This clinic is awesome. As a normal AOK customer you don't get something like this in Germany. OK, you have to pay for it. But the service and the friendliness are just amazing. Everything is clean and well organized.

The food court is terribly overpriced for the quality and quantity given. Stick to the franchise restaurants in the hospital. There is a shuttle every 20 minutes to the escalators of Nana bts station. Otherwise hospital service is one of the best in Bangkok. There are minor improvements that could be done if they were not so busy. However no hospital is perfect.

IF YOU ARE A "FARANG" (FOREIGNER) IN BANGKOK AND NEED SOME SERIOUS MEDICAL CARE, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO
High quality hospital with staff who speak English (for those of us who havent mastered the delightful tonal Thai language!).
If you have good travel insurance (or a big wallet) you'll be fine.
Wide range of services and good support and preparation for foreigners who need initial treatment before retirning home for follow up.
Lots of tourists come here (and to Thailand generally) to seek out cheaper medical / surgical procedures...

Clinic due to cold and dizziness .. Injections and medications .. It costs over 170,000 won. The hospital looks good.
In order to get the nutritional solution, I paid 40,000 baht as a deposit and canceled my credit card after 2-3 weeks.

Bangkok's No. 1 medical institution such as scale and facilities. The medical staff are also rumored to be excellent, and the hospital staff are very friendly. However, the hospital fee is very expensive. Unlike Korea, since it is a for-profit hospital, you have to pay very expensive hospital fees instead of providing hotel-class services. The hospitalization room is also indistinguishable from the hotel room.

Been in Bangkok 9 years and this place has really bad reputation. I had to visit today to take care of my guest and I must that this place is a real cheat and thug. Sorry to speak out as other expats or event locals must know that they are big cheaters.
You are allowed have to be careful even if you have insurance because they asked us to admit us and took the emergency and told us insurance covers all. After 6 hours got admitted they inform us insurance will not cover.

This place is pathetic! It's a business in its worst manifestation. I can never call it health care! These are the exact words from a doc there: "If you keep asking questions you're gonna have to pay a lot of money". It was said to me when I was expressing concerns about my health. Almost felt like a fiction. Do NOT ever support such establishments. Places like this hospital are the cancer of health care. Wish you all to stay healthy and away from the evil of capitalistic health care.

Excellent facilities, great dental clinic, but be aware, today one of their Orthopaedic doctors try to sell me antibiotics even thou I explicitly told him I don't want any. His handwringing was so unclear that I requested a detailed list of medications at the payment counter, when I saw the antibiotics (which are totally not necessary - I hit my elbow) I had it removed.
When I went back and confronted him he made the most lame excuse... so great hospital but be aware of some of their doctors.

A friend is uncomfortable during the journey and needs to see an emergency. Looking at the evening clinic, the service is good, the staff is good in English, and the look is fast. Free translations can be arranged. The doctor prescribed the medicine for 3 days and consumed about 2400bth baht. In the case of a doctor in a different place, this is not bad.

Well, bit over priced and certainly over rated. Initial correspondence, airport pick up all were great extra services. Language can be an issue! After registration, went to see an internal medicine specialist, the delay to see wasn't explained well. Some tests that will be avoided in public funded hospitals because doctors are experienced enough to rule out a few tests as unnecessary, here they will push you to do because it works towards achieving the financial target. Sent medical records by email from past and one specialist was clear about saying no time to look at so many reports, bring print outs of important ones. Not a bad place to come for second opinion, especially when your own GP feels they have reached dead end!! Quite prompt in organizing appointments etc. Ideal, if you are on a holiday and get check ups done. Make sure the prescribed medicines are funded in your home country!! Pretty well managed.

Due to my personal experience, this clinic is NOT ...

Due to my personal experience, this clinic is NOT RECOMMENDED!

I underwent a cataract operation at Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok in September 2016. My own lens was removed (phacoemulsification) and replaced by an artificial one (intraocular lens).
After the operation I had to find out that my vision on the operated eye was severely restricted - in contrast to before. The only reaction to my complaint were delays "on later". After "later" nothing improved, I went to another clinic to get a status of this eye.
Here I was told that the "cheapest" was made. A monofocal lens was used, which was technically developed almost 70 years ago.
Which lens should be used, I was not asked by the doctor or the clinic beforehand, nor was I informed about the differences.

The only thing that worked well after the operation in this clinic was to collect a lot of money from the patient. A doctor's fee and an examination fee were also due for each personal consultation for the purpose of making a complaint to the doctor. The only result of these speeches is "Delays to later". No explanation for the existing problem.
In November 2016 I wrote a complaint to the management of the Bumrungrad-Klinik. There was no answer!
In July 2017 there was another trial and oral complaint from me at the clinic. Again, there were no definitive statements regarding a solution to the problem. But a bill for more than ten thousand Baht!

In the meantime I have personally submitted a petition in Bumrungrad, there has not been an answer to date. It's been a year now!

I would like to use this description to warn all those who travel to Thailand to seek medical treatment here!
Certainly the costs are lower than in Europe or America. But what use is this if you have saved some money in the end and suffer permanent physical injury?

This is a question EVERYONE should ask himself before a medical intervention in Thailand!!
There are many modern medical devices in this clinic and so this clinic makes a western impression at first.
However, the knowledge and training of doctors is obviously limited.

The Bumrungrad-Klinik is obviously a facility to generate a lot of money on its own, which is also the experience of many other evaluators at this point (higher costs for medication, wrong treatment, etc.).
As you can read in the reviews, simple illnesses have been treated wrongly, which concerns me now!

I'm personally giving you this good advice from my own experience with this clinic:
When planning a medical treatment, always take into account that in Thailand, the laws which protect patients from medical errors and regulate the legal consequences are predominantly absent or that a foreigner cannot find a consistent judge.
In the end, you can only try it in Thailand on the way of goodwill...

But if the clinic or the doctor turn deaf and dumb, as in my case? There is no legal remedy in Thailand!

A doctor in Thailand is always a "guru in white coat" from the point of view of the Thais and comes in place immediately after a Buddhist monk. Thus, nobody in Thailand will officially intervene against the mistake by a doctor.

A more extensive surgery in a clinic in Thailand is therefore a computational example, which often ends in a minus calculation due to my personal experience.
In the end, it can be quite possible that the total cost of medical treatment will be far higher than the total cost of medical treatment in your home country if you end up having to be treated again in the same matter in your home country.

A major medical intervention in Thailand can become an uncertain game of health for these reasons, which I personally had to experience live.
Conclusion: By no means the result to be expected according to the current state of modern western medicine and the sight lost for me. Blamed by this clinic !

Made a believer out of me as the worst hospital in Bangkok. Experienced a shooting pain in my foot from running and made an appointment to see Dr Winyou Ratanachai, only the hospital staff changed this to Dr Panya Wongpatimachai (only when I was pushed in my wheelchair into his office I realized they had done this without explanation???) What a joke this doctor was, looked at my foot and told me there was nothing wrong with it, sent me for an X-ray and told me there was a mild swelling of muscle tissue. Go home, ice, take anti-imflamatory medicine and go back to running when the pain goes away. Well 4 days of rest, ice and anti-inflammatory medicine and I still have the shooting pain when I walk. I have a hunch there is a stress fracture in the bone as the simple test (which the doctor did not do!!) is trying to hop on the painful foot, so will now fork out more money to go for an MRI and locate this fracture. Thank you for the wrong diagnosis Bumrungrad and robbing me of my money with impunity.

Well i guess there are the best doc's in the city in one building. But it needs a lot of improvment in time management. My last three visits for the doctor took in total 6min. I had to wait for the bill and cashier atleast 2hours. So you just sit and wait... Bumrungrad peferes CASH eventhough your insurance would take it all. But what makes this hospital unique are the prices for the medication. It is just hilarious.

This is a first-class hospital and where I would recommend anyone, including those who don't speak Thai, to go for any & all medical issues. The staff is extremely efficient and helpful, almost every doctor I saw there spoke fluent English & treated me with compassion & did their best to address all my symptoms in one visit. Even when I hadn't made an appointment to see a specialist, I was referred by another physician I was seeing there and within 15 minutes I was seeing another specialist. They are extremely thorough. As far as hospitals in Thailand go, it's probably the most expensive, however, if you're traveling & there's an emergency, this is the hospital you want to get to. If you are vacationing in Thailand, and you have any preexisting conditions, or plan on being adventurous, I would recommend getting Travel Health Insurance.

For all of you travellers, I just would like to share my extremely negative experience in this Hospital. During my stay in Bangkok I suddenly got a flu that cause me fever and a sore throat, resulting in a visit to Bumrungrad. A general practice Doctor unnecessary prescribed me three broad spectrum and very potent antibiotics that almost killed me. I felt all sorts of unpleasant sensations as result of the intake of these potent antibiotics. Moreover, I spent 400 euros for two appointments plus medicine! The truth is that I would like you to acknowledge that they do not care about you as human being or diagnose your problem carefully and properly. Actually, these people who appear to you as physicians, are just salesmen who want to prescribe as much as they can without considering anything so as to make the most profit for this so called Bumrungrad Hospital. Unfortunatelly, I was in Thailand - where everything may happen and the judiciary system fails for foreigners - and not in my country, otherwise I would file a lawsuit against these incompetent physicians and the Hospital. Their negligent and profit oriented practices cause me terrible side effects for a period of one year and a half.
For your sake, stay way from this hospital. Avoid it if you can.

Just don't go there. Avoid at all cost! It is very scary. They will take your money. Especially kidney Doctor Sira Sooparb, Assistant. Prof. Dr. Vachai Srimuninn and his management team work together to make your money go away like a black magic. They really don't care what patient and patient family request. I wish those doctor who took advantage of patient would not have bad KARMA coming back to haunt them back.

My daughter got sick and had a fever on Monday. Thanks to the friends who responded for help. I went to Bangkok's Kangmin Hospital for treatment on Wednesday afternoon. This is the place where we met a Chinese aunt on the pattaya-banhkok bus. The five-star private hospital is really quite advanced, with a high rate of medical care, and kind staff!

This hospital is near nana station. First go to the information station on the first floor and say that you need a Chinese interpreter. The counter will call a Chinese-speaking person. Please go to the 10th floor to write a consultation form. Remember to bring your passport. ! After filling out, we went to the pediatric department on the 17th floor and waited for half an hour (19 doctors in the same clinic saw) there was free water and soy milk to drink, and there was a children's play room, all ethnic groups, India, Arab, Blond man, really an international hospital!
At the consultation, I accompanied the interpreter to communicate with the doctor. The doctor was very kind, but because the daughter had burned for two days, she had a fever today. The doctor said that she was active and said that if she burns again, she will draw blood again tomorrow!

Important, this costs 1,400 yuan, we have a diagnosis certificate and receipt, and return to Taiwan to apply for a health insurance refund

Recommend this hospital, good service! For reference experience of version friends, thank you!

Bumrungrad Hospital is excellent place for a general checkup. Also for advanced treatment. They almost have all the department specialities. They are known for medical tourism. Also ideally located with most of the services around. They have shuttle service from the airport. And have their counter at the airport as well.

Be prepared to wait around here the whole of the day. That being said you get most of what you need, including consultation and testing done the same day. Surgeries usually scheduled for next day or day after. So all in all you will spend a fraction of time then you would mired in the US system. The hospital and clinic were as good or better then any US facility and better staffed. Yes better! As for the price.. my surgeries would have cost $72000+ in the US. Total bill at Bumrungrad $9400 all meds and hospital stay included. That's a holy crap savings. Outcome of multiple throat surgeries all done at same time was excellent. And to boot they send you home with all your records including imaging on CD. Stay very nice. Highly recommend! Interesting though how polarized the reviews for this place are. Maybe the US health care industry is worried? They should be.

So organized, clean and efficient. I was blown away by how professional, educated and detail oriented all the staff were. It was the nicest hospital I have ever seen in the world. They even have a fantastic food court serving Indian food, Thai food, fruits and salads for the same prices you would find at a cheap restaurant in the area.
The hospital service was really expensive, so I hope you have insurance or a credit card. But you get what you pay for, it's your health. It's an amazingly clean hospital, 300 percent better than my experience in other southeast Asia counties or especially China.

Due to a motorbike accident I had a deep and large wound on a top of my foot that was infected. I want to Bumrungrad because of the reputation. The building was impressive, modern, clean with Starbucks !!!! Inside. Turned out not to be relevant to the treatment. I asked how much it is going to cost and at the reception and the front desk both they said that the doctors visit is 1000-2000 bhat. I waited an hour to see Dr. Avtar Singhsachthep, he took a photo of the wound and nurses under his supervision dressed it worse than in any government clinic before. I thought it was just till I see the infections doctor so he can look at it as well. But the infection doctor looked at the photo, prescribed some antibiotics and sent me on my way. By then I had spent 3 hours at the hospital and when received the bill for over 8,000 Bhat including the medication. I didn't purchase the antibiotics and paid 5,054 Bhat. Medical supplies I.e. The flimsy dressing, which by then was coming off cost exactly 1,049 Bhat. I went home none the wiser about what I'm supposed to do next. So, in my experience they are overpriced, uncaring and unskilled.

Be very cautious - the hospital will make you take more than necessary despite still within safety limits. I was told to take 5 rabies shots but when I checked with a doctor in Germany regarding my case, he said I shouldn't have taken even one.

The emergency room couldn't care less about me as my case isn't serious enough, but it appears that I was placed there so they could charge an extra fee for "Emergency Room Charges."

Also worth to note that I got charged different amount in total for all 5 shots. The cost of the vaccine was the same but the extra charges differ from day to day.

It's expensive, inattentive and - worst of all - fraudulent.

My grandmother was recently hospitalized in this h...

My grandmother was recently hospitalized in this hospital. She had been a regular patient of kidney doctor Doctor Sira.
What I have learned is that this hospital is solely a business operations, with no regard to human relations. Several times my grandmother and parents and uncle's and aunts have gone to this since they were referred by a friend.
Many elder people are unable to speak english fluently and trusting of the doctors in this institution.

Inigially regular visits were cordial enough but there were many unnecessary and duplicate tests ordered by the doctors. Worst of all in the beginning of 2018, Bumrumgrad apparently had a accounting software change, which at the time of billing will include extra charges for services never done. This was done in 2 occasions over the course of 3 months. One time the staff said that, even with accounting error, will not refund the extra charge and if my parents do not pay, she will not hand over the medications. This is unacceptable in such a international hospital. To say that accounting error cannot be undone and that medications will be withheld without remedying the invoice is similar to extortion. The excess charge was around $1500. The second time, was more fortunate because my brother was there and he could argue against the staff in English, and only then they fixed the account. Seems like the staffs dgaf if the patients are old and look like unable to cause trouble or commotion.

The last time around was the worst treatment of a hospital care I've encountered. There was a team of doctors that was treating my grandmother. There was no care for the patient's privacy or no sympathy towards the patient. There were treatments that could've been made easier for my grandmother, but they appeared to be undertaking their task as a routine work to make money other than to give care. Numerous prescriptions were recommended by doctors including local herbal medicines at unheard of prices, which given the time and the situation, we could not refuse in fear of doctors giving lesser treatment or attention which they did anyway. Doctors are similar to kicking a man when he's down. They were are impatient to answer questions: only appeared to extract as much monetary gain from the patient one last time as possible. I'm disappointed about this hospital as the only face they care about is the face of money. Cost was usd200k for 20days care. Smh
10/10 will not recommend.

All in all the hospital appears to be first class - with a quick and easy registration department and state-of-the-art facilities. My only qualm was the incredibly high price. I receive injections to the neck for occipital neuralgia. My most recent injection (in the United States and without insurance) cost $200. A doctor assistant estimated the procedure at Bumrubgrad would cost 8-10x that amount ($1,600 - $2,000).

Thus, the hospital appears to be top-notch but at least with respect to some procedures such quality seems to come at a very high cost.

Medical level and customer attention during the di...

Medical level and customer attention during the diagnosis and communication with the customer are remarkable, but has a big opportunity on improvement on two big areas:
1. Insurance department has very poor communication about wht the insurance will cover anf how much it will represent an out of your pocket, usually we just realize what the insurance will not cover, at the moment of the payment, more soecifically in my case that i based my criteria to buy my insurance policy to cover all.my exoenses in jospital (not cheap option), believe me, it is a very disappointing surprice at the moment of payment, I would really appreciate the insurance department at hospital, be a lot more informative about any insurance limitation or different deal with this specific hospital, my recommendation to the guests, do not accept any additional charge unless it was explained to you by the insurance department, and you agree with it, do not sign blanck checks.
2. I've been interviewed by more than 5 nurses and two respectful doctors, all of them made a note that I was a diabetic person, and as soon as i checking in hospital, for surgery, my surprise , the dinner was PASTA!!!, I think there is a big gap between all the information on the system and the nutricionist. It must be improved.

Went there for a shoulder problem. My first visit was really just to find out how the system works. It works fast. Within the first hour, I'd seen the doctor twice, had x-ray s and was scheduled for an MRI. Two days later I had the MRI. I found the care to be outstanding, and I never felt like I was being milked.

I have Blue Cross insurance, which works fine here. Even though this is the most expensive hospital in Thailand to see the doctor on follow-up visits never reached the level of the deductible.
