The best thing to see is the Shuttle Endeavor, then in the path inside the structure you can also admire airplanes, spaceships and flight simulators. There are also laboratories where pooter try their hand at small experiments. To visit even if you would then expect something more.

While it definitely seems targeted toward a younger crowd, this place is great for learning on any number of subjects. Everything from surgery and bodily functions to space travel. Most of the exhibits are interactive and many of them despite being a bit dated are very informative. There are definitely a few highlights to see, the biggest one being the Endeavor. It's downright impressive, and there is a lot to see there. They have a timeline of space missions, the workings of rocket boosters, and, of course, the item itself. Definitely worth the trip and absolutely worth going back to!

Love this place! So many cool things to see for kiddos! Not really "free" per se as parking is 14 dollars and it costs to see some of the exhibits once inside but all in all a really cool day for kids. Recommend highly the space shuttle endeavor exhibit. Cool science things for curious mind's and a fulfilling day for kids and adults as well! Really cool limited time exhibits like King Tut too! Not to mention it's walking distance from natural history museum!!

Absolutely great museum with brilliant space shuttle display. The whole reason for the visit was to see Endeavour up close and you can walk around it, take as many pictures as you like and get really close - but not allowed to touch!! Fantastic value for money. Easy parking and easy to find.

Entrance free. You pay for Imax and some short term exhibits. The Spaceship Endevor is amazing! Parking $12 cash! Park underneath the to level for shade and usually still a great spot. So much to see you can't do it in a day. Also the African American Museum and a huge rose garden, and Natural History Museum right there!

A nice museum with an emphasis on how things work with plenty of hands on activities for children. I did find it a bit lacking for the adult visitors and would possibly reconsider if you weren t bringing little ones.

Free museum, you pay separately for Nasa or other momentary exhibitions

It has a great giant aquarium, with a variety of fish and a diver that appears to explain to the children and answer their questions.

It gets pretty full on weekends but overall worth it. For the most part it's free except for other attractions that aren't permanent in which you have to pay to get it. Really great place for anyone of all places. They also have a lot of marine life as well as lizards that you can look at. Air conditioned and a lot of room to walk around in.

Best place for kids and adults alike...unless the adults are anti-science, because no kid can possibly be anti-science. We didn't attend any 3D, 4D shows (it requires extra ticket), but the general entry and some shows inside are absolutely free. One jist has to pay for parking per car per day (around $12). The parking ticket is also valid for the African American History museum in the same block.

Endeavor alone is worth the visit

Endeavor alone is worth the visit
Cheap/free and tons of exhibits. Great for families with kids although it does get very busy there.
Any age group can appreciate the space shuttle, give yourself 1.5 - 2 hrs just to see that exhibit.
Check out usca campus across the street while your in the area, one of the most beautiful campuses I've ever seen and lots of lunch options which are much better than the science center.

Space Shuttle Endeavor is amazing to be in the presence of! They also have an external fuel tank on display - very interesting!! Body Worlds - Pulse is also quite amazing in a different way. Both in one day was spectacular! Either of them would have been a real treat by itself.

The only issue we faced is that at the entrance nobody let you know that you need to buy a ticket to have access to see the endeavour, and it's not listed as an individual show. So we had to walk back outside to buy the tickets.

The reason why Im giving it one star is to warn eveyone not to get a cafe latte here in the coffee shop. It smelt funny and I still drank some but afterwards I was vomitting. They probably use expired milk. Just beware. The place is great for kids.
