Baltimore in general is an absolute disaster when it comes to public water and sewer. If you value your paychecks, stay out of the city as it feels like public works always has their hands in your pockets. 60-70 dollars a month for water that we barely use because of fees and minimums is an absolute crime.
If you thought the Baltimore City Arrival of Public Works was something, wow do I have news for you. If you're looking for Human Resources, you'll find them anywhere else in the city besides upstairs.
After 12 attempts to contact someone in DPW about a water meter issue in Baltimore County, the only person to answer the phone told us to talk to Baltimore County. When we called back the person whose name we have, was not known to anyone and the only information provided was the number to the meter shake and nobody EVER answers that number or returns messages left. Perhaps a call to an attorney and Jane Miller can provide someone to answer a phone more than once and then disappear from the face of the earth.
Trying to start new water service. None of the choices work when you press the buttons. At the end of the recording a voice says, "No number chosen," no matter how many buttons you've pressed. Then the recording begins again on a loop. I wonder if they do this on purpose since they've been hacked with ransomware and they are just ignoring their customers.
Our organization has been trying to change the mailing address for several of our buildings for over 5 months with no resolution. I used the online contact form, emailed directly, and still received no response. I have yet to get an answer. When you call and opt to leave your number and be called back by an agent, it never happens. It is very frustrating that the water bills were held during COVID and then we were hit with a balloon bill. The city is going to raise our water rates yet again, and still we can't even get basic service (customer service) from the DPW. This department of the city is a disgrace to public accomodations.
why work here if you don't want to pick up the calls? i mean does anyone work here ? im on hold for an hr. this is the worst.
I have tried three times to have them change my mailing address and they still have not figured out how to do it. I have emailed, sent faxes, and called but they continue to send my bill to my old address. Each time, it takes a month to find out if they finally did it right. Such incompetence is stunning.
The water department of Baltimore City is so sorry !!!
Please please please a million times, repave McComas Street
Even they do not deserve one star. They deserves only very big anf FAT ZERO from me. McDonalds employees has much better service. Very rude, and unprofessional customer service.I am not sure what kinda customer service is there. I would never ever live in Baltimore city.
I've called in two times (11/28/18 and 11/29/18) and both times the representatives were very helpful and polite! I waited less than 1 minute to speak to someone. I'm new to Baltimore, and based on the past negative reviews I was putting off calling them. However I had a good experience!
They dump trash juice all over the city when collecting garbage. They break glass all over the street when collecting recycling. They don't properly manage their contractors who can do some really terrible work around Baltimore City. Absolutely no concern for the City or the residents they serve.
ZERO STARS... they overcharge me $300, tell me I have to get a plumber to inspect my home for leaks, I pay a plumber $150 to come out here and confirm no leaks in my home, its the main coming from the street, it has ants in the meter, THEY DENY IT... and tell me I need to just pay it. No accountability, No logic, (you can look at my bill history, TEN TIMES the average consumption, there's no way i used that much water!) someone needs to come in there and "drain the swamp"
Sitting on hold for 40 minutes and still no customer service representative. It is 9:30 Tuesday morning. NO EXCUSES to make a customer wait that long. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER PIECE OF REAL ESTATE IN THIS S_HOLE AGAIN.
The are lacked in their builfong and they dont amswer to the phone. There is no way of teaching them. Do they get paid because they don t deserve theirs money.
High water bill. City is broke and they are charging me over $200 for $15 of water. Rest is tax, infrastructure Free, management Free, stormwater Free, bay restoration. They are bunch of crooks.
I want to know how many people I am paying for who are NOT paying for water in this dirt hole of a city!
The answering system gives you options to press numbers....They do nothing. If you press a number that was not given to you as a option such as 0 for the operator it tells you that was not an option and disconnects you. Given the current Ransomeware issues we are trying to be understanding However, we have driven into the City twice( which takes all day given the wait times at the physical offices) to get the answers we need and to file the things we needed to however, we have been given the wrong information every time we go or call. This is ridiculous. It's a colossal waste of time and unprofessional.
How can my MONTHLY billing be higher than my QUARTERLY billing? How is that in any way possible? I am a single person living in my home, am very careful about how I use my water. Don't do laundry more than one timer per week, never run the dishwasher more than one time per week and DPW has sent me a monthly billing that exceeds my previous quarterly billing. This is just another example of how DPW can extract more money from city residents and think it will be OK. Looking to bring 10,000 residents into Baltimore City? You are working backwards.
Wow these ladies move a line fast, they all deserve a raise. I can t even get fast food as fast as they got me through the line.
On hold for 30 minutes and still was hold when writing this review. Someone actually picked up and put me back on hold 3-5 times. I will eventually write when I do finally get a human to try and help me. Finally after 31 minutes I got online with a real person. Beautiful
Have called about my bill for months (nearing a year). Always promised a call back but still have yet to receive a response and there is no other way to contact the department for assistance. This is a horrific way to treat tax paying citizens.

my 1st monthly bill has a billing date of 11/3/16 and a due date of 11/23/16, that only allows 20 days to pay the bill, less the time it took the bill to reach me via USPS - is this the new norm for the new billing? I would think a minimum of 30 days is allowed for bill payments. Current billing assumes residents will pay the bill as soon as it arrives. this is not always financially possible and creates a system for BCPW to charge unnecessary late fees!!!!
Northwests Bureau of Waste. 5 Stars.for Spencer Morgan.the best, Mr Marv thanks
I paid on average 40-63 a month(120-190) every 3months in water from 2013-2016. Since water bill went from every 3 months to monthly payments, I'm now now paying 90-140 a month. Thasts about double to triple the amount in cost.
