Close to everything. Short runs, but you'll get lots of runs in. A fantastic place to learn.
This was our first visit and it was an awesome experience.
Small but big enough for an in-city Ski resort. Lessons are good too.
Nice variety of small hills, medium hills. and snowboarding areas as well. Slopes are frequently groomed and, considering the warm winter we've had, snow is often in decent condition. Recently, our Boy Scout council had an overnight lock-in at Buck Hill and the prices for the event were very reasonable (especially considering that we spent 8 hours there). My kids always enjoy going to Buck Hill.
I just drove past it on the highway, so not sure why it got picked up for review.
Good local place to ski, and you can get a good deals on season tickets if you get them way ahead of time. The big drawback is that the hills are not long, and there can be backups at the chair lifts during peak days. Offers two chalets for dining or quick food.
You have to take advantage of the snow in places like this!
Amazing place, it s amazing how they can fit everything you could possibly want in one small hill. They have a half pipe, 3 terrain parks, moggels, and plenty of room for racers. One thing I don t like is the attitude racers and race coach s treat us park skiers, they re always very rude and act like they own the hill and we re just juvenile people.
Good place for winter sports.. snow tubing..down hill skiing .. the best thing is you don't have to spend your energy climbing.. they have escalators
Snow tubing is really fun here! Lines get really long and could sell out on busy days when weather is warm!
If you think it looks fun from this point of view you should see it from the top..
Simply amazing and really really fun....tubing was a blast....
They held the terrain race here of fall 2019! Loved it
Fun times...see yall next year with about 50 of us....
Very good skiing location for your ski option!! Nice / clean place, great staff and good competitive price for skiing!!
Nice for a quick, cheap fix. Definitely bring company, the few runs will get boring quickly on your own.
Loved this place! Fantastic family environment! Tubing was the bomb-digfity
Need something fun to do this winter? Come to buckhill, enjoy a great day sking, snowboarding and tubing!!
Enjoyed all rides..Best place to go with family and friends
As good as it gets for for a ski hill in a metro area that's not in the mountains.
Decent place for boarding with-in the city.
A lot of unattended kids. This can make it a little annoying plus people like to just sit at the top of the park and jump area.
Amazing place. Is my first time I was there and I think it's gonna be one the days I had more fun this year. 100% Recomendable
Best time I've had in a while!! If I lived here I would be here every day. Check out the black diamond restaurant too
My 6 yo daughter has been skiing there for three years and while we didnt find the group lessons worthwhile, the private lessons have been well worth the money!
Left some of my stuff there a week ago and then bam its sold after 1 week. Its so annoying and yes the staff are annoying. I have a card to afton and it is wprth the drive there BECAUSE THEY ACUALLY CARE FOR YOU and they acually keep YOUR STUFF IF YOU LOSE IT same with hyland.
Awesome place to ski and tube!!! Prices are reasonable and staff was awesome and attentive....
Love this place while on vacation. Perfect for the kids.
Convenient location with better than what you might expect runs. Good for beginners to start to step up their game with it's longer than average magic carpet.
FUN! Went snow tubing for a work trip. Friendly staff and great drinks in that restaurant
It's like a tiny little hill in your backyard but it chill and fun.
The tubing is fun for younger kids, if you plan to bring older ones i reccommend skiing or snowboarding
Great place to have fun during Minnesota never ending winters , get the season pass!
Had a lot of fun skiing today with my boyfriend. Perfect snow for it!
Had not skied here in 30 years. This place has grown. While the ski hills are substantially the same, the lifts are now excellent. The base area bars, food and service are much improved.
If you live in the south metro and want a quick trip, this is the best place short of an hours drive.
Thrilling experience of snow tubing.. fully enjoyed.. beautiful northern lights
Good place to get a start to learn how to ski snowboard and race!
Great place to ski/snowboard. 30 minute drive from the heart of the twin cities. Great place to work.
Very quaint, very convenient, and fun place to ski! Not a lot of runs, but nice to have something pretty close to home. Somewhat expensive, but properly priced to ensure its not too crowded. The ski rental for my kids were in decent shape, and hills were well groomed.
The restaurant is fairly small, a bit overpriced, but is a fun atmosphere. The food is not bad compared to the usual ski chalet restaurant.
Nice place to go skiing or snowboarding. Offers decent accommodations with hills and trails for beginners and advanced. Not the biggest place but conveniently located in the Twin Cities.
I do NOT recommend Buck Hill for snow tubing. Don't waste your money coming here. You only get a two-hour limit, but most of your time will be spent waiting in line. We paid for the two hours, but we left after an hour because we only got to go tubing twice for the hour that we were there. And we came on Christmas Day, so it wasn't nearly as busy as a regular day. The reason the lines went so slow was because people kept taking pictures up on the hill and instead of the staff making sure the lines flowed smoothly, they allowed people to keep stopping to take photos on their phones before they went down the hill. If you're going to put a time limit on your customers, then you need to make sure that your lines are flowing efficiently to maximize our time. If the staff made sure to keep the lines flowing smoothly, we could've probably gotten to go down the hill at least 5-6 times, if not more for the hour we were there. Don't waste your money coming here!
You're never too old to be a kid!! This place is a blast, go have some fun!!
Had a good experience here for evening ski/board. Reasonable prices, friendly staff.
If you are on the fence over Buck hill or hyland, GO TO BUCK HILL!
If you wanna hit rails, jumps, or the halfpipe, better have rope tow gloves ....
Great local for winter sports in the winter months and they now offer mats in the summer for summer fun.
Good snow tubing and skating and skiing spot... kids 4+ will enjoy tubing
I drove bus there with school, kids had a good time.
Old world skiing feel and modern bar provide whatever skiing experience you prefer
Very convenient skiing from the cities. Prices a bit higher but worth it for the convenience and there are partial day options that are very good.
Great location, friendly staff, snow not great but that's to be expected this time of year.
Fun place to go, although it is a long wait to go tubing and there is only one type of hill.
Great teaching hill, friendly staff, wide variety of runs, great location.
Pretty fun place to ski. A little bit expensive though which is why it's 4 stars
The place is really nice. There is a slope for everyone. They also have tubing. They also have a couple warning houses along with food.
First time snow tubing and we loved it. It wasn't expensive either and when we needed to warm up they have a little bonfire going. Will certainly go again but can't wait to see what they offer in the summer.
Ok place that is closest hill near mpls. They hardly ever have all lifts running, which means 2+ hills are closed. Yet there all day price stays the same, and they do not tell you this through the phone. They are shady, not opening entire hills and lifts.
Went to concert, what a mess! Unorganized as hell, several of younger employees were rude. Bottom line come for skiing only.
It's a fun afternoon but after awhile it can get pretty boring. It's just a little to small for my taste. The parks are really fun though
Go for the early bird special! You practically get the entire hill to yourself. One note is that the hills are groomed, so if you like powder this is not a good place to go.
Great place to learn how to ski/snowboard since there is a carpet. $45+ for a full day's lift pass.
