Camino real was a real clean. Staff were professional. Like the veiw from my window was great
I would highly recommended another hotel. I had gotten two rooms to get ready for my wedding day. They wanted to charge an additional fee if I got photographed at the hotel. They also charged for parking. I am not very pleased with their customer service or their communication amongst management and employees. I would give a negative star if possible.
Freshly renovated, Paso Del Norte is incredible. The rooms are beautiful with brand new fixtures, sheets, towels, and nice TVs. The staff is helpful and sincere. They offer champagne on check-in, and someone is always willing to take your bags or groceries to your room for you.
The hotel is an awesome El Paso historic landmark. It is kept up and in excellent condition. The service at the bar was superior. The pie I are was amazing .
I think this hotel should be downgraded from 4 stars to at least 2-3 stars. The garage was filled with empty beer cans and the walls/floor were clearly marked with multiple months worth of urine. Clearly, the place invites the party hardy crowd as there was a drunk couple making out heavily in the parking lot. I got a feeling that the parking lot was used by both guests and people who'd go to the local clubs but there was zero security there nor a seeming interest to clean the place up.
I was actually praying the next morning that my car hadn't been broken into. Fortunately, it wasn't.
The guest services guy was nice. He checked me in very politely so that was good.
My room looked like a plain ole 2 star hotel, like a cheap best western or worse. The curtains were stuck, the A/C unit was from the 80s, the TV system was clearly very old, bathrooms old, etc. This place needs a good remodeling to earn the 4 stars it boasts online.
Checkout was okay except for them not being able to print my receipt. I was told I would get it by email but I never did. I guess I need to check my credit card statements as they may have not refunded my deposit.
I didn't bother staying for their paid breakfast because of the negative impressions I've had so far.
Once I left, I thought I woukd have to pay a $6 parking fee but there was no one at the gate. So I guess that was cool but at the same time, it confirmed why the parking was so grim.
I think the hotel is in a good area downtown but it could use a good remodeling.
Upon arrival there were about 8 people in front of me in line to check in. I thought it was taking a little longer than usual to be seen. After getting to the front of the line to check in I was told the rooms were not ready yet (3:30 PM). I am a pretty reasonable guy so I thought nothing of it. I was told to hang out for a few minutes until things were ready. I was then greeted by one of the managers with an apology letter saying they over booked themselves, and I could not stay with them. Still I think, no biggie, they will hook me up with a near by hotel downtown knowing that I was here for a conference at the convention center across the street. I plugged the new hotel into google maps to find it was 6 miles away after being told I could still walk to conference center...yea right. I booked the Camino Real MONTHS in advance only to be turned away the day of with no warning. YIKES!
Food had normal savor. The place felt very old and it is not a good thing.
Room was well made and there were no disturbances from other guests. Only issue with room was a broken faucet.
Nice hotel but worst valet parking ive seen. I was there for a ball, and in the middle of it i got called for parking it wrong and it was supossed to be blocking the way in the parking lot. To which in the first place i didnt park because the valet did. And when i went to the valet who have supposed to fix the problem looked at me like im the one wrong and they want me to fix the parking. The whole thing hot me mad that I decided to just leave, and when i got the truck back, found out the valet guy farted inside my truck and came back saying "the trucks exhaust is not a loud as he was hoping"...well... sir...your job is not to play with people cars and very unproffesional to unleash your stank gas before giving my truck back.
The room was clean and cozy. There were no light near tub and it was dark
Out dated rooms first 2 rooms didn't have working bathrooms and the third had wet carpet food in hotel restaurant was very expensive $3 for coffee half hotel was closed off due to damage from storm in October!?
I was driving in from California to Mississippi and stayed here for about 8 hours the area is very cute I have never been to Texas before it seemed like they had a lot of events in this area this building looks like it would be a great place to stay for an event the pricing was ok the food we ordered through room service was ok I have had better food
The Camino real hotel is an excellent hotel with its Spanish inspired design , amazing service , and great food. I will be coming back soon!
very good service, and a nice place to rest or business meetings
Never really been in the rooms but asked to go to to the rest room and they rudely said. "It's only for customers
Hotel was lovely and great for our military ball. However theit catered food was bland, cold and tough.
The service was great. I did enjoy the night there but I did find the rooms a little bit small
My parents came to this hotel march 2017 he called to verify if there was any rooms available she said there was so when they arrived they looked at my parents as if they were some peasants as if they cant even afford a single night in this hotel this ridiculous no body should ever get treated like, this is a discrimination if i could i would put NO STARS but this wasnt an option.
I went to a company party there. The place is pretty but a little disappointing. It smelled kind of musky and the carpet is not flat in a lot of places, lots of trip hazards. I wonder what the rooms look like
It has taken a month for hotel to deal with refund. No one wants to help they keep passing issue amongst each others departments and still month later and no refund. BBB here we come.
Clean. Comfortable. Convenient to the airport. Great breakfast.
Very pretty hotel in downtown El Paso. Nicely decorated and friendly staff
Awesome place to Stay an food is Fabulous also the Autographed Section is perfect a place to stay an visit take on the Experiences of everything we have to offer!!
This hotel is closed until mid 2020. Marriott corporate though doesn't seem to understand this.
Hotel is very haunted very scary and eerie feeling seeing lots of evil spirits it was frightening
The Camino Real was very nice hotel with professional staff. The drinks are very pricy but thats expected. I was there attending a function and did not know where it was located at and had to ask. Maybe signs would help people a little more.
Excellent place, nice, subway like places of time and the center
The Camino Real makes a person feel like dressing up,and as if they lived in the elegant time. After arriving on the Amtrak train(which in it's self is class act)you feel there is no other parts of the city you need to see or any other places to be.I like the view from the 16th floor at night.Iam the type of man that thinks every day's a holiday and every meal's a banquet so there will be no nambie bambie, nit picking from me.the place is 100 years young and still has a dance or two left in her,I be to thinking. If you like your arraingments top drawer without losing sight of a period in time when people came to El Paso to experience the rough and tumble west and not sleep in the sand.enconsed in elegance I was happy to pay the dignfied gentry, of a bygone era that went the way of the buffalo and when men were men and women were happier for it.
It's an amazing and historic hotel with tons of potential, but it's not managed well. It's pricier than it should be and the rooms are in serious need of upgrades. However, that being said, the view is amazing, the hotel is beautiful and the Dome Bar is one of a kind.
Excellent place, very well taken care of and good attention.
We had great customer service, rooms were very clean , enjoyed the live bands at the bar, highly recommended it to my family and friends
It was a very nice experience. The staff was friendly and very willing to answer any question that we might have had. The only problem, it may seem like a small problem, but because I had paid so much for just one night, I had asked for a king size bed when I was booking the room through the hotels website. When we got up to the room there was a full instead of the king. We had gone for my birthday night and I was really looking forward to the king sized bed. I had clicked on the option for it an everything. I don't care of it may seem like a superficial thing, but that's what I had wanted, and that's what I was expecting.
The mushroom tacos are amazing!! I m vegetarian, and they re one of the best I ve ever had.
The dome bar is a beautiful place. The staff is very friendly. Drinks are a little pricey, but are made well. This is the kind of place you want to go to for a relaxed night out.
The Camino real is a beautiful and historic part of El paso, and I would highly recommend staying a weekend here at least once. It's can't miss
Location is in the Arts District downtown. Staff has been friendly and helpful. My room is clean and a good size.
The food was very good and the price was also very good
It depends on the room you get assigned to: some are recently restyled and very comfortable, while other rooms feel old and neglected.
stayed at this hotel on Friday night, was charged for two nights $224 instead of for just the 1 night stay, so i call the front desk and ask to speak to the credit manager to see about getting a refund or credit for the extra night. All I got was the worst customer service ever! not only was she rude and impolite her tone of voice was very aggressive. and then she goes on to say maybe its your bank and i respond i doubt it , then she goes on to ask me "what bank do u have and i reply GECU" and she goes on to say "no wonder" never coming back again.
Friendly service, clean rooms, great walking distance to events downtown.
They are very friendly but I already need a renovation even though the hotel is very nice.
Good service, always attentive, spacious rooms, good locality and very good food.
The rooms are lovely and the view of downtown el paso and Juarez are great!
Closed! Under construction, but no mention on website or on city's sites for things to do.
Well the hotel is old. The toilet seats are super old and disgusting. My seat was chipped and peeled. Completely gross
Nice room. Well accommodated. Couldve used a fridge in the room but other than that, no other complaints
Only thing good about this hotel, was the breakfast. Staff and management were unfriendly and rude. They didn't try to go out of their way to help, at all. Needless to say, I'm not a happy customer. If this would let me rate it 0, I would.
Good place to have an event the staff is very profesional and love the inside decor blends old with the new.
I loved my stay here! The staff was super friendly, the room very clean, and the decor and fixtures were gorgeous! It's centrally located to walk around downtown El Paso.
As you might have guessed from the other reviews, this is an older hotel which hasn't been renovated in a while. That said, it's beautiful, spacious, and the service is terrific. The parking was reasonable, and it's a great downtown location. We were a little stunned at how much room we got for our money.
Dining option was not spectacular. Below average food quality and above average price.
One server who ran the kitchen, bar, and also served.
