Bunq used to be a very good but somewhat expensive bank. but the idea behind made it worth it to be part of it.
Now bunq has made drastic changes. they distance themselves from the community they build, increased their prices and keep on making very odd and unexpected choices for their business.
The TransferWise integration was a really cool addition. I m happy with it so far.
When clicking on the differences between Free and Premium options click on PREMIUM. The subscription was immediately converted and no additional confirmation or agreement for conditions was requested. Within 30 seconds I have undoed the abo again but that is only about 1 month. Nobody responds to the feedback given. I find this procedure inadmissible for financial institutions. Bunq can not be reached by telephone and that is not possible for a bank. Unfortunately, I can not therefore advise Bunq. Please respond in Dutch, dear Bunq people.
I send money to my friends instantly, I request it instantly, no complains so far.
The cards are super cool, and you can even personalise them Love the colours!
Very easy and quick to open an account. The app is really user-friendly, and bunq always tries to come up with some new cool features. Would recommend to everyone!

If I could give Bunq bank a 0 stars I would....
Scammers used Bunq bank to steal money from me by using a payment link that showed a different amount in the payment link that was sent to me then the amount that has eventually been deducted from my bank account.
They deducted MORE money then was shown in the payment link.
When I contacted Bunq bank about this it was extremely hard to find someone that was able to assist me in my native language and with knowledge about my countries laws, whereass they do opperate in my country of origin. And when I was finally able to speak to someone they told me:
Bunq bank does not take responsibilty for differences of amounts in payment links and that this is the responsibilty of the person sending the link.
After having gone back and forth many times and hearing that they absolve themselves from any responsibility I gave up.
I lost 2000,- euros.
Please note: After research online I have found many, many examples of people use Bunq bank to scam others!
It is just simply too easy to open a bank account through them. All you need is copy of a passport (no one ever checks if that passport that is used is actually theirs or exists and let's face it: who doesn't know how to use photoshop these days?)
And when a scammer has opened an account they are completely protected.
Not a very good bank, they can close your account and never give a reason why. No phone to call them only support trough email or in app chat.

Together with my friend I have opened a joint account with Bunq to be able to pay the rent and joint costs of an account. But before we had arranged, so much has already been written off that I don't think it's normal. Purely just being a member, without even paying 1 euro, has already cost us fifty (!!) euros. Get out of here quickly, if you love your money.
You at Bunq get the kind of arrogance that we are getting used from the Big Banks. But now it is done. I'm a customer of the first hour of Bunq and support their mission.
I understand new prices and phase out of legacy accounts are part of this. Cause of change of strategy and lean moving forward.
But this is misleading communication. Even this is just a upgrade of pricing it is not communicated as such.
This happend before from free to paid trow my business account and now to my joint account you want me to pay 80% more.
But my mailing and your messaging looks like we going green and 80% of customers want this. It does not mention anything about your price was 9.99 and become 18.- per month.

I was always a free member of BUNQ, but now I suddenly have to pay. Such a shame, I thought, and so on, the new Postbank, which was always free, but no, it is a real bank just grabbing. Such a pity.
Great great app. Anything you could ask a bank about. Now even with the new travel card you can rent car or make hotel reservations without any hassle ! Just top.
Very bad services, canceling bunq banking is difficult (still not successful) they only respond in english. Contact only goes through the app, but I have already canceled it. To keep in touch I have to reactivate it.
Apart from that, wireless did not work, the pass is also not possible with unmanned petrol pumps.
I really do not recommend Bunq to bank together.

Not innovative, too expensive, poor support and not even in my own language, bad app with bugs that is forced. Support is superficial and unaware, does not even respond to everything. It is annoying that I have no choices in matters that concern my privacy and Bunq keeps mailing me after canceling. In addition, my data is being resold here (stronger: correct). Not great at all. If it is a bit too negative, they add a overal to everything, quite childish.
Update: Bunq continues to send me marketing emails after my account has been terminated, and even after six requests this continues. Very annoying.

If you have problems with the app and you pass this on, you will be removed from BUNQ communion and also on Facebook you will be blocked by them. What does that mean ???
Never thought I d like the bank I have but I can fairly say that now that s possible with bunq.
You don't want to bank here. Support via forum is not my thing. Compulsory communication in English with a bank that is originally Dutch. It is not possible to call a professional support department. Unclear subscription structure. High monthly amounts for a debit card and to reduce costs you can share a paid subscription with (unknown) other customers. If you take your banking seriously, you better stay away from here.
I truly think is a revolutionary app, worth every cent of those 8 a month for this level of service. Great app keep up the good work!
Once you choose to work here, you'll lose your work-life balance. Management expects the employees to put work first in all cases. The work hours are also rigid, so you won't have much freedom or space. The company sees employees as robots who have no other thing to do in the world but to work for them.

Waardeloze bank. Door een storing van hun kant, meer dan 3 maanden geleden, zijn ze mij meer dan 300 euro schuldig (dubbele pintransactie) die nooit is rechtgezet. Ik kan op geen enkele wijze dit geld terugkrijgen VAN MIJN EIGEN BANK. Zodra ik dit geld terug heb, zien jullie mij nooit meer terug..

I've opened a free account and upgrade it to pro . After one month i have decided to stop the pro subscription, but not only that it's so complicated to get to that subscription menu and disable it with the app, but they also charged me for the second month as well while the month wasn't started yet.
After one month of free subscription my account shifted from free to pro all of the sudden on it's own. It was weird so i've haven't deposited much in that account, and i've done good because my account got hacked and used to pay for some services to messagebird.com . This company refused to refund the payment and the bank advice me to go to the police. End of story! Money were gone. I had to change twice my security code on the app, just because it wasn't working anymore. I never forget my codes btw. It was definitely the same user hacking into my account! First hacking attempt i have reported it but i got nothing back, and apparently the bank hasn't done anything to stop this from happening again. After the second one i've just decided to close my account.
I have bank apps from my other accounts on my phone, and use them daily since few years but they were never hacked.
I even have a free Revolut account and card, and i have never had troubles with it.
The reason i went for Bunq was because i could send sms with payment links to my clients.
Not only that i will never even consider going back to bunq but i will not even pay any bill to such bank.
Super happy customer, great for people that switch countries often and I feel that I have full control of my bank experience like saving goals, accounts and cards

After opening my bunq account, I put money on it. But you can only transfer the money back to my normal account through them and try to reach them for 3 days. I just want my money back! Because I can't do anything with my bunq account!
At my old bank I opened a joint account and took me much more time plus going to the office, here I did it in seconds, top service.

Too bad, you used to be able to open an account with Bunq for a reasonable amount. Unfortunately, the subscription prices have risen sharply. To pay more than 95 euros (7.99 * 12) per year goes a long way for me. Too bad it went this way ....
I worked here for a short time as a Customer Support but I didn't last long. The company has too many internal issues that they need to fix before they can fully cater to their clients. They seriously need to step back and reassess what their priorities are. Is it the money or giving true experience and service to their clients? Because right now, it's obvious that they would do anything to get money from people. Be it unethical or unfair. they don't care.

I have been a loyal bunqer since almost the beginning (2015-2016) and have been very active on social media to promote bunq.
In the past months / period, the quality of support and social media team has deteriorated sharply (questions are submitted to others and the fun and funny aspect has also disappeared).
In case of compliance problems, there is a late response or discussion.
Unfortunately, every relationship comes to an end.
Seemed expensive but ended up being super convenient and worth the price. I recommend it.

THERE IS NO APPROVAL WE CANNOT CALL ONCE SO WE OPEN A CHAT FEATURE. NOW THERE IS EUR 1998.23 ON THE ACCOUNT WHICH WE CANNOT. REMOVE BEAUTIFUL ANSWER FROM THE CHAT APP AND LOG IN AGAIN AND DO IT AND COUNCIL WE DON'T COME AT OUR BUSINESS ACCOUNT. TRY TO APPROACH SOMEONE 100 MAILS OUT OF THE DOOR AND STEEEDSS NIKSS STILL !!!!!!

i have just moved to the Netherlands and needed a dutch bank account. fast signup, bunq app runs well, so far so good, i am happy :)

Bank of the free became bank of the grabbers! 7.99 per month !!!! for a checking account.
These people like to "hold" or steal your money. You can request it back, but they won't give it back even after you provide all the documentation.
This probably the worst online banking that I've ever encountered. I tried their banking app since there are a lot of good reviews about them. However, during my first try, my transaction encountered an error but they have debited my account. I contacted their customer service but apparently they are too slow to respond and don't give any clear answer.
I find the app very easy to use. The colors on the cards are also beautiful! I am happy with it

I am a very satisfied Bunq customer. I discovered the new bank through a newsletter article from the Consumers' Association. Immediately after reading it, I download the application and create a free account. Of course, just like with other banks, they have to confirm your identity. This happened within 30 minutes.
Bunq was still in its infancy at that time, but has grown considerably and can now go for a larger size. The customer service (live chat) responds within one minute and that also on Sunday and evenings. They are friendly and helpful. They answer your questions.

Best bank in the Netherlands, totally worth the money. I have a free student account with ING, but I make full use of bunq Premium. Very innovative and payment is almost fun! A good app for tablets and multiple currencies would make the app even better.
I had a horrible experience of applying for a job at Bunq recently.
I found a vacancy in Business Development department which was advertised as an entry-level position and suitable for candidates who have studied International Business (my major) or any Business related study and have experience in Sales/Business Development or Client facing role (which I actually do). While applying for this position I took 3 hours to tailor my CV according to the job description. However, I was not considered for even a mere interview and was turned down with reason of not being a perfect match with the job position. Which is not true because, firstly, If I was not a strong match then I would not apply in the first place anyway and secondly, I had my CV cross checked with other recruiters who are industry experts and they mention that my profile is strong match with the job position.
Anyway, A Bunq employee who Studied at Hotelschool and was working at a Bank as a Recruiter rejected a candidate who studied International Business, has experience in Business Development and was applying for a Business Development position. Therefore, the provided reasoning for rejection is not justifiable. Moreover, I have also sent a reply to the recruiter requesting feedback on my application for which I have not received anything back yet.
My advise to Bunq: Please treat all the candidates in a Humane way instead of using ATS. Moreover, please provide the candidates with feedback so that they can improve and learn something from the application. Respect the time of candidates by ACTUALLY reading the CV and not only evaluate it through a bogus ATS. As candidates invest a lot of time and efforts in their application.

Save Your Money
Save your money by not putting it in this bank. They can close an account with funds in it anytime without giving you notice. you'll never know what they did with it. Using this "bank" is a huge risk!

I think that the app is quite straightfoward and easy to use. Has some nice features too but overall makes payements, transfers, etc. pretty simple.
Bunq is the best. Support so that your head is small, without leaving home or waiting for a connection with a consultant with oh wqrw ... Melody in the background. If I did not have an account in Bunq, but in a normal one, I do not know where I would be today. Thank you for working together on my cause and for your hours. For quickly catching by the system that the account is being used by someone else and an immediate reaction from Bunq, when I was sleeping well under the watchful eyes of my roommate who was doing my old phone with a damaged display, it was not a bad luck next to the wireless charger. Have a business account and can't get in now because of a bug. Takes 3 days now. They have support from different countries who always send you a template. I have repeatedly asked if I could be called because it is in a hurry.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They change the subscription model forcing you to pay more for less features. Well I don t want to go through the hassle of changing banks again so I try to reconfigure my subscription and it doesn t work, forcing me to pay even more for the subscription they forced me into. No answer yet from support for 5 days now.
To start with, I found Bunq very good bank but with the time I realized that bunq bank is very expensive 7.99 per month for a payment account. I have been using it for 3 months and then I thought it's all sustainable and I do not use it then I raise the payment account, I did not succeed then contacted via the chat there they indicated that they payment account will have a lot of evidence. Then today I woke up with a notification of your account ia blocked without any reason and I have 4 days ago still neatly asked to close the payment account they have not done blocked, this is the normal course of business of bunq, bunq is not accustomed to the fact that customers use their bank properly, but bunq is accustomed to abuse. And I hear that this is a criminal bank and not a just bank.

Without a premium account you can only deposit money into your bunq account. To make payments from your bunq account, you need an expensive premium account.
Terrible service. This is the second time my banking card gets blocked and there is no way to quickly verify my identity. I say, if you can, go elsewhere because when there are problems they will just tell you they can't help.
I do not recommend anyone to work with Bunq. Terribly poor service. They can not even perform their core expertise at all. My customers from the US and UK can not even pay our invoices. While the BIC and SWIFT code have been correctly informed. Most embarrassing is that the accountant and bank of our clients receive a notification that the transaction is postponed because they have a fraud report from Bunq. Can Bunq solve this in the meantime? NO! The bumblebees have been tinkering for 2 weeks. In addition, many payment terminals do not work with the cards. So you have nothing at all about Bunq! Look for another bank !!!

They tell you that you will receive a free pass as a gift. You will then be linked to a premium account without knowing it. You will find out as soon as money has been debited from your account.

Top service, fast and nice app. And most importantly, Bunq wants your money to be safe and therefore do not invest in risky shares etc. They are the only European bank that invests 90% in gold. This is the reason that I chose Bunq. The disadvantage of this is that bunq does not generate so much return that they pay out interest, grant loans and issue credit cards. So you cannot be in the red either.
My cards arrived super fast, I use Apple Pay and have better choices for budgeting. Top app.
