The place can be maintained well better during winter and during snowy days. Insufficient parking, bad maintenance inside the bar & grill and worst cafeteria that serves cheap burgers.
Non-skiiers has nothing to do in this place. They could have made the lift to non-skiiers so that they enjoy the hill top , anyways the lift downhill can bring them back.
Not so impressed with the sign boards as well.
Ski swap successfully outfitted our entire family with new equipment and we're ready for the snow!
It's a good place, tubing hill could be more fun though
Small practice hill. Strong history in developing ski racers and they do a good job of that. They also have a strong ski and snowboard training group and everyone is very friendly and helpful. The snack shack needs updating and expanding as there are never enough seats for everyone to eat.
Friendly and welcoming customer service for my child's "little Bucks" intro ski lesson!
Staff was great, smiling and willing to help especially Angie at the ski boot station, she made me feel welcomed.
Aside from being freezing cold, it was super fun! I went snow tubing and the snow was icy which was the only negative.
i learnt how to ski here. great place to learn within the twin cities metro area. They also have a sunday evening special pricing, well worth it!
Nice place for an afternoon not too far from the rest of the world. They have some varied slopes for everyone.
Forget about the experience - have not got there yet but just trying to find out more specific details on the nice sounding New Year function and and spending the night at the nearby Best Western that offers a shuttle service which sounds great though seems to be a major mission to learn/read details other that the frills ! Just spell it out instead if having to sift through all the silly yup stuff !
Accidently went one chair too early and the lift operator didn't even slow the chair lift down.
Solid beginner hill. My kids loved it. Comparable to elements at Hyland hills in my opinion.
Amazing half pipe and hills for beginners to experienced riders.
Best little hill to make slalom turns. Close to the twin cities. Excellent staff and friendly snow sports environment.
Tried out their "plastic snow alternative" and it destroyed my skis after a few runs. Turns out there was a warning about this possibility that I was never made aware of by the group leader as she was not notified of it by the staff.
Tubes are no very attractive. The color is fading due to the weather. Also, wanted to get in to the lift to take Some pictures but is not allowed unless you pay for a skiing fee( about $60 ) why not charge 5 $ for a round and make money?? Also out dated resort, need more speakers in the electric stairs to the tubing side.
Awesome place to go skiing/snowboarding, great food, and a great time. Not too expensive, me and my family got a season pass and are definitely gonna make the best of it
We did the tubing hill. I've been wanting to go for a while and it was a little disappointing. I can't speak for the skiing/snowboarding but $18 to tube is ridiculous. You get a 2 hour pass and on a Friday night you wait between 15-20 minutes to go down 1 time. I mean it's fun, but go to a park and tube for free without the wait.
Not too fa from the city for its slopes. Has man made snow in case the winter gods do not behave
Great skiing & snowboarding for our whole family! Beautiful views & great snow! Food & drinks at the restaurant we're also really good!
Went here for the summer concerts wonderful fun time
Always love me some Buck Hill, was a bit busy though....
Great hill for beginners and people just looking to get in a few runs! Lots of jumps and terrain parks for the younger crowd.
Great little slope near the cities. Two magic carpets are great for teaching kids. They also have amazing military discounts.
Nice place. To practice these sports with a bit of adrenaline, it has equipment rental as well as restaurants, cafeteria among other options.
Went here for their annual ski sale. Everyone was so helpful and helped me purchase the perfect skis!
Here for outdoor concert and was a pretty good experience!
Awesome local place to snowboard and ski. With tubing available. And all so year round hill open.
Disappointed this year. Wings were very small like they ca.e from as Cornish hens. Barely any seasonings also. Hamburger again no seasoning a was over cooked from what we asked for. Last ski season was a LOT better. We then thought finally Burnsville and Lakeville and Apple Valley finally had a great burger. Let's see WHAT happens this Friday..
Super short trails, takes you less than 10 seconds to do one run. You spend more time on lifts than actually skiing
Great terrain parks, great staff , sweet half pipes for snowboarders and great customer service! i love the park and hills and am planing to get a season pass for years and years to come!
The place is awesome, we had a great time for New Year's Eve and the fireworks were amazing. Tubing is great, and hopefully will be skiing soon.
We had several events at Buck Hill, the food was excellent that was catered from them. The upstairs ballroom has lots natural light.
Ok. I've skied here since I was little. But, since the ski area switched owners a few years back, my experience has gone downhill (literally). They've ruined the hill by making it more of an attraction for trick skiers and snowboarders. As a ski racer, I despise the jumps, moguls, and expansions of the terrain parks they've added. They keep pushing leisure skiers out. At practice, it's nearly impossible to get from Warner's Way, Olympic Dreams, and Crossroads to the chalet because of the moguls and huge jumps they've added on Milk Run, which is the primary racing run, again cramping the leisure skiers and racers. Now let's review. The folks who don't jump or do tricks get these runs: Warner's Way, 1/3 of Milk Run, 1/2 of Crossroads, The Bunny Hill, and Teacher's Pet. Trick skiers get: 3 terrain parks (including the newly added massive jumps, a mini terrain meant for young trick skiers, and a massive park on the far south side of the hill), a half pipe, and moguls. Thanks to these new owners and recent events concerning terrain. I will finish out my high school alpine racing career, and unless the "balance" for trick and leisure skiers is restored, I will not be returning to Buck Hill after I graduate....
Great place for skiing. Prices steep compared to bigger hills a little further out.
It's nice and close, unlike a lot of places. However it's pretty small, and the chalets aren't the best. Still a great place to go to learn how to ski or snowboard, or to practice.
Somewhere that you can get tasty food along with ski in a metro area. Just recently they installed NeverPlast (not sure if I have the spelling correct here) allowing everyone to be out on the hill year round. It is exciting to see the changes happening, pop out and take a look at everything, it has a new look, but but still that great Buck Hill atmosphere.
Very busy but it was a Saturday night. Good drinks and cheese curds.
I've been going to Buck Hill for around 7 years. They have definitely improved their features and trails over the last few years. It is smaller than most places, but a great spot to go snowboarding that is close to the south metro area!
The mountain biking trails are really fun, once you get up the hill. Good mixture of downhill trails and mountain bike trails.
Well Staffed, Fun Atmosphere, Good Food and all around FUN!!
Great food,. Friendly service and fun atmosphere....love it!!!
It's where you go to learn how to ski before you go somewhere else and pay double the lift price. Great for beginners or training, not so great for any length of time for intermediate or better skiers.
The park used to be good but is now super dry and has a lack of features...it's pretty diapointing
Nice resort. Great snow, and decent prices. We were able to save some money with an early bird special. Really only one bunny hill though, and as a beginner, it was tough to practice on the one they had.
Went down the tubing hill with my kids and had lunch...great afternoon!
Very happy with the experience that my family had while we here. Thank you so much for putting in neveplast, we will definitely be back.
Nice job with zombie boardshop running the rail jam.
Small hill of course. But great hospitality. Great services. Try the Black Diamond Lounge!
Little small but plenty of interesting things to do
Came to Buck Hill for the first time back on March 6 as part of Northern Star Council's annual overnight Scout skiing and snowboarding event. Had a great time despite lines to check out equipment being pretty lengthy at first. Wait times at chair lifts, conversely, were always short, but wish that the lift attendants were more engaging with everyone in attendance. Having done all of my previous ski outings at Trollhaugen up in Osceola, the hills here are generally steeper, so you have to really be careful so you know how to handle ice patches, deal with bumps in the terrain, and avoid collisions.
A great asset to the area, with ownership that cares about giving you a quality experience.
It was fun but it would've been nice if there'd been a variety of hills to use. Only 1 hill for everyone took a lot of the fun out of it. Use Badlands in River Falls Wisconsin for example, with 4 different hills. For different ages or thrill levels.
You always follow your heart and flying around your love.
Went for a cyclocross race. Very fun! Great family atmosphere!
Friendly and helpful people. Answered our questions to get a friend skiing in a day. Thank you.
Really great snow tubing and ski place especially families
We ate and had a drink at the Black Diamond pub. EXCELLENT food and beer. Great musician on Friday night. He had us singing to all our old familiar tunes. Happy hour pricing is great too. Mexican quality menu. Elote is soooooo good.
Great experience. First time for me and my son. We had a blast over spring break. Everyone there was extremely helpful.
