Great day out not just about eating it a very interesting day out
Faded.....I don't think the new owners realise the romantic fondness we have for Cadbury. This place, to be fair, is aimed at the kids but cadburys (or whover they are now) could look to Harry Potter world for inspiration. We loved Bournville ( the actual village) but we didn't get to see how chocolates are made on the production lines...that was what I was looking for. Such a powerful amd evocative brand but a lame outlet.
Went to Cadbury World on a school trip (our third in three years) and it was brilliant! Has there been a refurb as everything seemed to have been updated ? The exhibition tour was much improved and easy to get around . The screened talk rooms were more informed and interesting. Our pupils loved it and were kept busy all day . Special mention to Neil (the chocolatier) whose demonstration on how chocolate is prepared was both educational and amusing - give this man a pay rise! An excellent trip all round .
Great day out for the family (and you get plenty of chocolate!), would definitely recommend checking the website and booking a tour slot as its always very busy. Have visited Cadbury World a few times now and the kids have always enjoyed it. On our last visit we spent the majority of the day there and the Christmas events were great, best to plan your times to the separate attractions, prior to and after, your factory tour.
Family friendly fun day out for the Chocolate lovers!
Try and get a deal when you go as taking a family of 4 can get pretty expensive.
Educational tour of how chocolate is made, the history of Bournville and history of chocolate.
If you know an employee that works for Cadbury they can get you discounts if they book on your behalf.
Free parking on site which can get busy in school holidays.
Good family day out. The tour is good for history, but you miss seeing a true chocolate making experience. Queue for the car ride at the end is very long!
Staff were fantastic. Great with my little man who has Autism. But is a one time visit.
Very good place to visit with a young family. Loads to do to keep everyone entertained for 3-4 hours.
It's not very interactive for kids below 5. Considering it's a chocolate factory I would have thought the your would be more child friendly.
Went here with kids ranging from 7-13. They enjoyed it but I feel it isn't quite the excitement it sounds, but neither is it the factory/history thing either. It kind of does both satisfactorily but neither amazing
Fantastic family day out. Well worth visit and very interesting. Lovely shop, staff very friendly. Free on-site car parking. Recommend book online, it saves time. We rated this 5 star. Brilliant.
They've done m not awful. Some bits are great for all ages, some for older some for younger. And the shop at the end is as cheap as anything.
As good as you think it is! 4d cinema and play area for kids, lots of.chocolate and.baby friendly
Excellent attraction for all the family, a great day out for a good price.
Really good for a day out nice tour of the factory and a really good peak into its history and the 4D theatre really good fun too
Not as good as it was. It's a shame they got rid of the packaging plant that you could walk around.
My wife and daughter and I recently went to Cadbury World for my granddaughters 8th birthday we were disappointed the kids enjoyed most of it though too busy with school parties (perhaps have certain days for schools and warn general public) but there were areas that were not accessible with the pushchair which meant my wife missed out on areas as baby was asleep and areas not open eg kiosks and childrens play area.
The restaurant however was a total disappointment after seeing the pictures advertised we were all looking forward to a chocolate milkshake these were at best mediocre when at Cadbury's you expect good chocolate!!! The restaurant is expensive nearly a pound for packet of wotsits ! be warned and take own picnic .
The Cadbury shop again was too expensive with chocolate items costing more than our local shops. There is a small factory outlet but again more expensive than local supermarkets.
I feel sorry for tourists coming here from other countries who would not know this info.
Come on Cadbury charge fair prices give better service make pushchairs accessible in all areas and change who ever is running your restaurant.
Cadbury chocolate, educational and physical activities for the kids. What else do you need for a family day out?
Very well organised, good value for money, plenty to do. Loved the 4D experience
Loved the place. May look ordinary from the outside, but I was pleasantly surprised after getting in! They have actually worked hard and made this place really fun loving, both for adults and kids alike. It is educational too... With 4d show, free chocolates, live hand chocolate making and much more. Strongly recommend...
Omg this factory visit is amazing. Wheelchairs are well catered for but the best bit is the cup of melted chocolate you're allowed to try. Wow!
Lots of information and exhibits. It's more for kids but we went as a couple and still enjoyed it. They did have part of the factory closed for the exhibit which wasn't never known to us before hand. Would be better if a factory tour was available. Lots of food and drinks available on site
Interesting place to visit and free chocolate! Nice little gift shop, indoor cafe, outdoor play area etc.
Seriously good day out for the kids during the Easter holidays
This has been perfect experience in Birmingham with loads of fun
Very interesting. Lots of chocolate. Good value for money.
Disappointing. They let to many people inside. There was lots of standing around and waiting. 30+ minute ques. I have a bad back so could not stand in a queue for so long. So unfortunately there was things we didn't get to do. I sat outside to rest my back and got speaking to another visitor who said she had a bad knee so also due to ques her child missed out on things. There was so many people I didn't enjoy the tour. There was 2 little theaters during the tour with history of Cadbury's due to over crowing some people were sat on the floor. Also people was talking during it so I could not hear. Because there was so many people it was hard to look at everything on the tour. Every one was in everyone's way.
Fun for all ages, few freebies on entering and actually pretty educational (how chocolate is made, the discovery of it etc)
Had a lovely day out at Cadbury World. The 4d show was amazing!
Great place but needed more time than suggested for the main tour so had to miss bits as needed to leave. So i would suggest at least 2 hours for the main tour if you want to do everything
Fantastic for kids, outdoor play are, glitter tattoos and face painting. A little unexpected ride which was great. Best thing was the chocolate and the 4D cinema. Also interesting to hear about the history of Cadbury s etc.
It was a brilliant day and disabled friendly staff could not do more to help if they tried.
Fab day out with kids. Very interesting to find out how Cadbury and Bournville all began. Chocolate tasting too!!
We visited here as we had some discount vouchers for adults and children (I am not sure I would have paid full price to visit). When I rang to book the tickets the lady told me to book an allocated time slot for part of the exhibition. It was booked for 10.30 and we arrived at 9.30 as we were advised to look around the rest of the attraction prior to our tour (self guided)....however all you can really actually look around is the shop and the cafe. My advice is to not arrive until the start of your tour otherwise you will be bored! The factory is great to look around and there are lots for the children to see and do! We were given 5 free bars of chocolate each during the tour which was more than enough! Take your own lunch as they have covered picnic areas!
Even as an adult I found Cadbury World to be alright. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst either. Most of the activities are catered towards younger audiences but there's still stuff to enjoy like the 4-D cinema, chocolate tasting sessions and the history of Cadbury
I wouldn't say it's a must see attraction but I didn't regret going
I dont like chocolate but my boys do and they had an amazing day. It was a fabulous morning out. We spent 2-3 hours there, shop was great and not expensive (cheaper than the supermarkets ) my boys were in there element 2yrs and 14 years (autistic). 4D cinemea was amazing.
We had a great visit to Cadbury World just before lockdown 2.
First we arrived a hour early and done the Bournville walk which is a very nice stroll around the factory and village.
We then went into Cadbury World where there was enough to keep us, entertained for 3 hours. You also get given chocolate on entry!
We then enjoyed a very pleasant afternoon tea in the Cadbury cafe where the staff were brilliant, kind and helpful.
All in all a great day and well worth a visit.
Loads of activities for the kids and some interesting displays for all family. Play area is fantastic, 4D experience was great, main tour was good and varied activities on the way round. We had a brilliant day. Cafe a tad on the expensive side but these places always are. All round brilliant day out for the family would definitely recommend
Excellent day out. Lots of fun for kids and grown ups alike. Interesting information, tasty treats and lots of fun activities (quizzes and games on computers). 4D film with special effects - amazing experience. Great adventure playground for the kids while the adults can sit and have a rest with a nice cuppa. Only downside was that the refreshments were a little bit on the pricey side. It is a shame that we weren't able to see the chocolates being made anymore as we were able to see a few years ago. Also, years ago we got to taste the chocolate drink the way the Aztecs had it with the chilli - Please Cadbury bring it back, it was so nice.
Good tour, shop disappointing lots of things just what you can but from every shop
Overpriced for what it is. This used to be a lot more fun and memorable. Now it seems very expensive for what it is. The walk through is aimed at older children as it involves a lot of reading and listening to parts of the story. There is a ride you que for which our 4yo loved which lasted about a minute and you que for about 40 so we were quite underwhelmed by it all. My memories of this place as a child were greater... drinking the cocoa without any sugar and milk added, measuring yourself in crunches, the funny parrot. It just seemed to have lost some of the novelty and could do so much more.
It was absolutely an amazing experience! Must recommend if you're around Birmingham!
Amazing! So much to do for kids we even got to see the halloween shows!
I enjoyed my experience even though I went with the school but Cadbury word does accommodate for big groups of people and it didn t feel to crowded and the whole experience flowed well. Overall I really enjoyed my day out there and would definitely consider going again.
Visited on Sunday after not being for 18 years.
The best part of the tour is definitely the 4D cinema. I dont think it's great value for money.
Would say place over hyped. Don't get to see any of the modern current factory 'in action' worth a look if your in the area love chocolate and have few hours to spare but otherwise can learn more from you tube
Nice family attraction, been there many times, takes about 2 hours overall and has brilliant disbaled access
Absolutely fantastic day out, for the whole family, with plenty to do on the tour, and extra entertainment outside to the back of the factory.
Lots of new attractions for the kids. However not inexpensive
Great place for kids who love chocolate and also very educational about the discovery of chocolate. The free samples were very nice and the staff were very helpful.
Chocolate...! They could give their visitors better and more chocolate though.
The 4D show had me in stitches. The staff and arrangement of the place are very good. The cafe is expensive (as is the entrance fee) but it was a nice experience to have a hot chocolate at a chocolate factory. The final show, which takes you on a small trip can carry with it a long wait. It was great to finally see what I have heard about since I was little. There was very little chocolate making to be seen. What we did see was pretty cool. It is more of a child's day out, with some information on the companies history. Unlike theme parks, this is not a place I would pay to enter on a weekly basis. Maybe in a few years, when they have added new stuff, I will go back. It is free to enter the shop, although walking out is not; only because you will not be able to resist buying something.
Cadbury world is a fantastic family friendly place where you see how Cadbury chocolate is made ,get you own personalised chocolate made for you by the Cadbury team and visit the world's biggest Cadbury shop at the very end of the experience indoors. then head outside where you have a pantomime (which is on at particular times) the Bournville experience, there own Cadbury mini monster truck at the entrance and freddos 4d cinema, also the giant outdoor play area and a car ride inside aswell
I thought it was an informative day, definately pushed towards younger children. It was a shame the staff let it down, throughout the day only 2 people were smiley, the rest made us feel like it was a real inconvenience that were there!
Honestly the Cadbury uk chocolate isn't good anymore. It tastes terrible ever since Mondelez took over. Cadbury world is overrated. The 4d theater is amazing, the maze and shows are good, writing your name in chocolate and seeing an actual chocolate tap was exciting but other wise they could improve on the entertainment. The store has some good stuff but wouldn't recommend buying the chocolate. Cadbury South Africa still tastes good thank God!
Poor value for money. REALLY long queues for everything, things that we had booked at certain times weren t running to time. We waited more than 20 mins past the expected time for the Santa Show that lasted just over 10. The little ride (Cadabra) and chocolate street were lovely but were the only parts that wasn t a disappointment in some way. I wouldn t bother again
I have to say it was a truly terrible experience, and note the following:
I bought tickets online for a guided tour this was not the case. It was not a guided tour and at no point did we see any real chocolate making.
At a mock-up of a Victorian street a woman had a microphone and kept looking at her watch ever couple of sentences. She spoke so quickly every word blended into the next and none of our party understood a word she said.
The quality of the tour was extremely poor no hands on seeing a cocoa bean or feeling and touching any part of the bean etc.
The tempering of chocolate was dirty, poorly organised, involved queuing with nowhere to sit
Despite having bought tickets for a guided tour at a specific time, we still found we were herded like cattle into a long line to enter, with a very annoying woman with a microphone making frequent, loud and grating announcements. Surely for all the little children you could manage to give them a chocolate or too while waiting in line??? In Waitrose at Christmas they hand out Roses so surely you could manage this?
The website does not truly reflect that this is an attraction, if you can call it that, for little children. My children were not amused at face painting and noddy car rides nor were they impressed with a quiz sheet to win a Freddo box of buttons!! Surely you could do something more creative for them about product design, advertising, product development, social production responsibility, technology development, science of chocolate making anything???
We wanted to see even a part of what we buy and eat at home being made where was this? Nothing at all, apart from money-making gimmiky tat like green screen photos and snaps on a car ride.
Having to buy cloth bags surely you want everyone who visits to have one of these why not make them free as an inclusive part of the ticket price think of the advertising and life-long endearment of that visitor to the brand!!! I ve been to Cadburyworld or ask me about my day at Cadburyworld people buy from people, and recommendation from a friend is more likely to gain more visitors and thus more revenue.
The shop well the World s greatest Cadbury shop how disappointed were we??!! Everything was more expensive than in the local convenience store, let alone a loss leader product on sale in a supermarket. In fact, we worked out that to buy a box of 20 99 flakes was twice as expensive as the same product in our local supermarket how can this be? When people have travelled, in good faith, at their own expense, often for many hours, you see fit to rip them off in the shop?
Brilliant place for a day out! 4D experience was the highlight of the tour! Very happy staff. Gift shop was cheaper than expected, a very pleasant surprise!
Very overpriced experience day. The Cadbury shop for members of the public is overrated and isn't much if any cheaper. There is more selection than most places which somewhat makes up for it. The staff shop is the place to be... But only staff are allowed in there. Either way, I wouldn't visit here if you're on a diet it's a very calorific day out!
nice family day out with definitely take kids again
Despite having to book a time slot, we were still let in although we arrived late
It was a fantastic experience my girls 6 and 10 loved it.
Lovely place to visit and see how Cadbury started, how develop Bournville. Needs to visit there!
Great for a day out with kids(or no kids) cafe included when i went in and ordered it took a while to come to us but the food equalled it out.
