BW Primary Care Review

Send you to specialists when unnessesary making you jump hoops and burn money. Made me spend $600 to get medication changed by specialists (that wanted to keep seeing me bimonthly for no reason) for back pain because they didn t like the medicine my old doctor prescribed rather than changing it themselves. Difficult to get appointments, wait in waiting area a long time after your scheduled appointment time.

Dr was great and very thorough. I got 2 shots today and the nurse was increadble. I didn t feel a thing!

I have been going to this doctor for several years. I am able to get an appointment with my primary care doctor within a week. If I am sick I can always get a same day appointment. I would highly recommend this doctor's office.

I have have several pleasant experiences when meeting with two of the doctors/nurses at BWPC. Unfortunately there are two main issues with BW that, judging from most of the other lower star reviews that echo similar if not identical complaints, they just CHOOSE not to address. I've had enough and my husband and I are both in the process of finding a new primary care physician. I almost wish I could attribute this to being overworked due to the pandemic...but these same complaints go years back.

Issue number one is how it is nearly impossible at times to reach ANYONE at BW. When I tried to make my very first appointment I called 7-8 times, on different days, over two weeks time and left at least two messages. Only one of which was responded to after a long wait. It's almost as if they don't want new patients.

Issue number two is more serious. On two separate occasions BW has either lost or uploaded my results to my portal account. The first time they said they had my results but forgot to upload them I believe. I let this go, assuming it was a one time human error. The second time happened just recently, when my radiology scan results were faxed to them. After a long time had passed I emailed BW and they said they did not have my results. I waited even longer and called the radiology location and asked what was going on. They told me my results were faxed to BW the SAME DAY, that they received a confirmation they went through and even gave me the fax number to double check. It was correct. Its now OVER A MONTH later and I am now just about to receive my results after they requested them.

What's goin on here! This is not ok...I'm just hoping that my result are clear. If not, well, I've already missed out on over a month worth of treatment. This is dangerous!

I have been a patient of this practice since before 2002. They have changed management and things are different than when it was when I first became a patient. That said I have always received wonderful, compassionate care from a variety of doctors and nurse practitioners and have referred several family members to the practice.

I have had a few specialist appointment where I needed last minute support from the staff at the front desk. In today s busy world they made sure everything was set up, to reduce the administrative burden on me. They even followed up each time to let me know the fax was successful, talked to the specialist staff,etc. They treat me like I am a valuable client, which can be hard to find these days.

In addition, to the great front desk staff the quality of care has been wonderful. CRNP Genna Sellers offers flexible appointment times, thorough assessments, great bedside manner, fast follow-ups and exceptional care.

Love them. Great service, caring compassionate staff. I have never had to wait a long time. My doctor really listens and cares.

This place is a complete joke. Not only are they IMPOSSIBLE to contact and get a front desk receptionist on the phone. They expect patients to find their building with NO SIGNS anywhere stating BW Primary instead they have a LifeBridge Health sign out front expecting you to know. Then when you call to ask where the office is because you re lost, you are on hold for 20 minutes before anyone answers. Upon arriving i was told I have to reschedule due to the doctor not having time. I would say this place is extremely unorganized and completely rude. The front desk girl, in eldersburg, MD, had to remorse for my struggle of finding their location and was not helpful whatsoever. Just a heads up for anyone considering BW Primary as their PCP doctor or any doctor, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE WITH BETTER PATIENT CARE.

Literally killed my husband. Left two children without a father. Recklessly prescribed unnecessary tranquilizers and narcotics for 20+ years even after he knew his patient had experienced strokes and gone into rehab, etc. because of it. If you want a Dr. Feelgood, this is your guy! If you want to actually LIVE go elsewhere. My children wish their father had.

The doctors and medical staff are wonderful, very friendly, caring, and competent.

However, it was awful trying to get a hold of anyone to give me my test results. Took over two weeks when it was supposed to take one. It also has been awful trying to get them to fax my test results to another doctor or to even get a call back. Almost every time I have left a message it has gone unreturned. I have been waiting for a week for them to send over test results.

Well tried to make an appointment there. Called 4 separate times over the course of 3 weeks and I keep getting a machine "we will call you back within one business day." Never got a call. So now I'm out of medicine because they couldn't call me back after 3 weeks. Called the on call doctor just to try and get someone on the phone and she told me "this is not the way you go about setting up an appointment." So what is the way since the way they gave me doesn't work? Guess I will be finding someone else since clearly they don't care enough to even call someone back.

This place has been good for us. Never wait longer than a few minutes to go back and Drs never take long to make it in room. Would recommend for anyone in the Eldersburg/Sykesville area.

This place has sent me bills in my name and I have not been here since 2010. Then they sent them to a debt collection agency. They have refused to give me any information on this matter. I was denied care because my ID was 2 days expired then again denied me care because I owed $75 AND WOULD NOT LET ME PAY AT THE TIME I WAS THERE!! Who does that!?? If someone is in need of medical care, it shouldn't matter. The doctors are horrible. I have been misdiagnosed multiple times. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! THEY ARE A COMPLETE RIPOFF!!!!!

I just moved to the area and needed to find a doctor. I called and they didn t keep me on hold for too long, and found me an appointment even with my nine to six work constraints. When I went they were very friendly and I didn t have to wait too long. The doctor, Dr. Husbands, was wonderful and so was the nurse. I have since been there frequently because of a continual illness and they can always find me a day-of appointment. All the doctors I have seen have been great. I m really impressed with this place. They treat you like people, not patients or problems, which I really appreciate. I would definitely recommend this practice.

My appointment was at 8:45am. I arrived at the office at 8:35am. The nurse took me back and processed me at 8:40am. It is now 9:15am and I am still sitting in the room waiting for the doctor. This office has gone seriously down hill.

Donnell James is an amazing provider! I would highly recommend him! He takes the time you need to listen to all your concerns about your health! Plus the staff has always been wonderful!

I have been a patient here since I was 8 (I'm now 24) and ever since they changed new management a few years ago they have become horrible. Several times I have called to schedule an appointment to either be hung up on, put on call waiting and then hung up on, or forced to leave a voicemail which they never respond to. Just today I called to try and get my prescription refilled and my test results back, and over an hour long of waiting on the call waiting list I was kicked off again to the voicemail box, which I know they will never respond to.

Absolutely the worst service and care imaginable. Avoid this office.

My father is seen by Donnell James and I'm seen by Kerri Davis. I absolutely love both of them. We drive all the way from Towson to stay with these two. (I use to live in Eldersburg) highly recommend either one of them. The only reason I am not giving 5 starts is because the phone service can be horrible at times. I have called and been on hold for 20 mins only to have my call dropped when I was next in line to call back, wait another 20 mins and have it happen again. This has happened more than once and was very frustrating at the time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes things can run a little behind but they always take great care and time with us.

Everytime I go to BW Primary between the staff, Nurse Practitioners and doctors they have always showed me respect and wanting to help me starting to feel better. If I was able to give them 10 stars I would. Thank you very much.

My family of 7 have been cared for by the Doctors and Nurses at BWPC since they opened and they are awesome, going above and beyond.

Two separate reviews. 4-5 stars for the docs and nurses. I have been going to this office for maybe 4 years. There has been a good deal of turnover w docs. But the ones we see are caring and capable and thorough. But second review is for front desk and getting them on the phone. (I know a few secrets now) but scheduling or calling and getting a call back is not good. Its really hit or miss. Come early to your appointment bc check in is slow sometimes. I worked in medical offices and I know how busy the desk and phones can be. . Front desk staff are nice but seems like they need more help to check patients in. It's a busy place. Other good thing about this office is they have a lab on site and there is very little wait there and the ladies in there who draw blood are so nice an funny. I think all offices have their bad days too but as far as medical care I am very pleased with this office.

Excellent care. My whole family comes here, and have for many years. They provide excellent service, have always been able to squeeze us in for same day appointments when necessary & the whole medical team will work tirelessly until they get to the root of the problem. I couldn't recommend a better PCP.

The front desk needs some training on customer service. The patient is the customer that pays their salary. If only the doctors knew how they treat the paying customers. I do not recommend going to this practice. BW Primary Care is horrible. BW Primary is unprofessional. Stay away.

I have been a patient at BW Primary care for years. My experience has always been great with friendly and caring staff and thorough care of any issues that I may have. My doctor always takes the time to listen to what's going on and provides a plan to make things right. I wouldn't go any where else.

My family goes to this practice, and each time I have been greeted cheerfully by the staff, and seen with little wait time. The service has been great, and I think this is an extension of who Dr. Wang is: a caring, compassionate, and solid practitioner.

I have started the laser treatments, which I used to be skeptical about. But I have to admit, they are making a difference for me. It's great to have a place that is more than just a regular doctor's office. I feel like I can be my best self with all the wellness services they are offering, which is a big plus for me!

This doctors office used to be really good, in the past two years it has been horrible. I can't even make an appointment anymore when I need to. People get sick, and no one is at fault for that, but when you work with the public and need antibiotics as soon as possible they're booked for two weeks and can't even squeeze me in for 5 minutes, they need to have some sort of open time for same day urgent appointments, and most of all be prepared for things like that. I've had to go elsewhere. I've been going there for 6+ years. It's time to find a new primary care.

I am consistently impressed with the level of care my family receives from multiple practitioners at BW Primary Care. Each of them takes the time to listen and offer practical advice, delivered with compassion and not judgment.

Donnell James, PA-C is a caring, competent provider. He, and this entire practice, really care about their patients.

I wish I could rate lower than 1 star. The PA I see is actually very nice, but he billing office here is HORRIBLE and RUDE!!! Beware that they will double bill you for one appointment and blame your insurance company for rejecting the duplicate claim. Ridiculous! This is a system wide problem with all of LifeBridge Health, so make sure you read your statements carefully!!!

Requested my records be transferred to another doctors office 2 weeks ago. Still waiting. And never knew my doctor was no longer at the office since I had to move to PA for my new job.

I was in the search for a new primary care doctor since I outgrew my pediatricians office I had been going to the past 20 years or so. Finding a new doctors office it pretty difficult so I put it off for a couple years. I turned 24 and decided I needed to get back in for a routine physical and keep up with my health etc. I found BW primary care to be most convenient location wise to my new house and they had fairly good reviews. Upon my first visit, I felt pretty good! The staff was friendly enough & the doctor seemed attentive and actually talked to me instead of the routine typical going down her checklist on her laptop and leaving the room in five minutes, so I was pretty content! They updated my shots, gave me bloodwork to get done etc. like any normal person I put off the bloodwork since it was fasting and it was difficult to get done before getting into work. I finally got around to it and didn t hear a peep from the doctor, no news is good news in my brain. Now, keep in mind I have worked at a primary care office before, so, I know how lab work and all of that works. It is the DOCTOR OR STAFF s JOB, to keep up with test results and INFORM the patient of ANY discrepancies or abnormal results. I got my blood work in October and in February I decided to login to my patient portal to make an appointment for something else. I happened to see my test results were posted, just curious to see where all my levels were at since I never got a call....come to find out I tested positive for Lyme disease. I was furious. I called the doctors office immediately. I will give credit to the doctor, she did call me on a Sunday and tried to explain everything, although I believe it was just excuses blaming that the lab got her last name wrong, the staff let these results slip through, blah blah blah...then blames me, the patient, that I should be the one calling into the office to keep up with my results. Unbelievable. The office was of no help after my results. I continued to research on my own. Months later I get a letter that the doctor is leaving the office. I don t know if this office has taken on more patients than they can handle or what, but if you want an attentive doctor, staff, and office...this is not the office to choose for your medical care. If you just want a prescription written quickly and sent on your way then by all means make an appt with them.

This place is amazing, staff is very friendly, I was in and out in 30 minutes, best appointment ever.

So today I had a few things that needed to be addressed and I had the pleasure of communicating with Felicia. She was able yo take care of everything that needed to be addressed but also show concerned and compassion about my financial concerns... So thank you Felicia..

I'm a patient of Donnell James whom I have been seeing since 2016.. I drive a good distance because I know I will get the best care.. I was referred to him by some friends.. He is always available to any concerns I have. He is well aware of all my medical isssues and makes sure that any specialist I deal with he cross checks my medications and with the specialist.. Thanks for all you do and with a smile..

I have been going here for several years now. I used to be with Caroll Primary and switched because Caroll Primary was horrible. The other 4 members of my family were going here so I decided it was time to try. I have been so happy with the care and service at BWP I just wish I had switched over years before I did. They are a wonderful group of people to deal with. I was seeing Dr. Merritt who was phenomenal. Since she relocated out of state, I now see Dr. Wiesenberger who is also just fantastic. I have recommended and will continue to recommend to friends and family.
