Fancy building. Overpriced medicine and many hospital fees. At my second appointment, I was asked to do two tests, after that doctor told me that I have to continue taking medication without even waiting for the tests results.

My Son 16 year old was hospitalized for 3 weeks and then operated for crohn desease. Now he is fine. I have to say that the level of treatments and doctors preparation is very high. The Price is also but when you are talking about health care money comes after. It is not a perfect hospital you need always to be there and talk to the doctors and take the right decision with their help.

A little known department at Bumrungrad is the Business Center and Visa Extension department. Located on the 10th floor of the New building expats and medical tourists can use these services to avoid the long drive to Thai Immigration services.

The staff are very competent and extremely friendly; they assist in filling out paperwork and submit to Thai Immigration.

I dropped off my passport yesterday and was told I could pick up the next day! Unfortunately I was in a hurry and forgot to get my change; however, on my way home I received a call reminding me the clerk had forgotten to give me change before I walked away. So today when I returned for my passport, the staff again apologized and returned the money.

This is a very convenient service for expats close to Bumrungrad and is only 600 Baht.

If that's not goid enough, there is a Starbucks coffee shop on the same floor!!

AWFUL INSIDIOUSLY rapacious place. If you have insurance, and it pays for everything perhaps maybe (maybe) OK. The administrators and all the doctors lie about the price, everything eventually is twice the quote, and the quote is twice everywhere else. Absolutely POSSIBLY the worst hospital experience ever if you are self-pay. If it s out of pocket go anywhere else first because the quote they give you will mean nothing and they will hold you hostage for whatever fun they come up with. Not joking, you have been warned ... quadruple the cost of competent places nearby, no better, just nicer couch.

I have just been on the telephone to Bungmungrad Pulmonary Centre telephonist. ( The number on the Pulmonary webpage It is 11-00 am on Friday 30th January ) The standard of service was incredibly good. It is my first contact with Bunmungrad ever. Within a few moments the lady telephone contact centre had all my details and understood my problem. She made an appointment for me on the day I wanted and gave me directions to the building within the hospital gounds.
Well done Bunmungrad. I am so impressed having been a former UK National Health Service employee.

Thank you

Keep in mind that in addition to over-charging patients in numerous other ways, Bumrungrad tries the currency converter scam during payment, common in businesses the world over that cater to oblivious tourists. NEVER charge to your home currency, always charge in Baht when using a credit or debit card in Thailand.

As an Expat living in Thailand for the last six ye...

As an Expat living in Thailand for the last six years I have used Bumrungrad hospital for all types of medical services including major surgery. The average cost of procedures here vs in the USA is 20-40% of what you would pay in the USA. The medical services and care are outstanding, the administrative services such as registration, billing etc. are far and away better than any facility anywhere in the USA. Its a fact that Microsoft was so impressed with their in house developed software suite that they purchased it for their own use, thats a pretty good indication of its value.

So if I limit the review to just medical testing, procedures and surgery etc. it is a full five stars *****

So why just three stars......

For the past 20 years I have been using the Mayo Clinic for my annual comprehensive executive physical. This year I moved that exam to the Bumrungrad program and my experience was both excellent and poor. When it came to the initial consultation and all of the testing I found the program more comprehensive and far more efficient than the Mayo program for 20% of the cost. Their efficiency was unbelievable, it was like a production line, never once was idle time wasted throughout the entire process. This unfortunately showed me the worst of the Bumrungrad system.

The Mayo system is designed around holistic health care, it begins with a consultation that last 20-60 minutes and the physician asks many questions about work, family, health, feelings etc. The idea is to develop a risk profile of the patient that may show how lifestyle are affecting health etc. Then the battery of tests begin and then the final consultation is made with further recommendations.

At Bumrungrad the process is nearly identical except it is a very specific check the boxes, mechanical approach, efficient and production oriented. Never was I asked if I felt bad, had any ailments, was under stress etc. My lifestyle and symptoms have me at a very high risk for heart disease but this was never picked up because the questions were never asked. If the test does not show a problem basically thats it, nothing else to discuss. I had some muscle and nerve weakness that I wanted to discuss, I was even seen at Bumrungrad earlier about it but it was never brought up and the doctor was clearly unwilling (i tried) to engage in any idle conversation not related to his production process. I'm really series when I say I felt like a well treated slab of bacon moving down a very efficient production line.

So zero stars for leaving out an extremely important human element of medical care when doing a comprehensive physical.

It was foreseeable that it will hit me someday - and if it should be worth it, so a Thai mosquito has thought I would be the right candidate for the dengue fever.

I can tell you, this is not a nice affair - in addition to a very high fever and all sorts of other symptoms, the most unpleasant thing was the pain in the limbs - that is why the whole thing is popularly called the bone breaking disease.

We had the choice between the Bangkok Hospital and the Bumrungrad in Bangkok and decided on the latter. The supply was good, the service friendly, multilingual and the doctors were generally international.

The room was spacious and clean - which I hardly noticed because of the fever and the medication the first days.

Unfortunately this was not so great with the addition of Saline (against dehydration) - within a week these were redefined five times - I felt like a Schweitzer cheese.

The food was really cruel in the Bumrungrad, everything read well - but then what was arrived was hardly edible ... even the simplest things. In addition, the food was extremely expensive and if you ordered breakfast for example, you always had to pay all three daily meals - whether you wanted it or not.

The one week Bumrungrad was very expensive - the whole cost much more than for example the stay in a five star apartment in the Grand Mercure ASOKE.

Next time we'll stop by the Bangkok Hospital - the prices should be more accurate - let's see and stay healthy!

Today I had the worst experience i have ever had with a Doctor. Cold, insensitve and very cold hearted with zero patient skills.
I went to Bumrungrad hospital Bangkok this week to see about having an operation done there. Today I had to get a pre assessment done before I had the general anesthetic as i am overweight.
I had seen a few Dr s and nurses in the space of a few hours and they were all fantastic, I had asked if i could see a Dr as i had some questions to ask and wanted to check if I could take my regular evening medication, and hopefully make me feel a bit more comfortable about my surgery scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Well I was wrong I was sent to see at the end of all my tests a Dr Pattama Rimmakunsup(Medicine) and from the second myself and my friend walked into her office she was the single most unprofessional Dr I have ever seen. I sat in the wrong seat she said you move there, very rudely, and never said hello even though we greeted her, it was as if she was angry we were there. She started by saying you have diabetes, I said my glucose has been high before and fluctuated she said you have diabetes. Very rudely. Then she asked what medications i take and i started to explain to her but she kept cutting me off mid sentence, and never once did she lift her head to look at me directly and every time she added something to the list she would give a sigh. So after a few minutes I politely said I came here for you to make me feel better and reassure me, she turned around and said well obviously I can t help you so go see somebody else, and pushed the paperwork away to her assistant as if to say get lost!!! I said simply because i ask you to be a bit nicer you say this, she said I don t know what you are talking about so you better go see someone else I am just doing my job. My friend said to her you could be nicer about the way you explain to people he is scared of the surgery and you speak like this, she said to him so now you are threatening me I don t want to see you anymore I obviously can t help you even though I am just doing my job and have done nothing wrong. This is a bad experience that is a blight on your hospital, if this is her level of patient empathy she needs to get another job as she is a disgrace to treat patients who need reassurance this way..

The staff is litle bit unfriendly ...
Demotivated to help , personally i used severals hospitals here in Bangkok and in general are more helpful.
That Hospital is more expensive than average private one " witch is not necessary a problem " but from my point of view the managing should follow and prepare better staff and make it more cooperative !!
If you don't live really close , you have other choices you will get also good Doctors at other similar Hospitals but probably with more smiling and friendly staff .
You will also make save to your insurance good amount of money .

Good place to go. We come from first world country but still the experience and the service is good. The cost wise is expensive for Thailand but I guess the service provided is justified for. Anyway it s a nice place and friendly service. Have to make prior appointment otherwise very hard to get things done.

The hospital appears to have great facilities which is why I have given one star.
I went to emergency at 3am with crippling stomach pain, no appetite for days and inability to sleep properly for a week. I had been diagnosed and treated with a stomach parasite in another country.
The dr literally laughed at me, several times for thinking the parasite may not have been dealt with the first time.
The dr also prescribed me medicine I had told him I was allergic to more than twice and had written on two forms.
He initially refused any laboratory tests until I asked for a different Dr. He then ordered several samples to be taken and after I had returned to my hotel discovered that only one had been checked.
The whole experience cost me over 4,000 Baht.
The pharmacist screamed at me repeatedly for refusing to take the medicine I am allergic to. The cashier was too busy on his social media to serve me. I was the only person in that area.
Save your money and health. Go elsewhere.

The first time, I started feeling bad about the traffic jam in front of the hospital. The entrance is small. Must have waited staff. After going to the parking lot 2 in the back. Try to park P2 because there is a link to the main building. When entering and registering, it is a little bit slow because there are only 2 channels. Last but not least, the staff are courteous and attentive to the people who use the service. It makes me feel better.

My first experience was disappointing horrible, even if you go to the culture help desk at 10 floor. They all care about your money and no help at all. We have all the test result from other private hospital, all we want is to discuss with the doctor and talk about the price for surgery, you don't expect us with over 950000 baht inside our pocket immediately. We are willing to pay for every service for discussion with doctor but staff have no idea what they have to do or no procedure what so ever disappointing .

Great hospital, excellent service and state-of-the art facilities but oh so pricey! Thank god for my work insurance or I would have had to pay a big amount. Doctor spoke excellent English, by the way. Friendly nurses but their English wasn't always so great. One spoke Chinese though.

Good value overall but VERY pricey prescriptions. (You may find better value at other places in Thailand, but paying marginally higher for the brand may worth it, especially if you are far away and don't want to do a lot of research.)

The hospital provides US standard care with far better customer service at 50+% cheaper cost. If you have high deductible insurance or must pay out of pocket, worth considering taking a holiday to Bangkok for medical service here. Your savings may covers the trip.

Be careful with its prescription though. I got a prescription here that costs over US$100. After some research and discussion with the doctor, l learned that I could get the same drug in the US over the counter for 60% less.

So ask your doctor for generic--which the hospital pharmacy may not carry--or alternative options. If the drug is pricey, do some research and consider taking prescription to other pharmacies in BKK.

US Thai embassy website typically has a listing of recommended health service facilities in each country.

The place is beautiful, but their prices are very expensive compared to Saudi Arabia. The doctor has the price of the examination and the reception has a price to write your data, and the nurse has a price, not treatment, and the value of the service.

It s quite organized, and staff are helpful and nice. But they advertise the Check-Up takes between 4-6 hours and it actually took 7 hours for me. And also on the e-mail they sent me confirming the appointment, they informed all reports would be ready in 3 days in my e-mail, but for my surprise it takes 2 weeks for the check-up program. For the price we pay, I think they should do a better job with the proper information.

Over priced, paid $650 USD for x-rays and for them to put a temporary cast on my broken foot. They quoted me 980,000 baht to get the surgery needed, which is about 27,000 USD. This would cost about 15,000 USD in the United California. They also wanted to keep me in the hospital for 2 days for a broken foot and tried to charge me $400 USD for a cat scan which was not needed for a broken foot. I got my foot put in a temporary cast and x-rays done with an emergency ride to the hospital for $65 USD in Pai when I broke my foot on a motor bike the day the accident occurred. The facility is nice but similar to hospitals back home in the states.

It's an international hospital in Bangkok. I had been here at several times for supporting others and also two times for myself.
It's really very well organized and disciplined managed hospital. You can ask the primary information from the entrance main hospital information desk. They will suggest you everything in a proper way and in point. They'll also suggest you about the specialist doctors at your requirements.

For the foreigners, they'll do your hospital card, which you can use lifetime! All of your information will store for their future reference.
I found the doctors are really professional and very much helpful. They will explain your problem in details and if you don't want to do your further treatment from here, they are not going to force you! Rather, they'll suggest you the contemporary treatment according to your country.
However, the treatment cost is really very much expensive. Also, the doctors visit is expensive as well.

But, in my honest opinion, I recommend Bumrungrad to consult with the specialist doctors firstly, to know about your actual physical problem. It's really worthy because they will tell you/diagnose the actual reason/ solutions. You can decide whether you can take treatment from here or from another hospital. These doctors and staffs are really helpful and professional.

Pre-surgery check up was efficient and completed in one day. Insurance coverage was also obtained quickly without delay. The Knee Surgeon was professional and confident and I was also very pleased with the anesthiologist, who gave me the various options prior to the surgery and made sure I was comfortable throughout (best and most kind anesthiologist I have encountered ever!). Nursing service after the operation was professional, but there were occassional linguistic challenges. Some nurses had a high level of English language competence, others spoke well, but had much weaker listening/comprehension skills, which exasperated me at times. In-patient physio team was amazing, but once I was released I was not equally pleased with the outpatient team as it had a less caring and patient-focused approach. I really just felt like a number there. The 2-3 weeks outpatient experience was paper-work intensive. Instead of a comprehensive program (project) plan with one invoice, I got charged for every little item and was asked to continuously go to the cashier's office. That was stressful and could have been delivered more client-centered, in particular since I later found out the hospital could have billed my insurance for post-hospital care. Also some of the charges after the surgery seemed excessive, really expensive, such as close to $50 for changing a dressing, and rather than a flat fee for physiotherapy to get these itemized list of charges such as "10 minutes of instructions" and "icepack." So a bit of a mixed experience, but still a good hospital when compared with the US.

Great hospital. Great doctors who take time to really make sure that they know what's wrong with you before they treat you. They can explain things to you in English which is especially nice if you're living outside of Bangkok Phuket or Chaing Mai, used to going to hospitals and clinics where no one except the doctors really speak any English at all. Some people complained about having to wait a long time here.... But compared to the wait that you'd have at the States or in almost any public hospital in Thailand there really was no wait.

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!

AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Avoid at all costs. Complete rip off joint aimed at insured medical tourists.

Had 2 routine check-ups here - both ridiculously overpriced.

The first check up I was charged almost 10 times - yes, 10 times - the amount I was charged at a clinic the year before.
When I questioned it, the 'guy' (I wouldnt call this idiot a doctor) suddenly said he ''made a mistake'' and knocked 30% off the bill. This was after a nurse had quoted half the original bill before I had the check-up! Absolutely shocking.

Then after I left the 'guy' emailed me suggesting I required a vaccination which they could provide (shameless sales pitch). This was not only inaccurate as I knew I already had the vaccination a few years back, but it was also clear on my medical report that THEY provided that I was vaccinated.
Again, absolutely shocking.

The second check up I was charged over 30,000thb for ultrasound and a blood test. No warning at all from any of the staff that it would cost that.
I've since been told it would cost a THIRD of that at some of the other international hospitals in Bangkok. Again, absolutely shocking.

There should be a system in place to clearly notify patients of the costs beforehand, or at least notification if it's going to cost anymore than say 10,000thb.

I issued a complaint via their website and ticked the box requesting a response. I received nothing.
I chased the complaint 5-10 times via email and called too - again, nothing.
I gave them a chance to respond, to apologise, to reimburse but unsurprisingly - as there was no money to be made from that - they ignored it all.

This place is not a hospital or a medical facility - just a sales room full of clowns. Zero concern for patients wellbeing with extreme focus on sales and profit.
So many other hospitals in Bangkok that are much better and much cheaper.

I've also heard they submit fake positive reviews to counter all the genuine bad reviews. That wouldnt surprise me with this lot.

You have been warned.

I have been there more than 5 times in the last 10 years thinking was the best hospital in Thailand . The place is clean and service efficient when it comes into bookings and appointments. Perhaps good in latest tehconolgy when a study is needed. BUT when it comes into doctors. is really not good. All the times i had to fly back home to sort the problem. I would NOT RECOMMEND this hospital .

I m very disappointed with the service of this hospital, I had such a terrible experience and got charged 16 108 bht when I got told it would only be 6 000 bht. I got sent to two doctors who did not help with any of my symptoms. Now besides all this which I have already complained about, I paid half of my fees on the day then wanted to pay the rest via internet banking. I emailed twice and got no reply emailed a third time and finally got a reply then on the 7th of July I got an email telling me to pay fees of which I did. I then got a reply that I overpaid and they made a mistake so I will be refunded. It s now the 17th of July, I have not been refunded and two emails I sent asking about my fees on my account (if they are all settled) because I was confused and got emailed from two different people about paying so I wanted to be sure I was done paying whatever I had to pay in order to cut all ties with the hospital. Again still have been refunded or gotten an explanation as to what is happening.

A wonderful and cheap hospital in which all medical specialties have a pharmacy and the drug is a little expensive, but the operations are a little expensive, it is close to the Pakistani embassy and close to Nana Street or Arab Street close to hotels, restaurants and transportation, and it has great doctors and there are translators and if there are translators ask for a translator obligated to that and treat the workers wonderful There is a very careful system, and the treatment experience was very successful, especially the comprehensive examination. I advise everyone who wants to go to it and treatment

"Do not go to this hospital or be careful about a doctor! I came this hospital for my weakness, dizziness, everyday headache , sweating complaints. Dr Boonrawd Lecksiwilai was my doctor. ( general doctor ) I showed him my head . I have swelling on my head and it hurts . He said that it is a tension headache. I said " are you sure " . And he wanted to check my blood because 10 days ago mosquitoes bite me and I have allergy to mosquitoes. He didn't even ask me that if I use and medicine or if I have story of sickness in the past . He didn't even check my head or my throat or my chest. He just said " take the blood test " I did . He couldn't find anything there . But I already paid 8.385 baht already!!!!! For Doctor and test . One of the test for hormones ( that was what I want extra) so normally doctor and test fee is 5000 baht !!!! Today I paid extra 1500 baht for Doctor again for the results of the test . My diagnosis is "cervical lymphadenitis" for now . He didn't even check my ear . Maybe I have ear infection who knows ! He gave me pills . He didn't give me any prescription because he wanted me to buy from hospital pharmacy! Do not buy from there ! Your pill will cost you double!
Please do not believe other comments pay attention. I shared this 3 months ago and after me , people shared with 5 stars. Be smart don't waste your money

I made a reservation two days ago, but no one says that it will run out of time ...
On the day of the checkup, there are so many people that this test is made to wait every hour for an hour ...
It's the end of the month. Then you shouldn't be telling me ...
It is a hospital that accepts reservations without delay because the work has been slow. Even after making a reservation, wait 2 hours from the reservation time and start blood pressure measurement. It's late.
It's not a pub, but if you come full of competence,
It is said that there are some skilled doctors, but the hospital system ...
As long as you laugh, I know you are kind and unconditional.
Serious illness ... or no reason to come. I'm going to another hospital too.
Despite being expensive, the reason for going is less crowded. It's great.
Oh yeah. There are so many people in the Middle East.

And an interpreter ... If you're lucky, come ...
The interpreter is more friendly at the Sumitet Hospital.

And the basic health check is 20,000 baht, but it's really basic. There is a more detailed test .....
For example, colonoscopy 53,000 baht. 53.000 Baht

My family had an urgent medical matter and I was referred to Bumrungrad hospital as the leading hospital with English speaking highly qualified doctors. I found the hospital impressive. However although our doctor spoke English, he was not very responsive to our questions and I am not sure if this was due to lack of understanding or just being in a rush. The medical treatment seemed moderately expensive but less than a US private hospital. Unfortunate, the hospital would not accept our US insurance. If I had had more time I would do more research about the doctors. However this trip it was not possible due to time constraints.

Great hospital, fast and excellent service. Most staff speaks good clear english. In less than 2 hours I registered as a new patient, passed the initial tests (temperature, blood pressure, etc.) saw the doctor, had my prescription, paid, got my meds and was on my way back home. Only cost me around 230 $ CAD for the whole ordeal, which is probably what the meds themselves would have cost before insurance payback AND i didn't have to wait 14-28 hours like in Canada to see the doctor.

Knocking off one star because AFAIK they only have one type of ATM on premise and it doesn't work with my debit card, had to use my credit card.

Would go again

An extraordinary establishment. From Registration through to discharge, I was blessed with unimpeachable service, kindness and expertise. A VERY difficult and dangerous infectious complaint took 8 days with 5 specialists in attendance. Housed in a single-bed, comfortable, suite, nurses checked me every 30 minutes, 24/7.

Absolutely impressive. I understood at the time it was in the world's Top Ten hospitals, and understandably, but I don't see it in the top 100 in this website. I experienced years before, Bangkok Hospital, which was excellent, but it didn't match Bumrungrad.

I did my full medical checkup here on Friday(with prior appointment). It was really amazing 5 stars experience and here are the positive things about this hospital
-Free transportation for the patients from Bangkok international airport to the Hospital or hotels nearby.
-Professional and enough staff available to help you.
-Amazing ambience, clean, decorated like a 5 stars hotel!!
-It took around 4 hours to complete the whole checkup including meeting the Doctor for the results (written report will get after 2 days)
-If you speak Arabic, this is best place for you as they have translators and some staff knows some Arabic words.
-open mini-buffet included if you take the medical checkup.

Here are the only 2 negatives
-This hospital prices are high compared to other hospitals in bangkok. But it worth it as you will feel at home!! Clean, helpful and always smiling and welcoming staff!! Well organized place.
-It takes more waiting time at the x-ray and ultrasound, however, it is mentioned that the whole checkup takes around 4 to 6 hours. It took 4 hours.

Five stars to the best hospital I have ever been!!!

The employees are ordinary Thais, not particularly high-level. Examination costs are terribly expensive. (I apply insurance)

Came to the hospital with a friend who had a sore throat and the treatment she received was top class. Everyone from the greeter, nurses, doctors and cashiers was helpful. The process of onboarding as a new client was super smooth.

Would recommend this hospital to anyone who needs medical attention in Bangkok.

The free shuttle only pick up @ BTS Nana and Hyyatt hotel on suk 13 (don't know how much the hotel paid for the shuttle to make a stop) the shuttle rather go back to hospital empty than picking up patients waving on the the route back to hospital!
With over a dozen of elevators only couple of them working to transport patients to their appointments, often jam packed!
On the bill, the hospital charge for hospital facility that some patients don't even get to use it! Such as shuttle service, and inactive elevators.
For a world renowned private hospital, it's quite unreasonable to charge much more expensive than public hospitals in Thailand!

Extremely expensive. Over 10x the cost I was expecting. They wanted to give me 6 rabies shots and a tetanus shot for $1,670 (55,000 baht)! They said the government hospital should be at least half the cost. My friend in Russia said it would be 2-3 shots for $100 max there. They charged me $27 for the price quote and took 1.5 hours of my time despite me not getting the expensive shots.
