Had a lot to do in the snow. Various hills and such. My only complaint is the lines, and the sheer amount of people. It was chaos.

Good place for kids to learn. Friendly and helpful staff and instructors.
My friend and I visited the newly opened Buck 54 Bar Grill during the Grand Opening weekend & experienced GREAT Food, a Wide variety of Beverages served by well trained Servers while sitting on the beautiful New Deck. We relaxed listening and sometimes singing along to the Music
We were at Buck Hill with a large school group. The staff helped students with equipment efficiently and got kids on the slopes quickly. The instructors helped the kids learn the basics of skiing quickly. I very much recommend them for big group outings.
Great time skiing and Ken did a great job during our lesson!
Great place for skiing and snow boarding for people of any level of experience, prices are bit steep during weekends, go during weekdays or evening hours to get your moneys worth
Great place to go to learn how to ski and snowboard as the hill is really small. If you want more of a challenge just go to Afton for like $7 more. Great for kids but no variety and its 60% terrain park pretty much. I learned to ski here which was nice very short lines. But just go to Afton for the price alone.
amazing tubing hill and wonderful new years celebration will definitely do it again for 2021
What a great place to go skiing and tubing. The ski instructors are great. The hill is always in great shape and it's super close.
Great terrain park and hills for begginers and experts
What a waste this place is. It could be so much more. When it is snowing, it's packed. When it's not, they get money by filling the parking lot with local car dealers overage. If they were to invest the snow money, they could have year round income.
Solid place to skii. Not the newest or the fanciest, but plenty good enough to skii the day away.
I go here every year, usually with a group of friends and their kids. We go on Christmas Eve for their tubing hills. Great firepit keeps everyone cozy, and the lines to get up the hill are never too long. I think the entire facility is pretty decent if you want to get out and enjoy the slopes but don't want to travel too far.
Great hill for new skiiers. We spent all day with our kids, some got on the jumps, some stayed on the green hills. The Black Diamond is the place to get food and drinks, skip the classic chalet. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful, even considering it was March and these people have been working all winter!
Had a terrific time on the sledding hill. Fast lines.
Great whether a beginner or veteran skier. It also has a tubing hill for the less adventuress. Great for families! Also check out the Black Diamond restaurant while you are there.
Great grooming for such a small area and amazing food in the bar.
best for beginners in Ski or snow boarding - cheap and effective trainers. they guide you how to ski without the poles, unlike other ski resorts, which helps you learn faster and more effectively. the classes are very cheap in this side of the country. $39 you get rentals, lesson and lift tickets. good fun for kids with snowtubing as well.
We had so much fun snow boarding and skiing here. My 8 year old rides and I ski. It was a great time. Very friendly staff, awesome ski patrol. We were there in the evening over Christmas Break and the lighting was excellent. The hills were well groomed and not hard ice like most manufacturered snow hills in the midwest. Minneapolis received a fair amount of snow prior to us coming so the conditions were great. The restaurant also had great food and fast, friendly service.
tubing was great family fun.. i highly recommend it! however, i would recommend staying away from the food. my french fries were so old they turned back into a hard potato! the children they have working in the food area would rather stand around and joke with each other than provide actual customer service when asked for new fries or to switch them out for something. the pretzel was also super dried out no matter how much dipping sauce you used. the pizza was so over cooked no one dared try it. maybe if the kids had a babysitter the quality of food and service would improve.
Close to the cities and taller than most hills in MN. It's a great place for the family. Parking is free unlike the other place in the cities. Perfect for an after work ski.
Fun for the whole family, great place to learn to ski or board. Super fun to be able to take the magic carpet all the way to the top of the hill.
Spendy tubing hill but a blast! Great for kids and adults!
Great hill, amazing staff, and coming soon, summer skiing. Great job guys, amazing upgrades inside and out.
Great place to spend a day with the family. However, it can busy in a hurry and is pretty pricey.
Had a good time with snow tubing. Have try skiing some time.
It's a very nice place for begginers or experts in skiing or snowboarding, as it has different Hill levels to go down! There's also snow tubbing where all the family can enjoy! February 2019 prices are: $18 per 2 hours tubing, $29 per day (ski or snowboard), per person. If you need to rent equipment it's $29 per person.
Not Colorado, but probably the best place to get runs in if you live in Minneapolis.
Great place to teach a beginner. They offer lessons during the week (not crowded) as well as on weekends. Close to home so even if your not a beginner you can sneak out and get in a few runs too.
Very overrated. Wish they would honor the fact that Ski Challenge brings them a lot of income and wish they d honor it someway. Give us a discount or some sort of free pass.
Took my 5 children, my brother and niece there for there first snowboard experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the children. In just 2 hours we were able to make 10 runs on the easy slope.
Great place to drop your kids off for a day of skiing
I have always loved this ski hill and now they are adding year round skiing and food from Las Tortillas!
"Buck Bump" Pay for mountain resort skiing, but get the smallest slope you've ever seen.
Went to Buck Hill for All City's cyclocross race. Had a blast
They keep the hills in very good condition and make snow early as possible
It is my favorite thing to do when there is snow on the ground! I love snow tubing, and i havent tried skiing or snow boarding. They have concessions which include hot chocolate!! Its amazing for ALL ages! i absolutely love it!!
I just went to buck hill and there are some very simple ways to make this a better place. BE FRIENDLY!!!!! The staff is very unsocial, yes it's cold, if you hate your job, get a new one!!!! The hill is fine, the conditions are fine, it's all fine, the staff is NOT FRIENDLY. I was in line and the guy in front of me was knocked over by the chair lift and was on his back. The lift operator did NOTHING, didn't try to help or even stop the lift. How is that legal??? I lived in Colorado for years, the staff in CO is friendly, they talk to you, they ask how your day is going, they joke, they take care of you. Now I had a pass for 5 years in Colorado, I have one for Buck Hill now and it's simply sad how they treat you. I will say the kids hill is slightly better, but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, train your staff to talk to people and make them feel welcomed. It's a much longer drive, but if things don't change I'm getting a pass in Afton next year!
To make things final, we went to Tuckers to grab a bite at the end of the day. The lady working brought us food and two drinks and never came back. 45 minutes and I had to go ask the lady at the host desk for a manager, she told me the lady serving us was the manager. The manager sat behind the bar talking to another lady the entire time, never once asked how our food was, we had both glasses on the edge of the table so she know they were empty. She told us it was her birthday and maybe she was upset she had to work. Just a horrible experience and so frustrating that simply being friendly and helping people would solve all the problems.
I truly wish I didn't have a season pass to this place as I don't want to go back!!!
Would have gave 5 stars but that parking is something else.
Went tubing with boys. It was fun and good for ages 5+. I wish they had more light on the bottom of the hill and more warming space. Entrance for timing are on the far right
This place is a blast for tubing! They have a huge fire pit to warm up and a small place to grab a hot chocolate or coffer right next to the tubing hill. The chalet has a full menu and bar.
Great place, awesome hills, but usually a bit crowded.
Great recreation for the kids in the winter. I would recommend tubing for the family
Great local skiing, pricy though you are paying for the convenience having it local. Come early to bet the crowds and get a parking spot. It can get very crowded and hard to park.
2nd time in 1 week. Service as far as waiter was good. Food service very slow, got the wrong food, main course delivered way before appetizers. Some food was room temp. 1 cup of chili 1 hr 20 minutes with the cup half full. This will kill a new place
I would say the food is very good if they could only figure out getting it from kitchen to the table .
Great place to go winter and summer. The Black Diamond restaurant is a winner.
Great staff, especially fun, caring, and engaging lift staff!! Super convenient location, great food and super slopes makes Buck Hill an all around winner!!
Went here for a Christmas party. The party was great but the parking was ridicules! I won't go back just because of the parking
Winter in MN is too long, but you can make it so memorable by going and enjoying a ski ride at buck hill.
Great place for tubing, skiing and snowboarding. Emergency staff is quick to act when a situation arise
Great family fun for the price, but the ski school staff made this place remarkable. Kayla and Jeanne were very patient with our whole family and helped calm the fears of the first-timers in our group. Because of them, we were back for a second day less than a week later.
Buck Hill is very good for beginners that want to learn how to ski and snowboard. We took a private ski lesson with Patrick and he was fantastic.
I learned how to ski on this hill when I was a child and now my kid is. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice chalets. Great prices and hills.
A good ski place for central Minnesota. Rental equipment available. A variety of hills and lessons.
Well organized, pleasant place to ski with lots of energy into the sport. Plan ahead for activities.
Great place! Have come here since I was young. My school would take us here on skiing field trips. My family has skied here for since before I was a twinkle in my parents eyes. Was recently here for my cousins wedding reception. Great food, good service- quick and polite. We all enjoyed our time very much. Check out their private event planning!
Love this place if you needs somewhere local to ski... Great for my son's ski club.
