Cantina Los Caballitos/M at Morris House Hotel Review

I am just not that into this place. My girlfriend loves it here - I guess because it is a change of pace from where we usually go. The food is okay but it tends to hurt my stomach. The drinks are reliably not very strong. For what you pay for this place I prefer places that put stronger emphasis on quality and ambiance. This place is so loud sometimes. I will keep coming back when my girlfriend wants to but I prefer to go elsewhere.

The food was tasteless and did not represent Mexican Cuisine to my taste.

I like this place a lot, the location, the food and the drink. Is one of my favorite Mexican in Philly.

Although we were seated instantly, no one came to even give us water. We waited about 15 minutes before leaving. I saw one server ask if he was working out table and they told the other server no, but the people that were seated behind us were served by that same server. I m not sure if there was a mix up but it definitely left a bad taste in our mouths

Cantina Los Caballitos, or "Cantina" as it's called by the locals, is DELICIOUS. They flavors they use in their Mexican food is out of this world. They also have the most delicious margaritas I've ever had. They have different kinds of pitchers you can order for margaritas. Always just order the full margarita pitcher for the table. I recommend the margarita called "La Onda" which is a watermelon style

I dont know where to begin. Beforehand, i am phone posting. Excuse my errors.
I have been here once before for lunch, it was essentially empty (relevant soon), service was fine back then.
Today I go in with my girlfriend and it is quite packed. We requested outdoor seating and told it was a one hour wait. Thats quite fine. When were texted to come back, we were given indoor seating.
We requested again to go outdoors and ended up just taking indoor seats. We sat for 10 minutes without service before we decided to get up and leave. The people next to us ended up getting served then asked questions then left without asking us for anything. Only when we stood up to leave did she bother to come by and rudely tell us "you know it is raining outside."
We look out and its barely spitting. You dont bother to serve us, but you bother to argue with us? We ended up leaving. 10 minutes of walking to an AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant and not a single drop of rain.

If you like being rudely spoken to and want fake mexican staffed by a bunch of white hipsters, go here.
If you want authentic mexican food, just use google and walk 10 mins away and have AUTHENTIC mexican food staffed by a Mexican family.

Wow..... (speechless) So these are the best tacos I've had in Baltimore hands down. I came with a friend for dinner and the place was packed and it made since because the food is delicious. We lucked out and snagged bar seats. Which they do have purse hooks underneath some of the sections of the bar FYI. Huge plus. The atmosphere is super cozy and great for any occasion. I ordered the pineapple wine so delicious... instantly thought I should have been on a beach. The tacos that I ordered were super juicy and no extra flavors needed the meat tasted so good on its own. I ordered 3 tacos, I was surprised by the size of them. Barbacoa, barbacoa de borrego, and carne de res. Every single one was amazing. I will definitely be coming back.

I have had several good visits and one very bad visit here. The food is very good as are the happy hour margarita pitcher specials. The garlic shrimp is delicious and consistent.

My bad experience involved a waitress who claimed it was her second day and more or less ignored us for an hour despite several attempts to get her attention. Even after I physically got up to get her it still took 5 minutes for her to return with our check (we only ordered drinks, we never got a chance to order food) we ended up giving the signed check to someone else who offered to get the manager for us since we were annoyed. We eventually left after waiting over 5 minutes (i was keeping track of time by this point) for the manager who we were then told by a staff member was too busy and couldn't get to us. I haven't been back since this visit.

Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had. Service isn't great, but it's hipster central, so maybe that's part of the scene.

Awful service , I had to walk across the street to have a beer.

Overpriced for average food. Also, they told me they were dog friendly on the phone, but when we got there the waiter was terrified of my 40 pound dog and we had to leave before we finished our dinner or drinks.

Very tasty food for good prices and excellent waiters. Delicious drinks that aren't too sweet and are quite refreshing. Patio space outside for dogs. Would highly recommend for a chill, tasty meal.

This place gets 5 stars for being super vegan friendly and super delicious! They offer vegan crema and vegan cheese. We also had the watermelon lemonade and our waitress suggested salt on the rim. It is seriously the most delicious non-alcoholic drink I've ever had. I love that they have creative options for those of us who don't want to drink alcohol! The servers were all very friendly and helpful, though just a bit overextended. I can't wait to go back!

The best margaritas and salsas around! The only issue I've seen: when very busy the service can be noticeably lacking but the staff is always quick to make it up to you.

I've been here approximately 8,000 times, tried most of the menu and have never had a meal I didn't love. Friendly staff, fantastic margaritas and just really good food.

A little dark and loud inside but that doesn't stop me from going. The food is delicious! The chillaquilles at brunch is my favorite! Great margaritas, try the bloody maria! Great big patio. Nice wait staff.

Great neighbourhood gathering spot that attracts an all ages crowd for lunch and dinner. Dining is indoors in two rooms with adjacent bar, or outside on the patio or under the large tent in warm weather. Friendly servers, casual atmosphere, relaxed vibe, very good food and Margaritas! The Cantina can handle large parties (best to call to reserve) as well as walk-ins. Children are welcome as well are pets, but only on the patio. Portions are reasonably sized and prices are moderately priced. It's the kind of place so affordable you'll be back at least once a week.

Waited 5 minutes for water. Once our server meandered on over I tried to order an appetizer to which he rudely cut me off and said he is coming right back (we just wanted to start something off as we were hungry.) The food was bland, over-priced, and nothing special. Our server was unnattentive and not inviting, or engaging. I spent $50 on guac, empanadas(that were extremely salty and overfried), and an order of 3 soggy tex mex tacos. Just awful. This is my first bad review and I never wanted to be "that" guy. Please save your money. Also I still tipped 20% because I'm not soulless but seriously God damn.

Don't come here looking for authentic Mexican. The portions are big and Americanized. Giving three stars because the quality isn't worth the price.

Affordable drinks, $10 watermelon car crash is great value for money. Bartender is hilarious whenever we go. Good atmosphere and rarely packed!

Good food but expensive! Didn t expect to pay $20 for a burrito for lunch.

The drinks do the trick and the food is delicious. The staff are lovely. I happened to go last Sunday when they had their first Drag Brunch... it was AMAZING!! My friends and I had a great time and I hope they continue hosting LGBTQ events. Either way, I'll be back.

Good margaritas and fajitas...pretty chill place...if you want to hang out with friends and sip on some margaritas...they have huge pitchers and they keep the chips and salsa coming...

Awesome place. I used to come here a lot after work on a Sunday when all the patrons would be service industry workers. Great time!

Came here with some friends following a fantasy football draft and it was a pretty poor service experience. I had asked for a sugar margarita glass which was oddly salty? For the remainder of our meal I watched my friends eat waiting for my tacos. An hour later my tacos arrive with condiments I specifically didn t ask for. I think our server came to check our table three times total, two of which was in the last 10 mins of our service.

Burritos, tacos, and empanadas are fire. If you go for happy hour, then pitchers are cheaper. I recommend the guava or passion fruit.

Passyunk's mainstay Mexican restaurant. Great for outdoor seating when the weather is nice, but can be a bit cramped otherwise. Their food is a bit hit or miss in it's consistency however. I definitely think it's a bit overpriced for what you receive.

Service is typically great, but can get slowed down on busier nights. Their happy hour is pretty decent as well, but I don't understand the hype over their margaritas.

New style Mexican. Wonderful wet burrito and Tres Leche cake! Yum!! Extensive drink menu...not so extensive food menu...but great food! Hard to find parking.

Love going here for tacos and margaritas. I love the bar staff... they never disappoint.

Service on slow side by the waitress. Others seemed to be getting their items quickly. Margarita tasty but weak. Shrimp fajita ok but shrimp could have been cooked a bit more . Nice atmosphere outside..inside loud. Probably won't return

Took 12 minutes for a server to acknowledge we were there. Once we were able to order, it took 16 minutes for our 2 margaritas to come out. To no surprise, it took just 20 seconds to get the check. Not worth the $14 for two subpar margaritas. Plenty of better places around to spend your time and money.

I was so surprised by the INCREDIBLE customer service, I told them I would write this review and dedicate it to their amazing service.

I went to this restaurant last Friday and was not impressed with their food. I ordered a shrimp taco. They charged me $1.00 for cheese. Like seriously cheese is supposed to be in the taco so why did I get charged for cheese? The food to me was nasty it did not taste like an authentic Mexican restaurant food more like generic. Usually I tip my waiter but not this time because I was disappointed in the overall food and service. Last Friday visit is my first and last time visiting

Thank you so much for the myriad of vegan options. The vegan appetizers were delicious. We really appreciated that. The chorizo was amazing. The waitstaff was amazingly friendly. The one concern - that actually doesn t bother me at all but may bother some - they do seem to have a small mouse problem....

A top spot for tasty mexican food. Food was so delish. The service here is great. Bring your hunger - portions are generous. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.
