I tried out the $40 lesson + rental + lift ticket - what a great deal! My kids did the learn to ski class as well - everyone had a great day! Bar is a little pricey, but overall this was a quality day for everyone!

Buck Hill is hard to rate. They are one of the two worst slopes in MN, but also one of two slopes in the metro. It is okay for a half day (3-hours), but I could never do a full day here. It is better for snow boarding compared to skiing and better for Jr and Intermediate level. As a fairly advanced skiier this is not the place for me.

Fantastic experience. Everything from the rentals, lesson, runs & features, lifts, dining was superb! If I was gonna live here longer, I would get a season pass and come all the time. Heard they are on sale in the prior summer for 1/2 off.

Very nice place. It has everything, from tiny little beginners, to the more pro hills. We went as a group and it was awesome. Late in the afternoon a bunch of little kids arrived, which made it less fun.

To keep it short, I ve been there and I ll definitely do it again! The quality is amazing, and so much fun for all ages. One problem: when I got got hurt and fell down trying hard to get up, no staff has helped me at all, I had to go to Urgent Care. If you get hurt easily I absolutely positively don t recommend it.

Get there early to tube
Neat moving sidewalk to the top but the two hours runs out quick standing in line

We went for tubing and it was great fun. We took 2 hours package which cost around $18 per person. There is camp fire and I used to spend few minutes after each ride to keep warm. Just make sure you go to little far lines for tubing once you off the escalator otherwise you will end up just staying in line for longer duration. (This is only the reason for 4 stars and I expect management to take of proper queue management otherwise everyone need to analyze which line is fastest instead of enjoying the rides)

This was my first time at Buck Hill, and it was for a charity event. It looked pretty fun, with a good amount of different things to do. Not quite sure of the food and drink options, but was a fun time. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Really fun skiing mountain that doesn't require a long trip from the cities despite not being a big place and doesn't have as many slopes as other bigger ski resorts.
It can get really busy in nice weather weekends, because it's located inside the greater Twin Cities area but fun place nevertheless.
Snow tubing is a fun relaxing activity here.

What a fun place to check out at Buck Hill .....I took my Grandkids out to Cracker Barrel today for lunch and then we drove up to Buck Hill so they could see it!!
We went into the Chalet and there were all kinds of areas for the Skiers to sit and rest and sit by a Fireplace, there was also a Snack counter with lots of good foods to purchase and pretty reasonable.
They had some benches for the Skiers to sit on and some of the lights were shaped out of snowboards and some of the counters were shaped out of skis!!
My Grandkids loved running outside and started running up part of the Hill, there are many large Hills and Slopes out there and I was really surprised to see it in the Summertime!! :)
Buck Hill was really a Charming place...an old fashioned Chalet!!
Lindsey Vonn learned to ski here and lived in the area and as she started winning more races she moved out West toTrain!!
They also have Summertime Concerts here!!

I have had a couple horrible experiences with buck hill. The first was when I was getting on a chair lift with two other people, right as the chair was about to leave the ground my ski got caught under a chunk of ice and tilted the chair forward so all of us fell off. The lift operator just stared at us without stopping the lift. Then he got mad at the next people in line for not trying rossow get on and ski right on top of us! The second bad thing is when I broke my arm trying to snowboard, my first time, the front of my board got caught and I fell, broke my arm, and got a concussion. All with in view of a tow rope operator. That operator didn't do anything, what a surprise, I then tried to walk down the hill to go get my dad to drive me to the emergency room, I was 13 at the time, but then the tow operator yells at me that I can't leave a rental on the hill. So I have to walk down half the hill while holding my broken arm and trying to kick the board down and when I am almost down the magic carpet operator yells at me that I can't just push the board down the hill. Buck hill is a triple place to ski or board and I do not recommend going to it. Spend the extra some to go to welch village.

Came back to visit family and just had to come to Buck Hill for Hot Cocoa with them.

There is an additional lift, belt pull and of course the powder is beautiful!!

I am having great memories of trying to ski, lots of falling and seeing awesome tricks off the mound while I watch a new generation of snowboarders and skiers zip through the snow. I can't wait to try again! The lift specials are great and affordable and it's a wonderful way to get in a workout!

For the Twin Cities, it is about as good as it going to get. It is not called Buck Mountain fir a reason, but there's nothing they can do about that. It has a good terrain park or two depending on when it is in the season, good events and competitive fairs. Strongly reccomend taking advantage of the sunday night specials to end the weekend off strong!

A great bang for the buck, no pun intended.

A great bang for the buck, no pun intended.
Friendly staff, nice variety of runs, and competitive prices. Awesome tubing hills too. The bar and restaurant called Black Diamond has great food and a decent beer selection. The cafeteria has good food as well.
