25 years later....it's one o' my 'go to' places. Always parking on the street right there on 7th.......everything is delicious!!

I Was Here recently, the last time I was here was about 20 years ago. Great place great food great staff. You must try this place!

I go here whenever I get a chance. The food is very good. I enjoy the guacamole. It's fantastic.

All very rich but I will walk away that the manager has to change his bad character his arrogance that he has with all respect does not have the charisma to be a very arrogant heavy manager we ask the waitress to please change our table the very angry said
That no table changes are not made there a boy broke a glass and the dele was watching with a horrible character with much respect I do not return to that place it hurts everything very rich but the manager is very arrogant change your attitude with the clients

Little pricy, but well worth the visit. Definitely coming back. Ask for Diana

The staff is rude and the food is NOT amazing. The quality of the food and service was terrible. Not a place for authentic Mexican food.

My second experience at this restaurant was bad. The food was okay and the guacamole was so bad! You can make a better one at home!

Very disappointed. My friend ordered a hurricane miami vice and there was a used bar rag/napkin at the bottom of her large glass. John the manager tried to tell us it was a tiny straw wrapper. It was full size paper towel! He then comped her drink and tried to give her a coupon for a free guacamole when she came back. I am sure it was a full on mistake but when the manager tried to play it off as something small like a wrapper we were even more disgusted, he literally stated he was only concerned for the person who received the bad drink not any of the other 4 people in the party!. We have been there a few times and enjoyed the place but very sad and disappointed at the treatment we received today. In the end her drink and 2 appetizers were comped. The manager really should have been apologetic and embarrassed this happened under his watch and not argued with his customers.

Very clean. The servers are very friendly. Food was delicious.

Amazing brunch menu, would highly recommend for people who want an amazing brunch experience without having to pay crazy prices.

Lovely little place. If your eating out side get there before 5pm or it will fill up around sunset. The food was great enough to try it again

Pretty expensive for what it was. $18 for guacamole for 2. Service was mediocre at best. We had to ask for it everytime we wanted something. Food was alright, portions seemed smaller than regular tex-mex restaurant, but food was alright.

Seemed like they just wanted to get as many tables through as they could.

Also wouldn't seat us until 2 top opened up when they had multiple 4 tops.

Charged extra for all kinds of things like salsa $3, changing the meat on a dish $4.50 etc.

I'm giving this place 2 stars and that's being generous. The two stars are for the drinks that were tasty and strong even though they gave me a headache. It was the middle of the daytime so in my opinion the drinks should have been at least half price or much cheaper not so pricey.

Now onto the food the food was subpar and mediocre. We did order guacamole for one and elote corn. The guacamole for one didn't even look like one avocado, the tiny portion looked like a side order of guacamole that you would get at another Mexican restaurant along with your food. We ordered the special which was 14:99 you get to pick either two tacos two burritos or two enchiladas and a house margarita. I ordered Taco al pastor and a chicken enchilada but before I ordered the enchilada I asked the server if the enchilada had a green sauce on it and she kept looking at me like she didn't know what I was talking about and then she suggested that they have Tabasco sauce. I continue to ask "no salsa verde does it have salsa verde?" because usually when I've gotten chicken enchilada they've been covered in some type of sauce. She had to ask one of her co-workers if it came with green sauce and came back and told me yes so I ordered the chicken enchilada. When the food arrived the chicken enchilada was covered in some type of red sauce and it didn't taste good at all. The corn tortilla was soggy and inedible the taco al pastor was square chunks of pork dressed in a tiny amount of red type of sauce, the meat was dry it had about three or four pieces of diced onion no pineapple at all like I'm used to getting when I get al pastor and I didn't even try the rice and the beans that accompanied it.

Now onto the service. service was not good at all. They made us wait at least 10 minutes before someone came over to take our orders and the place was empty. You don't get any chips or anything on the table as an appetizer most places at least give you chips and salsa. The chips weren't even fresh, the ones that came with the guacamole you could tell they were stale. The server was terrible. She never came over to ask us how we were doing if we needed anything else we had to keep asking her to come over to give us napkins or want more water or another drink. When the food was served the guy who brought the food out almost knocked my drink over. It was a disaster I would never go to this place again way over priced and mediocre food not my type of place at all

Overall good food, a bit on the pricey side for portions that are too great in size. The street corn is tasty but the corn size is pretty underwhelming. The alcoholic beverages are pretty good just also a little on the pricey side. Overall decent atmosphere. But wouldnt say this was the greatest example of mexican food but a white wash mexican version.

Overcrowded over an hour and a half for a table the drinks were okay bit pricey

Amber is amazing she s always attentive with me && my party. Food is good. The GIGANTE DRINKS are strong. Ive been coming here all Summer && she s always on point. She s amazing !

Sat outside, has chips and Guac, enchiladas, and chicken quesadilla.

The Guac was good, but wouldn t get the enchilada again, was a good size, but didn t think the beans, rice or the enchilada sauce had much flavor.

They have a lot of drink options, but since I was nursing a hangover didn t have any. Because of the location and outside seating try it again for drinks and try the tacos.

Good food but the service can be lacking. We received the wrong check and when we got our check there were errors on it.

Had appetizers and dinner last evening with my daughtet and sister. Atmosphere was nice, service good BUT the pricing was a bit ridiculous for the quality of food. 12.00 for two overcooked tacos with no flavor. Same with the empanadas, same with the drinks. Over priced and for the quality. Quac was . Not coming back.

Really good food but awful service. Waiters are really rude. And don t care about you. Started to be very rude when it got busy and asked if we could move quicker since tables were running out. Again food good but waiters are awful

Was 2/3rds into a daquiri when I found a foreign object floating around in it. The waiter was quick to take the drink away and bring back another daq, however, when I asked if they would be comp'ing my original and the replacement drink due to my not being able to finish the first one/the inconvenience of having an unknown item in my drink (basic rules of good customer service), I was told that the original would be comped but I would have to pay for the replacement if I wanted to keep it. We thought this was a bit abnormal, so we escalated the situation to the manager and she confirmed that I would need to pay for the second drink since they comp'ed the first one (WHICH I WAS UNABLE TO FINISH). After some more back and forth with her, she said she'd comp both drinks but when the bill came, she had only taken off 1/3rd of the price of the drink! No apologies either. I've never heard or experienced this kind of stinginess and cheap handling of a customer relationship.

This one was a total miss, Caliente.

I had Brunch there and it was very different than Years Past Experience. I was disappointed. The first time I went there it was with my Sister in the 90's and it was incredible.
The ambiance remains however, the food was no where near what it was.

Came for dinner with some friends had chips with guacamole medium spice it was delicious with a large frozen raspberry margarita it was amazing. Then ordered a chicken soup it brought some white rice and vegetables in it and some aguacate very good also. And as main entree I had two skirt steak taco suave.

Normally a fantastic place, tonight it was just ok.

I have been going to Calientes for over 5 years. The gentlemen at the front door that ask you for ID is simply amazing and gives you that awesome WELCOME experience right before you enter Caliente's, I appreciate his hospitality as well as my group of friends we always take a picture with him. I want him to be acknowledged because he is outside through all 4 seasons ready to greet you with a smile as he checks your ID I feel safe always. Last night I was excited to celebrate my Best Friend Birthday as we was out on a ladies night, drinks are pricey every time I go they seem to go up, but they are delicious I still feel they should work on better prices. We ordered the Guacamole it was delicious as always, my friends ordered quesadillas and enchiladas and I ordered my only dish that I eat from there only because I lovvveee it which is the "Shrimp Quesadilla" and I was so disappointed the shrimp was all gooey, the cheese and just the preparation of the quesadilla and the taste was not at all how it was before! Maybe a new chef is in town but I preferred the old one, I informed the waiter how the food did not taste good he removed it and took it off the bill. Dear Calientes, you have loyal customers like me please have some drink specials and have the chef improve a tad more or Dont change the ingredients you had before with the food. It is what makes me and my group of friends go to you guys and of course the drinks.

All restrooms are downstairs. Not wheelchair accessible, & the main level space is tight. However the food was good.

Only giving them four stars because I did not eat there. A group of us was looking for a place to stop in for something to drink and take a break from walking. We sat at the bar facing street and it turned out to be cool sitting, visiting, and people watching.

Food was good. But that was the only upside to the whole experience. Service was terrible! The restaurant wasn't even crowded. We stood at the door for a few minutes too long until someone decided to acknowledge us. Then we sat at the bar. Took us about 10 minutes up realize no one was going to acknowledge us. We walked quite a bit to get to this bar so we stuck it out and got seated at a table. Two different waiters tried to take our order. Very unorganized. He became rude telling me that my order couldn't go through because some other ticket was already open. Such a big disappointment when I had such high hopes.

Wide variety of dishes. The margaritas are also very good! Very welcome from the servers.

Karen was an amazing waitress. She served my dog without me asking and just knew what to do. J can't wait to go back and get service by her again. I think ppl need to learn from her what real serves is.
