Good ski hill but nothing like skiing in the mountains or the hills up north. They are open basically everyday with the hills always groomed. If your a beginner or want to have fun for a hour or two its great but if you are going to spend more then a day skiing it will get old. Over all a great hill but if you are a advance skier here is not the best because you will get board when theirs only 7 real runs.

Got stuck on chairlift for 30 minutes.. also the hills for freestyle/rail riding hardly change and it's lacking at best. Hyland, here I come.

Wonderful experience with great variations of hills and difficulty. There are a few instructors that can help you out if your first starting. I would say the average payment is if you include food is $100 a person.

Close to twin cities and fun place to be with little kids for snow tubing..

Nice place to ski, rated 2 stars because my friend lost his skis here and the people there did nothing to help.

We did the beginner's special, our instructor Tom was great, very helpful and enthusiastic. Angie in the central shop was also a great help! Definitely coming back again!

Tubing is great and well run so little kids don't get run over.

Close to the cities, good place to ski if you don't want to drive far or don't have time to go further out of town. Prices are comparable to some of the other ski places that are further out of town and larger. Chair lifts move quickly enough that you don't spend too much time waiting; when I was last there the place was pretty busy but we seldom waited more than 2 chairs to get on the lift.

If I could give a zero I would... For 14 years I have driven past this place and for 14 years I have wondered why on earth they would pick the absolute worst times to make snow... Always during rush hour and this morning after a bad rain and snow storm with very high west winds... Way to cause more accidents and get people killed right before Christmas! Come on, use your brain and at least don't make the road worse in the middle of rush hour! Whoever makes that decision is either heartless or stupid! I love to ski, but on principal alone I'd never ever go to this hill!

We went on the homeschooling day. The people helping us get our rental stuff took extra time to make sure we had what we needed. The teachers were excellent and genuinely friendly. The slopes were smooth and safe.

Buckhill is the number one hill for park. If you are just going to go down the hill go to afton or welch. Great staff, quality jumps, good food (except mini donuts which are cold)

The skiing and snowboarding hills looked fine. But the snow tubing hill was quite dull.

I was there for my granddaughter for her very first skiing event with school. She was so excited!

Great place to go for downhill skiing and snowboarding! They offer rental skis and snowboards for all day. If you come here later in the evening, you can get a discount.

1st time on a snowboard and the beginner lesson were perfect. Great instructors made even just getting started fun.

Terrible! They always make snow during rush hour traffic. You would think they would be considerate of that!

It's a great lil spot to get in some r&r - MN winter style. As a matter of fact I hadn't been skiing [anywhere] for a few years and went yesterday evening...

The black diamond restaurant was amazing the food was great and I loved the theming and the tubing hill was a lot of fun.

Kind of pricey, but I appreciate the facilities and safety precautions.

Great place for Snow Tubing, Snow Bording and Skiing.

Parking lot is not large enough for facility. Tubing is fun but lines might be long.

Best ski hill to teach and enjoy skiing with your kids. Fantastic staff.

Rental boards for kids are complete garbage. They haven t been waxed or sharpened in what appears to be years. Yet, they continue to rent them out! I ran a local bike shop here in MN and we did snowboard and ski waxing/sharpening so while I wasn t the one doing it, my employees were, I still know what a decently waxed or recently waxed board looks like and these looked as if they hadn t been touched since new. Might as well of had storage wax on them.

Brought my son here for a lesson, rented him a board/bindings and bought a lift ticket and paid for 90 min lesson- all told over $100-

As I m watching the lesson I see the instructor pushing my son down the hill. Yet, all the other kids w their own boards are going 20 mph down the hill easily.

So, after the lesson the instructor tells me he did a great job, but that his board was unusually sticky and that it basically wouldn t slide down the hill on its own and that we should ask the rental shop to wax it he also made it clear that he was not able to teach my son much of anything because the board would literally not move, it was like it had brakes on! Looked funny to see him in the middle of a decently steep hill, wiggling around trying to get it to move and no dice. It wouldn t budge.

Ok! Great, now that his $100 lesson is over, we get told this, shouldn t the instructor have noticed this right away?!?! I think he did but it seemed to me that this was the condition of ALL the boards so it wouldn t have mattered one bit what board we had.

I am going to speak to someone about getting a refund for the lesson or a voucher for another lesson. At this point they switched out the board fo another one, however it looks just as bad if not worse, confirming my suspicion that they are ALL this bad.

I will update my post with how I am treated when I bring this to management and if I m treated well and they fix this issue, then, no harm; or at least less harm, no foul. Mistakes happen, I understand this as a business owner Now and having run many successful businesses that dealt in customer service. What is important however is how you deal with the mistakes and how you make them right.

So, we will see what they do to fix this, as my son is pretty disappointed with his lesson due to the board only, instructor was awesome.

Update- we have now left, the second board we got did seem to work better, however, by then he was pretty tired and it was clear that because of the crappy 1st board he wasn t able to learn much of anything during his lesson. All the others in the lesson got to try stopping and carving however as my sons board didn t move period there was no way to teach him to stop.

My son just told me the instructor was very nice, and that he told my son over and over the board was not moving right and that he was sorry, that they would get him a better board after the lesson.

This is great; however, I think he should have had my son go exchange the board right away so he could at least have gotten half a lesson in

I wasn t able to speak with anyone about a voucher or refund for the lesson as the lesson area was busy and my son just wanted to leave, but I am hopefully going to contact them tomorrow morning and I will update with what they say.

All in all, it s a decent hill if you have your own board. The instructor my son had was a nice guy, however he should have handled the crappy board thing better as lessons aren t cheap and neither is our time.

I think I will probably look into a second lesson at Hyland for him.

Set up ski lessons for the family here. Arrived 45 minutes early so we would have time for rental and to get on the slope. Dropped the family off and spent the next 45 minutes trying to park my car. That's enough to ruin my day.

So much fun, all the employees are awesome and fun. If there is a down side it would be that it is a little bit on the expensive side.

Took snowboarding lessons. Lots of fun and good times.

Local. New ownership. But starting to get dated. The buildings/doorways/interior could use some major renovations.

I expected better in so many ways. Prices are high, facilities are overcrowded and very out-dated. Long lines waiting to buy a lift ticketing, standing outside! Terrain parks left a lot to be desired. Although it's also on the pricey side, I will likely be headed back to Hyland Hills which has much better facilities and better terrain parks.

My daughter is 9 and loves to ski. I went a few times and had a great time. The hills are thrilling enough to keep you entertained and the time goes by fast.

Lots of fun. Kind of pricey. The wife and I were able to get rentals easily and fast enough.. FYI falling hurts lol.

We have been a long time season ticket holders, but this will be our last. To say the main chalet is non-functional and gross is giving to much credit.
They have a half-pipe, but its to wide and the walls do not tapper correctly. Also, they do virtually nothing to maintain it during the year which essentially renders it useless.
The good news is their are seldon lift lines. However, on the few days when lift lines exist it would be nice if they had someone helping to maintain some sort of order in the line.

not many hills. but what they lack in hills they do upkeep the ones they have.

Enjoyed snow tubing here! It was a great experience for beginners and kids to introduce you to the thrill of sliding down a snow hill with your face a foot from the ground! Very well maintained. Price for 2hrs was great! You could take a magic carpet to go up the hill and then tube down. Safe environment. It was a nice sunny day, too

For being on the outskirts of a major metropolitan area, it's an easy place to get some rides after a workday or on the weekend for a few hours, plus the tubing park is a hit with kids. The eating establishments can be a challenge to find seating during busy times.

I brought my 6 year old son in for his first snowboard lesson. The instructor did a wonderful job and was very friendly. I will definatly be bringing him back.

It's a good place for beginners to learn how to ski. Ken was a good and helpful instructor.

Great skiing place!
Me and my friends go there all the time. I lost my phone there and they were helpful. They put my name in a book and wrote down the description I gave them.

I hadn t been skiing in a few years and decided to try it out again at buck and had an awesome time! The staff members were friendly and the slopes were a lot of fun!

Great family fun to go tubing for all ages!. Has a fire pit to warm up if needed and restaurant if you want some food or beer. Also has snowboarding and skiing hills to enjoy with half pipe and trick park.
