmas event, free dog boarding. I only wish the park was open throughout the entire year so I could go more. But I'll sacrifice it if it helps them to maintain the park and continue expanding.

I like that after summer they do scarowinds for Halloween followed by winter fest for the holiday season. Wish they could add a bit more in-between sized roller coasters. Also, in summer, be mindful of when you go because they close the rides for thunderstorms. Food needs a little work but overall good park

If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. This place was amazing in many aspects.
1) The park was beautiful and clean
2) Employees were very kind and helpful
3) Fantastic rides (ie fury, copperhead, intimidator, afterburn)
4) Friendly guests
5) I didn't hear a single curse word at this park during the 1.5 days I was here.

I went in without extremely high expectations. However, the park was so awesome it pleasantly blew away my expectations. At the end of the day, I even wish I had a few more hours at the park. It was one of my most fun days at any theme park. Hopefully other parks can have the same awesome qualities Carowinds has. I highly recommend visiting here if you are in the area! The awesome rides alone makes this a must visit!

Good winter wonderland. Kids had fun. They put on a good show!

Nice family experience........kids loved the parade. Clean restrooms but food can be expensive......as most park food is. Put this on your "to do" list if you haven't.

Fun family friendly place. Definitely worth getting the season pass so if you go more than once. It's 20.00 just to park so you might as well get the season pass and within two visits it pass for itself. Love the water park. I love that u also get free access to the scarowinds and Christmas wonderland. Definitely worth going!

Had such an amazing time here! We splurged and got the fast pass! It was very much worth the extra cost. We were able to just walk up to the ride we wanted and had very minimal wait times. This was truly a meaningful trip!

The ABSOLUTE best place for family fun in the area... fun for all ages!

Amazing experience. Being a local Carolina resident it's so convenient to get here very often. Rides are amazing. Some are more thrilled. Annual pass is an added benefit to riders(if you go at least twice in an year, annual pass is recommended). And as usual, all foods have special prices here.

Winterfest exceeded my expectations. It was so much fun and just beautiful. Great time with family. The Charlie Brown Christmas show was spectacular!!!! Lots of fun photo opportunities!!!

Dont fo on a weekend, longest lines ever. Foods ridiculously priced.

Going there as early as possible is like in any other park very convenient. We were able to spend the entire day at the park without having to wait too long in line. However, I went there on the weekend before labour day. So this might have had an impact on the visitor numbers. It is a park full of rollercoasters and an adrenalin rush is guaranteed! Also many F&B options are available. Having had a very sunny day waiting in line was not that painful since shade was provided 90% whilst waiting. Overall a fantastic experience!

It is amazing and fun it is a great place for families and people who love the big coasters

The fact we went several times this summer strictly for the water park and several of the attractions were closed due to being under staffed is ridiculous. The lazy river of all things should never be closed. And it shouldn't happen mutilple times throughout the season. Staff isn't friendly, most are there just to be there. The don't smile they don't hold basic conversations.

Every time my family and I go we have a wonderful time my best part of it all is the water part my son's like me he's a water bug my daughter loves to ride rides then come to the water park and thank God they started giving out free water but it's amazing if you want to go more than one time you're better off getting a season's pass and go all year be paying the same to get in twice that cost as much as a season pass

Great theme park but the prices inside are highway robbery! Also with $20/car for parking, they can fix the parking lot...and offer shuttles!

Not only do they have the Fury 325, which is the fastest, highest roller coaster in the world, they have several others as well. Including the Intimidator, which is the smoothest roller coaster I've ever ridden. They have other rides that I've never even seen anywhere. And if you get season passes, you must get the food plan, they have a very good selection of restaurants, and they're free with the plan. Not to mention the water park, which has two wave pools and several rides including a lazy river.

Winterfest was great I loved how they decorated and the rides they had going and the shows as well. We paid for the carriage ride through the water park unfortunately it was very short and they didn't have many displays up so hopefully they update it for next year.

Small park with alot of rides. Some rides can be intense so those rides are not for the faint of heart

Somewhat crowded, but totally ok 15-30 minutes wait per ride. Better to buy the pass to go ahead of everyone it's worth it. Food good, employees kind, courtesy. Hot!! Of course that's beyond their control. Lol otherwise great day. Love new rides. They have plenty kids rides. Adult rides. They even have Fair rides. Games for old and young. The water park is amazing kids loved it. They have slides for young and old and they have a small water waiting pool for little ones.

All my family love this place! I can just say that this park is the most recognizable place in the city!
For sure, it's not Disney World, but it's an excellent place in NC to have a fun family adventure!

Awesome park. Clean and well maintained. As someone who grew up in Atlanta going to six flags my whole life i'd recommend carrowinds over six flags any day.

One of the best trips I've had in a long time. Prices better than Dollywood and allot better rides.

We went to carowinds for the festival of lights. It was very very beautiful. I went with my son daughter-in-law and grandson. We had an awesome time looking at all the lights and riding the rides. It had been quite a few years since I had been to carowinds. I really enjoyed myself

Had a great time. Perfect for families! Panda Express ducked. I'd recommend packing lunch and leave the park to eat. Food & drinks were so overpriced!

Adults can enjoy. Not many rides for kids but our kids enjoy the water park...

I get paying 50 bucks for a family of 3 to eat but they were selling dead food at the pizza place , all of it was old from the morning. No manager avaliable, the kids working there cared more about conversation between their selves than helping figure out a resolution. When you pay 200 to get into a place you just expect better customer service. Rides were ok.

SPECTACULAR! Went to see the Christmas shows (Christmasfest) and lights. It is well put together and the performance were spectacular. We saw the Christmas parade, that was too much fun, especially for the kids. We went last year so I guess it's safe to say this is a new family tradition. You must attend this event.

Decent amusement park. Can probably satiate your adrenaline cravings. Only a couple major rollercoasters, rest of the park seems more geared towards families (which is fine, just doesn't apply to me).

My family had a lot of fun with little wait time on the day we went!

Water park could use some updates. Food generally sucks and is extremely expensive. Staff is rude at best, but I understand. It's hot and everyone is grumpy so they've maxed out on their patience. The water park features are fairly standard considering the price: $73/person (although coupons and Groupon deals are easy to find). Not all bad though - park is generally clean and safe with clean restrooms and changing areas, plenty of lifeguards, and tight security. Like the overall layout as well.

Great park, I can't wait to visit next year to ride their new coaster.

So much fun! Went in the summer and winter both experiences were completely different but amazing and the staff was so nice each time.

Awesome park. Pricey and the lines are long but I still had a lot of fun. Try to bring friends if you go.

Got a Groupon for here so it cost my girlfriend and I $80. The park was great and super clean compared to the Six Flags counterparts. The rides were awesome and none of the lines were too bad. The reason for 4 star not 5 comes from two reasons.

1) Some rides don t have anywhere to put your stuff and they don t tell you so you have to get out of line, go put stuff in your locker, and then wait again.

2) They didn t actually open on time. Got there at 9:40 and they let us get over to the line and wait, but rides didn t start operating til 10:30.

Other than that the park was amazing!

We have season passes and love it. They are beginning to bring more entertainment in. The water park is a blast and the coasters are fun as well. It would be nice if they added some nicer restaurants though with cheaper food options. The prices are insane. The staff also looks miserable and some can't answer questions about the park.

Update: The employees have a completely different attitude this year. They have been very helpful.

Visited Scarowinds for the fourth year in a row and honestly the haunted houses were always so lame that we had stopped going in them completely but this year they had redone one and named it "Urgent Scare" and it was soooo much better. I think I screamed at least 15 times. And the new candy apples this year called " Fright Bites" are amaaaaazing. I would go back next year just to get those apples again . And Copperhead Strike is such a different type of roller coaster, I really enjoyed it. Overall best trip to Scarowinds that we've ever had.

The day we went was horrible to begin. Ada was not serviced. Waited 30 minutes before they filled out my disability pass they gave me an hour-and-a-half wait time. The young teenagersthat was supposed to check the ride was not doing a good job they would just run down the aisle and tap the bars. A man start hollaring his bat wasn't locked. It was a crazy day. After talking to a supervisor, he made my day a little better. I think they should have more retirees/seniors working and controlling the rides instead of those young teenagers.

Big time coaster park, plus some good stuff for kids. There are many seasonal events of which to be aware.

Scareowinds was amazing. The traffic was not. Over an hour wait just to get in the park

The rides were great but they closed the park early without warning due to low attendance. Regardless it was a good time and got our moneys worth.

Excellent park, if you get a chance definitely visit this park. I have been to several other parks and this is one of my favorites. Not only do they have some world class rides, they also have some world class employees. Grace and Qurian working on Fury 325 made an amazing coaster experience next level. I also stopped into guest services several times with very unique and specific questions and they did everything possible to get the answers I was looking for and make sure I had the best experience possible. Unfortunately, that is not always the case at other cedar fair parks, but here they went above and beyond. This experience was more than worth the 7 hour trip from Ohio, hope to return soon.

My son and I went there today and had a blast. I spent the $90.00 for each of us for the fast pass plus and it was worth the money. We were able to start at fury 325 and we only had 4 people on front of us in the fast lane line. There were over 150 people in the regular line. It seemed high when I bought them but wouldn't do it any other way. So glad to have had so much fun with myson. .

Carowinds was lovely park! Lots of roller coasters and fun for the whole family. Copperhead strike is their newest ride and it is fun, fast, and wild. The theming for the ride is I credibly detailed. Fun park!

Amazing fun for the whole family! I don't care how many time you go there is never a dull.moment!!! The whole family has a blast and it's like that every time you go :-)

Cedar Fair parks strive for top of the line coasters and they succeed, however don't expect to find every one of them open here unless its a pretty busy day. Have grandma hold your stuff for the newest attractions or be prepared to fork out a few more dollars on a locker. The smaller attractions feel very lackluster after being stripped of their licensened theming and many of these as well as some park eateries and amenities are overdue for an update.

Very good theme park with some excellent rides and attractions. Clean, tidy and easy to navigate around. Good roller coasters for various ages. Would benefit from more simulator rides...
Included in admission is access to the waterpark which has some great individual and group rides.
Daily parking is priced at $20.
Waterpark Lockers are charged at $17 for the smallest locker available... 3 sizes available and you must have a locker unless you are in a group with someone looking after all your stuff.
Overall this is a very good theme park due to the quality and size of some new rides. Admission is fair but required extras let it down as they are excessivley inflated and none required extras (food, drinks) are also priced highly. 4 stars. What will you do Carowinds to upgrade and become a 5 star park like Islands of Adventure or EPCOT?

Great rides!! In my opinion they were better than six flags and have actual restaurants in the park. Tickets and parking are cheaper if you check their daily deals.

Very fun. Not the biggest park but the fury is amazing and the water park is pretty good. It's a good family time!
