Hadn't been there in a while and dropped in before the dinner rush tonight. STEAK NACHOS is the way to go! Three of us loved them so much we ordered another plate of them! Chicken Quesadillas was awesome and the Frozen Pumpkin as well as the Frozen Spiced Pear Margaritas were to DIE for. The pitcher of Margaritas were $34.00 each!!!! $2.00 to make it frozen and $7.00 for the flavor.... That was a rip off! Other than that.... loved it!!!!!

Get ready for a slow but delicious experience at Cantina. The margaritas are fantastic and I have yet to have been disappointed by any of their food. The waiters and waitresses are very friendly. If you're around during the warmer weather the outdoor seating is delightful.

I've been here three times, but because of unpleasant service experiences, I'm going to avoid coming here again this summer. I'd recommend going elsewhere unless you really want the nice outdoor seating.

Their margaritas are just ok. The food is tasty. I liked their chorizo burrito.

The service is hit or miss... two waiters I've seen were friendly and attentive. Two others were, quite frankly, rude. During both of my visits I had great interactions with wait staff and unpleasant interactions with wait staff. My first visit was during a very busy time, so I attributed the rudeness and inattentiveness to happy hour craziness. However, my second visit was not a very busy time...

The outdoor seating is very nice, weather-permitting.

I'd recommend looking someplace else if you're looking for good customer service. Maybe I'll try this place again next year and see if the new wait staff is better...

All I have to say is YUM

All I have to say is YUM
Great Mexican joint, good pricing and delicious food
Since it was my first visit while when friends in S. Philly I went with a traditional wet burrito with carnitas -- very flavorful, the meat was cooked nicely and it didn't have tons of filler which was nice
They also have some really creative brunch items too like an Indian samosa burrito that my friend got and they raved about
You won't be disappointed!

Really enjoyed this. I went straight for the tacos (most economical for those balking at price). Salsas really authentic (like my host family in Mexico, asked for more and they let me take the leftovers home). Done more authentically with two corn tortillas with each taco. Size of tacos were more than expected so had ordered a veg side and ended up taking the side and one taco home(plus salsa!). Hubby had the special taco and we swapped one, quite good. Was great that got seated right away at 7:30 on a Saturday night (on a cold night in February mind you though). My taco did need the chips salsa a little (carnitas) and could have used a little more veggie crunch though side radishes appreciated (really only half star off if could). Only wish they had al pastor (my favorite). Quick service. Tasty cucumber virgin margarita (get with salt rim!!). They should consider a cheaper rice/bean side combo ($5) but in truth i did not need the extra filler. Thanks!

I used to frequent this place a lot, but the quality of service, food, and drink has declined greatly over the years.

The margaritas used to be something to write home about, but now they pull a gallon plastic jug of what looks like government issued margarita base out from under the bar and stir in a flavor with the handle of a spoon, right on front of you. Yum :/

Some of the wait staff seem annoyed to serve you but that's definitely not all of them. Bartenders are usually decent if not overworked.

They seem to have gotten too popular to pay attention to the details anymore. They're always packed because of their prime location and reputation, but seem uninterested in maintaining what got them they're popularity.

Margaritas are a true staple here. I suggest cucumber or peach on the rocks. On top of drinks the food is phenomenal steak tacos are the perfect meal or just munching on the free chips and salsa will suffice.

Bland, bland food. Shocked at the star rating. I was very displeased with my wet burrito.

When I told my server it was my first time there, he didn't tell me anything about the menu or suggest anything.

My shrimp ceviche was horrid! I have had delicious ceviche a number of times, from a number of places. What they call ceviche is NOT ceviche.

Would never return or recommend. I would go to Loco Pez before I return there, same corny, "un-ethnic" vibe, but better food.

Great vegan options and a cool happy hour but be weary. I give this place a 4 star because their happy hour drinks are made very weak and I have occasionally had a not so nice server. All other experiences are pretty good though. Chill vibes and a fun place to bring friends.

The food and drink after always great, but it can get very crowded, and service can sometimes be lacking. Still, most days, it's worth stopping in for a margarita or El Numero Siete, and the quesadilla with smoked corn crema is always fantastic.

Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the food quality as our server never came. We were seated in a corner and never waited on. After ten minutes we left with an obnoxious "thanks for coming" by the hostess who sat us.

They only had six/seven small tables at the time.....

Fortunately, there are a lot of great restaurants within walking distance.

Awesome margaritas. I come regularly and I m never disappointed. The bloody Mary is great too, one of the best in town. Nice price great service. The lamb and veggie burrito and mushroom quesadillas are excellent. As almost all the rest of the menu.

Always a great spot for brunch. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, which is appreciated. Had a pitcher of watermelon margaritas, which was delicious. Lots of different fresh seasonal flavors to choose from.

Steak tacos were burnt, the dip had to much lime in it, food was cold, took forever to get the drinks then when we finally got them one was was watered dwn and the other was way to strong. It was hard to get the waiter to come to the table and then they charge you for cheese thats supposed to be in a taco and sour cream. The manager was supposed to take the drink and the tacos off the bill and that was a process to get done. We tried this place and will never be back.

I am completely utterly disgusted and insulted by Cantina. Where to begin? The server's are pretentious, rude, and talk down to you. The food was barely cooked, even though it took 45 minutes for them to make a simple burrito. The waitress only checked on us once. After asking for a drink, she smirked condescendingly because I wanted a simple house red. The check came 20 minutes too late. In all, a simple order of two burritos, a house red wine, and a DOS Equis took 1 hour and 45 minutes. We didn't even have enough time to tell our waitress there was a curly black hair in the tortilla chips (use your imagination on where THAT came from!). In all, this was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my entire life.

Nachos we're great, pancakes we're great, didn't mind the 80 for for 4 drinks either, but the buritto that I got to go had no chicken, no beans, just plain white rice, so eat there don't take anything to go

This would be a great spot to meet up with friends. Walking up I noticed how many people were joyously enjoying the food at atmosphere of the place. I opted to sit inside because it was chilly for me during my afternoon visit. There were fresh tortilla chips and two types of salsa brought out after my water; free and delicious. Both salsas were bang in'! I love that they have a nice variety of vegan options on the menu! I ordered the vegan(seitan) wings; I did the sampler, so I could try all three flavors offered, habanero buffalo, tamarind barbecue, and ponzu mojo. All of the flavors were on point! I couldn't really pick a favorite of the 3 because I loved each. I believe there were 3 of each, so 9 total. I say "I believe" because I had 2 mango frozen margaritas which had me a bit lit and smiley lol. The service was great even though it was quite busy; my waitress understood my hand signals for another margarita and check please lol, you go girl! 6 out of 5 stars to this spot!

I absolutely love the wet goat burrito! The chocolate mole sauce is sweet and delicious as well. My wife had the shrimp burrito and it was tasty. Make sure you add the guacamole, it really makes a big difference. The corn is kind of Hit and Miss, but when it's a hit, it is absolutely delicious!

Update, 12/14/2019:
The service was thoughtful and terrific.I had the tampiqueno and it was delicious!

Service was a little slow and the flavored margarita pitchers were a little over priced. However, the food was so good. Got the steak quesadilla and it was one of the best I've ever had. Would go back... just would get the plain margarita! Hah!
