Great place to visit and take your children to. So much to see and do. Kids can touch and play and learn all in one place. Plus it's free for some areas so that's a plus. Great place to visit even for adults.

Admittedly, I came a little later in the day so I couldn't see everything there was to see inside yet regardless of that fact, it was very fun for everyone who came with which included a grandma and kiddo. There were rides and interactive exhibits which were all easy to access/find. The rides do cost money though.

The gift shop is neat and there's also some food available on the first floor. Definitely recommend the second floor (for space-related exhibits)!

I hope to be back soon so maybe I'll edit this afterwards.

Pay for parking but the museum is free. There is a lot of stuff to see. They do have a couple of special, temporary exhibits and an imax you pay for. If you are on a budget though, there is plenty to see without paying extra.

Love bringing my kids here, I began coming when they were babies 12 and 18 years later we still love coming here, we just found out about the aquarium which blew my main. It was such a surprise discover something new. And across the street you have the roses garden and the museum so much to do and see. Awesome place.

This museum is huge. You need more than one day to do everything with the family. We saw the Kind Tut exhibit with the IMAX Egypt film and the space shuttle Endeavour. The child went through it quickly, but there was enough pretty objects to keep them entertained. This is a must see museum for SoCal.

Very disappointed in King Tut exhibit. Not one staff member had any knowledge of the exhibits. The pieces shown were less than exciting. Very disappointed in the very costly day.

Most of the areas have to be updated as most of the screens were not working. The science center needs to include more interactive science activities in the science centre. I only went because I had a Go LA card and could go in for free.

I used to love going here when I was a kid, and I loved my visit with a group of international college students recently. We enjoyed the hands on exhibits, especially the special exhibit, the space shuttle, and the IMAX movie. I saw lots of children having a great time too, so this is still a great place for families or just adults like my group! It's also nice that it's close to the metro, so we could take the train and not have to fight traffic.

Meh... I guess I've been ruined by growing up in Chicago but this museum is 99% geared to purely children's content. It is so dumbed down it wasn't very fun or educational for anyone over the age of 8.

I give it 3 stars because of the ocean exhibit, touch tank, and being able to learn about the Space Shuttle Endeavour. The Endeavour exhibit was not dumbed down, not geared completely to young children, and the small army of guides were extremely knowledgeable and their excitement for the topic was infections!

I will never understand why museums like this decided to gear their exhibits to the level of slow children.

Spend the money and go to the Natural History Museum... From what I'm seeing online, it's not specifically geared to only entertain children or adults with IQ's under 60.

Couldn t see the space shuttle exhibits without paying.

Despite their website clearly stating it was free to see from 1 PM to 5 PM on weekdays.

Attendant stated they hadn t updated the website. LAME!!!

It should be free anyway since the rest of the museum is and USA federal tax dollars paid for the shuttle!

Zero stars if I could!!!

An awesome place with amazing exhibits! A lot of the exhibits are free so everyone can explore different subjects and find interesting topics in school! The center has many exhibits one can learn about and many one can pay for as well!

I recently went to the pixar exhibit and had an amazing time! The exhibit was very interactive and very informative!

Have been to visit several times over many years. All the visiting exhibits we have seen have been educational and fun.
We have also enjoyed the many 'stationary', although ever changing, displays / exhibits. Exhibits on transportation, architecture, biology, weather, and much more.
It is wonderful to watch children enjoy learning new things, especially all the 'hands-on' displays.
We have had quick meals from the snack bar, sitting outside at the picnic benches at the 'rear' of the center, then walked through the Rose Garden that separates the museums.
If you have never experienced the enjoyment of a 3D IMAX movie, you have been missing something special. Cannot even tell you how many we have seen at this location. There are usually a choice of 3-4 are showing at any given time.
Speaking of IMAX at The Science Center, there is always a movie that matches the visiting exhibit, such as 'Body Worlds' , with the movie on Plastination, the King Tut exhibit and movie, and most recently the movie 'Superpower Dogs', along with 'Dogs, A Science Tail' exhibit.
Although the basic museum is free admission, the combo price to see a visiting exhibit and an IMAX movie is always reasonable. They have timed tickets so when purchasing on-line, it does not allow you to purchase tickets in which the movie time, and time needed to visit the exhibit would conflict.

Besides these exhibits, the Science Center is home to the Space Shuttle Endeavor. That exhibit alone is a wealth of history of the Shuttles from inception to conclusion of the program , a huge education shown in photos and descriptions all around the walls of the building specifically built to house the Endeavor. Have been through that exhibit twice already.

The are additional aircraft inside & outside the building, virtual rides, a hurricane booth, plus multiple photo opportunities....or as my generation called them...'Kodak Moments'.
Took my first niece a few times over the years to the Center, she is now 25 studying to be a nurse. More currently, I have taken the latest set, twins-boy/girl, nephew/niece, twice already. They are almost 12.
The store inside the museum has items, books, cards, toys....you have never heard of, along with souvenirs of the current visiting exhibit; many of these items make great gift ideas !
Everyone will enjoy the many opportunities to learn from & share...both the free or visiting exhibits... all open up lots of conversation topics, too. There is even a free 'earthquake' experience.
Parking is $12, cash only. Costs of rides / experiences, such as the hurricane booth are reasonable, $3 and up to about $8.
There is a lower level 'garden' at the front area of the Center, too. My husband & I had a pic-nic down there once.
You will not be disappointed.

The California Science Center a a great place for kids to learn about Ecosystems, Creative World, Air and Space, World of Life including special exhibits and the experience about the space shuttle operation and historic achievements, the reason they lost one star is because this place needs to be upgraded to todays technology and the cleanliness of the center is horrible bathrooms were dirty and the place where kids play is not properly sanitized.

This is only a review for the King Tut exhibit since this was basically all we came for, we did decide that we need to return to check out the museum as a whole and possibly check out their other exhibits/attractions. Just an FYI if you come on a Saturday like we did lol, double check the schedule for USC games. I mean I didn't think it was going to be too bad, but I should have known better, several roads were blocked off. So it did take us awhile to get to parking lot which is $12.

I believe their only going to have this here for a couple of more months so if you haven't been come see it before its gone. I think its worth it. They had many artifacts to look at. This was separated by two floors. You start in the 3rd floor where everything is at you can spend up to an hour here just looking and reading everything here, depending on how packed it is. Once you leave you can't go back in though. Part two is in the 1st floor, there you learn more about Howard Carter and the process of how he found Tutankhamum's tomb.

California Science Center is a most attractive place for the science lovers . It describes the scientific basis of many phenomenon. Would like to recommend for such age children who are curious about the happening around us. The parents can explain each using descriptions or get the help from the instructors.
There are few food outlets to buy refreshments.
There is a planetarium inside with shows.

Very fun for the entire family all age groups free to get in some exhibit's and extra attractions you pay for. Opens at 10am food court and outside sitting area available as well, two souvenir shops onsite one when you walk in and one in the Endeavor location. My 2nd time here. You will love it.
