Bonaventure Resort and Spa Review

The lobby, common areas, and convention spaces are nice, but the rooms are simply ok. They are laid out like an apartment complex, and the beds are a little disappointing.

Staying here for hurricane Irma.... The rooms are okay, the staff is friendly enough, I'm not too keen on the multiple buildings and exterior hallways, but it's fine.

Nicely landscaped with a pathway for walking and running. Pool nice size able to swim laps. The place is older vintage somewhat updated. I was surprised that no coffee was included in lobby. Shameless.

Massage was good (Christine) facial was fantastic (Kimberly)! Locker rooms and spa amenities very nice, wish I had more time to enjoy them all. The only negative was that the water in the showers could be hotter.... and I'm not one of those scald your skin off types... it was warm enough but I can see where others would be disappointed. I hopped over here on a long layover with a groupon, 100% worth it!

Rooms smelled musty and wet. The restaurant and bar were extremely good though.

I stayed here for a conference and the CONFERENCE area was amazing. The rooms and the hotel itself is very old and dated. Lots of things not working properly and just old. Wifi is extremely spotty and for a working conference, this is unacceptable. Staff was nice, food was too expensive and servers seemed irritated that they were busy (they were less than friendly in the Zen lounge). Had to call twice for towels as they only leave a couple in the bathrooms. Oh! And this hotel does not automatically change your sheets if you are staying more than one night. You have to special request this - different. Overall, I would not stay at this hotel again even for a business conference. It's not set up for overnight stays, just one day events only. They are not ready for anything more.

Disappointing. To be a Resort and Spa this place is not impressive. Tiki bar is understaffed, pool had algae and was green, rooms are outdated, lots of construction nearby wakes you up, no views. Ive stayed at Holiday Inns that are nicer. Spend the extra couple of bucks and get closer to the water. Not worth it.

Its beautiful there and will vacation there any time love my stay there

I was pleasantly surprised to find some of the friendliest staff I have ever come across and an oasis in the middle of Weston Florida. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights on Jan 1-3, 2016. Although I have never left a rating before I was blown away by the customer service of this place and felt compelled to share. My ultimate goal for this trip, "De-stress" was facilitated by the waterfall at what I liked to call my "little oasis" pool. I sat under that waterfall for most of our stay and let the stress melt away.
The only constructive critique is that they need to add a few more layout chairs, but regardless, we will going back again!

Looks & feels a bit like straight out of the 70s. Huge areal, solid food (depends on the venue inside you choose, Ireland's amazing, Bar Zen is rather average).
Rooms have very thin walls, which can be kind of disturbing if your neighbour's like to watch TV all night.

Good sea food at the restaurant. Excellent beds and helpful staff. Recommended!

Older resort. Buffet was mediocre. No fridge or microwave in room. One extra blanket for 2 beds. Beds were ok. Place was clean.

The TV quality was terrible, static and distorted picture, maintenance man said that all of the TVs are like that because they are from the 90's and there was nothing they could do. No refrigerator in room. Wanted to hangout at the hot tub at night but its seems to only be on during the day. Felt like we stayed at an aesthetic motel 6. Bartender at the Cabana bar was the only thing we actually liked about this place.

This place is absolutely amazing. I had the best facial ever with Kim. I got a groupon for a massage and facial and the service was OUTSTANDING. You can eat, enjoy the amenities like steam room, dry sauna, jacuzzi and pool. Highly recommend this place.

Stayed here for a week and it was very good. The room was spacious and clean. The staff friendly and accommodating. I will be returning sometime in the near future.

Love the place, return as often as possible. Service is great. The room with a kitchen was wonderful.

The pool area is fantastic with a waterfall. Water zumba and exercise classes everyday. The residence is very nice, a full 1 bedroom apartment. Restaurants and shopping in walking distance. It is just a short drive to the ocean, beaches, casinos and the everglades.

Location is nice, plenty to do around here. Service had been solid as well. Had a but of a wait for food but the waiter waived the drinks so it worked out. All in all a good experience.

The reception staff very friendly, the problem in the rooms, they have a door that separates you from the continuous room and you hear everything that goes on in the other room, in fact at 12:00 at night I had to ask me They changed for another room, because there was a couple who did not sleep and I was with two small children, the bathrooms were not clean, the corners and the edges of the glass doors of the shower had mold, the pool was missing tile and the jacuzzi did not have hot water and it was very dirty, in short it was the worst place I have visited in my life, I do not recommend it to anyone.

Resort is in desperate need of updating. Sliding door would not lock. Internet did not work. TV receives only analog signals that are blurry. Room appears to have original furniture from the early the mid-90s. The steakhouse is really good, but very pricey. Spent 170 for two of us. Parking lot was full, forcing us to valet our car. They did not charge us though. I don't write many reviews, but I felt like writing this one. At nearly $300 a night, hotel is nowhere near this price point for the experience. Would not recommend.

Got Great Service on our stay here, great dinners and Spa made the trip so relaxing

I had a great experience here, beautiful, clean, and very tropical. The only thing was the room that had a kitchen but no dishes. The front desk clerk told us to go out to eat or we can bring our own dishes.

The location is very convenient and right off the highway. The rooms are very clean and provide all the essentials. There are pools and a fitness center. There's also restaurants at the hotel.

Nice but needs updating. Rugs are gross and the bed side table looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while. Still had sticky ring marks from who knows when. Food at the restaurant is not very good and expensive.

It is located in a very quiet area and very good access to the sawgrass mall

I stayed at this place during the Jewish Passover in April, and after having delivered a room at 3 in the afternoon when I returned at 10 at night I was occupied by another person. When I went to talk to the manager at the reception, he told me that it was not his problem that they had delivered the room and that he resolved with the event organizer. Although the employees were very friendly, he turned out to be a very unpleasant person. He even suggested that he share the single bed with the intruder. Then I was given another room much better thanks to the event organizer. Still remember that the yacusi had no hot water.

I've been to this hotel many times it's a wonderful Hotel spacious friendly employees my only problem on my last visit was that the roofs were leaking everywhere due to the stormy weather. One would think a hotel that status Roofing leaks would not be an issue in many many areas of that hotel. But it's a nice Hotel I'll be back there

Ohh my goodness absolutely amazing people treated us family. The resort was wondering. Whish there was no construction noise at 6:30 am at building 7

Bartenders were amazing at the hotel! Our bartender Bea stood out and took care of us all night!

Attended a Seminar on real estate for 3 days. Facility was clean. I didn't have direct contact with staff. Good and quiet location.

Just in and out for conferences but never lodged at this location. Staff is very polite and helpful. Security can be a bit authoritarian but they likely need to justify their existence. The transport from overflow parking is on point and extremely comfortable.

Over priced and over rated resort. Rooms were dated and not very clean.. Staff at breakfast did not provide coffee or water timely. Breakfast was just ok...for the price I'd expect fresh eggs made to order. Pool nice but could have used some toys. Gym was great for a hotel gym.

I stayed this weekend. I thought the place was great! I was upgraded to a suite during check in. The room was beautiful and could have only used newer carpet to make it any nicer. The view of the golf course that's in ruins isn't the best but I didn't stay there to sit on my back porch, so I didn't mind. Ate an amazing steak dinner at Irelands and had wonderful service our waiter was Doug, he was awesome! Also had a massage Saturday morning at the on site Spa, which was extremely relaxing and a perfect treat! Overall, I was very pleased and will be going back!

Beautiful Resort. It is about a 20 minute highway ride from the airport. I did not use the amenities or restaurants so no review of those. If I had more time I definitely would have indulged in the spa. The hotel was arranged by my company and after reading recent negative reviews I believed this was going to be an unpleasant experience - it was not.

I did not have any unpleasant smells in the room and the room was very clean. The furniture is Colonial and the room was a spacious suite. There is a 1/2 bath by the entry door and a full kitchen. FYI, there are no supplies in the kitchen other than a coffee maker.

The bedroom had a king bed and a large bath with a tub and shower. My only negative was the bathroom floor (looked like marble) appeared clean, but I discovered by accident, with a wet towel, that it needed additional mopping. The rest of the bathroom was fine. I did not take pictures of the bedroom or bath because I already had my belongings spread out when I thought about pictures. I didn t feel like sharing that.

The hotel rooms are spread between 9 building with parking at each building. The lobby is part of the main building which has many meeting rooms and ballroom.

I don t understand some of the negative reviews other than people have different expectations that were not met. For me cleanliness is a must and this room passed. I would definitely return.

Good food a little expensive but overall great stay

My wife and I stayed here as part of a short getaway to recharge our batteries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, well equipped and had good natural light. The resort is peaceful and a good place to chill out. I was very pleasantly suprised by the spa! Its huge with a gym, hot yoga, massage rooms etc..

My only criticism is my wife's steak she had in the steakhouse restaurant came out burnt on one side.

Overall, recommended.

Our room overlooked the pool but it was very dated and smelled a bit musty. The apartment buildings could use a serious remodel. It is also expensive. I wouldn't recommend this resort.

I was a guest August 1st thur the 3rd it is a very beautiful property yes you can see construction but it is across the pond from the property not on the property. The room that I stayed in was in bulding 3 first floor with a nice little balcony to sit on beds were comfortable tv was flat screen but very few regulr channels so TVsucked and the bathroom was very clean but the toilet was a bit to low for me hard to sit down and just as hard to get up especially for someone with bad knees or back issues but over all it was a nice place to stay.

Don't be fooled by the pictures on the website! Rooms are terrible!
Unfortunately stayed here for a soccer tournament.
At check in we were informed that the type of room we reserved was no longer available. We reserved a room with 2 beds. Instead our only option was 1 bed and a horrible pullout sofa bed. You know the kind - with a bar that runs right across the middle of your back and random springs that poked through as a bonus. Front desk tried to say this was an upgrade because one of the beds was a king. When one of the beds is a disgusting, rickety pullout sofa bed, it s not an upgrade.
The first night we had to CHANGE ROOMS at 2:00am because the A/C in our room was not working.
Teresa at the front desk made ZERO effort to be helpful & seriously needs to consider a job that is not in the field of hospitality. She gave us the take it or leave it attitude...and that was the nicest part of her attitude. She set the negative tone as soon as we arrived.
Also at check in, we were not given our receipt for the prepaid breakfast that was part of reservation for this tournament. We had paid in advance for 2 breakfasts each day as part of our reservation. The first day we didn't go to breakfast. I had to go to the front desk and ask for the print out that showed our breakfast had already been paid. So at that point we should've had 4 breakfasts prepaid (since we didn't use 2 the first day). Nope, the print out was only for 2 meals...we had to pay for the other 2 (even tho my husband only had coffee, they charged him the full buffet price).
We didn t receive any kind of hotel info, restaurant info, hotel layout/map. There was no info about the hotel/amenities of any kind in the room.
Parking is a joke.
Some elevators don t work, the ones that do are sketchy.
So many issues that it s ridiculous to try to list them all.
Patrick, at the front desk, and Mr. Ferguson (Paul - I think) who moved us to a different room at 2am were the only helpful/positive interactions we had during the 2 nights we stayed.

Wonderful facility with great friendly staff. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are nicely updated, a large pool area and tiki bar. They even have an upscale spa and an awesome gym facility that rivals most membership gyms. The only negative would be that there are some buildings with rooms that have outdated decor.
