Bad reception, the guy name Roman is so mean. I came from a long trip driving 15 hours want to rest with the kids and we waited 45 mins at the reception for no reason. I do not recommend it, if there is a zero star I would give.

The lobby area was very welcoming however the rooms needed to be cleaner. It looked like they did the bare minimum to clean the rooms because there was a lot of dust in places. Beware, there were only two areas with power outlets and both are very inconveniently placed. Bathrooms need to be upgraded

I made a reservation with this hotel as I was having surgery in El Paso. My surgeon called and moved the surgery date. I called to move the reservation to another date and they would not move it and would not offer a refund. I have called the assistant manager 6 times and she will never return my calls... I booked the reservation with an orbital booking agency,, You know the one that ends in a z,,,, Will never book with them again either....

Staff was wonderful! Friendly and helpful. Stylish, new hotel. Rooms were quiet and comfortable. We ate at the Mexican restaurant on site and had a great meal. They've got a nice bar too with TVs for sports watching. Thanks to our server Dylan! Will definitely stay again next time in El Paso.

the history

the history

Rumor has it that the Camino Real is a haunted hotel. A ghostly woman is said to wander the halls wearing a white gown and a melancholy expression.

Remember the news story about the Canadian tourist in Los Angeles ,CA ? She had visited a hotel , went crazy and drowned herself inside the water tower on the roof?

Maybe one day it will be a rumor.

I spent $200 for one night, should stayed at a motel 6 for about $40. It too for ever to check in. No parking. I had to park in a dingy garage a cross the street. The room was freezing, it took about 3 hours to get to a tolerable temperature. Room service was unavailable.

I will not make the mistake of going to this place ever again.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at the Camino many ...

My boyfriend and I have stayed at the Camino many times in the last year, when we are looking for a weekend getaway without having to leave town. Last night, we stayed there for his birthday, and this is the first extremely poor stay we've had. And I mean POOR. The man at the front desk was nice, and when I told him that it was my boyfriend's birthday, he upgraded our room to a deluxe suite free of charge. However, when we got to the room it was trashed. It looked like a natural disaster had taken place in the suite. Mind you, this was long after house keeping should've come to clean (check in was at three). I instantly called the front desk, and they put us in a different room but wouldn't give us another suite. We went out to dinner and to celebrate, and came back to shower, and the water was freezing, while the dial was turned to the hottest temperature it could reach. And that is a problem we've had before. We were also charged for parking, which has never happened before. I have stayed in hotels in a lot poorer conditions, however it was slightly disappointing considering the stature of the hotel.

Not really happy with this place. Price was high, no breakfast, WiFi is horrible and spotty, the inside restaurant is atrocious, the appliances in the room are from the 90s, my shower only sprayed one stream of water so it was like my skin was being lasered off, and the bar was waaaaay over priced. I would take a holiday inn over this place in a heart beat. On the bright side the dome in the bar was pretty cool, that earned them a star, well it did until I brought food back to the hotel, realized I had no microwave or fridge and had to throw it out. Also the staff at the bar, front desk, and restaurant couldn't break a twenty so I could get some freaking cookies from the vending machine. All three registers were "out of change." I could see that for a hundred, but a twenty? Ridiculous. Not only that but I sensed some racism from the clerks here, they don't like white people. Horrible establishment, the owner should be ashamed.

I booked 3 months prior ,and when we got the hotel they couldn't find our reservation, the tv wasnt working and the restroom looked a little dirty as well, and the main thing i didnt like was that they went and knocked on our door 30 min prior to our check out time and opened it before we had a chance to get to it! And i know we werent the only ones, we saw the lady knocking and opening doors before the guests could open them!

Upside it's a historic hotel with great architectural features, vintage furnishings, and large room suites. Downside it needs a deep cleaning to get rid of the musty smell. It could use a overall update.

The hotel itself, and the view from the 17th floor, are stunning. The room is beautiful, if outdated. No light in the shower area, but the bathroom is ginormous. Restaurant downstairs has excellent staff and a customizable menu. They also have my favorite Mexican beer. Can't wait to come back with my family!

The hotel needs extensive interior of room and lobby renovations. It was beautiful when owned by Hilton hotels. Under El Camino ownership it has lost it's appeal. Still a beautiful historical structure from the exterior.

It is old, dirty and stinky. The bathroom wall and ceiling paint was peeling off. Big soggy stain on the carpet. Lesson learned, don't judge a book by its cover. Very disappointed. The price does Not reflect the state of this place. Definitely felt UNWELCOME here.

The bartenders took it upon themselves to tip themselves extra than what was originally tipped. I called the management twice. Their response was to have someone else call me back. Needless to say, that didn't happen.

Accommodations were great, but the staff had trouble getting us into a room that was prepared for guests. One of our room keys led us into a room that had no sink! However, they comped us drinks that night, and breakfast. They also gave us an additional room for free for our party. While I was dissatisfied with this experience, I am willing to try staying there again.

The La Huerta Restaurant has a really good buffet, regardless of the price, which is pretty good, by the way. The ambience is a welocomr respite from meetings, the wait staff is attentive, and the desserts are excellent!

I stayed one night here to finish up my grad school paper. This hotel blew me away. I ve been in hotels all over the world and I can say this one could compete with any. It was so clean and quiet, but also very warm and welcoming. The views are wonderful. I was upgraded to a King deluxe corner room and everything was lovely. I had room service for wine/dessert and breakfast - be sure to try the pistachio torte and their incredible mimosas. I loved it so much I ve booked another night there for this weekend.

Beautiful hotel.

Beautiful hotel.

The rooms, admittedly, fall well short of the lobby decor, but the views and location more than make up for that.

I can't rave enough about how hospitable the staff was. Will stay here anytime I'm in El Paso.
