There is a half marathon every year at Yokota Air Base. On that day, the applicant and accompanying person enter the base.
It's a fun marathon with many (possibly) US Army volunteers.
After the restaurant, you can also use American food and dollars. The goods of the participation prize and the novelties sold are also cute.

2019 Friendship Festival was fun!
Concerts and goods are good, but I'm looking forward to authentic steaks and tacos I hear from rumors.

It is delicious to sell turkey!
I got a picture of the transport.
The fried oreo was delicious!

We recommend Oleo Fry , a dish of Oreo fried in clothes and covered with sugar. It was delicious. 09/15/2019

Beautiful fireworks at festivals that were held before.
Sorry because it is currently canceled.

You can taste American feeling, and also for special training in English conversation? ! I was surprised that a Japanese elementary school boy talked in English and was selling goods!

Had a very bad experience with Japanese guard years ago.
At the gate he gave me a wrong direction to the visitor's centre. When I was walking toward the direction he said, he started shouting at me.
People working inside the base were nice.

My favorite assignment. Was stationed there from 1978 to 1980 then again from 1983 to 1986. Yokota was a great place to live, the train system was awesome I went everywhere. Went to the Tokyo Disneyland and to the World Fare. It was also easy to catch a hop to Korea or the Philippines. The base had everything, two of some things, it was easy to go to Fussa City. There was a nice park not to far away that had Cherry Blossom Trees and a water reservoir. I had a great time there, everybody is friendly and helpful when you are off the base. I spent a lot of time with the locals, don't be afraid to go out and mingle with the Japanese people that are a wonderful, fun and friendly.

I started at the Japan-US Friendship Festival. A tremendous person came, but the base was bigger than that. The US Army and the Self-Defense Force planes were lined up on both sides of the long runway. We were able to see and lined up. What was surprising was the size of the Osprey. I thought it was bigger. Also, the smiles of the US military people were good. He took a picture with me. I think it s a little bit up.

Would have given it 5***** if there were enough places to stay. Was here in December 1993. Even though it was my first time there, and I do not speak the language, I felt much safer there than where I live now. Public transportation is much better in Tokyo than anywhere in the U.S., but expensive.

Last year a group of Dad's USAF buddies decided to have a reunion in Tokyo/Fussa and visit the old Air Base. Not only was the AB receptive, but we had our own private tour of the base!

The men were so touched and really had a great experience. I was so proud to experience this with them and visit my daddy's old stomping grounds.

SSgt. Ramirez did an excellent job of honoring these veterans. He was an excellent guide, happy to answer questions, and patient to allow our group to have a small memorial service for a brother-in-arms who had recently passed away and could not make the trip.

You all did an excellent job at honoring our veterans!!! We could not have asked for a better experience!

By the way, the guys said mostly everything had changed.......except for BAR ROW!

Enter the US military base once a year.

Enter the US military base once a year.
You will need an ID to enter.
There are various shops and things that are not sold in Japan. *
Souvenirs include T-shirts, cherry pie, emblems, gatorades, and Budweiser!
I ate steak meat bowl, hamburger bowl
Inside the base, there are exhibits of Osprey, fighter planes, helicopters, and jet planes I have never seen before.
There is no parking lot or bicycle parking lot, so if you go early, you can easily enter! If it is late, it will be difficult to enter side by side until the base

The sky in Tokyo has not been returned after the war, and Yokota has taken over here, and the "postwar" is still going on.
Aircraft from Haneda continue to fly while avoiding the airspace of the Yokota area while bypassing the altitude and passing through.
November 2017: President Trump's use of Yokota instead of Haneda Airport, which is supposed to be Tokyo's front door, is a way to Japan, and the sky in the capital Tokyo is still under US rule. I think you were impressed.
The C-130 tactical transport aircraft stationed at Yokota has also been updated to the latest J-type, although you will not notice any difference in the distance. The appearance is that the number of propeller blades has changed from four to six.
In October 2018, five new CV-22s were deployed.
In addition, the "Korean UN Army Rear Command", which was placed in the camp Zama, was moved to Yokota Air Base in November 2007.
In 2020, U.S. military personnel and military personnel will enter Japan without being quarantined by Japan, despite restrictions on travel from the mainland U.S. with a large number of new coronavirus infections to Japan. I also want you to pay attention.

The US-Japan Friendship Festival, which is held once a year, allows you to enter the base. The Tokyo Loop Line No. 16 passes around the base, and there are many foreign shops around.
On the day of the Friendship Festival, the price of the surrounding parking lot will be higher, so it is better to stop at a parking lot near the station and move from there.

The rumor was one month ago that B-1B would have come, but this time it did not.
The 2017 Japan-US Friendship Festival was good at the cool time, but the B-1B exhibition I was looking forward to was canceled and I was very disappointed.

Love it

Our plane caught on fire here. Japanese fire department reacted quickly and were very nice, but while I was working on the plane this Msgt came up and started telling me all the things I couldn't do while on base.

We try to go to Yokota base best once a year as much as possible.
Depending on the season, it may be extremely hot, but despite this it is a popular event with families pulling strollers.
The fun is American sized junk food.
Steak, pizza, donuts, fried oleo etc.

I lived in Hamura Machi and worked at FEN on Yokota Air Base for about 3 years. I made many lifelong friends from my time there. Being stationed there was one of the best times of my life and I know that my American friends from there feel the same. I also made Japanese friends with whom I stay in touch. From Yokota I was able to visit Tokyo and explore the rest of the country. It is a wonderful country to see. The base itself was great and offered everything a person could need.

I go to the Japan-US Friendship Festival at Yokota Base several times.
Because the place is a runway, it is very hot on a nice day. The shade is only below the main wing of the transport aircraft. You should have a parasol.
There was also a rainy day in the seasonal pattern. Depending on the weather, an umbrella is required.
There are temporary toilets, but they are a little apart.
You should take your ID with you.
In 2016, everyone was asked to post.

Pizza and steak are very tasty but at a tourist spot price.
You can enjoy it depending on what you see.
The items on display vary depending on the year.
In 2014, I was able to shoot in the Osprey cockpit, but in 2016 Osprey was not on display.

I am going to put an ordinary person at the annual friendship festival.
The US Air Force, the US Navy, the US Marine Corps, the GSDF, the maritime owner and the airborne aircraft are displayed on the ground so that they can be seen fairly closely. Depending on the aircraft, you can also enter the cargo room or cockpit. I will also exhibit personal equipment.
Let's eat American authentic hamburgers and steaks when you are hungry!
Together with a drink not sold in Japan

However, there are quite a lot of people who have recently gained popularity!
A cockpit tour or drinking system may be bad if you have to prepare a long line
There is no private parking lot or bicycle parking space. There is a possessions check at the entrance.

Kale taxi is a great company, no matter who says whatever, if I had 20 trillion money, I would buy a license plate from nowhere other than a taxi, the company, which is the main three papermakers, is frightened to not deliver the man's commercial license plate. they frightened because they were afraid to tell the finance dedileer gentlemen ladies yalcinkaya is a trade tip paper.

At the Japan-US Friendship Festival, the fifth gate will be opened and SDF & US military aircraft will be displayed in the apron. Admission is free, but there is an ID and baggage check. You can use $ at many stalls, so you can use up the remaining $ on your overseas trip.

It is a base for the US Air Force and the Air Self-Defense Force in Fussa.
The main is the base of the US Air Force, and it seems that the inside of the base as well as its surroundings are in the city of the United States.
A "Friendship Festival" is held every Saturday and Sunday at the end of summer every year and is open to the public.
Basically anyone can enter for free.
In addition to being able to see many airplanes up close, American Air Force soldiers, their families, and related parties will entertain you with many shops, songs and dances!
Unfortunately, it's regrettable that some unhearted people are hiding their old memorandums and failing the "majestic flight show."
We recommend visiting once to experience the atmosphere of America.
It's very wide, so please go out in a comfortable style!

After cycling to Hamura, you have the option of going to Yokota Base towards Haijima or Seibu Stadium.
But anyway, it's wide.
Along the 16th, the car was blown away, and there was only a US military base and its U.S. soldier housing. Of course, there are spaces where Japanese people live as well, but the proportion is probably low.
I often see a fan of military aircraft holding a camera at the point where the runway is clearly visible.
I am impressed that such information is often available.
The spots are fairly fixed, cars around them are standing around, tripods are enthusiastic about fan discussions, or waiting silently, depending on the person.
At the very least, if this base can be opened to Japanese aircraft, I think it will be essential for the development of the Tama area. ..
When I hear about the control area, it's not a completely independent country. .. ..
It makes me think about various things.

Visit 2020.8.9
I added a photo.
2020.8.22
I visited from the other side.
By the way, I was able to see a reconnaissance aircraft ready for landing from around the Tamagawa Ryokuchi Whale Sports Park and Ogami Ryokuchi, and a plane taking off at the Nishisuna bypass.
2020.8.29 revisited

A wonderful base and same with the Japanese people. Yokota is a great assignment and ensure to take full advantage of all the sites in Japan.... Try to take the less travelled roads and visit cites and towns outside Tokyo... You will create memories for life.

The 730th is a useless, evil squadron (every last one of them really) led by narcissistic dictators whom need to be reprimanded. To add, everything on base is mediocre starting with the people, and ending with the buildings. Lots of racism, hate, prejudice, segregation and injustice. Furthermore, many here will both smile to your face & laugh behind your back. There are a lot of disingenuous people here. Additionally, many nationals cater to white people. I'm of European descent and even I'm able to admit that. I've worked with the government for over 12 years and I hated the place. Got stationed there after a tour in Germany. As a MSgt, I got to see some really messed up stuff. I can't go into details due to my clearance, but it's terrible. Glaringly, a lot of dumb, degree-less, uneducated Airmen, and NCOs walk around pretending to be more than they are. The Officers aren't any better. In reality, they're poor, mentally damaged, and can't work anywhere else! I wouldn't look at any of them twice on the street. Don't make the mistake of getting stationed here. It's a cult that doesn't expose itself until you arrive and are isolated on the island of Japan. Moreover, the nationals are oblivious to any social issues amongst the base residents. The Japanese nationals will basically smile why someone is being abused. Avoid at all costs. Additionally, you will lose the majority of rights and freedom you had by coming here. Base housing = The Ghetto/ Section 8

To add, Inspector General, Legal, Security Forces, and the Area Defense Council are useless as well. They cater to leadership. Poor government workers, & minimal performance. But why would they care as long as they get paid? This base is where the bad news stories come from. Ask them about the recent Airmen suicide last fall in 2015 that they tried to keep hush-hush... A young white airmen took his own life. Many, NCOs laugh during suicide prevention presentations. All in all, it's no wonder they've been under curfew for the past SEVERAL years.... Actually, the whole island has been under curfew! That speaks volumes about the magnitude of filth here. Make no mistake, this is a negative review for a negative base. This is karma, and they get what they deserve.

This is criticism, something they can't take.

I went there about 10 years ago at the time of friendship, but I enjoyed a lot of events such as displaying aircraft, opening restaurants such as steak shops, and concerts by US soldier bands. The U.S. soldiers on the base high-touched each time they passed each other and were very friendly. It seems that it was canceled for a while, but what about now?

America where you can enter when there is a friendship festival!
Even if you like military, it is a place where you can enjoy America without it.
I can eat both American and steak, and I also enjoy watching fighter aircraft which I can not see on a daily basis and touched and it's fun.

To enter the Friendship Festival, you need an identification card.

I had such fantastic experience when I was at Yokota from 1991 to 1993. If i wasn't working, I was off base rollerblading, riding my mountain bike, motor scooter, hopping on the trains or mountain climbing. Should have married my Japanese instructor Kania Son. Only real suggestions i have are experience everything possible and don't ever fear the unknown. Also, treat everyone with respect and you will have the time of your life!

Closest train station is Fussa Station, it takes roughly an hour to get to Shinjuku Station in Tokyo. There are plenty of great restaurants around the base, not too far away either. Every year the base hosts an air show to strengthen the partnership with Japan and its people.

Last year when I went to the Japan - US Friendship Festival, I could not take pictures without an osprey.
But since this year, Osprey of US military base belongs to Yokota base, so please take a picture.
There are also fighter planes and blue impulses belonging to the Air Self - Defense Force Irumuma station, so please do come over to Yokota Base again.
The Japan - US Friendship Festival will be in mid - September so please check the date etc yourself.

A crisis similar to that of Okinawa was finally coming to Tokyo citizens as well. There is "achievement" which is not surprising at what time the osprey crashes. In the mainland of the United States it is called "widow manufacturing machine". Even if an accident happens, we can not expect any compensation for Japanese citizens. For the security treaty. Its grounds are Japan-US territory agreement. In the "concept of the Japan-US territory agreement", "Since the control by the US military has no meaning in terms of aviation law as an interpretation of strict air law, our citizens think that there is no legal obligation to follow "We carefully remind you that. In fact, however, the agreement of the Japan-US Joint Committee invites the reality that the empty sovereignty of air traffic control authority is violated, although the agreement of "implementation bylaw" not publicly disclosed is binding on the US and Japan governments There are many. It also leads to human rights violations caused by the danger of noise and crash of US military aircraft.

I went to the Base Friendship Festival the other day. It was a tremendous hand.
Even so, I was watching unrelated elderly people and babies with fighters and large transportation machines.
Normally it is "ban on entering the United States premises", but on this day it is a fuss about liberating the base.

It was a very hot day, but I feel like having a picnic by pulling out a vinyl sheet on the runway.
After all, the main was an exhibition flight of Osprey.
Clapping appeared when I repeated "bow" to the audience, hovering in the air.
Nearby national highway No. 16 and the residential area became a heavy traffic jam.
When the Osprey exhibition flight was over, they all concentrate on the return gate at once, even if we stopped the signal of National Highway No. 16 by hand signal, it was a crowd of people who collapsed in the hot weather and could not travel.

"This is not the case, I answered that this is the land of the United States."

Every year it is coming, but the runway can be seen as a refuge place for American citizens to evacuate the United States.

Trapped here enroute to Okinawa. Exicuting PCS orders so had no choice in the mode of travel after Seattle. Stopped to switch air crews, new crew was missing people or something so we had to stay. Could not leave the terminal could not get on plane. Airmen simply kept saying "sorry" Great first impression.

I go to Yokota Base Friendship Festival every year. Friendship festivals are so popular every year that people get crowded, so when you come to play, you have to think about the time to come and the time to go home. More

Stationed at Yokota from '69 - '72. A great place to work and raise a family. Lived at Greenpark, down town fussa and then NCO housing on base. The people were great. So many years after that I work closely as a business man with Japanese companies.

When I went to the facility long ago

When I went to the facility long ago
The inside of the building had an old impression, but what's going on?
At that time, there was a day-to-day scene in which people involved in the base tune up their cars and compete for time in the base.

Well, I think it's more inspiring to see an airplane up close at an event such as a marathon.

US Air Force base near Tokyo. They open their doors to the general public once a year as part of a friendship festival. Aircraft on display can be seen from very close quarters, something which is normally not possible. Good food options during the festival. Although, because of the crowds, you might have to queue up under the summer sun for quite a while!

Fighters can be seen up close at the Friendship Fe...

Fighters can be seen up close at the Friendship Festival. Cherry pie is sold out soon, so I would like to say that you should buy it early, but if you shop in the morning it will be difficult to move. In addition, it turns out that it is a mistake to say that American food such as pizza and meat with bones is very delicious. The beer is good! Every year, there is a line from the station and it gets crowded conspicuously, but if there is no back road and it is strong, it will only walk from Haijima, so it can not be helped. Once inside, it's an overwhelming site, so there's no need to be cramped (but there is a line for food and drink).

When I travelled across the world to visit my french friend I thought France and USA were allies. It looks like France is a dangerous country, because we're on the third world country list that can't enter the base.
Thank you for nothing.
My friend was so happy for not being able to invite friends in her own house!
