A brewery and a windmill!! A little out of the way but definitely worth the trip. Great outdoor area to relax and try some beers with friends. They also offer a small snack menu. No table service but it was easy and fast to order drinks.

Awesome brewery/pub. Fantastic to drink in a bar that is part of a windmill. Some really nice beers on tap and great merchandise for souvenirs. The food is pretty decent too. Situated in a really nice part of Amsterdam, it is a good venue to add as part of a bar/pub crawl. Highly recommended

Typical Dutch experience. After living nearby for a while it became on my favorite spot to show to people visiting me. Famous local beer with different selection of taste. Beers can be quite strong so keep an eye on how many you drink. The place is lovely with the old windmill. You ca find also cheese and ham plates that fits with your beer selection. During sunny days be aware that finding a spot to sit isn t easy. Close at 8pm though.

This is a hopping little bar! Seating options are pretty good, decent amount of room inside, and some nice views and tables outside. The flight is really the way to go to try all their brews. We all enjoyed our visit and would gladly come back. Make sure to check it out.

One of the biggest and most famous craft beer breweries in Amsterdam. The tasting room offers all beers and some small food items (like cheese) at very reasonable prices.

Is always busy though, especially with good weather.

We preferred this brewery to the tourist visit to the heineken and we were satisfied. It has many craft beers (we tasted a couple) very good. There is also the possibility of taking something to eat and we especially liked having found the local people and not just tourists. Go there!

Excellent tasting of 5 beers accompanied by the mini cutting board of salami and cheese.
The place is always very crowded and almost impossible to conquer a table that also happens to be shared with others but the concept is to be together and drink, everything else does not count.
Average prices and top quality craft beers!

Nice place for a beer. Note the opening times, it is officially a tasting room and therefore closes at 8 p.m.
I personally do not recommend the lager, Brouwerij 't IJ is not good at that and that is not necessary either, drink a specialty beer.

What better place to have a micro brewery then next to the windmill that helps mills the very ingredient for the golden liquid of life. Great place to try craft beers and dine on local Amsterdam street eats and bar finger food. The cheese and sausages are a must try with the beer in hand.

Really cool environment. The place it's always packed with people drinking and having a good time. There is also some appetizers to order with the beer, and some non alcoholic beverages.

We drank each kind of beer in a glass) an excellent choice (16 varieties, of which 4 in bottles) and everything is delicious. Snacks are chic, especially like sheep cheese brie. The prices are low. Brew beer and sell. There are a lot of tables, but there are many people. Mandatory for acquaintance with Dutch brewing. You can buy a T-shirt with a naked woman :)

I wanted to come here for 2 solid reasons... 1) beer. Needs no other explanation. 2) one of the only 8 windmills in the city proper.

So to be honest, the windmill was a little underwhelming. But it was cute and I got a few good photos of it.

I wanted to take a brewery tour but didn't plan it out properly so I ended up just grabbing a sampler at the bar and people watching. I made the huge mistake of forgetting it was St. Patrick's Day and wow was this place crowded. I could hardly make my way through the bar but luckily they were well staffed and I was able to get my beers and settle in quite quickly.

The beer they have is great. They have a nice variety. I really found the Zatte (a tripel) really nice. But I tend to go for heavy blondes (like myself!
HA!) The nice couple standing next to me thought all the beers were a little too fruity but I tend to like that so I was pretty pleased with my experience.
