What can I say. Simply my favorite brewery of all time. There is some kind of magical elixir in the beers of this place, guaranteed to have you floating when you leave. The beer is the best straight from this brewery compared to the bottled variants you can get in the stores. It is also very affordable here compared to any other bar. The snacks accompany the beer perfectly. The only downside is that this place is overrun now that it appears in every top 10 list of things to do in Amsterdam. 10 years ago this was not the case, as there was plenty of seating and very niche. Oh well...

If you go to Amsterdam .... you have to visit a local brewery .... this one is really worth it ... top beers .... in a very informal atmosphere ... advice ... better to go early ... fills up a lot ... frequented by locals ....

Best crafted beer in Amsterdam!

Best crafted beer in Amsterdam!
It can get quite crowded at night or on weekends/holidays as it is not a big place. But it is definitely worth checking out and a must visit for anyone new to the area. I am giving this a "highly recommended" 5 stars.

I just thought I d pop in and see what it was all about. The tour is small yet very interesting and the beers are top class. Quaint is a word I d use for this place. Gets very busy indeed.

Nice place. A kind of Dutch beer! Of food, of course, like a cat cried. But you can take cheese and sausage as an appetizer for beer. Beer networks of 5 types of beer are popular. The bartender has an interesting drink in glasses, watch.

Brewery not far from the city center, located right on the 't IJ river and next to the large De Gooyer windmill.
Very cozy place, not very big, but anyway we are referring to move quite despite the crowd always present at all hours.
The draft beers are excellent and many, they cost very little and are served in an instant.

Ok

Nice place that offers a good selection of beers produced by them! Always very busy so be patient and share the tables. You can eat some appetizers but do not have a kitchen (mainly salami and cheese). The structure is still very interesting to see, being an old windmill.

Another site that if you have time you should visit. It is a craft brewery located in an old mill not far from. Amsterdam center. I recommend that you ask for a tasting of their see in small canes ordered from less to lesser graduation with some good cheese tacos and then ask for a large one that you like, but do forget to drive afterwards. Nice place to go with friends and have fun.

Externally it looks like an old windmill, but don't be fooled by appearances: inside there is the production of different types of craft beer (there is also a guided tour) and a brewery with retail sales.

Very nice and especially original location for drinking beer, come here regularly. Such a pity that it is only open until 8 pm ... It is recommended to have a snack at the neighbors (Schnitzel & Weizen) afterwards.

Crowded. Many tourists. Excellent range of specialty beers. Various snacks (sausage, cheese and peanuts) are also available. Due to the crowds and the layout, I found it less pleasant.

Been to a thousand breweries all over the world and this one takes the cake. A wonderful mix of indoor and outdoor seating, great cheese and meats to snack on, plus lovely service. Best part is the beer. We tried five or six and couldn't have picked a favorite. They were all fantastic

Great craft beers with an equally awesome atmosphere. The food selection is scant, but you're not there for food. It's a microbrewery and the brews are delicious. You'll want to get there early as the place gets busy quick. I'll definitely be back again.

Yesterday, when we arrived at Brouwerij 't IJ we were planning to attend the English guided tour with a group of 9 people. When we got inside we were directed to the bar in order to buy our tickets.

At the bar I asked for 9 tickets, with the response being a blatant "No". When I asked why this was not possible, the staff member walked off and didn't return for another 5 minutes...

She then came back and told us that purchasing 9 tickets at once was not possible due to the brewery's policy. This policy entailed that such a big amount of tickets could not be sold at once, due to the fact that there were only 20 spots available.

After this I asked her if there were actually still 9 tickets available, to which she responded with "yes". I was confused. There were still 9 tickets available, however they refused to sell them to us?

Anyway, after getting denied the tickets, I continued my conversation with the (grumpy and uninterested) waitress, who quite frankly couldn't care less about the situation. I asked her if we would be able to buy our tickets seperately and not as a group, to which she again blatently responded with "No". In short, the waitress refused to sell us tickets in any way possible.

She suggested that the others (who didn't speak Dutch) should join the Dutch tour at a later time.

To me this policy sounds completely ridicule. It seems as though the brewery would rather not serve customers and, as a consequence leave half of the tour empty, than provide them with a great tour, which I am sure they are able to do.

To give a brief summary:
This brewery would rather reject customers in big groups in any way possible, than give them a tour.
This brewery has grumpy staff who could not care less about their customers.

My advice:
If you are thinking of coming as a big group to do an English tour, I would strongly advise you not to. I have never ever experienced such horrible service and I sincerely hope that the brewery reads this feedback and does something about their ridiculous policy.

Lovely site. Brewery under a typical Dutch mill. You have the possibility to ask for a table with a sample of each of the 6 beers served there. The drink is ordered in a bar and in a corner there is a small counter where appetizers are ordered (Cheese, sausage, a kind of cooked sausage, hard-boiled egg ...). Fantastic!!!

Very nice place inside an old windmill and not too far from the city center. The beers are good, the glasses are a bit small for my liking, about 330ml is as large as they do. There is no table service which made no difference to me. There is some spacious outdoor seating which gets some sun.
