Went with my son's school it is a great place to take kids of all ages because they have something for everyone.
I came here to see the space shuttle. It happened to be during a football game and not being local I didnt realize that was a mistake. The Uber could not drop us off anywhere near the museum. We walked for 20+ minutes to get to it and at one point I got on the back of a Bird scooter with my friend and promptly got flung into the wind. Many people laughed. By the time we made it to the museum I was covered in blood and we were 40 minutes past our reservation time to see the shuttle. That wasn't a problem though, they still let us in no issues. The shuttle simulator was very lame and took too long but little kids would like it. I was able to actually look at the shuttle and take pics for approximately 4 minutes before we had to try to get to our next reservation, a doors off helicopter ride in Fullerton. It took almost 2 hours just to get an uber out of there and we missed our helicopter ride by quite a while. Luckily, the pilot took us up anyway, mostly because I was still bleeding from my fall and it was obviously an ordeal to get to him. Overall, 10/10 would do again.
So much stuff to discover here for younger and adults. Also it s very affordable and you can spend here the whole day. So many different worlds and topics; also they have a food court. Fantastic spot for families.
The California Science center is an amazing learning space. Therebis so much to see and do that you can spend half a day there. I visites the Tutankhamon exhibit and it was incredible.
I went with the school field trip and let me tell you maybe the workers there just had enough of kids who knows but they were rude, bitter youngest angry employees I have ever seen in my life hahahahaha and they even followed groups of the elementary school kids yelling at them to not run and or don t touch or bounce a tiny rubber ball it was entertaining for me to see kids drive these young employees nuts. Kids will be kids and yes they do need supervision but employees need to just chill out a bit because it is designed for kids to be interactive. Even the two employees giving out glasses to the 3D show were angry and the kids were good standing in line lol maybe they should find other jobs working less with the public.
Had a lot of fun in each area I visit. But in the room I think was the discovery room, where my granddaughter played in sandy water. Was fun but I wished they kept the floors up. It was to wet and slippy when we enter/exit.
There's lots of different exhibits and many gift shops with different themes and the food there is good
The space shuttle Endeavor is so much bigger in person! It's really awesome to see it up close in person. The whole exhibit is very nice.
The science center was so cool, especially the earthquake simulation.
Lots of interactive demonstrations and of course a shuttle. Very decent science museum.
Free museum with lots of great interactive exhibits. Very close to the Metro.
I was disappointed when I walked inside. I could see why the price was free. Dont believe the advertisements because they make the place look better than it is. If youre an adult who wants to see a few museums you will see this is obviously for kids. Lots of interacting things but nothing really to look at. I would suggest that you go next door to the history museum.
A wonderful place to explore for kids and adults alike! Free admission, but the extra exhibits are a little more. Very possible to do without the extra. We went as a group of various ages and everybody had a good time. Kids especially loved being able to pet the sea critters and look at the ocean life through the glass. Parking is $12 FYI.
I always love coming here
I miss when the DASH Southeast would go around the whole block it would drop us off closer than it does now but still not bad at Figueroa/39th
So much fun to see the aquarium portion and the space shuttle. Their plans to expand the center for the shuttle look great. So go out there see everything and be sure to donate.
Has gone down. It seemed like a good amount of the interactive exhibits were not working. Come with money, most of the good exhibits gave a fee. Good selection of food.
Very nice science center. A science center where you need to reserve at least 1 day to go. Learn while kids play.
It is a great experience for kids and adults all together to learn about science
Great free hands on museum. Will be 5 stars when the final Space Shuttle exhibit is complete
This is the Great place for kids!! And Free Learning is better when is fun!
Good for kids 6 and more years, lot of interesting things and interactive activities
It is a museum worth knowing everything is educational many children everything is a lot of science and technology of how things went
This is a must go place for tourists who want to enhance their knowledge as well as educational trip. Endeavour Space shuttle is there. Watch atleast 2 movies in I max...which are about 30 minutes each. There is nice food court at Science center. You can have lunch.
The natural history museum is nearby walking distance of 5 minutes and you should also cover it. I recommend going early by 10 am and watch I max movies first as there will rush during the day.
Nice museum and most of it is free. Seeing endeavor only costs $3, definitely worth it.
Great museum, but to be honest I only come here to see the space shuttle. To be that close to one of our greatest achievements is wonderful! To bad they are going to elevate it to a standing position. I like it being down...you get closer to it than you ever could before!
Perfect place to take your children while school is out. They get the opportunity to learn & play all under one roof & there's no admission fee
Main exhibition area is free of charge but with pretty old contents. Car park is 12$ for a day
Great place to learn. Go early to avoid large groups.
My family and I love it here! There's interactive exhibits & it's fun enough to be educational but not boring for the younger ones. You can pay extra to check out the space center but you can still have a fun time without. Be prepared to walk a lot because this place is HUGE, with each exhibit taking up a good amount of room in the center. There's a food court here too since you can't bring outside food or drinks in but it's either tacos or pizza. Overall, it's a good way to spend a couple of hours if you want to learn something new.
My daughter loves visiting this place. There is always so much to do. Expect to spend a few hours here if you bring small children.
Please, please remove your live animals from the displays - a museum doesn t require living beings. The bird that was confined in a cramped, artificially lit room broke my heart. These poor creatures have no life and there is no need for the cruelty you re inflicting.
I will not visit here again.
I loved it! There was a lot to see. I ate at the little burger and fries place on the right and it was good food for a fair price. The gift shop had loads of stuff and most if it was a great price, not those inflated prices you see normally at gift shops. I didnt go into any of the paid exhibits, but I still had a ton of fun.
Great place for anyone, with kids or without. Great place to go and enjoy learning!
Pretty cool place and free entrance there's some show's that requires ticket but is a good place
This is a great museum with interesting, interactiv exhibits great for all ages.
A really nice museun and science center. Very family/kid oriented. I went as a single person for the King Tut exhibit and IMAX, a nice visit.
Most of the center is free to explore, with the exception of some exhibits. Don't wait for your children to have a field trip to explore this place, take your children via the expo line so you can avoid traffic and the parking fee. I try to take my kids here at least once a month, and they always have a good time coming.
Big crowd. Pay for parking and extra to see shuttle. Still a nice place, nice area.
Great place to spend a quality time with kids and family.
Very cool to take kids. Free entrance. Some attractions are paid for. Very interactive.
It is in serious need of renovation. I know most of it is free, but it is run down.
Amazing place to learn and see endeavour, but the exhibits are old and and some of the staff are very rude. I once saw a worker tell a kid to get out of line just because he was moving around (being a kid).
Great places for kids and adults alike! Free admission and interesting facts about science. Get your kids off the phones and iPad and into a place to broaden their knowledge.
Not worth the trip, all images can be viewed online and still get the same thrill
Fun place for the family! Lots to see and learn about.
Always an amazing experience plus great for getting your daily steps!
You have to pay $2 for a round-trip spaceship, iMAX is also worth seeing and children love
Fun activities and learning opportunities for children and adults. Entry to the science center is free. There are activities you have to pay for once inside.
The Endeavor is awe-inspiring ... particularly as someone who grew up in the late 80's early 90's, went to Space Camp, and continue a lifelong fascination with space travel ...
It was my first time here and I love that nearly everything is interactive and kind safe. My babies had a fantastic time, as did I.
A good 35% of the machines are broken. All the machines that work are uninteresting considering the place is a 1st grader field trip destination. On the so called most interesting room you are not allowed to take photos.
Came here with my daughter to check out the Endeavour space shuttle... it was pretty cool. I couldn't believe it was free to enter the California Science Center as there is so much to see. Living in Seattle, our science center charges so we don't go that often but we donated anyways and it was well worth it. Check out the tide pool machine while you're there, it's impressive.
Wonderful, lots to explore. Excellent hands on interaction everywhere. Great way to spend the day.
