I am absolutely shocked at the way I was just treated by not one, but two Brown & Wood employees over the phone. I called to ask if they negotiate prices on used vehicles (because I found a comparable vehicle in the next town over for $4,000 less) and they were extremely rude, condescending, and disrespectful. If they are not going to negotiate prices, their Website and advertisements should say so, and they should not talk down to people asking that simple question (especially since negotiating is 110% standard in the used car business other than Carmax, which is no comparison to their small business). Will take my business elsewhere and encourage everyone I know to do the same.

Went to check on a vehicle that was on line, I got there only to find that the vehicle was no where the way it looked online. With all the flaws on and in the vehicle the salesman, which I will not give his name, was not willing to bring the price of the vehicle down. Ive bought a number of vehicles in my time, and everytime the salesman and I would always negotiate price. I talked to a number of car dealerships about the same vehicle and they were more than happy to negotiate. Plus the salesman was not familiar with the vehicle.

I have bought a few cars in my years of driving and Brown & Wood has been my overall best experience EVER! My son, 1 week shy of his first birthday, and I were in a head on collision when a driver crossed left of center that totaled my car. Safety in a vehicle went from being just a thing I thought about to THE most important thing when purchasing my next one while not skimping on the creature comforts that I desired.
Jerome took his time with me and helped me to find the perfect Mazda 6 without pressuring me into things I didn't need or want. He toured me around the entire facility and I was able to meet Mark the Mazda service adviser who made sure I had his card and he assured me I could call him with ANY questions that came up all before I even signed a single form. About a week later I couldn't get my new phone to pair (problem on my part not the car) and with a single call Mark walked me through it. There was no hassle of of trying to fit an appointment into my hectic schedule or bring my toddler into the dealer and though I offered to pay for his time he wouldn't let me pay him anything.
During the financing process both Tom Brown (owner) and Jeff Stein (general manager) made a point to come in to introduce themselves and make sure I was comfortable with everything before we finalized the deal.
The buying experience was quick (which is so important with a toddler in tow) and I got an amazing car at an amazing price. Brown & Wood has made me feel like part of their family and I look forward to having all of my service work done there as well as any future car purchases.

He introduced me to the mechanic and Iam sorry I don't remember his name but very nice and diagnosed my concern with my Cadillac and unexpectedly it was nice to hear I just needed an alignment. Started off great. Salesman Tim C. Got VERY rude when I decided the deal he was offering was not for me. I tried explaining why I wouldnt be paying 400 a month for a 08 pickup. They low balled me on my trade andonly offered me fair value when I tried to leave. They also refused to work on the price of the truck. When a salesman tells you that you wasted his time it makes him a sore loser. I WILL NOT be recommending this place to anyone. I would love for management to give me a call, but they wont

Dan is a wonderful salesman. He was right there when we were looking at a car that we thought was well out of our range but thanks to his help we were able to trade our car in for a smaller car that we absolutely love.
I got locked out of my car last week and my phone and keys were in the car. With Mr. Dan's help I was in my car 5 minutes after I called him. He is wonderful. Thank you so much Mr. Dan for all your help.

I was denied at EVERY. SINGLE. car dealership I went to due to negative equity. I worked with Eric over the phone for a day and a half, and drove off in a new car before the week was out. Outstanding customer service. Micah in finance was extremely professional, and thorough. The "genius" who went over my car details was awesome as well. Just an all around great dealership...it was worth the drive from Raleigh!

The service department at this dealership is great...

The service department at this dealership is great! My brand new GMC broke down while visiting my daughter at ECU and was there for over 2 weeks waiting on parts. As unfortunate as that sounds, they hooked me up with a loaner and did everything in their power to get me fixed. BIG SHOUTOUT TO GREG AND THE SERVICE TEAM MARYLAND!

My wife and I were in the market for a midsize SUV that had a 3rd row. After talking to friends and family, we narrowed our search down to a few different options. I sat out on 1/31 to go take a look at a few vehicles so that my wife and I could go back at a later date to get more serious. Upon arrival, I was quickly greeted by Brian Spain. He was very nice and professional. He wasn't pushy at all, but informed me that given it was the last day of the month, he and his managers would gladly do whatever they could to make a good deal. After telling him what I was looking for, we took a test drive. With my wife being at work, I wasn't prepared to do a deal without her being there, and without her car that was the actual trade-in. Brian and sales manager Rob made sure that they did whatever they could to make the process as smooth as possible even given the obstacles. Long story short, we bought a brand new, gorgeous GMC Acadia. We couldn't be more happy, and very happy to have worked with Brian. I appreciated his style. He wanted to make sure I was happy, but also wasn't the stereotypical pushy salesman either! GREAT job to everyone involved. Brian, Rob, Michael (finance manager) and even their "Genius" that helped me get everything set up!

He was patient, answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. I had a great experience when buying my car. Definitely recommend them if you are planning to purchase a vehicle.

WOW WOW WOW. Mr. William Smith was incredibly awesome in helping us with our vehicle transaction. You can really tell he has been helping people purchase cars for a long time. He knowledge of inventory allowed us to make the best decision for our family needs. The next time I am in the buying car mode I will be calling Mr. William.

The atmosphere is professional and has an "at home family environment" at the same time. Since they were going to do an oil change and insp...

Since they were going to do an oil change and inspection on the car I ask how much it would cost to replace the low beam headlight bulbs. I was told it would be $130 because it would take one hour of labor to replace, I did not believe that estimate. I had read the instructions and they were not that complicated for a mechanic. I said no I would replace it myself. When I got home I changed one bulb in less than 20 minutes with the wrong equipment (a pair of needle nose plyers to remove a bolt) and no experience in removing and replacing the headlight group. If I could do that in less than 20 minutes your mechanic should have been able to do both lights in less than 15 minutes. I really feel that your service department were trying to rip me off. If I cannot trust your service to give me a good price for something small WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD I TRUST THEM FOR ANYTHING MORE. I will never come back to Brown & Wood for any work to be done on my car. I agree that you can publish my response, but I doubt you will.

I am the owner of a 2014 GMC Sierra with 61K Miles...

I am the owner of a 2014 GMC Sierra with 61K Miles. I have recently had some issues with water entering the cab of my truck via the antenna located on the top of the cab, causing consequential damage to the headliner, electrical instruments on the left side of the steering wheel, and the carpet on the driver side. The General Manager, Jeff Stein and the service team, worked diligently to get the repair quotes down to an acceptable number. The management team and service team at Brown and Wood is outstanding. They are very responsive, understanding, listen well, and know how to get things done and make things right. My experience was unforgettable and I have nothing but great things to say about Brown and Wood. I will certainly continue to do my business here for the duration of my time in Greenville!

Not only did the Service Team do a great job servicing our 2016 GMC Acadia, the friendly team up front did a great job, as well. While waiting, I tried to use my smart phone but had problems accessing the internet. Ruth and Jerome were at the front and were more than happy to offer assistance when I asked about wi-fi. Turns out my phone was the problem and they corrected that and Ruth even helped me add an "app" that was the focus of my online activity, anyway. It was good to see our super sales rep, Wade Trask, who also mentioned the benefits of the newer model. Before leaving, Jerome was able to solve the mystery of my GPS voice prompt feature that had stopped. I remain so excited not only to have my Acadia travel-ready for the next day, but to have an improved cell phone as well. Thanks to all!

For the most part I usually enjoy my experiences at Brown & Wood, but it is often that I have to spend a large portion of my day there. All of the employees are very kind. However, when it comes to taking my car to service I have to wait quite some time. I recently had to get my tires rotated and it took 3 hours.

We bought our Mazda from Brown and Wood in 2010. Car has been great but went to the parts department today and received the rudest and most unprofessional service. Rang the bell thee times while waiting, then had to go get a sales person to find someone and when he finally came out, it was the guy behind the glass that saw me standing there but refused to acknowledge me. When he did finally come to the counter to do his job, he did so with an attitude. Looks like I will need to find another place for replacement parts. Sad

Update: associate said he would call with a parts price quote and is yet to do so.

This is my third vehicle I've purchased from Brown...

This is my third vehicle I've purchased from Brown and Wood. The first two went great. However I purchased a 2016 White Tahoe from this company. I had it two weeks and it had a loud ticking noise every time I accelerated that was getting louder and louder. It also drove uneasy. I had 2 GM Mechanics look at it around my home area and they said something was definitely wrong. The vehicle should NOT sound like that. Of course when the vehicle was dropped off to be fixed at Brown and Wood they "did not hear it". I called MANY times and probably talked to everyone that works there and asked to please let me trade in on a Acadia. I was told the vehicle would have to be new so I would not be in the hole. After talking to them and getting prices they were going to charge me a ridiculous amount to get out of this Tahoe. With my hands tied I tried my luck at Boyd Chevrolet in Emporia. They got me into a brand new Acadia for 7 thousand dollars cheaper than Brown and Wood offered AND informed me the Tahoe I had purchased from Brown and Wood had been wrecked! I WAS a loyal customer but I will NOT be returning.

Brown and Wood is unlike any other auto service business I have dealt with. The service managers are extremely kind and helpful. You really feel like they care about taking care of your needs fully. They take the time to explain the issue and the solution. It was really easy to schedule an appt online and I received a communication along the way to verify the appt. I was welcomed at the scheduled appt. time, the shuttle was ready to take me back home and my vehicle was ready when they said it would be. Thank you Brown and Wood.

Wow, this place doesn't deserve one star. Just got off the phone with a sales manager to handle a previous problem with negotiations, he made the whole process worse. This is the reason why so many people hate dealing with car dealerships. By the time he ran his numbers, the price of the vehicle was more than the asking price which is not what I was going to pay....LoL. I asked for $1,899 to be subtracted from the price of the vehicle, he had the number almost $3,000 over, which meant if I had committed to the number he was offering, I would have paid more than what I wanted to pay for the vehicle.
If anyone goes to this dealership wanting to negotiate, be prepared, stand your ground, and don't let them fast talk you.

If "I'll need to talk to the sales manager, I'll call you back in 15-20 minutes" (then never call back) is a sales tactic, It is certainly not a good one... This happened twice by the way. Things get busy that's understandable. But when I get the same line twice and both times no response it's frustrating.

I used Brown and Wood to service my tire monitoring system on my Cadillac SRX. They gave me a price and did the service. The price was awfully high. I decide to check another Cadillac dealership 40 miles away, just to check the price difference. They were $300.00 cheaper than Brown and Wood, for the same service. Brown and Wood has been notified of this BIG price difference and they only want to refund me $150.00. They have now lost a customer. Is this a dealership you would want to do business with? Please check other dealerships before dealing with them.

I was there a few times for service and most every time I asked to check the clicking noise coming from the rear and it was not done. I was told one of the universal joints was going bad , but I believe there is more like something going on with my transfer case. It was as if I was being ignored of my request!
