Easy place to chill and have e a few drinks. Food is good, fresh. Peel n eat shrimp, Jalapeno oysters, all good stuff. You can drive your boat right up to the dock, no worries. Live music too. Long time customer always enjoying the atmosphere.
What a chill place! Nothing pretentious. Good food and cold beer. As soon as we walked in we were seated right away. Surprising because of the crowd! The fried fish was delish. Next time we'll sit at the waterside.
Great food, great drinks, good service! The first time we were there the service was okay but the food was so good I had decided to give this place another shot. I'm glad I did! Plus sitting outside with live music (that's actually good music) is always a plus. Definitely recommend, the vibe is pretty laid back :).
Awesome place! Nice little view of the water caught a late lunch the Burger on the grill was big thick juicy and yummy! Also had the old Bay seasoned peel and eat shrimp and you must try the Bimini bread!
Great food . Polite waiter serve me but other waitress keep ask me if I finish. At one point , one of waitress picked my plate even before I finish my food. I don't understand why they keep hurry me up. It was late afternoon and all restaurant chairs were almost empty.

Great breakfast, and good service! The breakfast is newer and hasn t always been around but it was solid. I enjoyed the french toast and the herb s big breakfast. Good prices. Girlfriend had the shrimp and grits. Better than any of my food lol. My buddy had the southport eggs benedict. Super good. Definitely recommend checking them out. They re known for their oysters and other seafood.
Mussels and oysters where excellent. Our meals were not as spectacular but everything is fresh, good service and excellent prices.
Stopped in for lunch before offshore fishing trip. Seat yourself with great views of the inter coastal. Fried oysters, fries and blackened Mahi was hot and delicious. Quick service, food was out in minutes at our request. Will return!
I love this place... came down to meet up with friends I hadn't seen in over forty years. It was their choice as they live locally. We had a veritable smorgasbord, with each item equally delicious. I finished off my meal with the best cheeseburger that I've had in a long time, cooked very rare, just as I like it. I liked it so much that I came back a few days later..just as great.... I'll be back again.
Great fresh seafood. The oysters, old bay shrimp, fish and chips, and Mahi-Mahi tacos are all fantastic. While all of their antrees are fantastic, the key lime pie here might be the best key lime pie I've had in my entire life. Would definitely recommend eating here.

The food is pretty decent and the hours are ver convenient. The last time my boy friend and I went here there was an older waitress who let us sit with no drinks, no menus and no silverware for over 30 minutes. After the manager from the previous shift stayed to serve us our entire meal she never came to check on us once nor would she even turn or look in our direction. I love their fried scallops but the service is not worth it. Stick to take out if you want to go here.
I have never had a bad meal at this place, the Grilled Parmesan Oysters are the Best Ever, if you sit at the back bar, you have to tell Matthew a Dirty Joke.

No tourist trapping. No over priced gimmicks, just great seafood, drinks, and locals atmosphere.
Of my favorites, few tourists know this site that is more than local, I have more than 30 years visiting it and will continue on my list top

Disappointing. I asked for the peel and eat shrimp chilled. They were served unseasoned with the old Bay seasoning on the side. Our server claimed they had to do it that way because I asked for the peel and eat shrimp which are steamed and usually served hot, chilled over ice. I know I've gotten them before in the past seasoned and chilled over ice, and it just wasn't the same. The music was way too loud making it difficult to enjoy a conversation.

It's definitely a hole in the wall but get the dolphin tacos, clam chowder and baked stuffed clams. You can't go wrong, also eat outside on the water it's amazing.

The Southport is an institution. Sit here long enough and you'll see everyone who matters in Fort Lauderdale, from deck hands to tycoons. No telling how much you might eat and drink in "long enough". But since the food is great, that shouldn't be a problem.
Kep was a good waiter, the grouper was frozen, not fresh, would never eat there again. Clams were over fried. Had my friend that is a fisherman from the Bahamas for 25 years taste the grouper, he was surprised that the restaurant would serve frozen grouper. Worst I've ever had.

The food was ok. The fried shrimp were flat. So I am pretty sure they are not fresh. Probably extremely processed. Since the last time that I was here two months ago, they changed the portion on the fish and chips. Definitely less fish. I was disappointed. I had thought that this was going to be my go-to spot, but I will be trying other local spots.
Good service, genuine environment and very good food at humane prices. We ate conch fritters - a new dining experience - and mahi mahi (golden mackerel). The fish was perfectly cooked! The only thing that drew the grade down was the strip, which we could have been without.

The "dolphin" is actually dolphinfish (look it up on wikipedia, they're hilarious looking) but it is prepared very well and tastes great. Cheap beer too

I've been enjoying the Raw Bar since the 70s and it's always great! Sat out on the back deck and enjoyed a cool breeze, good food and live music. The service makes it extra nice they really take care of you.

The raw oysters are always the best sweetest juiciest thing on the menu. Last year sometime they had Bang Bang oyster tacos I wish they'd bring them back on the menu they were Fab. But the best night to go there is Monday night and got great entertainment out on the porch the guy really rocks I think his name is Marcus go check them out
