Love the lamb burritos and the frozen Margherita pitchers
Excellent food with outdoor dinning... great service.
More hipster than authentic, but usually very good nonetheless.
Fine food, great drinks and a receptive atmosphere. Outdoor seating adds appeal.Easily accessible by foot, bike or public transportation.
Best latin food in Philly. One of my favorite brunch spots, try the brunch punch!
It's a little loud but worth the hearing loss for the seitan tacos.
Good margaritas and selection of tequila but the crowd and the ambience are not for me. There are better places to drink, and MUCH better places to get Mexican food within a mile of here.
Great food but 1) South Philly has plenty of more traditional Mexican eateries and 2) the changing table in the men's room is dangerously narrow.
Good food. There is a variety of alcoholic beverages.
Its nice that they have a decent amount of outdoor seating. The food is always good and I love the margarita selection.
The blood orange margarita is one of my favorites and the pescado and green rice is also delicious!
Loved the food and beer selection, also very glad we sat outside because it was very noisy inside.
This place has become one of our all time favorites. Tons of delicious vegetarian options to choose from. Definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the area.
It was a nice bar and it had a good song list in the album player. I did enjoy the drinks and food. Service was pretty good as well.
FAVORITE!!!
Friendly, efficient servers. Wonderful guacamole and fresh chips!
We live in the neighborhood and look forward to taking our guests to Los Caballitos. (We do prefer to eat outside when possible, because we are hearing challenged, and the music inside is too loud for conversation for us.) Our cheerful hostess tonight was Dee-andra. We got an outside table in 5 minutes. In the meantime we sat down at the bar and Alan quickly whipped us up the exact drinks we requested (we have particular needs in this area), and they were DELICIOUS!!! Service with a smile!!! Elaine was our initial server, and graciously moved us into the shade when our guest started melting due to the sun. ;) Our server Matthew then took over and served us delicious shrimp, slow-cooked goat, and enchiladas de pollo. Our chip bowl and drinks were refreshed without asking. Matthew also gave us a little education about types of tequila. A delightful afternoon for three gray haired folks!
I was craving something sweet to drink and I ordered a mango margarita. When my waitress asked me if I wanted a sugared rim, I knew she understood my cravings. The margarita(s) were perfect, and the food is consistently great. Fun atmosphere, a great casual place to bring friends.
Delicious margaritas (ask for El Caliente; it's not on the menu anymore!), gargantuan burritos, and the best plantains this side of the Rio Grande.
Their cocktails are great! And the staff is really nice. 5/5
I love the pork carnita burrito with jalapeno, cheese and no beans. The outdoor dining area is nice. Staff is usually pretty cool.
My favorite place for Mexican food in the state of PA.
One of my fav places. Good food, good drinks and great atmosphere.
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila......let's get nachos
This place is awesome! I've been there multiple times and it is always consistently great. Don't spend too much time looking at the menu, the best way to go is:
Chicken Tacos
Classic House Margarita
Eat and sip on those and you'll enjoy your time there!
Cantina serves OK food, has terrible service, but makes amazing margaritas.
I've been there quite a few times and it normally takes two hours to get your food from the time you walk in the restaurant. I'm not kidding about the horrible service.
I had a nice little pop in there round 3pm today. Food was as expected but the tall bartender In the real tree hat was the pleasure on this occasion. Good banter without being abrasive. Ps they do brunch every day and Excellent bloodys! He educated me briefly on tequila and made excellent suggestions. 4/5 stars from me is excellent so relax...
Fun, hip Mexican restaurant with authentic Mexican food. Get the goat burrito.
If I can give this place less stars I would. Service is beyond horrible and they weren t even that busy! I can t imagine what that they would be like if they were to be busy. Asked the bartender for water 4 times before he finally gave it to me his answer kept being in a minute, or yah when I m done (as he s sitting there sipping his drink.) 1st & last time I ll ever go there. The bartender definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for this place!
The food here is very good, and it's got a great atmosphere. That said, it loses a star for being a little overpriced and I often feel ignored by the servers, like I have to chase them down to get my check.
Still good food and reasonable prices... Always a bit crowded, but drinks and food come out quickly.
Enjoyed a nice evening on the spacious patio. The steak fajitas were great and enough for us to share. Service was great attentive without being overbearing
Fajitas were unreal and the top shelf margaritas are some of the best in town
Didn't enjoy... Drinks weren't good and the food could have been better there was no music just an overall bland experience.
Tasty food with good portions, very good bloody Mary and nice service. Next time will try the margaritas.
Delicious happy hour. We got every item on the happy hour menu and it was delicious. The drink choice of the bartender was refreshing especially in a hot summer day. Really recommend the Sichuan cucumbers.
$67 for a pitcher of margarita's and nachos!!!! on top of the poor service where they hardly check up on you, we asked for a pitcher of margarita's, which we got the passion fruit flavor...WHICH THE ADD $9 to an already $30 drink thats already over priced. we got a plate of nachos and added guac and steak to. I get that the steak and guac would be extra, BUT $28 FOR AN APPETIZER?? That's flat out ridiculous, The food menu is in a weird font and the words are close together, so this is where we were misled on the price, which the waitress didn't inform us on the additional charges, like most places do anyway. I used to really like this place, but now i can say, i will not be returning, and maybe i'll even save more money if i went to a Stephen Starr restaurant.
We go here for brunch and margaritas. When you are seated they bring free chips and salsa, two different salsas. The eggs Benedict is my favorite item on the brunch menu.
Great food and prices. One of my favorite restaurants on easy passyunk
Love the margarita pitchers. Laid back with nice outdoor seating.
Decent appetizers and dishes, but the alcohol here is highly priced
Cucumber margs and plantains on point! Service is always lacking so know you'll be there for a bit.
Worse taco ever... definitely wasn't expecting that.
Skip it unless you're sitting outside on a nice day. Its loud and ugly inside and there's much better Mexican food 2 blocks in any direction.
Terrible experience. Bar tenders were rude. Seemed like they were annoyed we were there. I will spend my money elsewhere.
Love the enchiladas. My niece and coco the cucumber margaritas.
Food is great and hits the spot in authenticity beer selection is ok but tequila selection is far better.
The food is very tasty and I really like that place
Tequila flights are especially good, but no Jose Cuervo
The frozen margarita pitchers are great for more than 3 people to share and the food is so good. Love the Caesar salad and quesadilla.
It's good at what it does. Nice vegetarian options.
I love it here. The food is great, the margaritas are A1 and the staff is cool
Great brunch and I love that you can bring your dog to brunch with you!
Great food! A little pricey, but delicious. Also their happy hour margarita special Monday-Friday is awesome!
Went here for a Sunday brunch, and I was very pleased with the food. The eggs Benedict was delicious, the pineapple margaritas were fantastic, SC bf the guac was yummy.
Mexican food, my favorite treat. the bill was appropriate for the quality.
One of my favorite spots. Great food and atmosphere.
Best Mexican place. Great food. Little expensive but worth it
We went on a Thursday night and being that it was the first gorgeous day in awhile, they were packed. We were told it'd be a 40min wait so we grabbed a spot at the bar, ordered a couple blood orange margaritas (DELICIOUS!) and enjoyed the 90s alt rock they were playing. We ended up being seated outside within 10 minutes! Everything we ordered was perfect and came at a good pace. We'll definitely be back!
Great place for drinks with a nice terrace to enjoy the good weather but the food was just OK. Avoid the shrimp ceviche, that was way too weird and not in a good way.
best margaritas ever. i only drink them by the pitcher. good food. outside seating on a nice day? classic.
Love this Mexican restaurant. It has some of the best Mex in the City. Burritos are awesome and the authentic pork tacos in corn tortilla are amazing!
Slow service, very small portions, and the food was sub par at best!
Great drinks, nice setting .. good food .. good people . A great place to visit on the regular.
The margaritas are good and it is a good place to meet up with friends. The pitside seating is a bonus. The food is edible but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. Service varies. Some of the waiters are great. Some spend more time talking to the other servers than actually helping the customers.
The service was kind of aloof, and the food was only okay. This place has what I like to call "warehouse seating" which is those little tables that you can pull apart or push together depending on the size of the party but makes it super hard to not bump into the strangers next to you. For the price of the food for the quality, I probably won't be coming back.
