Unique brewery that should be included in anyone's visit to Amsterdam. It has a great setup, with cosy outdoor picnic style tables. The real stars are the beers, which are brewed here, delicious and reasonably priced. Try the beer flight if you're not sure which one to try first!

Great beer for a great price.

Great beer for a great price.
The finger food are also delicious to eat while drinking and talking away.

Good place for a beer. Not expensive compared to the rest of Amsterdam.
She is an artisan, but they serve haste ... They serve beer very poorly.
Too bad they didn't "throw it" well because it would be better.

We love this place!! Flew in from Massachusetts to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary here as we had such find memories from our last visit. The cardamom beer is amazing and the cheese/sausage/egg platters are the perfect accompaniment.

Nice place to go for a beer. The IJwit in-house brew is worth trying (we tried 4 of them). The bar food is satisfactory, nothing special. The friendly staff, decent beer, and proximity to a cool windmill make for a must-do visit.

Great brewery and trendy hotspot during the weekends in Amsterdam. Not plenty of space inside (and Amsterdam windy weather could be a challenge) but if you score a good day you can sit on the benches in front of the place.
Beers are good and cheap, food is easy Dutch style. Worth trying!

Great place for local beer. The snacks are OK. The best is the grilled sausage but nothing special. Nice location and if the weather is nice seating outside is a must. It had a small tour but if it is crowded (usually it is on the weekend) forget it.

Downside or big downside. The young service lacks experience in the field of hospitality. For example, without making eye contact or any form of communication, the empty tray of glasses from a Spanish couple is taken off the table. Perhaps there is just too many staff scheduled and they are bored to death. Taking the Christmas group photo, on the other hand, requires a lot of attention from the staff. A bit of a shame after the personal and pleasant service at the De Prael brewery. 4 stars because of the special environment. IJbok also delicious the IPA was disappointing

Cozy

Awesome brewery bar with tasty beers. The windmill adds to the picturesque nature especially if you catch it on a good day. The snacks (cheese and meat) are good too. The cheese especially so as it is from the farm that originally takes a waste product from the the brewing process to feed the animals with.

Beware though that there is a bit of a rush at opening time, presumably to get hold of the very limited tour tickets. However, although the tour guide is very knowledgeable and it was good to learn about the brewery, the tour is quite short. I therefore think the the low price which includes a small beer is very fair but therefore not a deal breaker if you don't manage to get a tour ticket.

Great beer and garden under the windmill. The Plzen is great taste, also is the Flink, more fruity. The Combi (raw sausage meat and cheese) is great price and awesome taste. Recommended visit here in Amsterdam.

1 of the most pleasant and culturally diverse places in Amsterdam. In good weather it is always full of picnic tables and I have never seen it cozy. In addition, the IPA I think is the best in the Netherlands, that and the other nice beers are also nice

One of my favorite places on Earth. My wife and I have been to Amsterdam twice in the last two years. Brouwerij 't IJ is our home base. I'll be frank. European beer culture is pretty weak on the whole. I've spent time in Scotland, England, Germany, and the Netherlands... The beer is not up to the New England standards I'm used to. Brouwerij 't IJ is the exception. The beer is excellent, the atmosphere and location are charming, the bathrooms are clean, and the bar food is refreshingly simple and good!

This is a great place to unwind after a long day. A great place to place to hang out and plan your future. Hell, a great place period. I could not recommend it any higher!

The best craft beer factory in Amsterdam. They have more than 10 varieties, some available all year round like the Flink (4.7%) normal blonde, Plze (5%) pilsener hopped, Natte (6.5%) dubbel toast, IJwit (6.5%) wheat, IPA (7%) , Zatte (8%) tripel, strong but very rich, Columbus (9%) amber hopped and Struis (9%) sweet and dark.

The beers cost around 3 varying a bit depending on which you choose.

It is located next to the De Gooyer windmill, a wooden mill built around the year 1609, considered a national monument.

You can also order sausage tapas, pepper stew, cheese cubes, fried peanuts and something I've only eaten in Holland called Ossenworst and it's a kind of raw veal sausage, which is a vice. The only thing that would be missing to be perfect are bread spikes or just bread :)

Great brewery, great beers. No table service (totally fine) and snack-ish food only. Service was friendly and immediate. Only reason for 4 stars was food wasn't super great and there weren't very many options.

Great place to try local beers. I visited Amsterdam twice and went there both times. My friends liked it very much too. It s a windmill from outside with great atmosphere from inside.
Bears + snacks :)

Good place for a beer with a good conversation.

Good place for a beer with a good conversation.
The brewery is easily accessible and this promotes mutual contacts.
And then I haven't even mentioned the Columbus. Just taste and you're up.
Recommended! !!!

Top!

Great atmosphere.

Great atmosphere.
Even greater beers.
** Coses at 8pm
** No table service or restaurant
** Simple sausage cheese and penauts as snacks

Great place with really nice atmosphere and really good beers. On a sunny day you can sit outside on the cool terrace. The place is in an old public bath building converted into a brewery. It is really nicely decorated and its location under a windmill is really cool. We shared the tastings options and even sharing, I was a bit tipcy in the end as the beers are a bit strong, so consider ordering some snacks (:

A wonderful place in the Vondelpark. Large terrace where you can relax. The pavilion and the terrace have undergone major refurbishment following the takeover by Brouwerij 't IJ. Of course you can drink the delicious beers from this brewery here. There is not so much space inside, but the terrace is grand as ever. Too bad the weather was disappointing.
