Is there a 10 Stars?? I have been visiting Southport for more than 20 years. This is a local favorite :) be sure to try the Old Bay Shrimp it can not be beat.
True Story: I have traveled the globe and ran into people multiple occasions sporting this bars logo desined t-shirt....it is just that great!! Thank you Buddy and the team you have always done a remarkable job.

Clam Chowder was amazing!! Literally the best I've ever had. Fish spread was great!! Had we only ordered those 2 things I would have given this place a 5 star.
Conch fritters tasted rotten and was very dry. My fish and chips was as if I went through a Long John Silvers drive thru. Very greasy and soggy. My husband had the combo fried basket and said everything had so much breading you couldn't taste any meat. French fries under my fish where more grease drained out on them were soggy. The Cole slaw was good, I like that it was chilled, nice and crispy and perfect amount of slaw dressing.

Just about everything on their menu blows other seafood places out of the water! I crave their grilled oysters at least once a month. A must-visit for the food and folks whenever I m in Fort Lauderdale.

This place is the bomb. Florida seafood at its freshest and best. It is a must stop every time we are in Fort Lauderdale. Will be there in few weeks. If the weather is cooperating we will get a spot on the deck overlooking the canal, order some conch fritters, some clams or mussels and a pitcher of Yuengling. Eat Fish Live Longer. Eat Oysters Love Longer. Eat Clams Last Longer.

Great happy hour Gulf Oysters, clean, meaty, shucked nicely. Mahi tacos were also great! Old bay shrimp were rather small, but very tasty. Bartender provided great conversation, and locals were super nice.

The view of the water is a beautiful long view, the atmosphere is casual, and the staff is attentive. I had the Crawfish bisque which was the special... sadly, all I could taste was old Bay seasoning. The bread roll was fresh and yummy. I also tried the fried cod which was crispy, and adding salt made it really good. Overall it was an okay visit.

This is a fun, family-friendly restaurant with its back opening out onto a canal. Great service. The food is not great, most of it is deep fried in a thick batter that makes it hard to taste the food underneath.

Love the place! A great dive bar with good, traditional American food. They are known for fresh seafood but I don't fancy oysters so can't elaborate on that. Wings, jalapeno poppers, clam chowder & seared chicken were all great though. Interesting, diverse crowd, good vibe & you can come by a boat! They also have dinghy parking for cruisers.($10 that they'll take off your bill if you order anything, which is fair.)

Took an Uber from the beach. Short and inexpensive ride for a very casual environment, personable staff, and the best oysters I've had in a very long time. I also ordered the "smoked fish dip". It came with saltine crackers....I would pass on that.

Overall, I'm very glad I found this hidden gem.

We had a wonderful dinner with the family at Southport raw bar on Friday night. The only strange occurrence was when the bartender did not know how to make a kitty cocktail/Shirley Temple for our 11 year old and told me it sounded perverted . Everybody at the bar that overheard had a good laugh and explain to her how to make the simple drink. Maybe some bartender training 101 is necessary?

Wonderful food, staff, and clients. If you wanted to step things up a notch I d recommend some non plastic furniture but I guess it kind of makes the atmosphere complete!

Keep up the good work!!!

Love this place for its great food, ambiance and location.ive been there already 5 times and unfortunately always leaving not completely satisfied as the service, including the cashier, is really bad . Such a waste as that place has so much potential.

Blackened fish was dry, portions very small for the prices ($22 a dozen raw oysters???) service was a bit lacking, sorry to say. Definitely not the beach feel i was expecting. Maybe just an off day for them.

Great atmosphere and service is terrific.. oysters were super fresh.. Try the combo chowder! Think it's a combination of conch chowder on one side of the bowl and Manhattan clam chowder on the other side of the bowl.. Then mix it up!! Burgers are grilled outside and perfectly cooked... can get very busy at times but sit inside if you have to, it's worth it.. say Hi to Schantal, our great waitress!

I was in town for business and was looking for some good seafood and casual setting as a solo diner this fit the bill. There was live music on the evening I went which was nice! The view is lovely and the food was delicious and priced well.

We had a wonderful dining experience tonight. All the seafood was cooked to perfection and was plump, juicy, and delicious! We shared the seafood basket, half pound of old bay shrimp, and oysters seaport. Yum! To top it all off, we told our server we were catching a flight and she had us out in less than 45 minutes. Thank you so much!I

4.5 stars. The food is good, consistent, and what you would expect for a South Florida raw bar. They have live music outside on the weekends and it's a great place to grab a meal and some drinks when the weather cooperates. The reason why I really enjoy this place is because it's one of the few places left in South Florida that feels like a real local hangout. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Nothing feels more Floridian than sitting by the dock and enjoying a fried fish sandwich and a few cold beers.

Absolutely horrendous experience. Arrived at 8:30pm on 4/28/2018 and was told 10-15 minute wait for outside seating. We sat patiently outside until 9:15pm until I complained to the hostess. She admitted she made a mistake and seated a couple that came in after us. Not only did she do nothing to try and make things better, we missed the time frame to order the oysters. My date night with my girlfriend was completely ruined. Do
Not recommend supporting this establishment. Nothing was done to fix their mistake. A lack of training in interpersonal skills is obvious in this business. I ve had 1 good experience before, but this was too much. Do not recommend.

Southport Raw Bar is filled with locals who know it's the place to go for great food and value. It's always busy because the service and quality are among the best in South Florida. It's a casual, down to earth place with no pretensions, and a restaurant I highly recommend.

Southport was a little too dirty looking. The carpet was really dirty looking and just old. We sat outside on the deck next to the water which is always nice. We had clams and baked oysters which were a little spicy but good. My husband had blackened Mahi mahi tacos which were delicious. If you can overlook the dirty rundown carpet and old feel of the place you will be fine. Staff wasn't particularly warm and inviting. it was a shorts, flip flops, and tshirt kind of place. Very relaxed atmosphere.

If there is a place where you can feel safe eating oysters even out of season this is the place. Informal casual setting with awesome food and excellent service. Best clam chowder in town.
