I wanted to accept Bunq through my payment provider. Before I knew it I had opened a business payment account via chat I indicated that I would rather not. Chat was broken immediately .. I want to get rid of it, but how ?!

While looking for an alternative / second account, I came across Bunq.
I found the bank's appearance appealing and also transparent.
Especially the path the bank takes, unlike classic German banks. I find it very positive.
Registration is quick and intuitive.
So far I have had no problems with the NL - IBAN numbers. I have already convinced two friends of Bunq.

A little annoying is the limitation when withdrawing cash, these are partly limited by the operator bank.

Not the safest bank. Since using from one month ago i only deposited a amount wich has been depleted by scammers the last two days. Costumer worker Dario (united Kingdom) wasnt really helpfull. He told me to freeze the cards and it shouldnt happen again and hell report it too his team, lol. I think unless you freeze your online and offline cards from Bunq your money isnt really that safe on this banking platform. If you dont believe me i got screenshots from the conversation and the whole affair. ridicolous

Started out a great bank, no issues. When the new app arrived, numerous problems occur. The account information provided on the app regarding what constitutes a primary is wrong according to the customer service. My account is no longer active and under review, but the customer service is slow and unhelpful.

Installed the app, created an account and started immediately. After a while I noticed I had a Premium account. Upon inquiry, this turned out to be a gift from bunq. Sweet! I would receive a message before May 15 if I wanted to renew that Premium account, or switch to the free version. Ultimately, the bill for the extension was already on the digital doormat in April. Support does not want to refund the costs. Disappointed.

To my surprise, it was fun to use the app and I came to experience that bunq is totally different from other banks...in a good way. The subscription fee has risen swiftly. It used to be an affordable bank in the past, but now all they want is to earn money from the people who trust them. I had to switch my bank after years as I couldn't afford the high fee they charged.

Case 1: We ordered 2 cards and sent us 2 completely different products. At first they said it was because of a bug. But still we received a travel card instead of a normal card.

Case 2: I ordered a travel card. NOWHERE is mentioned that this card is not able to send money, but you can only receive money. I have bought many cards in my life, never ever heard of this BASIC characteristic NOT available. They should simply mention it if they want to be FAIR with their customers. Customer service explains it by saying : "But we dont mention that it sends money, so that means that it doesn't". No comments.

Bunq is one fraudulent bank that is why is why scammers are using this bunq. Bunq protects scammers. If anyone has been scammed by this Bunq or its user make your voices heard and take action to put a stop to this. This can't go on and this bank can't be allowed to remain open.

The experience with Bunq has been a complete nightmare. Everything is confusing. The old app was bad, and the new is truly horrific. The service is terrible and only available as in-app messaging. I feel bad for the employees who have to work in such a place.

bunq has gone from some of the best experience I have had while banking (incredibly easy to set up, and worked very well to start with), to some of the worst experience possible from a bank (monumental changes overnight with very poor comunication, fees imposed overnight, terrible business practices like not being able to cancel a subscrption after a 3 month trial...).

You shouldnt play with peoples money like this. Absolutely disgusting. I am now looking for alternatives.

I keep saying (even though bunq does not like it that much). Bunq is not a bank, but a payment service. Convenient is the debit card (so pay attention, no credit card) that is linked to your payment account. This provides convenience for, for example, online payments that require payment with Visa / Mastercard.
I also like to top up the payment of money from another bank account with another bank through iDeal. This is also the first that offers several passes (for example your partner) and where you can link a second PIN to a second account.

There are also considerable disadvantages. The service is expensive (just too much money) with 8 euros per month.
There is only English support since bunq has gone international and NL'se support only on request.
No telephone contact possible (sometimes very disadvantageous) and no postal address. Not even a mail address. If you are not a customer here, bunq is inaccessible anyway. Would you like to submit an official document, file a written complaint, request your privacy-sensitive documents by post, hold them (financially) liable? Can not, or you have to go there personally. (Incomprehensible.)
Bunq also sometimes has tricks that will raise your neck hair. That is how bunq was once free as a startup. Just a free account with debit card. This is how the slogan '' 'bank of the free' came into being. (It is now being denied.) You only paid for what you used, such as withdrawals, transactions etc. After an interim step that suddenly became 8 euros a month (increase of more than 600 %) and stands "free" for "freedom." What that freedom entails is not entirely clear.

My neck hair went up again yesterday. As a marketing ploy, bunq has devised new account holders to win 10,000 by drawing lots. Four chances, four times 10K. 40,000 will be given away to four (!!) lucky ones. And to think that without the 8 euro price increase bunq according to the owner would not be profitable.

The second part of my review weighs heavier than the first. Hence 2 stars.

Management is terrible. They have very high standards for tasks but give no compensation. Also, they like micromanage. You won't be able to focus on your work because of the annoying managers constantly micromanaging you. Moreover, managers shaming employees in front of other co-worker is a common sight. As an introvert, I really I hate it when managers do this. But you do not have to be an introvert to realize that public shaming is never helpful.

Registered for an account, really excited to work with them since they are a Dutch digital bank so I could use the switch service.
They asked a few questions to know my intention with their bank, felt a bit uncomfortable but ok. Then they promised 24 hours process, but nothing had done after 4 days. I could've made an appointment with a traditional bank and opened a new account within that time. So I gave up.
The only thing good during the whole process was the speed of customer service.

P/S: To the reply from "bunq" that tried to make it look like a case of "Missing required documents": No, it's not. Your Customer Service only came back to me with the explanation of "System bug".

Bad bank. Bad service often foreign support employees who do not speak Dutch. Fickle: weird updates to their app, they introduce some kind of game elements into banking. Cluttered app. Have increased subscription prices several times since becoming a customer. I have been trying to close my account for months, but they say that it is not possible because a moving service is active while my new bank says it can. I do not recommend Bunq to anyone.

It took me days to get in contact with customer service and you can only contact them via email if you're having account or app issues. They don't have a phone number. They couldn't figure out a better way to fix my account other than to close it and return all of the money to where it came from which was different clients since its my business account. So now I have to contact all of my clients and make them pay me again...Unfortunately would not recommend if you want a bank with remotely decent customer service.

Creating a personal account is quick. What I don't like is that it is ONLY with a telephone. I would like to have the possibility to have the same function per browser on a PC. Because if you lose your phone you are stuck. And when I work on a PC I find a keyboard for my bank transactions very useful.

However, what annoyed me: I wanted to create a business account for a foreign company. To do this, you must first create a personal account. Is ok. I had a good review here for Bunq, but with the new rates they show that they think they can do what they want. From 1 euro per month to 8 euros per month? Never! Of course, as an existing customer, I can keep the old rate, but as soon as I need a replacement pass or want an account with (previously 10 free), do I have to switch to 8 euros per month? Again: Never!

I absolutely love what Bunq does. Working via the app takes some getting used to, but everything works as it should. Well thought out and interesting to see how it can be done, without a bulky banking organization around it.
